I'm trying out Fishing Trawler and I'm terrible at it lol
I understand the net fixing and the engine fixing. The water bucket thing also. But how do you patch the holes where the water is coming from? I thought the guy said you could patch those, but right clicking didn't seem to help

You can reduce the frequency of the events via the config as well, if there are too many happening at once.

Hey! I’m wondering if anyone has experience recently with stardew valley expanded and multiplayer. I see things from like a yearish ago saying if a farmhand tried to marry a npc from sdve it wrecks the game. Does anyone here know if that has been fixed?

There are also naver mods. A lot of those are soft, but it can be hard to get into if you can't speak Korean, can't make a Naver account, and/or don't know how to convert xnb mods into Content Patcher mods.

yeah, naver mods are what make me confused. same goes for SDVE.
Nearly every Naver mod I've been interested in has turned out to be either locked behind the site or an xnb mod and I just can't be bothered to convert them.

argh. Those errors are always the worst to debug
The Producer Framework Mod (PFM) warnings, not errors, are because there are optional mods that you don't have installed, so it's not using those rules. Again these are optional mods, so you can safely ignore these warnings. Same with the Json Assets (JA) warning about lavender. You don't have an optional pack that adds lavender.
I don't know about the Content Patcher (CP) warnings about Stardew Valley Expanded (SVE) though, but you could try reinstalling SVE and see if that helps.
Hard to tell, really.
Best way to find it is to remove mods and slowly add them back

You can add mods to an existing save! Some may have special instructions to make sure you don't have visual glitches, like custom farm maps, but even those can be installed on an existing save

The ones that are .dlls you can decompile to see what they do
Expansion mods like Ridgeside Village. I also like stuff like Better Balance and Challenging Community Center Bundles. Visually, any natural or cottage-like mod is a go for me.

Mods are in the Mods folder, yes I am using Steam, and the SMAPI log says there's no trouble with it

Just a quick update from how everything went yesterday; all seems to have been working fine, there was a brief moment of panic when it couldn't find the game again after I got up today, but it seems to work fine so long as I launch it directly from SMAPI in my stardew folder rather than my desktop shortcut (no idea why that would be, not knowledgeable enough to figure it out, if it works it works)
really stupid but someone got like a folder for all the mods needed + ridgeside mods for it to work? tried twice and i think i keep missing shit it needs

Sometimes the folder names change
even if the folder nme changed, the mod name would be the same
Also - Ape: next time, if your log is too big, an easy way to deal is to just restart the game, which clears the log, and see if you can quickly reproduce the error

5-10 sec gaps for lag spikes in normal areas but it got to the point of freezing by water
Can you grab a log that has lag in it?
(a log of when you've encountered lag)
but honestly a lot of it is just that you have a bunch of big expansion mods and they can be taxing

I find that custom companions can cause a bit of lag if there's a number of them,
but, otherwise, there's just a lot of NPCs for the game to keep track of
a lot of areas for the game to deal with

yea it's a little annoying that people never read the mod pages. Even when i was making mods for Risk of Rain 2, I had someone ping me in that modding server to tell me my mod didn't work and needed to be fixed, but they never set it up like the mod page says to for it to work

most of those ridgeside requirements are really common requirements needed by a very large number of mods

is there a way to get deleted .xnb files back without reinstalling? i can't do steam repair because i'm using gog, and the body retexture mod i got does not look good

which will cause a console window to pop up alongside the game
iirc, SMAPI will search through any directory there, so as long as your extracted mod folder goes into the Mods folder somehow, it should work
(launch stardewmoddingapi.exe directly, or set your launch options in Steam; the smapi installer gives you launch options at the end of the process and can safely be run with SMAPI already installed)
also, TMXLoader is a framework mod.

it doesnt do anything player-facing on its own, it just adds some code that other mods can use.

