if the log is showing that it's not updated, then it's not
can you set curvy girl mod to leave sleeves vanilla
it makes weird stuff sometimes
like polka dot shirts show the dots only when facing left or right, gaps with visible skin between shirt and sleeve

Remove Spacecore and Generic Mod Config from your Mods folder. Download 1.6.0 and 1.7.1 and put those in there.

my saves no longer exist i deleted them and yes i use vortex its easier for me

Heya, i want to know if there is a way around items which are added through two differed mods. I have the BFAV mod installed and the manure item is added through "so many horses" and "Bulls". When I load up the game it doesn't load either of them because the item ID is the same. Is there a way to make them compatible?
you could try to name the item differently in one of the mods, but you'd have to check every .json for it from that mod
(Use Notepad++ and then do CTRL + F, select Replace, type in the upper the actual item name and in the one below it the name you want)
Couldn't that cause other problems, because the id is already used by a vanilla item? Or will it work either way?
Nah it is not a vanilla item. Just the same items with the same name but two different mods. One adds Bulls to the game and the other one horses as barn animal.
since I'm assuming you're using [JA] (I'm not sure how to go about this with [DGA]), you can just change the Name. You'd have to search every other file in that mod for (example) Bacon n Eggs and simply replace it.

~~Hey so I hope this is the right channel. My save is modded so I figured I'd it post here.
I accidentally permanently deleted my main save file (no longer in the recycle bin) and also can't find it on my steam cloud. I'm trying to load from the backup, but it doesn't work and takes me back to the title screen /w an error. Pretty sure it's having issues with the Spacecore serialization files in the folder. Is there anything I can do to fix this, or is my save file doomed?

there are softwares to recover deleted files
the file is technically still on your drive until some other stuff overwrites it
I tried that actually and it unfortunately it didn't work. However I just removed the serialization files and the save loaded properly & regenerated the files on the next day. So disregard this, I guess! Thanks though!

it can remove those recipes and crops or whatever you want from the goal (if i remember correctly)

DGA versions of mod are not recommended for perfection
because they dont have PFM support

remove the TMXL segment (it's caused by a spouse room). But are you sure it's East Scarp?
When i take out the east carp mod it goes away

which I thought I'd fixed but it might be fixed on my version and not the uploaded version
what happens with Spouse rooms is that it layers all the spouse rooms on top of each other, with your spouse's on top
so if anyone has rearranged the tilesheet order, it throws off the auto-placement
(in this case it was caused by me forgetting to put a z in front of Lumi_interior - it'll be fixed when I update tomorrow)

Nagito's house only adds if you add him. so its currently a park

Nagito also hasn't been updated since January, so he's not fully compatible with SDV 1.5 and for East Scarp 2.0 you need to do a DIY patch to make him work
btw i instaled the combined girls mod pack but i only wanted shane so i left everything else at disabled (including changed conversations) and then instaled the extended dialogue pack AND changed the shane/marnie/jas files to the ones in the alternative extended dialogue pack
since i did not want to use the entire alternative pack cause not everyone was a girl
i think that did work

You're getting out of memory errors. You may want to consider removing some mods. Either that or checking each of your mods for whether or not they have versions for the beta, and updating to the beta if you can.

OutOfMemoryException errors on Windows mean that your game ran out of memory. The game only has access to a small part of your computer's memory by default. Have you checked your configuration settings?
if a sprite editing mod isn't working it's because another mod edits the same buildings and took priority, overwriting them again. It might be SVE, it might not. I'm not familiar with all the mods that do this.
if it is sve you should be able to stop it from doing so, with settings in its config file
SVE doesn't have any building recolors, Gwen has a medieval version for SVE buildings

i bet the config got eaten and everything was defaulted to off
the mod seems to be working, it is changing 2 [actually 3] of the buildings still.
but most of them got re-edited back to normal
you can stand in front of the building and run patch summary in the console to see what patches are being applied and why

about the only 'good' way to solve that sort of stuff
Vortex eats and messes stuff up when updating / removing mods, so if you use it, that's probably what's messing things up
that is usually not vortex's fault, but not going down that rabbithole, heh

anyhow, 'patch summary' in the console, that spits out alot of information into your log about the current content context
if your coop and barn are returning to normal and you have Animals Need Water, disable the option in that config

