@bright ocean Just thought I'd reach out and ask for permission to share my Downtown Zuzu edits to match Eemie's grass? I'm no modder or even a graphic person, I just quickly (and rather amateurly lol) edited some of the DZ tilesheets so I wouldn't be blinded by vanilla grass anymore 😅 I think they match enough with Eemies to be adequate until/if a proper recolour is released so thought I may as well ask.

so I want to get a custom greenhouse on inmersive Farm 2 remastered. I know it has their own greenhouse but I don't like it. I have been thinking of some ways to brute force it. One would be remplaze the IF2 greenhouse file with the mod greenhouse (same localization and name). The other one would be deleting the greenhouse file on IF2 so that the game just chooses the mod one
Does anybody has experience with this?

take the .tbin or .tmx file of the greenhouse you want and replace the one in the IF2 folder with that. rename your greenhouse file to the name that was originally in the if2 file

Anyone experienced the game crashing when they tab out while it's loading the night menu?
It happens very consistently, though when I tried to intentionally reproduce it I somehow couldn't get it to happen.
No errors in the SMAPI console before it crashes, nothing in the logs (it just stops), and only happens when it's loading the night menu- if I tab out at another time it's fine.

I've just found about yellogs furniture mod and would really have it but nexus deleted it? I'm on their tumblr rn and it just leads me to the nexus site again any solution to get the files elsewhere?
I don't use the mod but, if they deleted it on nexus it may be they don't want the mod used/distributed anymore
Unless it was nexus deleting their mod (?) for some reason, in which case no idea.
You could always ask! Most tumblr blogs let you do that
they deleted their mods off of nexus because of a new policy

If it freezes for a few seconds then works normally, it may be because of pytk or tmxl. But if it never loads it may be a mod is causing trouble
sometimes when i leave it for like 3 minutes it loads but sometimes it doesn’t

You could also use launching with smapi versus launching with the stardew valley icon. If you use steam, both are in the stardew valley folder.

You can use a mod manager to create different profiles for different farms

reinstalling SMAPI will not help
(and it generally wouldn't help with any issues, if your game loads fine)
So should I just not bother then?

I believe [DGA] Farmer to Florist is messed up and you need the JA version
I'm in a SDV co-op game and having issues with joining on mac. When I join in, the character doesn't show up and I'm stuck in my bed, but I can see tools when I scroll over to them. We're hoping to avoid having to update smapi because we had to do a bunch of workarounds to let mac install smapi (and it is denying access again when we try to update it). If anyone has experienced anything similar it would help, thank you!

@grim wadi WoL should work fine on existing saves, it just changes the vanilla perks to modded ones. The only thing that isn't retroactively applied is in cases of professions that count how many times you've done certain things. So for example, Ecologist and Gemologist will not count any forage/minerals collected before installing the mod.

checking the main Artisan Valley mod to see if that's the problem
yep, seems to be the problem
the remaining ones probably aren't errors, like for the Pistachio Ice Cream you need both the ice cream machine mod and whatever mod adds pistachios. Not having those is fine, you'd just miss that one recipe.
Yeah I keep having that error too lol, it took me a while to realize the pistachio comes from boarding house which I don't have

I tried duping a file, it didn't appear in loaded, do I need to turn off cloud saves on steam? Nvm still doesn't appear, I changed the farm's name already

I did that already, ima boot it up again rn, I also tried changing the id after my file's name, just added 1, changed the names in the old files too
If it didn't work I was gonna try booting up steam itself again assuming it might work somehow
The game saves progress when the in-game day ends, i.e., when the farmer goes to bed, collapses from exhaustion, or collapses at 2am. All progress during a day is lost if the player quits the game without ending the day. In multiplayer, the game saves after all players click through the prompts at end of day and wake up in the morning.

I can't remember atm if its used more, but if you only get 1 result / cant find more, then there should be no issue

Hey! I just joined the discord, but have been playing stardew for awhile now. I just have a question about getting a mod to work. The mods in question are the PPJA mods (Fruits and Veggies, More Trees, More Flowers, Artisan Valley). I've been using these mods for a long time in my personal save file and they've worked great. The problem started when I made a shared server with my gf. I got her to download all the same mods as me so we could use them in our shared server, and all the PPJA mods work fine for her, but for some reason when ever i harvest any of the added crops or trees or flowers, they're always the wrong item. Not just the wrong icon and/or wrong name, but the complete wrong item, with a different selling price as well. I've tried all the troubleshooting options listed on the mod page and i still have this issue on our shared farm. the most baffling part to me is that all the mods continue to work perfectly fine on all my personal save file farms, and the mods also work perfectly fine on my gfs side of our shared farm. this is rlly my last resort i really don't know how to fix it lmao. any help would be greatly appreciated! 🙂

Anytime you change your JA mods you can risk a shuffle. In multiplayer, you need to have exactly the same mods in exactly the same order as your friends.