make sure to read mod pages, they will usually contain special install instructions and will list dependencies

most mods dont have special install instructions but if they do, they'll be on the mod's page

i found a mod that would work for what i want for the caks
it isn't amazingly broken, but it adds 2 new types of casks that take half and a quarter the vanilla time respectively, but are quite expensive to get to that point

I got my first industrialization machine last night, finally made it past spring
always end up restarting or getting bogged on in issues with memory/etc
actually was able to do 10 days in a sitting before being concerned with memory, was rather refreshing.
damn i usually play for like a season at a time, but i also only have around 110 mods
and no big expansion mods
my only "expansion" would be my farm map, EverFarm
i just finished upgrading my wine production shed into the industrial version. 203 Industrial Distillers in there.
the industrial kegs are about 10x as fast as the vanilla ones, since they take half the time but do 5 products at once, and they retain quality so you can skip a lot of processing for wine
I have just about all of the big expansions, and raffadax.. and I also 10% profit margin..so, yeah, Summer 16 and I just got the 5000 coins to update my first tool from copper->steel, just broke 15k gross earnings. Its always..weird seeing videos of people play with regular settings.
im also working on trying to improve friendship with everyone to get all the recipes for true perfection
i should do a challenge at some point of a low profit margin... is there a mod that lets you make your profit margin anything? It would be harsh doing one at like 1% margin
not sure if it likes less than whole percentages, but that's a vanilla setting you can change in your save file, also a mod that basically does/forces that
you can put a custom profit margin by editing your save file
could be like .10 or 1.10
well ive never tried editing a save file, didn't know how hard it would be
doing that does make you care a whole lot more about your energy economy than anything else.
its like the 10th <> in the save file, you could also just add profitmargins the mod, which basically just sets it at runtime for you via a config setting
it really depends on what you're gonna edit, for profit margins its easy as changing a value
you can still just use the find command so you wont get confused

people keep saying this, i must be a very rare case. I have never had an issue using vortex with stardew.

Yep, that's a known issue: https://github.com/Nexus-Mods/Vortex/issues/10316. You'll need to run the installer manually until Vortex is updated for Stardew Valley 1.5.5.

I did? I said rather pointedly that installing smapi itself thru vortex was a bad idea. Which, because it's not a mod requires special handling and can break in unexpected ways.

i have found an odd combination that will basically farm friendship points with anyone in your house
from my understanding, you can still delete mods and mod versions from the website, but they'll still be downloadable for collections.

the Part of the Community mod and some mod that basically sets everyone as talked to to not lose friendship makes it so when you go to sleep, your family all see you talking to people, raising friendship with them a slight bit
which is the problem, mod author deletes x version because its broken, but 'creator Y makes mod pack with broken version modpack' mod author gets 8743587 bug posts forever

the way we handled it with Thunderstore was file uploads required a manifest that listed all dependencies and the version of that dependency used. So if you made the collection with mods A,B,C with versions 1,1,2 then that was the versions that would be downloaded for the collection, no matter what the latest or default version of A,B,C are

Hi. I'm interested in playing with East Scarp mod. I need someone to criticise it so that I know shortcoming it has, if there's any. I don't want to go far in play-through before finding out it's unpolished (if it's unpolished). Unfair criticism is fine, but not too much.
It's a great mod tho, there are additional NPC mods for it (Like Always Raining in the Valley, etc). It's not as heavy as RSV or SVE so you shouldn't expect a lot of features yet.
Does skill perstige work with magic mod?

Yeah, I'm spoiled with SVE due playing it while after it's already quite developed. And slightly disappointed in RSV since it's rather new and not quite there yet.

I finally opened its wiki today and find out about NPC Undreya, seeing how narrow the window to first meet her, I don't think I can ever play blind. That takes some fin out. Also some bug in item acquisitions. Lastly, I'm worried that many JA items will delay 100% perfection quite a bit.

I have a 64 bits computer , but SMAPI says my desktop is not 64 and just closes once i try to install... I'm sure it's 64 and double checked.

