Your file path is too long
Rename some of those folders to be like "Ridgeside" or something short
try putting it directly in the Mods directory. Your max path length on Windows is like 255 char

Hey, I've just learned modding the game a month or more ago but I've never updated mods or SMAPI. I have to update 5 mods and SMAPI so I was wondering if someone could explain it or show me where I can read about the process
redownload the mods from where you got them, and then delete the old mod folders and replace them with the updated mod folders
That won't like mess with my game at all? Or should I create a new backup incase
smapi update is just installing newest version
for smapi, you can download the newest version, you dont have to delete/uninstall the old one

You can copy them elsewhere and then put them back after

Obviously they can't be swapped between mods
If this mod is adjusting "Jars" that exist in game then it will completely ignore my machines. They are designed to create individual assets. You would likely have to key in rules individually for each of literally hundreds of items.

Your antivirus may have removed a smapi file. Try reinstalling smapi

If you want to play with mods, yes
most of the items are not from fruits and veggies actually, but do you have the DGA version of fruits and veggies (or other PPJA mods)? might be that farm type manager only works with the json assets versions
So i just downloaded a mod that didnt download in a zipped folder or anything. It just downloaded as a RAR file? Do i need to do anything different with this mod to get it to work as apposed to all the other mods that are in file folders? Or do i just move it on over to the mods folder like everything else

you can use programs like 7 zip to open rar files
Just right click on it and click extract file like you do with zipped files.

To update mods that aren't smapi, you need to download the newer version of the mod, delete the old folder of the mod and than move the newly updated mod you just got into the mods folder. Never overwrite a mod.

Hey hey everyone!
So i just installed some mods, specifically earthy recolour, Elle's seasonal buildings, stardew foilage redone and flowergrass and snowfields. I noticed that everything looks pretty and fitted in with the overall estetic, except for this tree model. Idk if it this is caused by a mod not working properly, but these models are kind of an eye sore right now 😦 Does anyone know the cause of this model looking so out of place? stardew foliage redone only changes the real trees that you can chop down, thats a tree on the actual map

what map recolor are you using? you could maybe edit the tilesheet and replace it with the one from the foliage mod

yeah, it looks like you only got SVE and didn't get ANY of its requirements
basically uninstall sve completely, as you have multiple versions and reinstalling it is probuably gonna be easiest
- Stardew Valley Expanded because you have multiple copies of this mod installed. To fix this, delete these folders and reinstall the mod: Mods\Stardew Valley Expanded\StardewValleyExpanded, Mods\StardewValleyExpanded.
I mean they could just delete one of them but twould be easiest imo to just reinstall completely

I'm having an issue just using SMAPI overall, tried using an older version and loading it without any mods (only error handler, console commands and save backup), and it's still really slow. I didn't have this issue before but yesterday i got an BSOD error and now everything involving SMAPI has gone to chaos.
And everytime it does open, the save file loading takes so long and it becomes unresponsive.
Currently it's stuck at "Looking for Saved games"
Now I'm trying to use my save file, and it's become unresponsive
The game becoming unresponsive is normal depending on what mods you have. You can usually wait it out up to 15 minutes, depending on your system's specs, and everything will load up. If that's going to be an issue for you though, consider getting rid of pytk and any mods that use it as well as reducing how many mods you have that add new areas (like expansion mods) or new items.
There also is a thread here you can join if you've tried that and are still having problems. Not sure if it applies to your situation though. You would just need to look into it.
Ayo guys this has nothing to do with sw but can anyone help? Yesterday my laptop ran perfectly but now its a black screen on my desktop and i suspect a program that appered in my files for no reason. Hi y'all, oh my goodness I've been googling how to get to Crimson badlands but I've realized that the process has changed during the years so the google results are different and I just can't understand what the correct process is atm. Can someone please help explain? I've got the enchanted grove (wizard and farm so far), but I can't remember if I've triggered the Alesia cutscene at Marlons, cause I didn't know it was important at that time, but now I don't even know if that even matters since I read something about the Crimson getting accessible after opening up more warp spots (and how do I even do that?). Hey everyone! I can't install smapi correctly. The console gives me no error but clearly the files won't get installed (which you can see by the missing folders and StardewModdingAPI.exe). I downloaded smapi multiple times with different versions from the official website, nexus and GitHub but neither worked. If I try to install it manually it will get stuck in the "Waiting for game to launch" screen. I even tried to reinstall Stardew Valley multiple times at different drives.. Anyone know how to fix this? Also sorry for my bad English

they're different format, because they use different frameworks
which would drastically change the advice I give you
you don't need to change when if you're got the file in the right place. My guess is the "when" seasonal is what allows you to have the variant change between seasons.
But in that case underneath when seasonal, there should be a when season-summer
and you'll need about 4 {log cabin} bits, one for each season

