hi! my friend is having an issue, they're trying to open modded Stardew through steam and it's saying it's "missing an excutible(might be spelled wrong, sorry.)" and I don't know what it means.

it was paisley's bridal boutique... the duplicate items scrambled all my JA IDs ... i removed the duplicate item and loaded the game. boom seeds work xD makes zero sense i know but its fixed and now i am happy

Hello modding friends! I'm seeking some help. My SMAPI says that Custom Farming Redux is missing required mods, but I have PyTK and obviously SMAPI which is what it needs. That in turn is making two of my other mods not work. Does anyone know what could be up?

Custom Farming Redux has been depreciated for quite a while, to my knowledge. So any mods that use it won't work. Have you tried to find a converted version?

I had a mod called Farmer's children installed, and i think one of my kid's content file disappeared
hey i got an odd question.
I'm in a modded save with CJB cheats and I accidentally cheated in the dark talisman and used it on the statue. the big thing is i think i screwed up my save and i'm now not able to get access to the mutant bug lair through the quest for the dark talisman. that and i may have skipped the quest by accident, i'm not sure if i did.
my question is; is there any way to check and maybe undo the quest/tampering in the save?

You can only wear one hair at once. Depending on how the hair mods work, they may or may not conflict.
It dumps system info, including the gpu SDV is running on
If they're Fashion sense packs, you're totally in the clear
If they're CP packs, it depends on if they edit the same hairs or not, and whether or not they are non-replacing
It could theoretically be running on an intel igp

Windows tends to default running the game on whichever monitor is running the display output.
And it performs slightly better if you do that anyway.

So yes, perhaps save editing is your best option (the other one being writing Console Code C# to do it)

So you can force it to run on AMD in the windows graphics settings.
But I would recommend just switching your display cable to the card if you can.
Unless you got a specific reason to use the intel graphics.

Its possible that old SDV worked on intel, new SDV does not

SMAPI has been stuck on updates for 15 minutes, I'm not sure what could be the issue. It has also been running extremely slow as well. If anyone could help with this I would deeply appreciate it. I can send my specs if anyone needs it. I run a pretty high end custom built and this had only started happening today.

This started happening before I updated CP and SMAPI, I thought updating them would fix it however it remained the same
i guess you can try some of the fixes here https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Player_Guide/Troubleshooting#Game_lags_or_stutters_in-game in case something related to them changed for some reason
i don't think it's the problem with that mod setup, but PyTK has some performance toll and if you don't plan on adding content packs for TMXL or other frameworks that need it, it's good to remove
I removed all of my mods and it can now load a save, however SMAPI is having some lag still

Did you replace the game's files with the modded portraits, or was it a Content Patcher mod?

Most likely the mod was outdated and broke the game. I recommend resetting your content files and finding a Content Patcher alternative.

been tweaking schedule trying to figure out why Maki (child 2 npc) either refuses to come home at all or doesn't actually go to their bed- what does this mean? what do i need to fix?
Looks like its loading a schedule rather than editing it

You need to load a blank schedule then edit it. Or just change the token part (the {{ }}) to actual coordinates.
I tried doing the actual coordinates (FarmHouse number number) and he either just went up to the community center to sleep anyway, or got stuck on the bus path on the way home
which is why I decided to try using the token instead
I pretty much just don't want him sleeping in random places on the map, the thing that was suggested earlier by someone I forgot their name didn't work at all
I just don't get why even with the correct coordinates he just. Does not go back to the farmhouse unless I have curfew enabled in Child2NPC (and then he doesn't go to the bed, just stands in one place all night)
When I had it coordinates, I also changed the coordinates for the last thing he's scheduled to do before going home- he went there perfectly, but then ignored the schedule to go home

yeah, unfortunately, you don't have JsonAssets anymore, so it cannot deal with those left over items
Make sure to have its requirements installed so it doesn't crash [ex. EPU, SMAPI, Spacecore]
Not entirely sure but that might make it stable
I did have all the requirements before but whenever I opened the game with smapi, it gave me errors that spacecore, json assets and EU have corrupted files that might cause crashes
I would do a fresh download and extract from nexus, im not sure how they got corrupted so it might have been a conflict or something when extracting

