are you using any world recolors like vibrant pastoral? it recolors the craftables as well

hi sorry to bother i was just hoping for a little help! i just downloaded smapi and then tried to download a mod from nexusmod and even when i go through all the buttons nothing downloads like i get no pop up to choose where to download or the little now downloading that usually happens on chrome. im at a complete loss

hey I'm wanting to remove a mod until the creator adds more content. the wiki for that mod isn't completely fleshed out so I'm not sure whether I've removed all items in my inventory, from that mod
what sort of issues will I be looking at if I overlook items? also, I added one fish from that mod to the aquarium. am I able to remove the mod or would it be better to start a new save

does anyone know if Immersive Farm 2 works with the latest version of smapi?
is anyone else running into stuttering/lag the last few days? I know that's a broad question but honestly I've kinda lost myself in trying to fix it. At first I thought it was the new SMAPI, but rolling back hasn't improved it. Nor has removing the few things I added since it started. So now I'm more confused than I was when it started

@analog rune Not sure if you solved this, but error code 0xc0000409 is 'unknown software exception'. Unfortunately that can happen for all sorts of random reasons (incompatible software, driver issues, hardware issues, Windows install issues, etc).
Try making sure Windows is fully up-to-date, installing the utility software for your GPU (either AMD Radeon Software or GeForce Experience), and then using it to install the latest graphics drivers.
If it still happens after that, the only other common fix I can think of is pretty drastic (perform a clean reformat & reinstall of the OS), and even that isn't guaranteed to work if it's a hardware issue.

- Background processes on your computer (ex. my game lags/stutters horribly when my computer changes from light to dark theme at nightfall)
- Garbage collection in the game/game framework.
- Certain functions within the game can cause lag/stutter (ex. forage spawn at specific times, screenshot triggering)
- Certain mods are more likely to cause lag/stutter, and may have config options to reduce them. (ex. seasonal outfit-type mods, FTM mods with many monsters spawning)
- Certain computer setups may experience more lag.
In terms of fixes, by cause above:
- You can try viewing Task Manager/Activity Monitor while the game is running to identify problematic background processes, and/or close other apps.
- Difficult to address as a user. Ameise has been trying to track this down but it has been proving elusive.
- See if the lag occurs at a consistent time and try to find mods that add a change at those times.
- Ask if there are config options for the mods you suspect. For ex., FTM (reduce monster spawn limit), DSV (use lightweight version), and Automate all have config options.
- If you have an Nvidia GPU, try typing

hey guys. whenever I click on load game or the co op button from the main screen my game freezes and crashes with "stardewmoddingapi" not responding. I can make a new game just fine and play the game with all the mods working. just not load or go into coop

Is SMAPI worth updating right now? I keep seeing people say itās incredibly glitchy and/or laggy so if I can wait, Iād rather do that
I have noticed a lot more stuttering in my game after updating, and it's certainly not a cpu/ram issue
thought it was just me, but if reported as an actual issue then I'm not completely surprised
There's a sort of divide regarding the latest Smapi as of now. Where one is experience worse lag problems, and one having improved performance. That said, some frameworks are already updated for Smapi 1.14, whilst others has not.
So should you update? Honestly up to you.

When removing large expansions, like Stardew Valley Expanded, or mods that add new items, you should to do a few things:
- Remove all modded fish from fishponds
- Remove items from the mod from chests and inventory
- Cut down trees/crops from the mod
- Make sure no important items are in mod-added locations
- Divorce any spouses from the mod (you can do this via console command)

smapi 3.14 for me seems to load significantly slower than 3.13
3.13 sped up mod loading time to an amazing degree now 3.14 seems to take 3 or 4 minutes to load into main menu, and hangs doing that when it didnt before

Odd, using that command, .\StardewModdingAPI.exe, actually made the game load with mods for some reason, when everything else didn't

I downloaded a mod for retextuing the craftables, but certain ones (beehouse, keg, furnace, charcoal kiln and several others) have a different texture and I dont know what its from. they looked the same as before I downloaded the mod but it also isn't the vanilla texture.

