How do I update my SMAPI? It's not up to date so I can't use the mods I want
The Android version of the game is quite a bit different from other ports and so needs a custom version of SMAPI. See https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Installing_SMAPI_on_Android for details on getting started.
You won't be able to use the latest versions of things.

Your log looks fairly normal. What exactly is happening? Does it say something like No Response? Or does it crash straight to desktop?
It me again. I downloaded a bat cave and a shed mod. Bat works perfectly but the shed does not work at all. Do I need to do somethi g extra that I might have missed?

Game version 1.5.5 made it so you can decorate sheds in some fancy way
I tough I would be safe until 1.6 at least not breaking at 1.55

no i have the vanilla one
then you can ignore that bit of the instructions and just install the mod
although iirc it's a bit old and may have some quirks

You need to pick a Farm Cave mod
Two content packs want to load the 'Maps/FarmCave' asset (Farm Cave Variety and Hot Spring Farmcave). Neither will be applied. You should remove one of the content packs, or ask the authors about compatibility.

You can only use one of Farm Cave Variety and Hot Spring Farmcave. You have to pick.

It's got something to do with the multiplayer synchronization
i'm thinking it could be because of a mod we use called multipause that changes how time passes in multiplayer
I don't think it likes being paused when a new day is starting
that would make sense
It's hard to tell for sure, the error is a bit opaque
the log may be interesting to the author of that mod though
definitely. i think we can live without the mod for now so we'll uninstall and see what happens. thanks for the help!
I just noticed this today - I use the CJB Cheats and the Lookup Anything mods (among others), and they've been working fine. For some reason, I can't bring up their menus anymore (pressing P and F1, respectively). However, the CJB effects that I'd set are still active (freeze time indoors) - I just can't bring up the menu to make any changes.
I'm pretty sure Lookup Anything was working okay as soon as yesterday.
A few potential questions:
- Did you add or change any mods?
- Is your keyboard working well?
- Do you have a controller attached?
3 is a bit of a random one I'll admit
oh and 4. if you change the keybinds do they work now?
No changes. I updated Stardew Valley Expanded after it stopped working because I thought maybe that was the issue, but that didn't do anything. Keyboard is working fine. Controller is attached - now that you bring it up, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. If I quit out and restart, most of the time it works again. I haven't changed the keybindings to either mod.
I think there were a couple times a few days ago that Lookup Anything didn't work, but as with the controller I quit out and came back again, and most of the time that seemed to fix it. Today I quit out and restarted x4 and no success ๐ Maybe 5th time is a charm
you can probably use GMCM to change keybinding midgame
if you do that, does it start working?
I haven't heard of GMCM, Googling that now ๐

Hi all, I've never used mods (or discord) before, and I'm desperate to play the expanded mod! I've tried to follow the instructions and felt like I did it correctly, but now the game won't even open. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

- Did you install SMAPI with the installer and get green text at the end?
- Steam/GOG/Gamepass?
- Windows/Mac/Linux?

Specifically you should have smapi-internal in your Stardew Valley folder
You can get to your SDV folder there by going into Steam, right clicking game Manage > Browse Local Files
i copy and pasted the lauch options as instructed at the end of installing smapi

I think Ctrl+F lets you do a quick search across text files
if you can identify a looping error and delete the last 3000 of them, but leave in 1-10 or so, that is best

Does anybody know if any of these mods change/effect giving the sweet gem berry to old master cannoli? Im completely unable to interact and give it to him, tried on mutliple days on one of my saves that I havent given to him before.
the only one that i could think of would possibly be deepwoods? but even that just adds on an area and doesnt change much for the regular secret woods

Two things id like to note - I already know SVE is out of date (I try to update it every week or two due to the amount of small patches that are being updated every few days) and I'm aware that multiple spouses is causing issues, I might delete it.

Guys? Any android users here? I used 1.9.0 of mail framework and 1.6.0 producer framework for Android but it said I need smapi 3.9.0 on mail framework and not compatible in producer I already used the other versions I'm using smapi 3.7.6
yeah, that was my guess, gamepass has really weird permissions problems but usually they crop up earlier

Did you uninstall the game, delete the game directory. Reinstall the game. Then reinstall smapi
i haven't yet cause when i removed all my mods, i can start the game
but when i insert all my mods, it does that?
now i'm removing spritemaster and see if that's the issue
i got this mod where it changes his portrait and stuff but other than smile and neutral face it switches back to the normal portrait

Can't figure out shaved ice mod (reinstalled Fruits& veggies/more trees) ALSO champagne wishes and fizzy drinks PFM. Playing on mobile. seems to not load lots of input and output rules and no producer config for CW I believe...?

the only way you can use syrups in PPJA is to craft them in a producer
artisanal sodas - flower pack does exist. its hard to find and can be buggy however

honestly when you use PPJA its better just to use all the content packs so you dont run into issues like this

so you could check those for capitalization issues (i don't think there are any though), and then if the items or rules have any other requirements inside the json files of the mods i guess

So I should uninstall the fwippy pack since artisanal already adds the syrup
right so it's still broken grrr
Try changing config.toml for spritemaster, and setting TextureCacheEnabled to false
the faults I've seen are due to an error I introduced in the texture cache, so disabling it should fix those
difficult to say honestly. but sure you can try if it does anything

my local build has said crash fixed, of course, but it has a lot of other changes and I don't want to publish it until I test it a bit more