Got OOMs going on? It usually isn't caused specifically by one single mod, but Smapi says it is, it likes putting the blame on stuff

Did you delete old version or overwrote it? If you overwrote your old config will lack few buildings in the "BuildingsReplaced" list. You can delete the line altogether and let config update it or add all buildings to the list:

Is there a way to add the new beta SMAPI into steam to launch w achievements? It does not install like the last version so I cannot get the file path like before and if I type manually it says not recognised

I tried the console way first and it said press any key to continue but just closed itself instead so I did manual install
That's usually an indication that content patcher component isnt loading.
Hi all I am wondering if anyone has dealt with this before. I updated SMAPI and my mods last week then when I ran my game it would only load the vanilla game. I use mod drop and vortex, usually launch from mod drop. I got no black screen with the mods coming up just the game loaded. I uninstalled SMAPI and when I tried to reinstall it I get this message. I tried to install an older version and it gave me the same message but with that versions info. I deleted all my mods and smapi off my computer. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the game.
I'm on windows and running the newest version of the game. When I pull up StardewModdingAPI.exe I was getting this
but just looked again after just trying to install SMAPI again and now it says this:

No worries about spamming, but I have absolutely no idea how to fix either mod drop or vortex issues, let alone a combo of both
Anecdotally, a fair number of people have issues related to using mod managers, and they tend to make debugging things very difficult
They can be nice when they handle everything, but unfortunately when they don't handle everything it tends to be a bit more opaque
Possibly someone else will come by who knows something about one of those two
One thing you can check: Whether the folder path Users/Soulb/OneDrive/Desktop/Stardew Valley/smapi-internal exists
Your first SMAPI error is complaining that it doesn't
You probably want to install at the least SMAPI not through either mod manager

Your most recent SMAPI error is definitely something like, SMAPI isn't installed/installed wrong
I'm sure that's the issue but as far as I can tell I uninstalled/ deleted everything SMAPI and still having an issue. I am taking mod drop off now. vortex is Nexus mod launcher. (I think that's what its called)

You'll need to add into the Steam folder even if you use the mod managers
I'm pretty sure SMAPI needs to be there in order to modify the game at all
(assuming you got your game off steam)
Having it in the steam folder = putting it next to the game
You then have options on where to launch it from
(Vortex, Mod Drop, Steam, etc)

Yeah, I really don't know how mod drop/vortex do it, but now you should at least have SMAPI

I use do them manually
'running' it is fine, installing smapi thru some sort of program and not thru the regular smapi files is not really
Like I have a bunch of folders labeled like "Mods (SVE)" and "Mods (Sleepy Hollow)" and such
I rename each one to "Mods" when I want to use it

most mods is just lifting the folder from the zip and adding it to the mods folder yes

I didn't know you could do that and launch from steam and the mods worked.
launching from steam means adding the path the end of the smapi installer told you in green to the steam command line

New version has a major files restructure. That's why i wrote -> Do not overwrite, delete the old version, then put new one into Mods. The log shows CP updating old config file ( deleting no longer suppotred options ). It will fix most things but you'll end up with quite a few buildings that won't be on the "BuildingsReplaced" list and will stay vanilla. If you really want to keep the config file remove the "BuildingReplaced":"....", line and let CP remake it with updated list.

all bugs are either PyTK being incompatible with the game version people are using or other mods replacing the entire springobjects :/
Could be an interaction with that and something else editing springObjects too.
They're on 1.5.4. Not sure what other mods are editing it..maybe one of the food ones?

