I'm pretty certain, I just updated a few other mods in the same folder and the suggestion to update those are gone

I feel like there's a quote or pinned, but which mods is it that drastically increase load time? Was it PyTK and Custom Music? Ik most mods are shifting to SAAT and Map Layers for that reason.

Hey! This is my first time using mods for stardew and I am having trouble getting this mod to work https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/5253?tab=description I unzipped the mod into the mods folder and am running the game with smapi through steam but there is no option to upgrade the cabin at robins and the console command won't work either. If anyone has any ideas to try please let me know!

I've got a question for y'alls. Whenever I do Abigail's 2-heart event, it fails to show her portrait or the text of her reactions when you're playing Prairie King with her. I don't know if there's a mod causing this issue, which mod it may be if so, or if this is a vanilla issue (I can't remember the last time I specifically launched vanilla SDV for any reasons, so).

This is with the mod "Easy Prairie King" (paraphrased, I tend to rename my folders for brevity) disabled. Enabled, I don't know what the log would say. I can run it through enabled if it's necessary.

If my knowledge serves me right, whatever mod is replacing your tools' graphics is not properly aligned. That is, the axe animation is clipping into another tool's assigned graphics area. If you're feeling adventurous, you can attempt to correct it yourself, or notify the mod author about this discrepancy and politely ask them if they can correct it for a future release. ^^
Also, replying to myself: disregard the heart event thing, that's shaping up to be a vanilla bug.
Is East Scarp scafe in terms of adding to an excisting scave in terms of, scay, JSON shcuffles?
pretty sure it adds items, but you can just check the mod folder for a JA content pack

I'm using the automation mod, I've noticed when I take things from the chest into my inventory, my bags don't auto-grab. Wondered if anyone knew of a solution or maybe another mod that might improve on that by chance?

is that in multiplayer? you have a JA mod that adds fences and if it's in multiplayer it could be a mod mismatch. if not in multiplayer, then maybe a JA ID shuffle for the fences, if that's possible
i don't see any mentions of the fence tilesheet in the log though

i don't think it's related to any recolor. i'd try removing and reinstalling the JA mod that adds the fence

i know about the custom ore nodes problem though so its a known problem i found the solution to yesterday but the fish are my primary concern

cause the fishing errors make the price and name of the fish jumble but the fish sprite stays as it should be

every fish that shares a location with a vanilla fish might be spontaniously added

i should just mention now that i use vortex and while i know its not perfect for stardew modding its hard for me to update mods without it or remember to update them

There are no JA fish loading to the orchard . Not sure of that helps though.
What happens if you disable more new fish?
I kinda am curious about a Data/Objects now but I'm not sure that's the exact name for the patch export.

hey guys im sorry to bother yall but i need some help before i rip my hair out. i installed the mods i wanted to play with via vortex on my pc and they all work. now i did it on my wifes pc and smapi crashes right after the window opens before i can identify the error message. anyone who experienced this?

I usually install my mods manually, and I know that when my BF tried to install mods through Vortex it didn't work at all.

I have Gwen's Medieval Buildings, as well as her AT version of them. In spring y1, it was set at the texture I desired. When spring turned to summer, it changed to another texture. Is this an intentional feature of AT?

If it is an intentional feature, how do I turn it off? The only thing available in AT's config is disabled textures.

In extend to that:
I used medieval building and the at package but it didn't change anything by default.
Though I think I added the at some time after the first spring.
On another map I use elles seasonal as replacer and both elles and medieval as at and it changed the default coop/barn to a variant used by medieval when summer hit.
I'm afraid I can't provide a smapi log (if needed). WiFi is down and my phone doesn't get a stable connection to the pc with a cable
It's hard to explain, but it's how AT works. However it can be solved by merging all four seasonal variants together in one image and then change "Seasons" in texture.json to "[Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter]"
But I'm still unsure if that would work on buildings, I've only used AT for craftables so far
oh good, faced with more merging that I don't know how to do 
that's unfortunate tho, I would hate to do all my paths in one style, only for the changing season to be like "nah bitch" and ruin it

hey all, having an issue in multiplayer where me and my partner cant enter the barn/coop
just get the door sound spammed when we try to enter. only happens in multiplyaer i am able to enter in single, was wondering if anyone had any idea why

After a few tests I found out that the error only occurs in multiplayer, in single player everything works normally

