so @gaunt gust when I try to download the file instead of downloading it in the downloads window in my browser it says "File 0Harmony.dll isn't downloaded often. Before opening make sure that you trust file 0Harmony.dll." and I don't really know how to like trust it? or something

My lovely datemate and I are preparing a multiplayer SVE game, and wondering about how SVE and Artisan Valley interact/whether the Artisan Valley new seeds and stuff unlock at a suitably gradual rate so as not to overwhelm Pierre's shop in Spring Year 1. I'm investigating but thought I would also ask š
all the artisan valley stuff unlocks straight away im pretty sure

Can you isolate.that mod and run with just that+error handler?

Yeah, it probably needs to be triggered with whatever the crafting recipe thing is.
It also is possible that the error is actually an incompatibility with another common mod

See if you can keep the log open behind your game just enough to see if thereās a error triggered and play a day while checking to see if the error happens?
Thatās what I do for debugging when Iām making a mod
We need the error to be reproducible in order to debug
Honestly, if it isn't critical to your game, I would toss it. If you really want to edit it to fix it though, you'll need to dive into the code and do some thorough testing to see what's causing the problem.
Okay, so itās on save load but seems to possibly be an issue with another mod? (Iām assuming you loaded back in with your full mod list)
Your options at that point are to try removing mods until the error stops, or to remove this mod. I suspect itās likely this mod is less important/central than whatever itās conflicting with, but itās up to you.
Generally we ask for logs instead of pasting errors here

Try removing prismatic tools maybe? It could be a conflict between that and better sprinklers?

Well, I think you can either leave Better Sprinklers in and see if it still works, or remove it. Probably Prismatic Tools is ok to leave because I see other people use it as well without issues, and it sounds like you care about Prismatic Tools more.
Better Sprinklers probably failed to edit the crafting recipe, but Iām not sure if it would have crashed bad enough to also fail to edit sprinkler range

Thereās probably something screwing up the warps
If you have other mods that edit the farm map they can sometimes override the warps

Finding a mod-provided API is essentially instant; all it does is call mod.GetApi(). This is a typical case where it's not what's being logged that's causing a delay, it's everything that happens between the logged events. In this case it's calling mod.Entry and mod.GetApi for every mod, so there might be dozens of mods silently initializing between those two log entries.
oh, okay, interesting. So at least one mod is just taking...this is an insane amount of time...in the Entry.

looks like its working to me, how long does it say unresponsive? SVE is a big mod so it might take a few minutes
it eventually loads but the map is glitched
most of the tiles are in the wrong place but you can still change locations

SMAPI automagically rewrites mods, if possible, for crossplatform compat. So most mods work on Windows/Linux/Mac.

I have downloaded SDVE and im up to date on all the new Content patchers etc. but when I load Gwens Mideval Craftables the vanilla images load over the modded images in game the machines work its just a image issue i already clicked allow alternate craftables for SDVE but it didnt change anything

You also may need to just wait a bit longer. 6 minutes is a bit oddly long but not outside of the question, except that you donāt really have any heavy duty mods.

This could be it... fwiw I had a prior issue where SDV would not launch in GOG at all, with the icon just bouncing forever -- this was fixed (via reddit post) by changing the "Beta Channels" configuration to "compatibility" rather than "disabled"...

yeah, you should reinstall. But the installer clears out previous verisons on its own, you proably don't have multiple copies

No but you wonāt be able to use modded saves most likely. Also the installer will uninstall for you which is better probably.

Not an M1 (mine is from 2016) -- also fwiw I updated to macOS 12.1 today to see if that would fix it but it did not!
@tired brook this user is persistently having this issue (also when launching via executable directly or terminal), despite the installer having completed successfully. Iām wondering if itās an issue specific to Mac/GOG, since most Mac users probably are on Steam. They use a 2016 Mac on MacOS 12.1, so the OS is compatible with .NET 5.0.
Can someone help me figure out why my partner wouldn't be able to connect to my MP game consistently? It'll timeout before hitting the screen to select her character and I'm not sure where to go with troubleshooting this.
Would it have something to do with me having my game paused when she's connecting?

im sorry if im disturbing anybody else getting help here, but I'm been having some issues with modded. Whenever I click the Load or Coop buttons, my game freezes, and tells me that it stopped responding. This crashes the game... What happens if when it stops responding, you let it think

finally got my game to work by removing everything immersive farm 2 related in my mods folder and re-installing it. The layout is a bit wonky, with my barns in the middle of the fences and everything in my shed (quite a bit of kegs
) gone. Thanks for the help, though!
You can install cheats mods to give yourself back what you lost, then uninstall the cheats mods
Also reset terrain features may be helpful
And Robin can move your barns

It's supposed to auto-detect an incompatible version, but that hasn't been tested on macOS. SMAPI definitely won't work with the compatibility branch though.
Yes! The game unfortunately won't even launch with compatibility set to "disabled" ("Play" button is pressed and then nothing happens, eventually "Play" un-selects itself)

That section explains how to rollback to Stardew Valley 1.5.4 to play with mods, or we could possibly help you get Stardew Valley 1.5.5 non-compatibility-branch working.

Nope, it shouldn't matter whether it's GOG or Steam, they're almost identical. If it still doesn't work on the non-compat branch, we can help further though.

This did it! Guess I had installed SMAPI while on compat so switching just GOG to non-compat didn't do it... uninstalled both SMAPI and SDV and looks to be working at first glance. Thanks both for the help!!

I'm not sure searching for the number of smapi files will help you much. You can revert to 1.5.4 (instructions here https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Player_Guide/Troubleshooting#SMAPI_doesn.27t_work_with_compatibility_branch)

Did you check the mod description and/or comments? That seems like intervention from the mod author would be needed. Someone in the comments may have explained how to fix it
Also does the mod description say if those portraits require Portraiture by any chance? If so, you need to install that
