It looks like because that mod won’t run, it causes other mods to not run also, because they depend on it.

yeah that log just shows "closed game" in the trace, no obvious crash
you need the unofficial versions of pytk and txml. See Uber's message just below yours

you have to follow the instructions on that mod carefully and place the files where the mod asks you to. Either that or go ask that mod to make itself a CP mod

So I needed the mod that gave me Prismatic tools but now my picaxe is still invisible, doesn't say it's iridium, but also works just like the Prismatic pickaxe and idk if I can fix this without restarting my game

@dire fractal OutOfMemoryException errors on Windows mean that your game ran out of memory. The game only has access to a small part of your computer's memory by default. err, the "small part of memory" is no longer true, but it's still possible to run out

most mods deal with the name, not the ID. (in part because the point of JA is to avoid IDs that would clobber each other)
if you really want the ID, the debug command debug lookup <itemname> probably will get it

You should use the JA ObjectID token for that

Did he accept the fish as a gift or did you get Mr Ginger is confused dialogue? If he accepted the fish as if it was a normal gift then it's not working. Also did you only try crimsonfish as it's possible I typoed the name when I added the tags.

If your computer is an older 32-bit system, you will need the 32-bit compatibility version of the game. Please be aware that SMAPI/game mods are not compatible with this version.
On Steam: In your library, right-click Stardew Valley and select Properties... > Betas > then "compatibility" under the dropdown.
On GOG: From the game's page, click the settings icon > Manage installation > Configure... > then "compatibility" under the Beta channels dropdown.

but you do need to uncover another major part of the story
Dating a cat would be a next level thing.
trying a reinstall and then going to reset my laptop to make sure everything's fresh
check the extra files on that mod for an example of how to blacklist your event from it
but I mostly recommend that people use 'N' to see what events you currently qualify for rather then what other ones exist for the character

(for SMAPI on Windows, you set the launch options to point at SMAPI, not the usual Stardew exe. So if you uninstall SMAPI and forget to reset the launch options, it looks like the game doesn't work).

I suggest not to use vortex. It may be working smoothly for other games, but for Stardew it could mess up a lot stuff or miss files when installing/ uninstalling
You should install mods manually, and it's very easy to do so ^^

I completely wiped all my mods a couple months ago and I'm starting fresh, but I'm having trouble finding a mod I used to use? It was a seasonal retexture of the bouquet and the mermaid pendant.
I remember one of the retextures for the mermaid pendant was like, a red ruby kind of necklace and another was a clock pendant
were those the only things they replaced?

Eh, my game froze. Didn't crash, (no crash log) had to close it. When I went to change a mod, the options at the bottom were buggy

so, issue with cfw. There's no updated version because sdv supports custom walls and floors now, but that means the 2 mods underneath are broken. I have East Scarp installed, but the map is a little confusing to me so I have not found the farm yet.
Its between the main map and the deep mountains. It doesnt exactly look like a farm but more like a forest.

Umm, you might need to download mods that change hairstyle and replace the hairstyles.png
fashion sense requires doing coding on your end because there are no hair packs for it yet, but the wiki PeacefulEnd made is very detailed. if you dont wanna learn how to do that, you can grab a CP hairstyle mod and replace the png in its assets folder

Apologies if this is the "once every 5 minutes" question here, anyone have an idea as to why SMAPI (the main console window itself) takes 30-60 seconds to load every so often?

If you're asking because you're making a pack for it, for Artisan Equipment for Sale, I summed the cost of the materials based on the vanilla sell values, to get the machine equipment, and then added or removed a little extra if I thought it was too low or too high. I guess in this case you could account for the lightning rod, since the battery back itself can't be crafted (unless you use another mod HUHU).
But if you're happy with 3000g that also works 😄

hostpolicy.dll is a vanilla file, SMAPI doesn't know about it or do anything with it. Not sure why so many players are missing it; do you know if affected players (a) were able to launch the game fine right before installing SMAPI, and (b) used something like ModDrop or Vortex instead of the SMAPI installer? - Pathos

Well, I don't know how that can be fixed, if uninstalling, deleting sdv folder then reinstalling doesn't fix it, I don't think how it can be fixed..