Nexus has a vortex downloader that has caused some issues

But for right now no matter what I tried he would only actually go home if I had curfew on, but then he wouldn't go to his bed.
If I had curfew off, he would completely ignore the last part of the schedule and either start doing the sleep animation exactly where he had been standing or walk to the community center and sleep
even if there was no community center in the schedule at that time
The child_sleep is just an animation indicator
I was gonna try deleting that and see if it made a difference but idk why it would
I also tried using the token for the child's bed included in child2npc with the child's bed set to being specific coordinates, still nothing
Oh it has to be time bed exactly. No animations
For spouses and children, this tells them to go back home
And in theory different code that has them stare at chairs in the evening eventually makes them go to bed haha

please help, I downloaded the automate mod and tried to connect chests and machines using wood paths, for some reason there is no configure mod button ont the bottem left tried to fix it by uninstalling and reinstalling. didnt work. i read somewhere where u can add wood path by editing the config.json file. can someone help with this?

Generic Mod Config Menu (or GMCM https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/5098) adds the option to edit some, but not all, mod configs from either the title screen or the options page in a save. It also has a special screen to edit keybinds for all mods with GMCM integration.
The presence of the gear it adds to the title screen is not a method for checking whether mods are installed, only whether GMCM is installed.

no, even if you try to change it via save game edit, it will corrupt the save file

Custom Furniture's author is around only very rarely, and it has a number of unfixed open bugs
None of us can fix it easily because it's dependent on PyTK, and no one really understands PyTK

The issue is most likely a json shuffle, but you can try using CJB cheats to respawn and check
and here I thought me having 200 mods is pushing it
The limit of reasonable, functional mods is somewhere around 1000

My trash can has disappeared but is still there in spirit. May I ask for the location of the trash can icon if someone knows it and a file for it? I'm guessing that a less yellow stardew caused this to happen because i just installed that and it requires the replacing of game files

Ok, so, I have the...I think it's the tailor mouse mod, which creates a house off the side of the road from the farm to the town, and it is just bringing me to my farm. Plus, it also sometimes places me outside the screen. I can manage to enter the area where you exit to the road, which moves me out, but I have to do it repeatedly if I want to get home at some point.

And this is a just me problem, because it doesn't happen in multiplayer on someone else's server. (I do have a few problems for multiplayer too, but that's for later.)

When I remove the launch option the vanilla game works fine, I was planning on deleting and reinstalling all mods & the game, but when I reinstalled the game all the mod files I had deleted came back. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

(i believe vanilla works fine) Hey, so i'm trying to play modded with one mod (which modifies/adds game mechanics). had a bit of troubles with CF's addons to SDV, file annoyances, and just not being able to find a good way to launch modded. Then, i got smapi to work, well, mostly? at first, it was a file error, but now the game wont even launch. yesterday. 3rd line had said 'waiting for game to launch' (along those lines) but now, it doesnt even say that. On steam, it says game is running, but game does not in fact appear. I have no idea if this is some sort of client side error, (maybe needs certain files, i dont know. was trying to clear my mod folder from older times), or something wrong with smapi doing it's thing itself.

We've got mods on a server and until today its been fine, but now today theres mass amount of delay.
- In chests and horses
- Picking up items
- Chat
- Even everyones time is always different
If absolutely nothing has changed in the mods (no mod updates, no game updates, no SMAPI updates, no new members with different mod lists), then it's probably an internet issue either in the backend servers or in the local internet (probably of the host)
If things have changed, check which changes you made and the issue should be somewhere in those
Yes, I am the hoster of the giga server, and I haven't changed any mods as of recent, and if they were causing problems, they were removed. Yesterday we were able to play with 10 people at once and play fine
However today we've been having off-put times and delays,
loading screens have been having problems loading or they take too long,
chests have been opened and they do a animation where they stay open?

