Can someone help me? I downloaded SMAPI and put it under Stardew Valley > Mods but the game only launches when I pull SMAPI back out so I can't play with mods.
did you run the installer?
smapi needs to go where the game is installed, not mods
The installer puts the files in the right place, and since I see you use Steam, you also need to set Steam launch options as the installer tells you to, in order to launch from Steam
I couldn't figure out how to do that, putting it in Steam, if you're launching the game from an application that was bought on steam but is just running on an app on the computer?

If you re-run the SMAPI installer, it will show you the launch options after installation is finished.

Maybe also it would help if you elaborate a little more on what more grass "not working" entails
Isn't More Grass a framework mod? So you'd need to also get a pack for it, like Eemie's wildflowers or whatever
I don't believe it really does anything by itself
Go onto Nexus and type in "grass" in the searchbar, and you'll get quite a few hits for recolors for More Grass to use

I think I've gotten to the point where I have so many mods that they're causing problems for each other.
Short list: I've got SVE but Gunther is constantly stuck behind the museum desk because there's a globe on the right side of the counter, so I can't interact with him; when I try one of the "Gunther NPC" mods, I get a conflicting mod message in SMAPI.
In the "Walk to the Desert" mod, the horse path is blocked by a bunch of bushes.
And I've got a mod called "Tea Time" that added a bunch of tea recipes but I think has somehow broken getting to get the tea bush after viewing ||Caroline's|| event.
Does anyone have time to go through my SMAPI log and see if they can make sense of these?

@merry plank Gunther isnt interractable until you complete the museum with SVE. And you've got an out of memory error.
You need to do a terrain reset to clear the bushes.
three possible fixes: loading it via Rosetta, switching to 3.12.5 SMAPI, or switching to the beta branch of Stardew Valley and the associated beta branch of SMAPI

also, that console snippet you posted isnt anything to worry about
but the app isnt opening
you have Paranoid Warnings turned on, which means SMAPI will warn you when a mod is capable of doing anything even slightly suspicious
it get's stuck there
rosettta doesn't work for everyone, but if you have text actively highlighted in the SMAPI console it goes into Select Mode and stops loading
so if you're in Select Mode, it's probably that, and if you're not, it's a good idea to try the other versions

be better off getting something that makes greenhouse bigger probably, changing farm maps mid game while possible is generally very messy
otherwise you can switch to another map like at the end of a season or while you otherwise have no crops in the ground
you can generally move buildings to valid places, but crops usually means noclip to clear them if they're out of bounds

I found the solution
If anyone encounters the same problem of smapi 1.13 not detecting .net, Im copying and pasting the solution here:
The first step is to remove all your dot net stuff completely. Start by going to the "Uninstall a program" default app by searching "uninstall" in your pc's search bar. Once there search for "net" and uninstall all programs that say dot net. This will get rid of most of it but we have one more step to make sure. Go to your MY PC and select C: drive. Inside you will find a bunch of files but we want both "Program Files" and "Program Files (86x)". Entering both of these we are looking for a file called "dotnet": if you find it delete it outright.
The next step is PC cleanup. In your searchbar search for "cmd" and opening it should be a small black box window. Inside that type "cleanmgr" and a smaller window should appear asking you to select a drive. Select C: then leave all the options default and hit the run button. If it restarts back to the select options instead of running across down and untick "cache" and try again. When it's running it will have a progress bar, just wait for that to do its thing.
When the progress bar is done restart your PC. When you reboot run the "dotnet windows desktop runtime 64x" installer you downloaded again.
This should allow your SMAPI installer to work properly assuming you did the steps correctly.

Reset terrain features is a mod. Very useful!
Is there a mod somewhere which helps me to see if crops (especially on a trellis) are watered? When I have trellis crops set up behind of each other on the map. It is really hard to see if I already watered them or not. Especially in early game when I don't have (many) sprinklers.
I once had the To Do list mod which used labels to show if a crop needed watering. But that is not up to date.

spacecore seems to be the reason my saves wont load
i removed my mods and slowly added them back and spacecore is currently the reason

hey! I have a problem with my game. One of my playthroughs (the one i have played most recently) crashes whenever I start it (both on smapi and vanilla) . All the other playthroughs work just fine (both on smapi and vanilla) so I am unsure about what happened to it. All of my mods have been updated a week ago. Any advice?

