also, at least some of your mods are loading, and if you're expecting a new farm map from SVE do note that you have to install it separately - yep, that one
you didnt install all of SVE's dependencies - it needs pyTK, TMXL, and JsonAssets installed to load
all your other mods are loading, including a few of SVE's parts, but most of SVE's parts need at least one of PyTK, TMXL, or JsonAssets

SVE uses a lot of frameworks because it's so huge
once you've installed SVE + all its dependencies you can install the majority of other mods without needing new dependencies
so basically, when i try to add the mods to the mod folder, the other mod zips install them into its own zip, like i cant put it in the mods folder separately

sometimes people come in here like "my mods didn't load :(" and they have SVE installed, no other content mods, and expected a farm map change because SVE has optional downloads for maps that replace the Standard farm
and they didnt install the optional replacers and their mods loaded perfectly but they didnt realize the farm map shown in some SVE screenshots isnt part of the main SVE download
so i guess it didnt work again.

Addy, if you're having this much trouble installing SVE, I'd suggest starting with something smaller and easier to install
(you picked a relatively hard mod to install for your first one!)
Come back & try SVE later once you're more familiar with modding
(Nevermind that SVE makes itself needlessly confusing by including general prerequisite mods in the zip file. -_-)

SVE was kind of a pain to get right. Ridgeside is significantly easier.
pretty much all the mods you have right now are framework mods, which make it much easier for other mods to do things

yeah sometimes they dont say anything they just grab a completely random innocent file and put it in the quarantine zone
but yeah, we really need your friend's log, and for you to download a fresh install of SVE and install that
theres no evidence the code parts of SVE are existing on your machine at all
and SVE will not work properly without that code, and if your friend has a complete SVE install and you don't you will get problems.

Yeah, you can leave them there
pretty sure you just stick the zip in the mod folder and say "extract here", then move the zip away if you want to keep clutter down. that's what i do.

Without knowing anything whatsoever about the mod you're using probably you just remove from the folder, but I really can't say for sure, and you probably shouldn't listen to my random guesses

You can just go to the files tab, scroll to the one you want, and hit the download button there. You'll want manual download, then slow download (most likely).

You shouldn't use Nexus's mod manager for Stardew mods anyway, it's known to be buggy and it deletes parts of files occasionally

i'm using vortex.
It might work okay if you intend to use the exact same mod list for the entirety of your save, but if you want to be able to add or remove mods later on, you'll be saving yourself a lot of time & stress by reinstalling them manually

Mate, please don't. Vortex being buggy with Stardew mods is a known and documented problem that has been reported to Nexus. Telling people "but it works for me!" isn't really helpful and it's just going to cause issues further down the line
i'm not recommending it at all tho.
i think that 50% of the mods i have dont even work with vortex, but i just keep using it since i prefer keeping my mods in a single place that lets me toggle them on/off.

You can do that with a manual installation though. Just rename the mod folder to have a . in the front (eg. .NPC Map Locations) and it'll stop SMAPI from loading it

Hate to break it to you, but it's really really not the most well-known 😅 Nexus almost has a monopoly on mod hosting nowadays. ModDB used to be bigger and ModDrop's trying to get there, but there isn't enough competition to really break Nexus
couple of other reasons:
moddrop is better to its creators
- Nexus has most other Stardew Mods, making it easier to link to requirements, etc
but nexus is still the place to go
- If you want to do anything involving...uh, anything that has numeric IDs, you're probably going to at least register on Nexus to hold that space
(Because it's customary to use the Nexus mod ID to prepend your event IDs, quest IDs, etc.)

I've not really been keen on uploading the mod I'm working on to either Nexus or Moddrop to be honest since neither lets you have full control over your mod anymore due to this mod pack nonsense.
There's a bunch of mods on Naver, but most people can't use them
I don't know if either lets you opt out and both have clauses in their ToS to restrict deletion.

ModDrop does let you opt out, I'm pretty sure! The lead dev mentioned it when they put out an official ModDrop response to the Nexus announcement earlier in the year

A number of them, sadly. Mostly involving making Demetrius white, but there's been a few involving Maru too. One that ripped off DSV and white-washed both of them, though thankfully we were able to get that one taken down because of the art theft

Nexus has stated that whitewashing mods are not against their ToS as long as the author is not using overtly racist language in the mod description 🙄
Ahhh. Thankfully I don't believe I've ever stumbled across them. Only portrait mods I've ever used has been DC Burger's and the DC Burger styled ones
Up until October last year, they had the same outfits, but after DSV decided to stop working with SVO, some of the outfits have changed

