A looping error is one that repeats over and over and over but doesn't change
Usually when logs are too big to go on the site, there is a looping error that's made the log incredibly long. And if you delete all but the first occurrence of it, it will fix the problem.
I think this issue might be the loved label mod where it couldn't load

If you have no ongoing games, not a bad idea if you have a lot you need to update or don't remember what anything does anymore.
You could also just move the current mods folder somwhere else
(I have a folder called "UnusedMods", for example, that I stick mods I'm considering in.)
(And if you've ever replaced XNB files in the game's Content folder, you can force Steam to redownload them https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Player_Guide/Troubleshooting#Reset_your_content_files and keep everything in Mods going forward so that you just have the one folder to manage 😄 )

Yeah I would definitely scorch the earth then so I could get caught up on all the changes. Might want to make a backup of the folder like atravita mentioned though.
I often hoard mods as they come out, but then start a brand new mod folder when for sure this time I will actually play :D (But then I don't want to forget something I was considering, so I start another mods folder and end up with several of them

What machines were you trying to use? There's quite a few that relate to the Artisan Valley mod, so its possible that it was having issues if you don't have that at well

I see two mods that edit portraits
one for Marlon, one for Soli
I have another mod installed that doesnt go in the mods folder and instead replaces the actual portrait assets for each character
which causes a problem because the marlon mod has image files for his portraits in its folder
you should be able to open the content.json and comment out the blocks that load his portrait if you don't want those

yo, ive been encountering several issues with running stardew valley expanded...
ive tried looking up some solutions, tried reloading my computer (and steam and stardew), and reinstalling stardew valley expanded and TMX Mod Loader but i still encounter this issue. this issue spams the terminal and crashes my computer;
SContentLoadException: Stardew Valley Expanded - PyTK loaded map 'assets/SpouseRooms/VictorsRoom.tmx' with invalid tilesheet path 'spring_z_extras.png'. The tilesheet couldn't be found relative to either map file or the game's content folder.

i like sve but a reoccurring trend imo is that the dialogue is more wordy than it needs to be. you can tell what dialogue is CA's and what isn't
You can edit the dialogue in the content.json if you want.
DCBurger's High Res Portrait Mod and Stardew Aquarium Code have errors, the latter being a null reference

the error you specifically mentioned i think has to do with the Friendship Without Talk mod
You might want to consider looking into Multiple Spouses. That mod has a lot of issues right now. Might be worth looking through the bug reports on it to see if anyone is having your specific error, and if not make a bug report.

The issues with SVE mostly has to do with compatibility.
But you do have a lot of mods and I have no idea how you keep straight what works with what x_x
I would venture to think that SVE is causing the length of a list of NPCs to be longer than what FWT is expecting, which is freaking out the game code it calls

SVE is messy programming-wise and it's best to only install mods that are explictly stated to work with it
(like, a $ with nothing behind it)
that's one of the errors, but not the main one
so when the game tries to get the character behind the $, it can't find it
I would try without SVE or without FWT to see if that fixes it. Try without one then without the other i suppose.

Unfortunately a lot of mods don't work with one another. Another option that you might consider is using mod groups so you can make sure different mods can work with one another. So you could have a group for SVE and have only mods that are compatible in that mod group. Then have another mod group for messing about with everything else on a different save file.

make sure everyone has the same versions of all mods
general rule of thumb for modding is one person gets that shit working and sends it to everyone so everyone is the same
its weird, ran it once and two players were out of sync, ran it again without changing anything and then only one player was out of sync
If yall have the same version, see if it works for you in single player and then send all the required files to your friends. Or everyone needs to check the versions of the dependency mods they installed.

East Scarp has a much smaller sandbox style farm if you feel like having a miniature Grampleton Fields

So, I was working on a mod for a few days in regards to a mod that allows for a more friendlier approach to those in the Ace community. Only to learn that it already exists.
It's a wonderful mod.
And just being able to essentially be platonic long into the relationship with only hints of romance is so relaxing and reassuring.

however, for some reason it adds golden chickens to the base 'pool' of chickens you can get from marnie, you dont have to unlock them first.
are there known problems with animals that produce custom objects? there was one person recently with that problem, but it might've been something specific to their setup

That explains a lot of the weird stuff people were saying! One other thing I've read, in that vein, is that golden eggs don't hatch golden chickens with BFAV? I could've sworn I just saw a mod that aimed to fix that (it's what prompted me to finally ask lol), but it seems to be gone now 
Also, I'm assuming the golden chickens thing can mostly just be avoided by looking at what it says on the screen when buying a chicken? (White Chicken, Brown Chicken, Blue Chicken... Gold Chicken?) But, does it just remove the lock altogether? Like, would golden eggs appear in some treasure chests from the beginning of the game with BFAV?

Issue is with the shed on the carpenter shop menu... the prson who directed me here said there is something that is trying to load a map file as the shed texture and then told me to come here
Well, it's letting you know you have two things you can update and I was always told to be updated first and then retried to see if the updating fixed things.

Keys in this case are the update keys that tell Smapi there is something to update. It's linked to nexusmods and when you update the nexusmods page with the new update, Smapi will then know this.
So maybe verifiying the files could fix it?