RSV makes loading a lot slower, but that's not spritemaster's fault
Just go to your log and click the link up top that shows the latest version
you don't have SVE installed. i recommend going through the install process again and loading the game to test if it works. if it doesn't, then we can troubleshoot more

my local build actually has optimizations geared specifically towards mods like RSV so that they load faster
My game loads are slow everytime I open stardew, open a save and going in and out of building

Yeah, that's just RSV.
there's a number of reasons it's slow (and why I'm working on SMAPI as well)
can i update mods on the terminal or i have to remove their folder and download the new ones?
one of the causes is that SDV in general has a terrible algorithm for generating macro-paths for NPCs, and RSV adds a bunch more maps
each extra map roughly doubles the time taken.

they should be compatible also atra doesn't like being pinged, you can just ask in the channel in general
you'll have to manually replace the files, but it's not necessary to remove the old mod folders before installing the updated version. it's just a bit safer to avoid merging old and new versions, in case some files were deleted for example
the only mods that spritemaster has an outright incompatiblity with are ones that rely on render targets. It's fixable but a pain. and most don't.
and you'll lose your mod config changes if you remove the old mod folder

alright, since free love and RSV should be okay, i've got some questions myself. free love continuously crashes upon start even after i've deleted, reinstalled, and overwritten it at least 4 times each. i thought it must have been one of my expansions, since i was dating characters from each. tried removing each, with no difference. then i wondered if maybe somehow, one of my retextures was screwing with it. nope, nothing there. and then i went through the code for free love to see if it was a bit messy, but it looks fine, so i literally have no clue whats going on. here's my log to see if anyone here gets the error code more than i do...

I took a close look and I think you might have to start playing mod binary search
try loading a save up with just Free Love, Save Backup, Error Handler, and Console Commands
and see if the error persists
If it does, send that log to aedenthorn (they have a server)
If it doesn't, then it's a mod conflict
And you can try removing mods to see if anything fixes it

then all you have to do is delete everything from the mod except the png. since he's romanceable already, the expressions will all work the same because the code is all the same
so put the png into portraiture, make sure it's configed to show that folder, and remove the unnecessary parts of the mod. simple dimple

the problem seems to be that the mod targets Portraits/Magnus instead of Portraits/Wizard for some of the patches in the content.json of the mod. SVE doesn't seem to create that asset and just uses the Portraits/Wizard. you could try changing the Magnus Targets to Wizard in the content.json to fix it

the version number in the manifest.json file of the mod 0.0.0 apparently and it can't be that. if it really is that in the mod originally, you could change any of the numbers to 1 for example to fix it

Weird thing is, we have our money and our items but the farm completely reset. Any fixes? I'd be happy to provide any other information but I really wanna restore this world.

After shearing, her skin should change to shearedsheep_[number] but instead it changes to the original vanilla sheared version? Hey folk, unsure of the protocol over here, but was sent by SVE folk since they were unsure. Had myself some new stuttering whenever going through any door/zone transitions on split-screen. Have reinstalled everything from scratch (including trying a different HDD, redownloading all mods again etc), issue persisting.
SMAPI log seems to be pointing at Json assets - it's trying to compare something on an E drive, which my system does not have..

Yeah, you'll experience some lag like that since they are large map patches
If you changed things via GMCM you should get one really big kick of a lag when they get applied but it should be fine afterwards, at least in my experience
yeah i got a couple big kicks of lag and then several smaller lag spikes, but then it seemed to settle down
This is an issue that has to do with when the skins update that I've yet to fix. They should switch to the sheared skin after a few moments, if all else fails likely it will update at the beginning of the next day. Let me know if it goes longer without updating, as that might be a different issue!

I've tried reinstalling the obb but I'm having the same audio issue. The Stardew is obtained from Google play and smapi Android is from github. Currently looking through the installed mods.
Does anybody know why modded stardew keeps not responding/lagging? I have a 3070, 32gb ram, ryzen 5900x. I feel like I should be able to run it no problem
The game wouldnt even load until I went into task manager > go to details > stardew modding api > set affinity > then unselected all but 1 CPU

make sure it's running off your graphics card (instructions at step 2)
that might have fixed it. still doesnt respond when first loading into the farm and lags a little but when I leave the house it seems to be okay
I've run a test and although it didn't change throughout the day when shearing took place, it indeed changed back to assigned skin after the next day started. Thank you so much for replying

Hey, I'm a bit new to modding Stardew Valley and could use a bit of help. I've downloaded SMAPI before (mostly for a few of the resources that are hard to get if you're playing a world where you just wanna chill for a bit) and it worked just fine, but that was almost a year ago. After I updated everything so I could use the Stardew Valley Expanded mod, SMAPI won't work. The command prompt box open for about the blink of an eye, then closes and nothing happens and I can't remember how I got it to work last time. (I'm on Windows, btw)

That's weird, cuz that version and the version on Nexus are of the same build.
What does it mean when smapi says No Idea what item is for json assets?

I've got a question, it might be quite silly but this is my first time using mods: if I download mods, can I pick which mods work in which save file? Like can i have a save file with 0 mods, and another with however many?