I have an issue with mods Ridgeside Village and Way back Pelican town. I had no issues with Pelican Town buildings and the mod ran perfectly. I downloaded RSV for the first time and all my Pelican Town building changed back to vanilla. I have reached out to both modders on Nexus and they both claim its not their mod but user error? Hi, so I am trying to mod my stardew and i am trying to download the SMAPI and everytime i try and download it to the folder i need to it shows this. I don't know what it means or how to fix it
I was using A Toned Down Stardew Vally and Way Back PT just fine until I downloaded RSV. Once I removed RSV the building reverted back to normal. Soooo confused
most likely a loading order or config issue i'd guess honestly. both mods (way back pt and a toned down stardew valley) edit the buildings as far as i know
in the log a toned down is coming after way back pt, meaning most of what is shown is likely from toned down

I really need help lol. I’m using mods but I’ve played with them before with no issue, and now whenever I press “load” or “co-op” in game, it’s basically just stuck with a messaging popping up saying “StardewModdingAPI is not responding”. I’ve waited a long time to see if it would resolve itself and it just stays not responding. I’ve closed and reopened the game multiple times and have the same issue every time. I can create a new game just fine. There doesn’t seem to be any errors popping up in SMAPI. Idk what the problem is.

did you use any xnb mods at some point? you could try verifying your files on steam if you haven't already
assuming steam is the same on mac, right click stardew in steam, go to properties, local files, and click verify integrity of game files

hmm those are JA items. error handler shouldve fixed that issue then but i guess it didnt for some reason? yeah you probably need to write some random image to that sprite location then with CP

i deleted all the JA items and the fence mod so should that still be happening
well the item is in your savefile
you dont need to know how to code
just copy any CP mod, replace content.json with the text atrivia gave you, put a png in thats big enough and change its name to the name in content.json and then change the stuff in the manifest.json

Hey, my SMAPI is being weird. I'll upload a log when I can but would anyone know offhand why some of my farmer to florist seeds are not in the files? Allium, for instance, I can see in my mods that it has the picture of the plant and seeds, but there's no object itself.
can it be any png?
i'd just make a big png that's entirely pink or red, a colour that stands out so you see the offending items ingame very easily

Hello all, I am having a Stardew modding issue and I'm wondering if anyone might know how to fix it...Yesterday I updated my mods and played the game fine right after, but today when I try to launch the game through the stardew modding api all I get is a white screen and it says its not responding. I've been troubleshooting for about an hour and I'm lost. It says all my mods are fine and updated. Any suggestions?

I had loading problems as well yesterday. Decided to turn off a lot of the windows background processes and today it loaded quite quickly. It just takes a bit longer to load into the save file.
I’ve left it open for almost an hour now. It’s the only thing going in the task manager so any other recommendations? Lol
The smapi window? Err honestly if it takes that long I usually just close it and boot it up again 
Turn off the processes running in background, you can do that in your windows settings under apps (there's also a quick guide on how to if you Google 'turn off background apps on windows 10')
And remove either SVE or RSV. Your pc might not be able to handle both

Honestly, I don't know if this is a problem or not. But when I redownloaded SMAPI the stardew modding api. exe has the adobe illustrator logo next to it... could that be causing a problem?
that's actually a json file, you've just hidden file endings
for some reason you've associated json files with adobe illustrator

That's the .config file which Adobe Illustrator also associates with it's own configuration files

My only advice is find a way to remove PyTK. If you can remove the mods which depend on it, your load time will be way faster
You can test it out to confirm. Remove PyTK and see if it loads and what breaks.

For Ridgeside (RSV) users. I had a issue when I downloaded this mod because I also use a freeze time cheat. I found out that I cant freeze time in RSV because it does not spawn items in the forest (monsters, rocks, artifacts...etc.). Now when I enter on a new day and made sure I did not freeze time, I entered the forest and now monsters are spawning but no items are on the ground....nothing except forage items. Deleting the mod and reinstalling did not fix this issue. Any idea what I can do as I need the artifacts from this area to complete quest. Thanks

That is odd, I don't see anything out of the ordinary in your mod list
all i have is expanded, ui suite, and rsv. Granted, they are big mods but they have always worked fine on my pc
Maybe try confirming if your game loads SMAPI without any mods, like rename the Mods folder temporarily
SDV/SMAPI could just be bugged, and if that's the case you might need to repair SDV and reinstall SMAPI
i took all the mods out earlier today and that didnt work for me. ive uninstalled and reinstalled stardew and smapi multiple times and ive also reset the content files. i might try to do i combination of all of it really quick and maybe thatll help but idek

I was trying to download the other pet sounds mod so I can get the correct sound for Leafeon cat replacer
That mod might be using an outdated way of patching sounds. In the current version of SDV mods are using SAAT.API
so are there any pet sound replacer mods?