Oy Vey! I messed up my game again. 😦 Here's my log, I can't figure out how to fix it. I tried adding East Scarp last night and it didn't work, so I uninstalled all related files, but something got corrupted in the process or I deleted something important on accident. So far this morning I've reinstalled SDV Expanded and json assets.
I know it says the Custom Music mod has an error, but I used the file included in the SDV Expanded zip, so it should be the correct version, right?
the problem seems to be with the file or folder permissions. i don't know how to change those on android though

Depending on the version of Android you are using even with the permissions added in the manifest in 6.0 or up the user has to explicitly enable the permission when the app runs and on lower versions permission is asked during install.
Stardew has always used the Read/Write External Storage permission for it's saves. This allows players to copy across from PC. In Android 10 they removed this permission as they deemed it a security risk, however, you can make it still work by adding this to the manifest file: android:requestLegacyExternalStorage="true"
this is my best guess for what's happening, so could I ask what version of android you're running? You might have to end up editing a file or two

Alright, so I've got a weird mod conflict I'm already discussing with the mod author, but... I think I need a 2nd opinion. So when this mod is loaded: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/5969?tab=description the sprites from this mod get over-ridden with the vanilla SVE ones https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/11085 . So that just some kind of CP conflict... right? Well I thought so too, so I tried deleting stuff from SCC to see what was conflicting. Turns out, its not the mod, but the mod manifest thats breaking the latter mod. Whenever an otherwise empty folder with this manifest is loaded, it somehow breaks the lannah mod:

For content packs, that would be in a .json file. In theory C# mods could check in their compiled DLL too, but that sort of thing happens much more often in content packs.
Just the one log is fine for now; it'll show which specific mods are editing the springobjects spritesheet.

Nope, the log is generated continuously. So as soon as you check that items are still invisible, you can upload your new log (without even needing to exit the game).

My lvl 100 chest got me 15 cactus seeds, hands were empty, I went to screenshot it, and suddenly I saw the seeds in the hand. I was wondering if it was just slow, and I was too quick to think I had empty hands again

The latest released version of PPJA (Project Populate Json Assets, a popular mod) is a conversion from JA to DGA, but it has some bugs in it, and the mod author has retired. Sticking with the older JA version is probably your best option.
You can download the JA version from the Old Files section on Nexus, or by downloading the latest versions of the standalone components instead of the megapack (except for Farmer to Florist, where you would need to look under Old Files in the standalone version).

I'm new to modding Stardew and I'm still learning the API. I'm running into an issue where the day doesn't progress when sleeping. I've tested this only in a multiplayer save since that is its intended use, but every time it runs into an issue where it can't create the save file and if I'm interpreting the log correctly Farm Type Manager is to blame. I can't simply remove it from my modlist since other mods I want to use are dependent on it. Is there any way I can fix the error?

Ok, after you said that I noticed that those mods were no longer in my modlist but still existed in the mods folder of Stardew. I deleted them, let me boot again and see if it still says they were skipped.
If you go to https://github.com/Annosz/UIInfoSuite2/releases, you can find UI Info Suite 2, which works with Stardew 1.5.5+. Download the first zip, not the source code.

hello, i am using child to npc as well as child age up mod, and ever since i moved the child bed my son has doubled, toddler self running around the house and npc self doesnt move entire day stays where the bed used to be. any solutions?

sve adds more portraits for gunther, marlon, and the wizard, you need to download the sve patch for dcburgers portraits

you have both the cp and the portraiture version?
portraiture version is just drag and drop into the main portraiture file, and with the sve patch you have to overwrite the original photos

What would be a reason that a farm map replacer mod would have wonky looking tiles on my game but not in the author's? Just wondering if I should look for any certain mods that might be causing it

Mainly I'm using a replacer for the beach map. There's a small section with pure water tiles that should be a water/sand mix. MapEdit doesn't work for some reason.

So I'm playing an online MP game with someone else, and the client has an issue where their game sometimes gets desynced over a couple of days. We always start out fine when the game starts up, but eventually we get what looks like JSON shuffle. Hello, I've been playing through a modded run in multiplayer and we ran into a issue where my farmhand is unable to get ||Joja Emporium|| to appear (We both have completed the route, maxed out Morris, and I received the cutscenes for ||Mayor Morris|| and have full access to ||the emporium||, but it appears the game thinks Morris isn't ||mayor|| for them) I attempted to try and fix this using PyTK's syncmap function (if it works how I think it does), however syncmap Town returns an error of The PyTK.Types.PyDisplayDevice object doesn't have a 'm_tileSheetTextures' instance field..
After following the error message and taking a look at the source code on Github, it appears pyTK renamed this instance field to m_tileSheetTextures2. I'm hoping for a little more insight on how to proceed from here or if the syncmap function is simply not want I'm looking for to solve my problem

Are you using Alternative Textures? It will tend to randomize whatever you put down, and in this case it's randomizing between two colors of fencing.
I forget which tool you're supposed to use but you can select a texture with one of them

Here's a question. I'm playing a modded multiplayer game with the wife. Both running over wifi, with me as the host. We have noticed that some modded forageable items show up weird for her. For example, for me a Pine Nut (from boarding house) shows up fine, but for her its a "Fluffy Pillowy Sandwich". It seems like JSON shuffle, but I cant figure out what could be causing it. Will Json Assets ever get fixed so that custom object gift tastes stay logged? It's such a shame how the game forgets that information in any sort of progression mode.