I kinda wish Nexus/Moddrop had a feature that would be like, "Hey the version number in your manifest is the same..." when creators go to update their mods.
I'm not sure which mod specifically you're referring to, but I think with modding it's all subjective and you have to make your own balance.
You might get a mod that makes something way more difficult, so then you get another mod to make another aspect easier, and hope it balances out lol
If you're in multiplayer and/or a competitive thing, it's worth talking about it with the other players. But if it's just a singleplayer for fun game, it's up to you if you want to use it

I don't the beta is working right. I've finally optimized my computer to the point where the os takes up 2GB if ram instead of 4GB that leaves 6gbs for the game to use and it still lags. I really don't want to have to reinstall stardew valley every day for the sake of fixing lag because that's the only fix i have for those dumb lag spikes.
Mind you i made a brand new save yesterday and it didn't lag at all.
SVE: Marnie gave my cheese a buff....after I sold my aged goat cheese :C
I know beta is called beta for a reason. I'm just pointing out that i don't think it's working right. Memory is at 60% (i have 8gbs ram) and it lags left right and center. And my save wasn't lagging when i made it yesterday. Normally when that happens people tell me my save is corrupted and to get rid of it. Made a test save. Just as laggy. And all the optimisations and changes i've made. Whilst showing results in other games and in the task manager. Goes 9ut the window on stardew. So u'm just going to assume that either the beta us not coded properly and not utilising all available ram. Or this has something to do with the no fps cap error i get every time i load up smapi.
So while i wait for a solution i'll drive myself mad with the process of completing reinstalling the enture gane every day.
Iirc, the game also only uses one thread (CPU) so it can only do so much. I have 16GB RAM in my PC and I still lag sometimes with both the beta and the normal version.
(Getting rid of my 15million animation and PPJA mods eliminated most of my lag.)

generally speaking if you search the folder for an NPC's name (Alissa for example) the search results will include a portrait, open file location of that portrait and you will find the folder you need to overwrite

For Multiple Spouses, someone else reported the same error and the creator just said they were using the wrong version.. However, I don't think that's the case for you? If you decide to switch to the beta for SDV though, use Free Love instead since aedenthorn is retiring Multiple Spouses in 1.5.5.

two copies of custom npc fixes seems to be the worst problem To fix this, delete these folders and reinstall the mod: Mods\Custom NPC Fixes 1.2.3-3849-1-2-3-1624137347\CustomNPCFixes, Mods\-Stardew Valley Expanded--3753-1-13-11-1629243294\CustomNPCFixes.
just deleting one them should fix most of the problems
then there are few mods that are meant for the beta version of the game, downgrading them to the non-beta versions might fix them
and something seems to be broken with the ui info suite installation UI Info Suite 2 2.1.7 because its DLL 'UIInfoSuite2.dll' doesn't exist
all of the files have another file in them, should i be taking them out and placing them with the folder that has all the mod content ?

Those long file names with the version numbers and stuff can cause errors with path length.
(Not all mods will extract that way though so be careful)

Hey folks, I'm having some problems with my mod setup, and the logs point to Content Patcher not being able to parse .png files due to an exception in the libgdiplus.so library. I've recently had to reinstall my PC, but I do know for a fact that my system packages that library by default.

I've had to shorten the log, since it quickly grew to 10GB by repeating the same set of errors and stacktraces. I believe that the TMXL errors are just dependencies of the previous Content Patcher error.
A few things that may be important:
- The system is immutable, except for
/var, so to remedy that,/homehas been moved to/var/home(leaving a symlink behind), and normal Steam has been replaced by the flatpak version, which runs inside a bubblewrap sandbox, under~/.var/app/com.valvesoftware.Steam. - I first thought that the Steam runtime didn't contain that library, but after running Stardew inside a toolbox container with all the required libraries, the same error popped up.
- Then, I thought there was something wrong with Mono, but after reinstalling it and testing again, nothing changed.
- If nothing works, I can reinstall SMAPI for Windows, and run the game through Proton. I'd use that as a last resort though.
- All mods were installed manually, since no mod managers support Linux.
i don't think it would help really, but have you tried symlinking or copying the libgdiplus.so file to the game folder? some library problems have been solved on the mac version with that method previously

It seems that the library is built-in on mono, I'm trying to compile it separately.

Fedora reserved the libgdl package to GNOME's Docking Library, and searching the mono packages hasn't been helpful either.

switching between native and proton versions of games on steam can be a bit problematic though in my experience, personally i would clear the native installation before attempting to use proton

are you sure you replaced the Multiple Spouses with a fresh nexus version? it seems to have version number 3.2.1 in its manifest
I would delete that mod and reinstall it fresh. If it keeps throwing errors, maybe don't use it till 1.5.5 comes out and you can switch to Free Love.
Or whenever you are ready toswitch to 1.5.5 I should say

I was hoping to find something Loading the cursors file, but didn't. I would take care of those two errors at the top though. I don't know if having SMAPI in your Mods folder will break anything, but it seems like a bad idea.

There are a bunch of mods there that do edit cursors: Earthy Recolor, Seasonal Cute Characters, Seasonal Cute Characters SVE, and SVE itself I think