I think it somewhat depends on which ones you're trying to use? life cycle is divided into couples... if you're using Sam and Alissa and also trying to use the Sam and Penny one... it probably won't make much sense story-wise and there might be some conflicts (schedule changes, marriage if you implement the marriage version for each, etc). that said if you're trying to use Sam and Alissa but also Abigail and Sebastian from Life Cycle, that should be no problem I think
Currently I'm using two Life Cycle couples (Leah and Haley, Seb and Abigail), Sam and Alissa from the RSV rival hearts series that Zoedoll started, and a standalone rival hearts pack for Penny and Maru and haven't run into problems

are you using vibrant pastoral? it has an option to disable craftables in the config. SVE might be retexturing them too based on atra's message above
im very confused as to whats happening, i just added tmxloader and pytk and for some reason i cant launch my game through smapi anymore. it tells me its updating and then gives me an error "while updating stardew valley (no internet connection)"
If I roll back to the previous version of smapi, will it then tell me in the log which mods are not able to be loaded, so that I can know which mods I need to roll back?

Yes, if a mod can't be loaded, it will error
Note that you might get a "this mod is outdated" error instead of a "this mod needs 3.14.0" error, depending on whether or not the author set the minimum api field correctly or not

in the release version the tables are handled by the CP component and the chests/signs are handled by the C# component, so if they're out of sync the first check is whether you have market day set the same in both config pages
I've been using all of those mods, and it honestly looks really nice in my opinion.

I'm having some problems installing smapi on my tablet. I downloaded the installer, ran it and am getting a message.... Need all files access permission on Android Q or above to install mod framework, continue? And when I click confirm it takes me to app info. I don't know what to do from here.

So placing the items then me loading the area after placement does not require me to load the game again unless they move the custom furniture around again.

So I don't super care, but Sam's concert crashed in the middle and I haven't gotten the letter denoting that I was there for it. I'm not marrying him this go round so I'm mostly okay with it, but I'm a little concerned with it happening for things that matter. Well I figured out the issue and got smapi installed on the tablet. I have the compatibility page open on the modding wiki but I haven't the faintest clue where the mods are supposed to go

ive tried it with and without mods
vanilla works fine
stutter is about 5-12 frames from 60 fps
Its also fairly frequent with about like 10-15 seconds in-between especially when doing actions

yeah unfortunately I think it's common. I've seen others complain about it for other tmx buildables (not sure there's a solution either)

[SMAPI] Found MSI Afterburner installed, which may conflict with SMAPI. If you experience errors or crashes, try disabling that software or adding an exception for SMAPI and Stardew Valley.

Does deleting Ridgeside village mod corrupts the save files? I haven't own or used (recipes) in that mod yet and I'm planning to delete it since my friend and I are having difficulties on co-op. Their game crashes and sometimes they are stuck in loading screen...and I believe its because of the mod 
the mod items + quests should probably be deleted/cancelled before removing the mod at least (and you can try troubleshooting the crash here too, it might not be necessary to remove the mod)

I don't really want to delete the mod since it's very beautiful sooo.. I'mma try troubleshooting it. The problem is.. is that I don't know how to troubleshoot it since this is my first time I encounter a problem in the game/using a mod. And if I don't have any other choice but to delete the mod...how do I delete the mod items and quests? what folder should I find?

You can change it by editing your SaveGameInfo, specifically the difficultyModifier element. Make sure you make a backup of your save first.

well, for starters, you dont have the exact same mods, and you need to update SMAPI and Custom Companions since your friend has updated them
and ask them to remove Save Anywhere, its known for causing bugs

It's kinda a pain, but basically make a backup of your save in case. Find <difficultyModifier>1<difficultyModifier> in the SaveGameInfo file of the save you want to modify and change that 1 to anything you want. It's the multiplier on your profit

Same haha. Try rolling back to SMAPI 3.13.4 until it gets fixed. For me that fixed it.
You also have different SMAPI versions, I assume that can cause some big problems (oh wait nevermind, skellady said that already)