Okay, SO: i finally upgraded from android to pc for SDV. I want to add as many expanded world mods as possible. I have SVE and will add ridgeside today. What else is worthwhile and compatible? not aesthetic mods (i'll look into those some other time), but more storyline/areas/npcs/quests/etc
i recommend checking out ES (East scarpe), Downtown ZuZu and Garden Village up to you if u wish to explore them
If you enjoy Ridgeside you could also think about getting Lunna Astray. As for ES I'd recommend getting Always Raining in the Valley with it. Just makes the town a bit more lively with 3 additional NPCs (though 2 are antisocial right now).
What's SVE?
If you're more into fantasy like characters and settings I'd also recommend getting Lucikiel and Lavril and if you enjoy how the characters of East Scarp are written, you could check out Lemurkats other NPCs (who have immersive dialogue regarding the other ES NPCs)

the first one is the expantion , the second and third are farm layouts. If you want to play by yourself and get some small cute farm, grandpa's farm is for u, the immersive is my favourite, but is pretty huge
you can also ignore and play the normal farm layout if you wish

I admittedly haven't played any expansions in a while because of the modder's curse (being too busy creating mods to actually play) 😅 But I'd probably say Ridgeside for the quality and quantity of its content, especially now that it's got its 2.0 update. East Scarp along with all its character add-ons is a very strong second though!
I dislike SVE for a number of reasons:
- From an artistic perspective, I think the writing is average at best, unsubtle and cringeworthy at worst. Many of the characters I find to be very bland.
- It edits a lot of things (many of which it doesn't really need to) in order to be an "all-in-one" mod, which makes it a pain in the ass for other modders to maintain compatibility. A lot of SVE fans also end up harassing other mod authors to make sure their work is compatible with SVE or tell them that their work isn't worth using if it's not compatible, which is not on SVE's author but it's very frustrating
- The mod's author has done a lot of very dubious and distasteful things over the years, including taking assets and ideas from other mods. He made a not-quite apology for some of it the first time it happened, but not for others that happened later, and he likes to rules-lawyer when called out for this rather than admit wrongdoings. i think i understand, well for my opinion, the mod is good, i think i like the "all in one" mod (note, the person who is writing this use about 90 mods, sooo, the more the best), but i didn't know the creator was... like that. Too bad , if people knew it prob it would lose a lot of popularity

This list isn't intended to be an "install all of these" list! It's a collection of mods that have similar effects to some of SVE's features so...
I think everyone should at least try SVE out for a couple months and decide based on that if they want to continue using it (and accept that not every mod should and will work with it) or to abandon it and try to create their own modded experience.
Just don't use SVE if it's your first time using mods. 
Yeah. But it takes a while to unlock the other town - so it's not as overwhelming if you wanna take your time.

Keep in mind too that SMAPI artificially increases the mod count because bigger mods with multiple parts (for example, a crop mod that also has new machines) will count as multiple mods. Ridgeside counts as about ten mods by itself or something
ah also , do you know any mod that improves wine farms?
So in reality, the number of mods in your Mods folder will be much smaller than the number SMAPI reports
Does East Scarp have any issues if you add it to an existing game like RSV does?
Grapes of Ferngill adds new grape varieties and I believe new wines as well, Fallen London Mushroom Wines adds new mushroom-based wines from the Fallen London/Sunless Seas games, Raffadax Teas & Trees adds divine wines along with many different types of port, sherry, brandy, etc, and Champagne Wishes adds new varieties of champagne grapes
(I mostly want to avoid having 500 people to visit for that first quest... RSV lets you turn it off.. I suppose I could bypass it with CJB Cheats.)

I don't think it does, although RSV's installed-mid-game issues are pretty minor (mostly just additional trees that need to be cleared with Reset Terrain and getting a lot of events at once)

Everytime I try copying the text into the copy part the website crashes
Just drag the file over?
You might have a looping error.
Open your log in a simple text editor like Notepad
Then scroll down to see if you can find an error that starts repeating itself.
You can delete everything after the first occurence, save the log, and it should work when you put it on the website.
