hi so i have the unlimited players mod, currently in the server have 4 people and have tried getting one more person, but that one person can't create a new character to join, is there a way to let them create one and play? for reference we've already started the server, but we just got the mod now
yo guys i got a really important question does anyone know why my stardew keep crashing? im using the newest smapi version and everytime i go to a new area in the map it takes a long ass time to load and ends up crashing it doesn't happen with any other game any clues?

Open your log and try and find "Already added by"
try this, I feel like the problem that its too big is due to a reccuring error
If it's a json duplicate it will keep recurring
but not if its not triggered, thus if the game closes before that it should still give an indication as to what the problem is but without it being too big
or find a way to force crash the game directly after it freezes
would stop the reccuring error from making the file too big

Next time you load your game, but before you load your save, I would take a look at the top of your smapi window and see if there's any red before you continue

It does say you have two mods trying to load the farm cave. Try deleting the hot spring cave and see if it works
that should be irrelevant but I did notice that and deleted hot spring, ill try again in a second

next you want to go to your desktop (or wherever) and create a shortcut to the StardewModdingAPI.exe by right clicking on your desktop, going to new > shortcut

yeah I dont think that works with multiple folders, so if you click play on steam now it will use Mods and if you click the shortcut it will use Mods 02 @keen crow might know more?

Anytime you change your JA mods you can risk a shuffle. In multiplayer, you need to have exactly the same mods in exactly the same order as your friends.
Anytime you have a shuffle and then solve it, old objects may remain affected but new ones should be fine. You can sell or trash the old items, and spawn in new ones if needed with CJB item spawner.

hey, I'm having an issue with the industrial furniture mod, I removed it because I didn't want it anymore and all the textures it changed went back accept leah's sculpture

no idea if it will help. I saw in the release notes that the update fixes null reference with letter cases, and the error you got says something about letter case value provider... someone who is more knowledgeable will probably get back to you about it

Hmm, Getting an error that multiple mods are trying to load the lighthouse on a new game / grampleton coast. Not getting errors on loading game. Maybe I have a duplicate old version file of SVE. Or just way too many mods lol

Ah not sure if you already fixed this, but theres still some startup errors.
At the very least there should be no red at startup, as that means something is definitely wrong with the setup.
[SMAPI] Multiple mods want to provide the 'Maps/Lighthouse' asset: Content Patcher (for the 'Stardew Valley Expanded' content pack), PyTK. An asset can't be loaded multiple times, so SMAPI will use the default asset instead. Uninstall one of the mods to fix this. (Message for modders: you should avoid AssetLoadPriority.Exclusive and IAssetLoader if possible to avoid conflicts.)

The latest released version of PPJA (Project Populate Json Assets, a popular mod) is a conversion from JA to DGA, but it has some bugs in it, and the mod author has retired. Sticking with the older JA version is probably your best option.
You can download the JA version from the Old Files section on Nexus, or by downloading the latest versions of the standalone components instead of the megapack (except for Farmer to Florist, where you would need to look under Old Files in the standalone version).

It might result in a json shuffle if you have other JA mods, but otherwise it should be fine

Anytime you change your JA mods you can risk a shuffle. In multiplayer, you need to have exactly the same mods in exactly the same order as your friends.
Anytime you have a shuffle and then solve it, old objects may remain affected but new ones should be fine. You can sell or trash the old items, and spawn in new ones if needed with CJB item spawner.
That's the installer, not the actually SMAPI application

uhhh not sure how to word this but i checked in some messages about the PAL_SEHException error and found something related to harmony being mentioned, so i decided to narrow down my mods, and as it turns out, friendly divorce (or the mobile phone mod) was causing my issue a few months back

Just means you don't have Walk Of Life installed. This is only a bug if you do in fact have it installed.

smapi told me no executable found so it couldn't detect anything because of zip files where there
I download them to my downloads folder. Then extract into mods folder. That is easier if (on windows) one uses a program like 7zip. It remembers previous locations you extracted to, so you don’t have to click click a lot.
Smapi is different, since we have to run it after it’s extracted - just extract within the download folder then after it’s installed you can delete both the zip and the extracted files
Smapi makes the mods work. It also tells us where to find the mod folder where we extract the mod files.

they've broken it up into several mods so it's not one huge file. it took me a bit to figure out. the weebly has details on compatibility. I use SVE so I didn't download the pack with Wizard, Linus, and Marlon
btw when you open the game after adding the DSV mod folders
you have to click on the cog on the main load screen (before you go to the section where you pick the save you want to load) to pick the DSV configs. default is vanilla
don't forget to remove the cute seasonal sprites you have now before trying DSV, you can move them into a temp folder on your desktop so you can swap back later if you like

due to a behind the scenes change from 3.13 to 3.14

Okay, unzipping on 7zip worked i think. It now was extracted as the correct name, and does have manifest content.jsons

the one thing that stands out to me is

Which would point to you either missing a dependency, or you accidentally deleted something that's needed. Double check your mods and make sure you have all dependencies, and if there's nothing wrong, then repair your game. These methods won't mess with your saves so you lose nothing in trying
it doesn't seem to be a problem with ptyk itself, but more something else is trying to use that framework and failing
if you enable trace in the log, the only thing that happens before the error is trying to load the greenhouse

@worldly sable I highly suggest taking out this mod. The mod author themselves on their very own mod page states that the mod has a ton of bugs, and it has been known to interfere or stop working when on custom farm maps

@dire fractal if you're still around, if you're in winter still, a significant part of why you're probably lagging on transition is the snow effect itself combined medieval farm buildings (and probably others) Solution seems to be turning off seasonaledits in sve

the seasonaledit adds 'leaves' and 'snow' to various farm related things, and basically causes all of those assets to be loaded multiple times when combined with building replacements
That just sounds like something worth turning off if you have a big mod list that edits a lot of things.

Hello! I'd like to be able to use this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/11769 (Fall Colors and gradual seasonal foliage changes) and it's the first Alternative Textures mod I've tried installing. The mod author notes it works best on a new file / will only work on newly planted trees. Does anyone know if there's an easy way to "kick" existing trees into using these textures? By "easy" I mean ideally I don't have to go around paint brushing every tree, but I'm comfortable with console commands, maybe sketchy save editing, etc
the general advice is that there is no way to do so without potentially messing up your game, hence why such mods should be added on fresh saves.

hey I'm the person from yesterday who was having an issue with the industrial furniture mod, I went to bed so I couldn't test if resetting the files worked but I tested it this morning and leah's sculpture is still a music stand
I linked the log after doing the patch summary command, basically what happened was I deleted the industrial furniture mod and everything went back to normal except for Leah's statue
i did reset the files with steam but no luck
also I just checked: industrial furniture is not a XNB mod, it's a CP mod, so I have no idea how this is happening after the mod's been deleted