I know this is going to cause quite a bit of mods to not load, which means it will naturally have less to load in the first place, but I'm removing PyTk from my 400 modlist, to see if it's still an hour load time
i'm not having crashes or anything with 1.5.5, but i am having a lot of lag i did not have with the unofficial 64 bit
i did some testing yesterday after i saw a couple threads on reddit that thought it was the controllers, but i didnt find the controller to make a difference
Testing will need to be redone at a later time when browser is not open, but for now, am testing it with browser open. Only a small portion of mods broke due to PyTK being removed. Let the games begin

No idea, but it's the exact same loading time when I only had 200 mods as well, it's been an ongoing issue since updating to the beta. I've done some minor testing involving only 20 and 21 mods, the one mod difference being PyTK, and even with that puny number, with PyTK it takes multiple minutes to launch and load into a save. Without it, less than a minute

So I'm going to be doing some bigger testing today, with my same modlist minus PyTK ( With only some mods being broken from not having it ) , and then later my modlist sliced in half, both with my original 200, and then the new 200, by themselves

And this is with my browser being open. Chrome is a memory hog, and it's taking less than half the usual time to start launching
@upper ember when it finally loads, are you noticing frame jutter and lag on tool use, espcially fishing and/or combat?
Normally it takes about 20-30 minutes for Smapi to launch the game, it's taken like.. 10 so far. Not fully done launching yet, but it's close
I don't think this has anything to do with your loading time problem haha, but multiple people have been having problems with Mobile Phone crashing/not working on the beta. So you could take that out for now.
Other than that, what kind of GPU do you have?
Either be in full screen mode or a smaller screened window. Windowed full screen causes weird frame jutters
Already ruled out my device, plus I was playing with close to 500 mods before the beta version and was perfectly fine

yeah for some reason they can just change into Weeds without weeds even touching them if you don't have a fence around them :(( Like half of my crops turned into weeds haha. It's a vanilla feature apparently

hey! I have a problem with my game. One of my playthroughs (the one i have played most recently) crashes whenever I start it (both on smapi and vanilla) . All the other playthroughs work just fine (both on smapi and vanilla) so I am unsure about what happened to it. All of my mods have been updated a week ago. Any advice?

Ok, so I don't have a backup, the only thing that is broken is that when I try to move certain beds (my double bed and one of the children's beds), they stick and one enters my inventory but the bed glitches out and appears in the house with half of it missing

CF mods are from robin and catalog (like elizabeth said). if it's a replacement mod it will just replace the regular furniture

Your content patcher mod folder needs (requires) two files: content.json and manifest.json
If it's using some images, you put those pngs into the folder too, so you can reference them

hey! I've been trying to install the new smapi beta (for use with some newer mods) and for some reason, the launcher crashes every time I try to open it. I've restarted my computer and re downloaded the files a few times but still having the same issue- it launched the first time to tell me I needed net 5.0, so I downloaded it, but every attempt since then it just crashes immediately. Any help would be really great!!

You should have only one copy of Ridgeside Village, it doesn't matter what the folder is named but there needs to only be one copy or SMAPI will not load it at all

there's been 1 hotfix version of 2.0 so far, the current version has a wrapper folder 'Ridgeside Development' (which is probably an accident but doesnt really matter)
For some reason with certin mods i get the same mod twice that pop up with a update which is really weird

Farm Type Manager is not a mod manager
It's a mod that allows other mods to spawn forage and other terrain features on farms

iirc, doesn't the can-harvest-with-scythe thing save per-plant?
you may have to get rid of that plant and replant it
I had a similar thing after removing CJB Cheats Menu without turning that particular feature off (I was still using mods though). You may need to reinstall SMAPI and CJB Cheats Menu, turn off the harvest with scythe, and then uninstall the mod and SMAPI
If you see a normal chicken, you should be in the vanilla version. If you ever installed XNB mods that would also persist.

Doesn't matter where as long as it's not in the game folder, you can put it anywhere or delete after it's done installing

Ok so now, I went to cjb cheats, turned it off. and then launched the .exe file on it own, and that version required using the scythe for harvesting

when either Immersive Farm or Grandpa's Farm are installed, they replace the "Standard" farm layout. You won't get an extra farm type in the selection list
No, they're not included, because some people like using the original standard farm

Define 'good' 😛 It depends on what you want from a farm. If you're playing single player give Grandpa's farm a go

cp mods generally don't become incompatible
unless vanilla actually changes something that would break them
(cp mods also arent generally on the compatibilty list for that same reason)
I think the only animal replacers that got broken over the years is..ducks? because they added swimming sprites
