you can remove the config.json file and launch the game again (with the mod installed) to generate a fresh config
or at least that's the way it usually works
what happened is i did just reinstall smapi from the installer and it resets the config
i then added the new button in the graphic First
then in the text
but then the graphic part disappeared again
but i decided to just launch the game
and everything worked

Hey, I'm trying to use a portrait mod for the wizard (compatible with romancable rasmodius) but with sve instead. It doesn't seam to load but I know sdv comes after it in the list. If I put a z in front of the mod will it load properly?
Ah nvm, they have a different amount of portraits and sprites. I assume I can't brute force this like I do most things

Anyone know of a mod that stops me from accidentally harvesting from garden pots? I got Joys Of Efficiency which allows for auto harvest but there's no option to stop me from automatically harvesting from garden pots and the HarvestException part of the config file only applies to crops that are on the ground.

if you go to talk to him when he uses the sprite, you can see what mods are patching the portraits and in what order in the smapi log
I already put the portrait at the bottom (using a Z since it works). Its using the vanilla sprite and I don't quite know if thats sve or romras
I checked sve and it has some code for when you have romras but it might not be working I guess since it's the sve supported version? Could be outdated
the z method can work, but it can also fail during gameplay depending on how the mods patch the portraits
but yeah, i suggest looking at the log. it shows you what mods patch what. or you can send the log here for others to look

Romancable tries to load assets that I can't even find and sve tries to load its assets but only when romras isn't found (I assume thats what false means)

i didn't notice this before, but generally if you want the mod to take priority it should come after the other mods you want it to override
(the mods folder structure isn't very reliable way to manipulate the load order, but if it worked before the grouping it's likely the issue)
My thoughts too. But the sub folder is at 2nd row above all my other mods, and the one that's on top is just my cheats folder..

I recently DLed 'Better Mixed Seeds' https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/3012 for a new playthrough, and the variety of seeds etc seems to be working fine. The issue that appeared: Some of the multiple harvest crops will grow to full size and then never produce fruit/veg.
Anyone have any ideas how to go about this?

what mod(s) is recommended to remove quality, unify colors, and stack items in the inventory? there are several options i think and not sure which one of them works best
i'm using quality smash myself. it works very well, but you have to throw items into a chest to use it
i guess it's more balanced that way, but i like doing it in the inventory
dont think it has to do anything with being balanced but rather that the smashing is applied when resorting the chest or something
tho tbh ever since i started using the bagpack mod i barely have a use for quality smash anymore anyway. i mostly use it to cope with challenging communitycenter bundles but the bundle bag basically has a smasher function build into it when it absorbs items.
so, question, some mods come zipped in an extra folder, and sometimes that causes problems, but if it isnt causing problems should I care? Just noticed SVE is coming in a 2nd folder but doesnt seem to be causing problems, unlike Grandpa's Farm which did
if the folder you're talking about has the same name as the nexus generated zip file name, then it can be a problem, because some file paths can become too long
neither of those should be having any issues, unless you're reaching the maximum filepath length, but in a default installation those mods shouldnt reach it
and being inside of another folder wont ever be the issue directly. smapi keeps scanning all subfolders untill it finds a manifest.
odd, because Grandpa's Farm wasnt registering when I started my game, kept loading normal farm, but when I took the 2 folders out of the folder it worked fine

tho i wonder which folders you removed, and if that results in events not working or something
so if you look in the Grandpa's Farm Zip the main folder is Grandpa's Farm, then if you open that folder you get [CP] Grandpa's Farm and [FTM] Grandpa's Farm, i just pulled CP and FTM into the Mods folder and deleted the now empty folder
SVE had the same thing where it had the normal SVE Folder and then a bunch of sub folders like CP, FTM JA, SAAT, and STF SVE folders
Also still trying to figure out what is wrong with this bed

Also, be sure you only have the game installed in one place
You could be changing the wrong mod folder.
Maybe search for core words instead of the whole "Oversized sleeve" since you might've renamed it or something. Try Sleeve or something similar
just go to your smapi log location, open the log and ctrl+f for "sleeve"
there will be a trace line that tells you the file path from where smapi is loading the mod from

with adopt and skin probably
so probably just ditch elles cat replacement as a mod, get adopt and skin and dump elles files into the asset folder. then just select whichever skin you want
(if you dont wanna do that, you could probably just swap the file names, assuming that they are png's)

It's maybe not the most ideal solution, but (depending on VPR is set up) I would just take the png from Rustic Country Walls and Floors and replace the image in VPR.
And then ask the authors to make them compatible.

Okay so my friend and I decided to play SVE. I gave him all of the mods that he need and sent him via mediafire link. THEN he launched SMAPImojgaklapi but he forgot to install stardew valley on steam. Then he realized and installed it. And now he cant open the game (game will launch after 5 minutes than crash). We tried with powershell, reinstalling xna, redistruibale c and everything else.
Tell him to delete everything and start over.

uninstall the game on steam, go to the folder where it was installed, delete everything in there and start over.
redownload the game, start it, check if its working. if it does, install smapi and see if smapi loads the game. if it does, add mods.
if it breaks at any point, come and ask
if you got smapi running at all you should have a log

I don't know you all can maybe try reverting to the version before... 1.5.4, I think? But that's the only way you'd be able to do multiplayer with mods now unless gigo gets a new PC.

Xna is only relevant if you have a machine that can't run the monogame version. Which is just 32-bit machines.

For a .zip file, just right-click (or long-press on Android) it and choose the option like extract or uncompress. Sve is a big mod I like it alot but I got too overwhelmed
during early game and up to community center completion it just directly integrates into vanilla, there isnt really anything to be overwhelmed by. just more people to talk to, some map adjustements and thats it
post/endgame it adds some stuff, but at that point you dont worry about the town anymore anyway

hihi, whenever i load up smapi, everything is bigger. i tried matching the DPI settings (which were the same, i didnt need to change anything) and deleting prefs. is there anything else i can do?
so i have multiple mod files (ex: my solo qol playthrough, extremely modded playthrough, etc). is there any way to differentiate the save files in the game bc sometimes i forget