How to convert: not sure, depends on how the original mods are formatted. You might need to just make a new CP mod from scratch and just reuse the .pngs

Hi, have an issue with my smapi, came from nexus.
Tried doing whatever listed on wiki and what another person recommended me, but smapi still gets stuck on api loaded no (playing through steam).
What should I do? (Everything worked fine after I updated mods and Smapi, but only for a day or two).

Adopt n Skin is a SMAPI mod, or to put it another way, it's a code mod, written in C#
It's not a content pack, so editing its files is not as easy as changing some numbers or words in the files

I'm fairly sure that the issue in Adopt n Skin is that its content APIs need to be updated
So there's not really anything you can do on the user side to fix, unless you fork the code, edit it, and recompile

It has to be one of your mods, since running without SMAPI fixes the issue. I would start by removing the ones that change the game code like: Alternative Textures, Custom Spouse Rooms, Fashion Sense, and Redesigned Farmhouse Layout. I would remove those one at a time. If none of those fixes the issue, then I would start removing the others slowly.
The problem is, without SMAPI throwing an error that causes the lag, it's hard to pinpoint where it's coming from

anyone have any idea what the hell happened here? my farmhand was in the deepwoods and tried to kill a grub. you know, the little larvae things that turn into flies. and then suddenly my console started spamming pretty fast and i couldnt move in-game, nor could my farmhand. we were just going to close the game because we thought it was completely crashing. but, he decided to try to log out instead of losing our day's progress (it was past 12am). once he closed stardew, my game instantly unfroze and i could save the day and our progress. once he logged back in and went back into the deepwoods, everything seemed fine when he killed another grub. any ideas? https://smapi.io/log/887d9364817d430e9739cf89c1c182a4?Mods=game~SMAPI

er, backing up, Child to NPC is a dependency of Babysitter, Child to NPC lists custom fixes as a dependency. Custom NPC fixes says on the ModDrop that it's only necessary if using TXML, which that babysitter mod does not require?

Hello! In my multiplayer game I got the at cut scene that I previously mentioned was erroring out for my friend. I had to reset because I kept swimming even after sleeping over night after the error. Three things of note about my log 1. Growling dinos has been a headache to update but I don't assume it affects this issue. 2. I updated flower meads and forgot to find the original to remove it. I also, do not think this caused any issues 3. The error for "SV Mods" is due to my friends wanting to use a git hub command prompt that allows me to send all updates I get to everyone else. I do not think this has messed up our games at all aside from sometimes sending duplicate mods when my friends pull the updates from me. The friend of mine running the git hub stuff is troubleshooting that. As a final note, I'm not the host player but I still have a lot of mods a host player would have since I am the one who handles mod work in my multiplayer group. My SMAPI log is here this time. We thought it might be Skillful Clothes causing an incompatibility (since the farmer swims during the event), so we had them remove that mod to test, but the error is still occurring.

Hi! I'm about to use the DNA Synthesizer (Fresh Meat) and I noticed that I couldn't obtain chicken nor duck DNA as both kinds of animal products I put in only give bird DNA. Is there a way to address this?

so I want to join my friend and he has alot of mods to list what would be the quickest way to get all of his mods so I can play with him
have him send his mods folder to you
how will he do that
Zip it (perhaps with 7zip) and upload it to google drive.
There are other syncing methods, but that is the simplest to set up for sure.
Your friend still has to install smapi though.

Well for one thing some of those mods may be incompatible with multiplayer?
Like child to npc for sure.
Maybe more though, I feel like I specifically skipped a few of those mods for our MP game b/c of the description.
But maybe also ask them if the cutscene involved any terrain changes? Maybe it does if swimming is involved.

I've never had that issue generate an error in my log, but I have only run into it in RSV and SVE
so... I just bought stardew on steam... I've played before but on switch. Before actually playing the pc version, I added a few mods. Why is my game like choppy or like stuttering? is it because of the mods? idk if this is the right channel to ask this XD

huh. I know I had some issues with the DC portrait mod but I can say the Seasonal Characters and Dialogue expansions work fine for me
