Optionally just rename the SVE folder and put a . At the beginning of it

Okay hold your horses buddy. You don't need to remove absolutely everything. Most of them are frameworks, without expansions they don't do anything on their own.
They're meant to stay in your folder.

oh I didn't realize I still had befriend marlon in there. I don't think it's compatible with museum expansion. I meant to take it out.

well, let's hope it fixes it. i don't think there are any conflicts? DSV probably just edits the sprites and/or portraits after it
it does. also I have looking for love and with the three of them, I'm not sure if I configured something wrong. if I did, it would be to their portraits or sprites. would that cause an error?

Ok after wasting my weekend, I still can't get it to work properly. I guess there is still some updating to make, many mods clash with other mods who worked perfectly fine together. I'm not good enough to see whats actually wrong here 😦

He is really probably the best person to help with that since oom errors shouldn't be happening anymore for someone with 16GB of RAM, or whatever it was you said you have.
No I have enough ram and the 64 bit version. depending on which mods are creating trouble the Error changes. For now I had trouble with UI Info suite 2, Medival joja interior, Rustic Town Interior

I don't know why, but I used the links from Nexus for Child2NPC that were provided on the Farmers child page. I didn't know what to do with the Github version so I took the unoficial version instead. But after updating, smapi don't register the farmers child anymore

@tired brook Hello Pathoschild, I wanted to start playing again after the last update of SVE. I play with quite a lot mods but they all worked well together. I try to get the game to work since friday but some mods seems to clash with one another. SO far I had troubles with UI Info suit 2, Medival Joja Interior, Rustic Town Interior and Nayrie's Portrait Mod Vanilla and SVE. I'm currently remodding the game step by step but the problem still occurs. I have 16GB Ram and the 64bit version installed so oom Error shouldn't be a problem. Make sure you aren't on the compatibility branch (legacy, which is for computers that can only run 32-bit). It will be where you opt in to betas.

cp stands for content patcher. It's a common framework used for adding or replacing stuff in the game instead of editing the content files directly, which is what we call xnb modding and tends to break games and corrupt saves.

Custom Furniture adds furniture without replacing existing furniture, but it's on its way out.

does anyone have the stardew valley mod called Stardew Valley Expanded? I'm trying to install the deutsch language pack and even when i manually go through each sub folder of a sub folder of a sub folder and replace each file personally - instead of a bulk replace, it still errors out and saying sprite spawnpoints are missing, removing sprites from the game, the error in smapi asks if i've removed a custom npc mod. the only instructions i can find are to replace the data files with the ones in the language pack, but i only get errors so far

For Industrial, it's the first file. For Country, it's the second.

So a lot of your mods are still compressed and won't work like that.
They need to be extracted like the ones on the top

For a .zip file, just right-click (or long-press on Android) it and choose the option like extract or uncompress. For .rar and .7z, you need to install third-party software first, like 7-zip https://7-zip.org on Windows, Keka https://keka.io on macOS, PeaZip https://peazip.github.io on Linux, or ZArchiver https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.zdevs.zarchiver on Android.

seems like i did have two versions, im gonna try and delete the files i used when there was a specific version of smapi i had to use. and make the file direction what it would be normally

Yeah, after you extract the mod, I would delete the compressed ones. (winrar ones)
(looks to me that the audio engine doesn't like certain computers. OpenAl will bypass that)

Yeah, unless you or someone want to do an unofficial update, people may need to wait a bit, I'm thinking. You can maybe reach out to Flashshifter either here or in the SVE discord server though and see if he has any insight on getting the game working with the translation that exists though.
It tentatively sounds like an issue with SAAT, since SVE migrated to using it recently. Can you join the SVE Discord (there's a link on the SVE mod page), post a summary of the issue + log link with error + those task manager screenshots in the #bug-reporting channel, and ping SgtPickles (the SAAT developer) on the message?
I think you may have a mod conflicting so being able to see your mod list via a log might help.

I know this is a common problem, but i swear i tried everything i found online ( from restarting my computer, to redownloading the files, to running Smapi with and withou mods, running smapi from windows and from steam, to deleting startup preferences, to update my graphic card, change 3d settings, change quality graphic setting on the app, download .net files and many more i forget) but i still run into the same problem. Smapi Opens, runs for a few second, tell me to wait for game launch then closes itself. You seem to be missing three key mods that SMAPI installs into the Mods folder.
which normally wouldn't keep the game from launching, but it may be a sign that smapi isn't installed correctly

When I edit texts and save n exit, I have to check it again since they sometimes turn into this weird, not the same font, sometimes crossed out text that wasn't how it originally looked.

The only times you have to drag and drop/replace anything is if they're xnb files, not cp. They're not recommended.

So I continued playing last night and disabled chest unloading in better chests or whatever but every time I would pick axe it would lag. Walk of life seems to be having some sort of error so I'm not sure if that's what it's from

Vortex tends to gradually poop itself with each mod update because I don't think it completely cleans up

Well, you can use your log, but there is also a mod called Mod Update Menu which can notify you assuming the mod has an update key.

Yes, all mods that affect gameplay must be downloaded for all multiplayer players. Only mods you don't need to have everyone use, are graphical / cosmetic only mods, like reskins

That usually means that a mod is installed directly into Mods instead of in a sub folder.
That can mess up a lot of stuff

Part of the issue with mod managers and SDV mods is how we have a lot of different ways to install mods. Not everything is just dropping it into the Mods folder.

Hey all, for walk of life skill prestige... I just prestiged three professions for the first time and it just kept the level 10 skill for each on the ribbon.... For the next time through, will it keep the next level 10 and only keep the level 5 if I choose a level 10 I have already prestiged?

to give an example though, for farming, you can take harvester then agriculturist. you then prestige and get harvester again, then get artisan
prestige again, get rancher then breeder
you don't have to do it in that order but thats how the branching path works

personally, I started from scratch
played the vanilla game for an in-game year, took a break, downloaded a bunch of mods that I couldn't make work together and got frustrated, took and even longer break, then deleted everything and started over

If I use the debug clearchildren command since I think I've broken something and two of my children are now invisible, will that reset the ability to have children again with that spouse? The only thing I did to the maps was take off some additional rooms that I wasn't going to use (and prevent my baby from wandering into those rooms) and fixing the warp points to only have the main entrance of the farmhouse...
The additional rooms were added on via the farmhouse mod.