Do you know if mods like Show Item Sell Price would reflect changes to the difficultymodifier? So far everything is still showing as selling for the default amount even though I halved it. I'll try seeing how much something sells for at Pierre's maybe.

hey, does anyone know what mod this is from?
I tried a lot of things, but haven't got it fixed yet:
- I checked if Windows is up to date and it is.
- I went into my Drive's properties>tools and did both a scan and a registry optimize
- Fixed my registry in CCleaner
- I don't think I have what I need to do a repair install: I have a USB with 8+ GB, but I don't have a DVD disc for it.
- I used
sfc /scannowin the command prompt, but that didn't fix it. - I can't find a utility software online for "Intel(R) HD Graphics 630", except this: https://www.driverguide.com/driver/download/Intel-HD-Graphics-630, but I don't know if I can trust it. CCleaner says my GPU drivers are out of date, but device manager says I have the newest version installed.

I'm not fully up to date but if you're looking for latest drivers, driver easy is probably the easiest way

If it's just an NPC, check that you have Error Handler and then yes
If he adds new items, you might get a json shuffle but that's fixable as long as you don't have any of the new items around

@mental quail I think I can install them from intel. I thought I heard that that was dangerous though, because every PC is different and needs a specific driver version.
I have a thinkpad and lenovo is 2 or 3 releases behind intel's latest driver for my GPU. I got a warning saying it would overwrite the OEM driver
i noticed improvement with the updated driver. hopefully someone more knowledgeable about drivers from the GPU manufacturer vs the computer manufacturer can chime in

Steam forces you to update games unless you are already in offline mode when the update is pushed, doesn't it?

@tribal notch I updated SpaceCore, GMCM, and Dynamic Game Assets as I hadn't brought them up to date and Market Day worked beautifully! Everything loaded fine plus the disgruntled customers made me laugh. I'll be recommending it a lot to other players!
I'm not sure if this is a mod issue because I haven't had this kind of problem before with my mods in other save files. This has never happened before, and I am SO frustrated! I can't get a brown chicken for the life of me. I've reset dozens of times and it's only giving me white chickens. I even downloaded a mod that lets you choose what color animal you want/need and after selecting BROWN, it's still giving me white. I don't know what to do at this point 
are you using any texture replacement for the chicken?
I am, but it's up to date, and I've been using it for years without this problem
the only thing i can think of is you accidentally setting the same texture for both the white and brown chicken

It could be, I thought about that; I'm just a little afraid of going forward with the days in case it is a white chicken. But I guess there's really no other way to find out

It would show what it is
A patch export makes a copy of the stuff in your content folder and puts it into a folder named patch export in your Game folder (same level as the Mods folder)
The way to do it is to load up a save, then type patch export <FILEPATHOFTHING> and hit return
You will need to have Content Patcher installed to do this

@mental quail I discovered the last version of smapi I used before it stopped working was 3.9.2 for 1.5.4. I just downgraded using steam depot following a YouTube tutorial, but even the vanilla wouldn't run even though that version did run in the past, so it's probably something wrong in my PC. I'm done trying for now, maybe in the future I can get it to run.
Did the patch export cause a new folder to show up with files in it?
If not, can you post a log where you tried it?
I wasn't able to figure out how to do the patch export
Also I just checked another save file and the colors are correct, so this seems to be an issue with just this save

Today I installed a couple mods into my game, including the Kid's Treehouse and The Farmer's Children, which I assume are not working properly
I noticed that upon opening the game my child was not aged up even though I've had her in this save for a couple years, and when looking at Smapi saw this error message:

if anyones around to help out real quick, i just went to move something with farm foundry and added one new mod and now whenever i try to load my save it just throws me back to the load screen

If you replaced one mod with the other it's possible bad things happened in the middle

fwiw, you can actually test two isntances of smapi on the same computer. they take 4gb of ram each but it's doable

PyTK and SpaceCore are the two main mods around that touch the save serializer, and I don't have a good sense of what PyTK does. I've been told all SpaceCore does is some fiddling around with custom objects maybe?

when i moved what i moved in farm foundry i placed it over an already existing path, and the same path was pasted on top of said path so i guess it fucked the whole thing
