I set mine to auto catch
I hate the fishing so much but dont want it completely cheaty
Auto catch just gets rid of the mini game
yeah, there's a bunch of mods that skip the fishing minigame. personally i love fishing and teh's fishing overhaul with new/more new fish is great since it makes perfect catches much better.
tho, there's also the option of making a giant crab pot farm with walk of life crab pot talents that give you a chance to catch regular fish with them

Hey is there anyone here who might be able to help me get SVE working? I'm having a really hard time getting things rolling
btw is anyone using the fresh meat mod? the one that adds meat crops to the game.
because i noticed that there seems to be an unintended recipe, the wheat flour(2) (from pierre) can be cooked into toast bread (5) which sells for more than then flour cost which is a bit unfortunate lol

Yeeeees, mostly—CF occasionally bugs out possibly for no reason
If anything bad happens with CF use CJB item spawner to spawn a new item and you should be good

@lament prairie If I may ask one more question... when I go to manual download the actual SVE mod it just opens the file tab on nexus with 8 files in it (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/3753?tab=files) and does not actually start a download. The instructions here (https://github.com/FlashShifter/StardewValleyExpanded/wiki/Install-guide#installing-sve) say to "open the downloaded folder before moving it to mods", but if I download each file there won't be a file folder. so does that mean that I need to download each of them that aren't optional and separately extract them into my mods file?
Most likely yeah, I'm not totally following everything you're saying. You need to pick the version of SVE that's correct for your setup

@lament prairie So when I go to this page (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/3753) and click "manual" for download in the upper righthand corner, all it does is switch the page to display the "FILES" tab below. I am pretty sure it's supposed to download all of those files, no?

No, it only downloads a file if there's a specific main file
When it directs you to files it means you need to pick

I'm not sure, but considering we typically recommend everyone have the same mods, it's best if everyone is using SMAPI and the same mods
But you can also optionally pick one (not both) of the farm mods

If you clicked the mod manager download, the file will only be downloaded at all if you have Vortex installed.
Can you screenshot the page you're trying to download it from, for someone who has images enabled to see what's wrong?

I am trying to use PyTK for some custom portraits I downloaded and saw that I needed to use the unofficial version. I downloaded that and it does not seem to work. Is it because of the version being 1.5.6? Or maybe I missed something? Here is the SMAPI log too

I changed a mod's file to make a recipe unlock on a specific skill level instead of it being default and lvl10 is read as lvl1 in the file
And it gave me the recipe at lvl 1
so I want to reload my recipes so It'll remove it until level 10
ok got rid of PlatoTK and my portraits work, but I can't use seed bag. I can live with this however, thanks for the help!

Hi all, I had this issue yesterday and haven't been able to find a solution. Every time I start a new save, mods that require a trigger (CJB Cheats, item spawner, and chests everywhere) work fine. But, when I go to load that save later, they don't work. I have deleted Vortex and cleared out my entire mod folder and started from scratch. I downloaded the new Smapi update as per the pinned messages (also tried downgrading to the older version), I downloaded the unofficial versions of PyTK and TMXLoader as per the pinned messages as well, and the mods still aren't working. They show up on the mod manager screen that you can access from the start screen but I cannot get them to trigger in-game when I load a save. I don't know what's up with your shortcuts not working, but I think you were trying to use an XNB mod because of the messages you have in your Skipped mods section (red text)

I'm going to make an entirely new save and then try to see if it works after I load that one after a day or so in game. I am worried that opening old saves that might have mods installed that I don't have now might be messing things up

I am having the same issue I think. I can start new games no problem but my game crashes when I load a save with an abort trap error message. I am fairly certain the issue is PYTK related since I can load saves once I remove it, but it's hard to isolate with so many mods dependent on pytk

yeah, i'm using the unoffical but still can't load saves. I'm using a mac so I'm not sure if maybe it's a mac specific issue
It's not a mac issue afaik, since I also use a mac, but it might be specific to some OS/hardware combinations

Yeah there are some general issues that crop up with every mod and, if the issue you're having is that, someone could probably help regardless if they actually use the mod.

It tries to open smapi regardless of the way I try to run it through steam directly or desktop
For windows, you can go into the game directory and launch vanilla sdv with the stardewvalley.dll (or whatever it's named) with the chicken icon

with how much complaints there are over how bad non-pig/ostrich animals are, you'd think there'd be more popular animal rebalance mods
my guess would be hardcoding strikes again

the balance in vanilla stardew is kinda weird
animals tend to have a "the less effort it takes, the less profit you get" except for ostriches and pigs
like chickens > ducks even tho ducks take more investment to get, cuz you only get a duck egg every other day
ostriches aren't really great though, in comparison to pigs
and pigs require outdoor space, which is something none of the other animals do
and can't be collected with an autocollector
pigs do require outdoor space but i don't think that's much of a downside unless you're trying to have as many pigs as possible
i remember reading a breakdown on how per tile, sheep/ostritches are more profitable but i don't think anyone really plays the game like that :p

Can you specify what you mean by that? Also, A&S has a ModAPI that can be interacted with! I'm not sure if anyone currently uses it, but I always make sure to include useful compatibility functions within it.

SDVE isnt currently working on the new update. The PYTK needs updated.
It means you're using vortex and it ate your manifest.json, that it's not really a mod but some images, or that it's an xnb mod or an empty folder.

tbh my computer is lenovo so it doesnt tell me what type of file it is, it just says file folder

where I looked last time for SMAPI? it told me to update and I clicked on it's link and it had mac n linux but not windows, tried downloading it either way but it didn't even work.

A couple comments within the Skull Cavern Elevator mod says that after floor 5 all floors are a treasure room... One comment says that their Luck Skill Mod is affected by the Skip Fishing Minigame (which I have) as that mod breaks the luck mod.

Hello. I have a problem with the stardew valley map whenever i take a look at my map one part is recolored and the other is not. That part which is colored puts all the new npcs etc into a corner of the map that I cannot reach thats just they're icon ing they're still there

I like Earthy Recolor, but Yri's Town Overhaul, the modular recolor aspect, is pretty neat too.

I'm just telling you the reason why you have that issue is because sve overwrites your recolor

Normally, Error Handler turns crashes into errors in the log
I don't think so, might have been an oversight for this on my part, as I just reinstalled it after a whole month of not having it after SMAPI stopped working for me and straight up crashed my stardew several times.

most of my old mods weren't usable in the first place, I had a singular mod and it never effected it cause the one I used it for is still running, the mods I have now are just what I've considered default.

So you need to update smapi and I would redownload Content Patcher. Something is wonky with it.

You appear to be looking in the instructions for mod authors ,which you dont need to be doing. Event repeater has no special instructions for players.
ok so you know how recolour mods have assets, those are spritesheets. you need to match the name of the spritesheet to the missing files

The path.xnb is under Content/Maps in the SV Content Folder. You just need to convert it to png

I reported it, what happens is that if you add in more AT stuff the wallpapers and flooring stops working. I'm not the only one that it happens to, someone else on Ceri's converted stuff has had the same issue
you select the wallpaper and flooring, it does the animation, but nothing changes.
It doesn't affect all of them - only some of them break
I suspect it might have something similar to do with what happens with json assets - id shuffles

Oh, that explains why my flooring didn't change when I tried to use the bucket. The wallpaper still worked fine