Diverse is laggier bit better imo and worth the little lag. There is also a lite version.
I also like the consistency in art style.
So I don't internally scream everytime I want to try out a new NPC that doesn't have a matching portrait.
Right now I'm using all of the DC Burger styled portraits, and slowly but surely, Lunakatt and OrangePie are doing the style for every custom NPC that's cropping up
all of my portraits are so mismatched
Buut.. Lyell's new portraits aren't going to look the same with the DC Burger style, so I might switch to DSV, try it out and see if PyTK pitches a tantrum over it as well
DSV doesn't need PyTK, so it shouldn't do 😄

And the game lag is really just that it takes slightly longer to go in & out of buildings, the game itself doesn't run slower
I feel like DSV matches better with desaturated and "pretty" mods too.
It also supports platonic relationships.
I'm working on overhauling the code so that the full, lightweight & ultralightweight versions will be options in the one mod and selectable per character 😄 That way people will be able to select the full version just for their spouse but the light version for everyone else, or the full version just for the bachelorettes, or whichever combination they'd like
So hopefully that'll also help with balancing things
I make my farmer pretty much marry the entire town, and all the expansions.. It's quite fun

Ridgeside, East Scarp, SVE ( I personally don't support it, but hey, I know people like it )
Downtown Zuzu, Always Raining in the Valley..
SVE is the only one that changes the actual vanilla map, the others are just connected to it, but all try to match vanilla style
SVE being Stardew Valley Expanded, and Ridgeside is Ridgeside Village
If you just want more of a challenge, there's stuff like Challenging Community Center Bundles and Hardew Valley too.
There's a lot of mods like that. And skill overhauls as well.
Walk of Life is one of my favorites.
There's.. a ton of mods that improve vanilla but still retain a vanilla feel, so kinda hard to pin down what exactly you're looking for
I'd really recommend not getting SVE if you don't want the game to look "too modded", since it affects a lot of things
Highly recommend Greenhouse Construction for all your indoor plant growing needs.
(It do be a little obviously modded)
Same for just about any expansion mod, really, all of them are going to make the game look modded. Stick to smaller mods for that

I like the mods that add more things to do. I'm not really a social person, in game or out, so I prefer to make things like sheds dedicated to processing various machines
Speaking of... I probably need to download a mod to put casks anywhere and make a couple sheds dedicated to that... They just take way too long

I don't think I've ever had a problem with vortex that wasn't an easy fix. For stardew at least, skyrim was a different story

Aha, it's PPJA Fresh Meat. You stick animal products in a machine, it produces DNA, then you stick the DNA into another machine to turn it into meat

if it's an xnb file it needs to go into the game's Content folder, to the Maps folder in all likelihood to replace a native farm file. it's not really adviced to replace game files but in this case it's probably what needs to be done

there's just some spots where modded takes exponentially longer to load
I run a relatively similar setup, if I add Zuzu to it, it takes me over an hour for it to load, its comical :p
number doesnt matter 'that' much, its specifically the bigger mods
you can inflate that number fast playing with tiny add 1-3 things sort of mods

I actually trimmed back my crops/items/ppja stuff this last run, cut my total items from almost 6000 to barely 2500. Helped a bit.

i'm not sure about that, i just tested with ES, RSV, SVE, and Lunna and the game loaded in less than a minute. i think it's more when you add other mods on top of them. it seems to be a bit unpredictable too, like small map patches sometimes seem to add a lot of loading time https://smapi.io/log/462b42be47914695b5afe0b85a023593
oh and my computer is barely mid tier, core i5-9400f processor
these are outdated versions of those mods though too, so it might not be the same currently
yeah, with literally only those it likely loads well, but.. noone ever uses just those, hehe, its definately an exponential growth problem, every item/object you add makes every process take slightly longer and you hit weird breakpoints where it just tanks

Oh yeah, my mod doesn't try to replace Chests Anywhere since that one is very well supported. I started adding Convenient Chests features after it became apparent that the original author didn't intend to support it anymore.
Although, as far as putting things away to all your chests. That is a feature of my mod. You can categorize all of your placed chests, and then hit a hotkey to stash your items into them from anywhere.

In addition to all of the issues that have already been mentioned, SVE also has very poor writing and all but one or two of the characters are incredibly bland. So it's not even good from an artistic perspective

for a lot of people, it depends on how many mods you have installed, as well. SVE is a very large mod. So if you have that plus want to have others, it starts to slow down your load times

honestly.. my advice? read the description of SVE.. see if it sounds interesting. if it does, try it. You can always yeet it if you dont like it. If you don't think it sounds good and dont want to deal with the trouble it can cause, understood, you don't have to ❤️

I don't think people pay for early access; they pay because they enjoy the mod and want to support its continued development, and getting early access is just one of the nice bonuses they get out of it.

if you have jason (derulo) assets, that might be holding you up
i have json on it but that usually doesnt make it freeze

also if you load your game, don't click around and don't select anything in the smapi window
if you want your game to load up faster, remove sve
