Hi friends, so my SMAPI isn't starting and it's really ticking me off. There are a ton of weird files in my Stardew folder. Any idea what the issue is?

those files are normal - they're the dependencies the game bundles

also even if i do delete the game the files will still exist like the smapi files i've been installing i cant fully 100% delete it all the files are in all kinds of thingsw

I know the feeling. You can make conversions for personal use though if it's something you really need. (Can't do much for C# mods except look for unofficial updates or find a mod that does something similar.)

Also, it's the mod that loads last that takes priority when there's an edit-clash
I sometimes will just try to put a "z" at the beginning of the mod I want to take precedence.

I ended my spree on Moddrop's mod manager btw. It was more okay than Vortex, but I still wouldn't recommend it to someone new to modding.
Is it fine to temporarily remove big expansion mods and Json mods as long as you don't open a save using those mods?

I found a workaround via Medieval buildings but neither of them is able to reskin the Community Center

Another thing I totally forgot about. It's not a big deal, but sometimes there's a tile missing where one of the windows to the saloon should be at. I've noticed it happens whenever it's raining. I can upload my log, but any idea why that would happen?

The window tile on the original (that's missing on the recolor) is a bright white tile.
If I'm trying to fix the problem, would it be weird if I just copied the recolor tile and put that where the window should be at..? Idk if that makes sense.

I'm trying to use the unlimited player mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2213?tab=files) on mac. I think I have done everything I was supposed to do, but the video tutorial was on windows and some of the steps are slightly different. I was using a video because I've never done this before and am a little out of my depth. But when I go to add more cabins with robin, the option isn't there. I'm not really sure if there is anything anyone could suggest to help me, but if you have any ideas that would be very appreciated. Thank you <3
I'm using a mod called "Billboard anywhere" that allows you to read the calendar and notice board outside Pierre's without having to actually go there, which it does by putting a tab in the pause menu. However, for some reason it isn't working for me, as clicking the tab does nothing. Here is my game log:

it's probably not updated to deal with different ui and game zoom levels. you can test it by setting them both to 100% (or probably other values as well, as long as they are the same). if it works, then that's the issue

the way the zoom levels work were changed (the ui zoom option didn't exist before) and the mod just isn't updated to work with them. maybe ui info suite 2 (on github) has an option to show the billboard too?
I have a confusing one. I just finished installing mods and I'm getting this error but I never installed Custom Map Changer and cant find it anywhere in my Mods directory. It says it's installed and out of date:

You can redownload, find a file in it that seem unique, then look for that file in your mods folder

@ArcaneDescent @JessYoMama You can do it without a mod. Go to %appdata%/StardewValley and open the file called startup_preferences. ctrl + f for "playerLimit" and you'll find something like this: <playerLimit>-1</playerLimit>.
Change the -1 to any number you like...

Seems like IF2R was updated after I originally downloaded it, maybe that will include a fix for my issue

I've installed it and did the extra steps I needed to do but idk if there's a way to see if it's running or not

If they are client side mods e.g. recolours, portrait mods. Then they don't need them. If they are server side e.g. stardew valley expanded then everyone needs them
does it add content, change or add mechanics, or change maps? if yes, then all players need it unless it specifically says otherwise
so i.e mods that allow me to see my levels more detailed or ui changes work?

Does anyone know of a mod that will auto "hit" fish but isn't https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/5235 since that mod has a bug that endlessly plays the fishing sound if you get a treasure?
On my first day with all my mods, I walked into marnies and then the game froze
I don't want to automatically capture the fish, just remove the reflex minigame to "hit" the fish
There's a new feature in 1.5 that does that :))

I feel old and nostalgic now
it bugged out for me, probably because I use too many mods, but while it worked it was really nice
the only "lightning" mod i use is dynamic night time with a high latitude so its dark in the morning and highest darkness setting to set the mood during night time and encourage me to build lanterns on my farm :P
I might try that one out since Ambient Light failed me
can recomment, with latitude of atleast 50~
darkness times also change depending on the date
i'd also recomment setting the 30minute earlyer sunshine setting to false, so you can feel like a real farmer who gets up early before the sun comes out