To debug the issue, I need logs from all of you, or at least you and the host. I've played SVE mulitplayer with a windows user but it didn't require anything special.

that means the last time you installed smapi you used sudo
use sudo to delete. Don't use sudo when installing again
When we opened the installer without sudo, we get a 'permission denied' error. I'll try to find the message, but I think that was it

Can't find any host log errors, and mods are exactly the same after double checking which makes sense since we have a shared file with all the mods we used

Range Highlight might be fine to have different, Love of Cooking most likely isn't
The weird thing about that is the other windows users who don't have range highlight/exp bars don't have that issue. You might be right on the love of cooking though. I think when the players had it but the host didn't, it was fine
Maybe it's just a weird thing with host status
Love of cooking adds a bunch of items, so you can't have a mismatch or the crops go weird
I see. Would that affect the player when they spawn? My assumption is that once the player interacts with the item things start to get funky

I really don't think Love of Cooking can be different on different players—it changes up enough that everyone should have it.
I'm not sure if this is the right place or not so please let me know, I'm using the Love of Cooking mod as well as SVE and ridgeside and a few others. When I get to what I think is level 10 cooking, the game freezes when you finish the day and all I see is a black screen and unable to do anything. I think I'm supposed to pick a cooking talent but it bugs out.

Not sure, might be something in the pile of updates?
Most of them look okay-ish to not update but I can't really be sure, it's best practice to stay fully updated because sometimes mods rely on other mods' updates

The only weirdness I've seen is .NET 5.0 not getting along with Macs on pre-Catalina OSs
Most of the M1 issues seem to have solved by the switch to .NET 5.0
Very old Macs (think 2012-ish) might have weird graphics driver issues as well

Hmm, can you hit a selection? I suppose you might want to read the thing to pick it, but unfortunately this sounds like a bug I'm not sure how to fix, so you can either try to move past this via things like trying to select the menu, or you can report the bug and see if the author knows a fix (and it's unclear to me if it's Love of Cooking or Spacecore having an issue, or a more complex mod interaction)
However, the authors might not be able to figure out what's wrong without further testing
And it might take a while

anyone know how i can fix this? i'm trying to get the last few achievements in my game (catch every fish, cook every recipe, ship all items) but the remaining collectibles are items from mods and i have 0 idea on what they could be as they're shadowed out with the "???". ive uninstalled all the mods (SVE & stardew aquarium) so i can get the achievements through the base game, but im unable to launch into my save in-game as it keeps looping and instead get this error in SMAPI

I don't understand why this is happening. I don't have VPR so thats not changing the floor, I have ony one floor mod (the matching rustic walls and floors mod). I can't change the floor using AT. Any suggestions?

ohh i see, i did not follow this, no - i initially wanted to delete just the mod file, hop in game and make i get the achievements, then add the mod back into the folder as i still wanted to continue playing with sve afterwards

I have a problem that’s similar to Supah’s, but for me, my Smapi is saying that a couple of my mods have crashed on entry, the game failing to launch, and several mods have been skipped because they’re “not a smapi mod”. I don’t want to flood the chat with pictures.

not sure if you fixed it, but that happens if you remove a custom npc and don't have the ErrorHandler mod that smapi installs. it removes problematic npc data from the savefile and the save file loads normally after you've saved once with the error handler installed. some npc data like friendship points are kept in the save though, so not all progress is lost

Urg. Okay, once again I am asking for Greenhouse help: I am using SVE with the Immersive Farm. I am trying to replace the greenhouse with BennyB's Divine Greenhouse. It kinda works, but the entry point is inside a wall, so I can't move anywhere. Any advice to fix?

there's a config in the IFR2 folder with settings to turn the greenhouse off, switch both to true

Hey everyone, thank you so much for the work you do here. I had a quick question. My husband and I are playing on LAN together and he has been having some issues. He's been having problems picking up items and getting disconnected. I have a lot of mods, so I was wondering if there was any in particular that might cause something like this? Or if its just the amount of mods itself? I'm 99.9999% sure we have the same mods, except for CP/cosmetic mods that shouldn't effect the other. I was trying to get his game up and running in a hurry, so it's very possible I missed something! hm. i wonder how the greenhouse warps work. the farm maps have a map property for the default location of the greenhouse, but there doesn't seem to be any warps to greenhouse. the greenhouses itself have a greenhouse->farm warp inside them
can you take a picture of where you get stuck? or get the tile coordinates

I don't see anything wrong with your map, you don't have the decayed building cause you fixed the greenhouse already and since they're movable now it didn't move when you switched farm layouts I suspect

reset terrain mod and noclip mod can help you move those and robin can fix the buildings

Reset Terrain Features (https://smapi.io/mods/#Reset_Terrain_Features) is a mod that lets you reset, clear, or generate everything that spawns on a map using an in-game menu. That's especially useful when changing maps mid-save, as the debris will otherwise use the old layout (causing things like trees in the water or bushes blocking exits).
noclip mode is a mod too, you can find it on nexus

and normally there's no need to do anything about the loading order, just install the mods however you want

if you don't mean to continue to use vortex, it's probably easiest to clear the whole mods folder and start from the beginning (including reinstalling smapi)

I downloaded the SMAPI installer, but when I try to install, it says "Error - Can't find the Stardew Valley's apk, did you install it?" I absolutely have it installed, but through the google play store, has anyone had the same problem or know what to do about it?