most of those mods overlay the entire springobjects to avoid the need to set edits for each sprite with coords separately 🙈

I think that's the point Lemurkat was trying to make, that if Lux's Food loads after those other mods because of the added false dependencies, then it doesn't matter whether they overlay the entire springobjects sheet or not. They'd do their overlay and then Lux's Food would edit it afterwards
some had success with renaming the mod folder to change the loading order

because there is no clear pattern. for some it worked when it was loaded first, for some when it was loaded last 😅

Renaming the folder isn't as effective a method as false dependencies, which is probably why people are giving mixed reports. Also no, you might not be able to add them for every mod people might use, but you could definitely add them for the most common ones that people are reporting? A lot of authors do that for compatibility with recolour mods

Name a mod that does what? Adds false dependencies? You could probably bring up a list of popular CP mods, close your eyes, and point at your screen to hit a mod that uses false dependencies. There's tons

FeTK has been broken for a long time, dont use it
YEh, narrowing it down to which ones it clashes with would indeed be extremely challenging. I'd say Stardew Foliage Redone is almost certainly one, since I've seen that in a couple of logs (including one that had very little else); potentially also Sunny crops and some of Cometkins perhaps? Unsure how they patch the images. I"m using Vibrant Pastoral, but I think that is designed to load early.

My patch export of the springobjects (ignore everything lower and the massive gaps, that's the modded stuff). The smaller, higher up blank spaces are the cooked dishes, which I guess get added in in a different manner? Nothing else appears to be missing. And I can see that Vibrant Pastoral has been applied to the applicable places.
Honestly patch summaries and logs would help identify the most likely clashes. But it would be a chore and a half to uncover them all.
(okay Sunny Crops is also fine with it)
I need some help, I tried downloading Stardew Modding API (SAMPI) and at first I couldn't find it after doing the Windows installer. Once I did I by doing a "search this PC" in file explorer dragged the StardewModdingAPI into the Stardew Valley Mods folder but now neither Steam nor the Stardew Valley app icon on my computer will open. It just shows a short less than a second spinning wheel then stops. I can still open other things like an internet browser though.
I also did try restarting my computer.
so the stardewmoddingapi should be opened outside the folder. IF you double click the icon it pops up a little box that first asks you the directory code, then asks for you to 1. install smapi or 2. uninstall smapi.
I did that and installed it

Okay, I deleted the smapi files under stardew valley mods and now stardew valley will open, I redid that window with the install smapi but still can't get Steam to open and smapi is just there but not appatched to the game

If it's a verified issue caused by another mod, then sure, report it to the other author and note in your mod description that it's incompatible with that mod. Lemurkat's not that author though, and as far as I've seen in this conversation so far, you've first denied that there's any issues at all, then tried to deflect it onto being an issue with PyTK, then tried to ignore the suggestions we made, then sat back and let Lemur debug for you. If you're working on it, you're doing a good job not showing it
congrats to have so much imagination to read all of this into it 🙂 maybe put it to use for something nice instead of blaming people for stuff you don't know about. 🤷♂️
Additionally, encouraging people to make edits to other mods in order to make them compatible with yours is pretty damn rude

Because community is about respect for other people and respect for their work, which includes not editing it or telling other people to edit it without checking if they're okay with that first. I would've thought that this would be basic knowledge.

It's also from the view that most people using mods have no idea how to do these things. People barely know how to unzip a file, let alone how to edit. And half of those won't read the description on the front of a page, let alone instructions, so it is up to the modder to fix the issues or they just get a downvote and the person doesn't get people enjoying the mod that they themselves put so much awesome effort into making 🙂

@cobalt creek Please try to tone down the standoff-ishness in chat - (in)compatibility issues are a reality when making mods, and as frustrating as it can be to have reports over problems caused by other mods, there's no use in leaving sarcastic remarks to other unrelated creators in chat
(and yes, i've had to deal with very, very many compatibility issues with my own releases, so this isn't all coming from nowhere)
Other authors are suggesting solutions and raising problems, so it's best to take them at face value and try to get the most from their posts as you can