That is correct. Its a weird bug, but I can confirm it is Sprite Master causing it. I don't understand how it could be causing the issue though, it doesn't make sense
so I'm having some issues. i am trying to get the log right now but its taking a while. so, I have a recipes thing with added seed and 2 seeds seem to be missing and i dont know how to figure out how to get those specific ones and 1 fish for mermaid island is missing. Also my game crashed but i dont have a smapi crash file so cant find out why.

ah, it seems that custom spouserooms doesn't work with tmxl spouserooms Custom NPCs must use the new SDV 1.5.5 system of adding custom spouse room templates via Content Patcher in order to be recognized with this mod.

one of the warnings is about that quest mod, so it's possible the French translation is causing the issue by missing a file
Can't load "More Quest > EditData Data/Quests" fields from file 'assets/fr/Hard-Hard.json': that file doesn't exist in the content pack.
I don't think Expanded or Ridgeside would cause that sort of crash*, though it's always possible
looking at the method itself it seems like there's at least one quest or special order that's null for some reason
I am very loathe to suggest save editing though, although that might be the only way
I updated the mods that I could and removed the Love of cooking part, and the quest no longer crashes the game !! 🙂

it should not affect any of that. you can try deleting it, start your save, and check how it looks. if nothing changed but you do have Kadija in the desert, you know it works 🙂

My guess is that it's using clamped wrapping mode when they wanted mirrored or something.

you need to install smapi and that link should get you started
in general, you put stuff in the Mods folder that smapi makes, but you may need prerequisite mods like content patcher to get them to run
that should go for mods that recolor (textures), but some will say to replace the Content files, and you definitely don't want to do that since it can break your game

My game crashes immediately after I complete my character creation and click okay. On top of that SMAPI takes longer than usual to load.

Uhm, what is the behavior you are expecting?
You can only change super moves if you already reset all 3 times, so if you see the super move option then it's natural you can't reset anymore. And to change prestige you must be level 15 or 20, so at level 10 it is also normal to not see that.
When I play multiplayer with PPJA crops and stuff, my friends will harvest onions or something else and it appears as onion soup or some artisan good, worth like 20x the crop. I always only see the crop tho... why is this happening? thanks:)

You have a domino of errors. You have to update PyTK from the unofficial update from the 2nd link in the error, as well as other mods you're missing (first 2 errors). Update PyTK and install the mods you're missing

Hello I'm having a weird bug where I get spammed notification when Pierre's shop opens. My game is heavily modded so I'm not really sure what may be causing this issue. (It's a fresh start)

@viscid epoch do you have any apps which allow finding for text in all files in a folder? for example, Sublime Text does it, VS Code probably too? you could just look for "is open now!" in your whole mod folder

Hm, I didn't have boots anywhere, had just started and I was trying not to cheat too much, but I did use FS to override boot color, would that have been involved?

we added boots with more armor cause i was getting one shot lol shall i remove these?
i don't think it will help, unless you haven't saved after adding the mod, but trying won't hurt. might also consider trying to roll back the save

Here it is. I don't know anything about the errors. I have challenging community center bundles mod and it received an update not to long ago. The problem is, one of the items are showing up as an error in the bag mod I have and the item doesn't show up in the community center itself. Just shows up as a blank space.

@dire fractal the log is pretty difficult to read because it's so big. could you remove visible fish temporarily and see how the log looks then?

it looks normal but that bed on the right, when you sleep on it, you actually wont...only if you go outside then the sleep cutscene will trigger

Is there a way to check why Gus isn't selling a recipe? 🤔 I need Chamomile Tea for a bundle, but he is not selling the recipe, even though he should. Nothing in the mod itself shows a restriction

The fish thing? Its not the issue I'm having though? My issue is with the community center bundles mod I have and it doesn't touch the more new fish mod. The bundle with the issue isn't even the fish bundles its a noticeboard bundle. I didn't have this issue before the community center bundle mod updated. And I did do what they said, still have the issue.
okay I still do not know why it doesn't work, but Gus' Recipe Book DOES let me buy it so I will just... get it from there