Alright gang, can you tell me where to find the missing files for these because I've checked and I HAVE these mods. I think it's because the assets thing or whatever that's preventing me from loading the industrialization mods
ah I think I figured it out. There's only the industrialization for PFM on Nexus mods so I can't load anything in due to my need of Industrialization for JA

Still having the issue with ChildtoNPC, child and toddler spawning both, still have no ide how to fix it
when loading mods smapi goes through the folder hierarchy until it first finds files, that's the level where it expects to find the manifest file that defines the mod, for some reason the industrialization zip contains that meta.ini file a level before the 2 manifests so smapi never finds them and doesn't load them

unfortunately no, it'll require a new released version of the mod, unless I'm totally off on what's the issue
Also last question, is the meta file important for anything in the mod or should it run without issues now.
it shouldn't affect the mod in any way, and if it does I'm sure smapi will print lots of angry red text for it

what is happening on this SVE farm waterfall...
so far i tried removing all the mods except core ones and ChildtoNPC ones, going back to earlier version, going back to earlier version of CP and trying another NPC pathing mod, the child still spawns so does the toddler.

Hi, I'm having trouble installing smapi on my steam deck. I can't seem to type the correct file path in Konsole.
I hovered on it and the path was /run/media/mmcblk0p1/steamapps/common/ Stawdew Valley
I entered it just like that but it can't find stardew, and smapi didn't automatically find it.
Am I missing something?

Not that I know of. I've always thought of it as being because your game has more objects in it, it has to save all the actions you've done, all the quests etc... so it's just unavoidable
If it is... sounds like a C# mod or a base game change 
that's why I aim to only do 3 years on my saves

yeah, I'm more a fan of multiple shorter run. With your mod list I'd probably split it into thirds and do like, three runs. But like.. I'm happy seeing something completely different in each run

that will definitely remove the clone but it might be back when you put the mod back
he just doesn't move at all, his pathing seems good but he stands in the same spot at home all day
what's happening is that child2npc isn't recognizing the npc it created as a child2npc npc. I ran into that a fair bit.

Couldn't spot any obvious mods that looked like they'd also trying to patch the farm. So usually after fixing the errors in my log, if it was still bugged I'd make a test save with just SVE's grandpa's farm and then slowly add my mods back in. Starting with the ones most likely to be causing the conflict.

So I found it, the NPC mod Chelsea is for some reason overriding the spouse room even though I'm not married to her.
Mods need to be made for it. It says in the mod description

just follow the nexusmods links that it gave you and download the latest files

Gonna ask here again: does anyone here know what might cause JSON shuffling in a multiplayer game?
Where the host is always fine but the client seems to always get shuffled after a few days, unless they leave and reconnect?
The MD5 hash for our mod directories are idential, as is the smapi version.
And I don't know what to look for in TRACE log messages, or if certain mods are known to cause this
Usually I pull up a log from each and flip back and forth rapidly to check all the JA mods are identical
They need to also be identical versions

I haven't had anyone else come through with a multiplayer shuffle that wasn't fixed that way
Thing is it always starts out identical, but then items start getting shuffled after a few days. A reconnect fixes it.

Hi, can anybody help me figure out why my field looks like this? Some of it is also staying watered overnight, and some fertilizer didnt go away when the season changed...

I have a super weird issue and I do not even know where to begin troubleshooting which mod is causing it.
Basically when I place a machine, sometimes it just.. disappears and tills the ground instead (when I have a hoe in my inventory). If I empty inventory and just place the machine, I can't pickaxe it, and it does the light shake as if you're walking into it and it's about to pop out

Marine Gem Cultivator was the one I tried it with. I noticed it first when I went to the docks and saw mine was gone, which should not be the case (I have non-destructive NPC's).
I tried placing it both there and in my greenhouse, both times it happened.
I recently updated all of my mods after nearly a year break, and when I go to the mod config menu, when I tried to select a mod to configure, it would crash back to the screen.
Known issue, go back one version of GMCM for now

I'm using Automate, but it isn't finding the machines in the Shed on my farm. automate summary shows all of the other machines in my game, but nothing in the Shed
The machine in my Coop works fine, just not the Shed for some weird reason.
Not really a bug or massive issue but general question about automate. Is there any way to get a working system without a chest.
Have autograbber -> mayo machines -> mini-shipping bin but it won't activate until I add a chest which for this machine isn't needed.
You might be able to adjust the config to make that work - LMC what options are there.
I don't think you can make that work. The mod isolates each part of the machine - the autograbber will automatically dump items into a chest. The mayo machine automation looks for a connected chest with any processable items, adds them if its empty, and if it's full dumps the output into a chest.