There are other mods which deal with sound so if you wanted to put in the effort you can possibly take that as an example and you'd just have to target pet sounds instead of whatever they're doing
It's all one big sound bank, so making a pet sound mod shouldn't be too different from other sounds

i have rustic town interiors downloaded, but for some reason it does not change the hay bench. it's still bright unlike the image on the mod's page. not sure what other mod is interfering with it. if i turn "town interiors" to true for my vibrant pastoral recolor mod it fixes it, but the vanilla furniture for the villagers houses overlap the modded ones
I'm not knowledgeable on how it would work but I'm willing to try since there doesn't seem to be a reliable enough sound mod out
If you grab a patch summary you can see if the mod's patches are being applied, or if another mod is patching over it
While you're at the location, type patch_summary in the console and it should show what's being applied there

Vortex doesn't play nice with Stardew mods, it eats a lot of files and sometimes doesn't install them correctly. It's better for manual downloads.
And as to why your mods aren't working... Stop using vortex, get a fresh copy for your mods, then come back here 
thats confusing, seems like vortex launcher and nexus are one in the same, like they really seem to work well togeather but it doesnt work with stardew
Automatic download in Nexus is for vortex, Manual is, well, manual. Just don't use vortex 
And yeah, bummer it doesn't work for SDV. Works great for other games though.
Also tldr, Nexus is the host site for mods, Vortex is the complimentary game launcher. Vortex doesn't play well with all games, including Stardew

i don't use npc adventures, but be sure to check both the content pack folder and the npc adventures framework mod folder for the config file
I meant NPC adventures folder not content pack's folder, config.json wouldn't be there inside content pack folder because it won't load.
ok download fresh verisons of the mods, and put them in the folder, but it still is crashing

hm, the last messages are completely normal loading so nothing to go on really. honestly i'd try disabling pytk + tmxl (by adding period . to the beginning of the mod folder names or moving them out of the Mods folder), temporarily at least to see if it helps. you don't seem to have anything too important depending on them
if that doesn't help, then just removing mods until it works i guess

nope still crashes, i dont get it, i play with some of the bigger most popular mods like expanded, ridgeside and east scarp with a few other smaller ones that i have used before. so if someone could walk me through what went wrong please taht would be greatly appriticated
Install content patcher
i suggest removing everything except those big mods, see if it crashes and then add new mods until it crashes again. if the crash is consistent then it's possible to narrow it down to a mod at least
content pack type mods (those for content patcher, json assets etc.) are probably less likely to cause the crash than dll type mods

Can you upload your SMAPI log to https://smapi.io/log (see instructions on that page) and share the link here?
on the log site the content pack type mods are listed under a separate section for their frameworks, like the Content Patcher 1.25.0 section has all the content patcher content packs grouped under it, same for Farm Type Manager 1.15.0 etc. they are less likely to cause the crash (especially without any errors) because they have more limitations in what they can do compared to the non-content pack type mods

So, I was looking at the wrong folder. I've now gotten the legacy packs enabled, and Shiko NPC Adventures running, but it seems to load and not function. I am not sure what's not firing
Does anyone know of a mod like item bags? i can't use that because my game crashes

You need to download all the required mods for SVE to work, you can check the requirements on the page

hi i'm kinda new to all this modding stuff and I wanna make sure i'm not royally messing up my game?? I installed smapi and the content patcher mods so i could get the seasonal outfits mod to work but the game is launching oddly? It's super zoomed in (not in the way where I have the wrong resolution i've tried messing with that and that didn't fix it) and the bottom part of my screen is glitching out and lagging while i'm playing but only that section?? I have no idea what I did wrong or if my computer just can't handle the mods :/

If your resolution is messed up try deleting startup_preferences This can be found on Windows at %appdata% > Stardew Valley > it's in that folder, or C:\Users\Yourwindowsnamehere\AppData\Roaming\StardewValley or for Mac can be found at ~/.config/StardewValley To get here you'll want to go to your desktop, then in the menu bar select Go -> Go to Folder...
is there a way to have auto mod updates instead of doing it manually?
Not in a way that doesn't risk breaking your mods.

Hi ive tried to install Chic Cute Kitchen Mod, but it wont work everytime I try, I had to make a new folder with ContentAndMaps, was wondering what I am doing wrong?? The bed and fireplace also sometimes dissapears when I try..

It's a common issue, sadly most of the people who knows a quick fix for it are offline

can you go into the installer directory, go to internal/windows/SMAPI.installer.exe
double click on that