Re-installed the game

A&S doesn't care about which folder they're in, that's just for user readability
but the file name itself needs to be unique
The A&S mod description is pretty detailed in how to set up stuff as well
It can accept XNBs actually! But the naming convention for the files is key
so it'd be like cat_1.xnb, cat_2.png, etc.

The limit might just be absurdly high, I remember this that Pathos said about loading mod limits

@meager crypt It's missing from the installer folder (see the path in the error message), not the game folder. It's definitely included in the download, so an antivirus may have helpfully deleted it? You may need to temporarily disable your antivirus, then redownload a fresh copy of the installer.

I got a question about better junimos mod, it says the first one in the files are for 1.5, but then there is a better junimos 2.0.1 for beta for the new smapi and 1.5.5 but the decription says "Not This One. Don't Install This. Requires SMAPI 3.13 beta. Don't install this unless you're a modder doing compat testing. So is this not for the new smapi and i shouldn't use this for the new version? Or is this the version I should download now since 3.13 is out?

I'm having a Json error launching SMAPI through the XBox PC App. Any known fixes or workarounds? As far as I can tell the relevant files are updated; specifically, PyTK and TMXLoader.
That's a known bug, potentially
It was fixed on the other platforms but the game pass app is way slower at releasing updates

I was wondering whether or not having multiple mods trying to patch the same asset when patching a texture with content patcher extend the loading time when launching the game
I don't know how mods works at all, just wanted to know if using XNB files and/or disabling some assets patch through the config file of the mods that have this option would help, since I had an error (something like "content patcher requested cache invalidation for all assets matching a predicate") taking 3-4 mins when launching the game

I don't know about time, but if multiple mods are trying to Load the same asset, then SMAPI just uses the vanilla file. You have to have only 1 mod using Load on an asset. Multiple mods can Edit the same asset, but you may have compatibility issues.
Using XNB mods is never recommended because it can lead to other issues. You can share your log and people can try to help you troubleshoot

After downloading the newest version of SV, I cant launch my modded game anymore (im using only Stardew Valley Expanded mods) and if I try to launch through steam, my game just shuts off, any idea why?
What you described isn't an error, that's a Trace message. That's just CP doing its thing. You do have a sizeable amount of CP mods, including big ones (East Scarpe, SVE, big recolor mods), so I think it's normal that it takes a while to load. It's got a lot of assets to go through.

I think it's the recolor applying the map, but it shouldn't apply the map if you don't have SVE
although based on that file path, it doesn't look like you have a legit copy of the game either, so I can't help you
So you probably have a SVE specific map recolor mod

Hmm, it's applying the SVE version of the map for some reason
And I was reinstalling the game so I ended up downloading smapi again, as the game wasn't working well before
install the latest version here https://smapi.io/ and then just replace the old one with the new one (if you have trouble finding the folder dm or ping me)
When you installed SMAPI did it find the correct path right away, or did you need to tell it you have a custom folder path?

Nope I have not manually added a custom folder path since I'm not sure how I'm supposed to do that with the .bat file, every time I run it I get the location not specified error

When you run the installer the first question it asks now is about the game path, then the next one is install or uninstall. That's why I wasn't sure how far you got hehe

you can have different sets of mods for different playthroughs

it's fine, you don't need to update smapi
the long and short of it: SMAPI uses the NET 5.0 installation bundled with Stardew. The last Stardew update mildly changed that NET 5.0 installation. That's all that error message is about.

I think the Fruit Tree mod is trying to edit the trees too. You can try to give preference to Yri's mod one of two ways... Renaming the folder so it has a "z" at the front... Or, adding a false dependency in the manifest.json
Though I'm really not 100% sure that will fix it. It's worth a try though.
those aren't like trees trees though? I thought they would be either the outdoorsTilesheet or maybe town

So I have a problem with SMAPI. Every time I boot it up it just instantly crashes. I updated the mod since I last touched the game in march but that hasn't fixed the problem so I'm looking for options to fix it.
Just to confirm: you installed SMAPI 3.13.2 from smapi.io

try uninstalling/reinstalling the game? That's a game file that's missing/corrupted. Also, make sure you're not on the legacy branch

Okay it turns out Stardew Valley made a new folder on one of my other drives I have on my PC.
Someone knows if SVE's IF2R has a patch for Earthy Recolour? It looks kinda off