If you followed the installation guide it should work, especially since it's the Google Playstore version. Maybe try reinstalling the game?
hello does anyone have any good mod manager cuz im losing my mind
i have over 200 mods and im getting violent with figuring out what doesn't work with what
generally mod managers seem to cause more issues than they're worth with stardew; most modders will recommend doing things manually to avoid problems. vortex definitely causes issues, possibly the moddrop one does too but i can't say for sure.
that said, if you have specific issues/errors feel free to ask abt them! be sure to post smapi logs w the errors, there's lots of knowledgeable folks here who can help

you're missing some required mods, and if you check the red messages at the top of the log you can see what they are, for example SVE isn't loading correctly: Stardew Valley Expanded Music 1.14.8 because it requires mods which aren't installed (ZeroMeters.SAAT.Mod)
I'm installing missing mods right now, I'll check the log in a second to figure out what causes more problems
the two mods that try to load the hairstyles asset are loaded from these folders: Mods\[CP] Indie's Female Farmer Overhaul, Mods\[CP] Pencilstab's Hair

that Changes to other mods folder is from garden village probably? if so, you're supposed to overwrite the original mod files with the GV files (but they might be outdated)
so should I delete the changes to other mods?

it's a summer crop, the seeds are probably at pierre by default, but not sure about that (it also needs multi yield crop mod installed)

I've been directed here to see if any of you know of mods that tend to cause stuttering. It is happening in my game and rather annoying.
i know pytk and any mods that use it to add higher res images tend to increase load times and maybe stuttering, at least in my experience

I do have a couple PYTK mods still but not many. What about things that change characters clothing like DSV?

updating your mods (such as ES, RSV) will help a lot (since that removes the dependency on PYTK). Also removing buildables mods (from TMX)
they are all updated. buildables.. will have to look into those
Spritemaster also causes some weird stuttering for me as well. Still need to see if I can fix that by messing with the config options.
not sure exactly what buildables means. I don't have spritemaster.

i found that lux's food mod and dcburger's portrait mod, which both use pytk, were very performance-heavy, those two can def cause long loads and stuttering. dsv was fine for me tho so ymmv

Sounds like you've already replaced your game files, delete that and verify files in steam to get those back that's how you do it right? then pick the cp ones.

it's a mistake in the mod, the mod folder has a content.json file that has a line that reads "Format": "1.23.0",, the 1.23.0 needs to be changed to 1.19.0 (the mod might still not work if it uses features that need newer format version, but you can try at least)

I think i may have stumbled onto a solution i wanted to share.
I play on PC with a controller with the latest SMAPI installed.
I tried all the basics, uninstalled smapi and mods, and rebooted. Did the control panel priorty settings and affinity CPU 0 uncheck all with no luck.
When I launched SDV with SMAPI and mods reinstalled, I had FORGOTTEN to plug in my controller and noticed the game is running fine.
I just tested and found that conversely, when the controller was plugged in first and then launched SDV, the lag returned.
I feel this may be an issue with big picture mode, which I went ahead and disabled on my end and have not had any issues since.
Not sure how many other people are getting any stuttering issues, but I have also not played since like 1.2 or something.

I need to add a new stats monitor to try to properly debug these things. I'm not sure if it's in scope for this version though.
PPJA DGA is obviously broken, but I cannot figure out what is going on with PPJA in general. paradigmnomad came out of retirement to update it to DGA (with a script) and then left a message saying that pathoschild will take over maintaining it. I checked GitHub, the last commit was in October of last year and it is still broken. Is someone actually maintaining ppja and is planning on fixing the DGA version? All I can find online is messages from people saying "do not use the dga version" but no one seems to know what is going on long term with the project. I figure that 1.6 will probably affect DGA quite a lot, is that what is making people hesitate to update it?
I also checked, and pathoschild has never made a single commit to PPJA. Could be it's being done somewhere else (perhaps not even open sourced) but the behaviour does not seem to check out with the note left by paradigmnomad.
You'd have to ask Pathos about that, probably
@tired brook Could you help? Are you maintaining, or will you be maintaining the PPJA suite? If not, do you know who is the maintainer, if anyone?

I've been using a bunch of PPJA mods with no problems. I'll have to scroll up to see what's wrong
I'm not actively maintaining PPJA yet. I'll be looking into rewriting & updating it when the next major game update is released though, since it'll allow adding most items without needing a framework like DGA.

You can only have one farm, I never have understood why people want multiple farm maps

Yeah, there are mods that make other places farmable
But in terms of the technical side, you only get one farm type
i like the idea to have more than one farm map, so you can grow way more and have more space for barns and such

You can try removing the mod
Not sure if it's already added stuff that might cause issues though
I already went through the other cutscenes/diolouge i think that if i uninstall the mod it may currupt diolouge and maybe the story
but im not sure
I added and removed that mod no issue when I saw how it affected the map
Just quit the game instead