This SMAPI beta is so frustrating 🙃 I decided to do a fresh install after cleaning up my pc files etc but the windows installer still CTD after pressing “any button”, i want to use the launcher to get the file path to use in steam, because inputting the path manually said steam could not find it 🙃

You could also try Fishing Info Overlay since it has a fish preview option 😄 Though it's not a box on the side like Fish Preview, it changes the generic fish icon that moves up & down into the actual fish sprite. Not sure if it's Android-compatible, but one of the comments has more info and the author is active in this server

In your unzipped SMAPI installer folder, could you enter cmd into the addres bar, and then in the command prompt run the batch file just by entering "install on windows.bat" ?
The command window should remain open after it's hit the CTD, and then you can share the error here

Hey, does anyone know of a mod where I can delete large boulders/stumps? Either directly, or by temporarily upgrading tools (with a way to revert them back to basic?). I have a cabin set up I would like to use to start the game, but I have debris in the way. But I don't want something that will clear all of the debris on the farm, just the areas I need to build, so we can still get the resources as we progress

Neither of these have a super high drop chance, so it could be just bad luck

I'm not 100% sure how well it works, I believe it worked well as of 1.4
But is quite broken in 1.5/abandoned due to becoming vanilla feature

After you download the beta, and update Smapi, go ahead and launch the game to the main menu. It'll tell you which mods are incompatible so you know which ones to look at to see if they have a beta version
I think if you update content patcher most mods that use content patcher should work? but i could be completely wrong
As long as you don't load into your 1.5.4 save, it's fine to check mod compats and then downgrade if needed

Well, I found one really sketchy looking youtube video with a download link in the description but I didn't download bc I don't want viruses on my computer from random downloads; also I don't speak Portuguese so idk if it's actually a mobile MP mod. there's an outdated windows-only multiplayer mod from before SDV on PC had MP, but it doesn't work on mobile. So idk what your friends are using.

It's probably not going to get developed; there is demand for it certainly on the player side, but on the mod-maker side most of us use PC, and so developing for Android is harder
Plus, the 1.5 update is going to drop at some point presumably, which will likely break Android mods in a new and interesting way
And making a multiplayer mod is super super hard code-wise
I can make basic C# mods, but the expertise to do multiplayer without any built-in game support kind of boggles my mind

that toned down mod is just amazing....
there’s a mod called dynamic sleeves on moddrop
this is with spritemaster installed which smooths pixels. your game is fine, it’s just this mod that does that

Anyone have any suggestions for forcing mail recipes being resent during current saves? I reverted to an older version of JA FtF and they are missing. I tried to reset my skills with CBJ and no luck so far

i had DGA and reverted to JA because items were missing and the recipies were coming up blank in the mail.

just download the JA version if you can until DGA becomes more stable
if you have CJB cheats you can populate a perfumery without the recipe, but you cannot craft it or the bouquets
and i havent looked into the potted flowers yet. im assuming its the same deal. can populate but no crafting
I remember getting potted flower recipes in the mail daily

Well before I added the mods I would dig where the worms were and I'd find them or stones or clay but now I click them and nothing. Sometimes I get clay but most of the time it just disappears. But I will just do what you suggested. Thanks.
i don't think you'll get the letters you already got again, because mail framework mod only sends them once and it's based on the letter id as far as i know, not on whether you got the recipe or not. i think you'd need to edit your save to remove the mail flags to get the letters again

That's pretty weird, I'm not sure what's wrong
But that does sound like a definite bug of some kind
Unfortunately you might have to binary search through your mods
(Try loading half, see if the problem persists, etc to narrow it down)

cant use smapi (dont ask why), what are the best mods that don't require it? (I know there aren't many but I just wanna change up the game)
