@final oar can you try these files out instead? go into the ridgeside folder > [TMX] Ridgeside Village > assets and delete RoomDaia and RoomJio and replace them with these
is it okay if someone else tries them for you guys? my laptop is very old and slow and it takes me about 10 minutes each time i close out the game and restart it for it to load in lol

Yep! Sterling in fact has double the amount of heart events that vanilla does (I really wanted to tell a fleshed out story!) + The crew lives and interacts with the ES people? Unsure of what you mean by fusion

Am I correct in my understanding that the DGA versions of PPJA mods are "broken" and we should be using the older JA versions instead?
There are the culprits
but it doesnt affect map
not necessarily broken but they dont work with PFM so its best to stick to the JA ones
this isnt a full log, launch the game and get into your save then send a log
If it happened on a season change, it might be missing seasonal tilesheets?

Kiwi seems to get a friend now in RS update

Happens sometimes when you install something new that some old game files are overwritten and then you update that mod something gets deleted so the game can't access that anymore at all.
Imagine a hectic mother who should know her children's names but mixes them up regularly because she has to remember so much other stuff.
i just removed my tilesheets from if2r path...

I might suggest someone petition the maintainer of the PPJA mod pages to make a note about the broken PFM support and the pile of broken "DGA Objects" that Gus sells ... Going to the JA versions seems to fix it so far but definitely sad about the trees I lost. Still, rather lose a few items than the hours spent playing, but would also rather have known from the start that there were non-trivial issues. Thanks again.

Very much a shame - the mods are wonderful so far as my experience goes.
Paradigm has retired months after 1.5 release if I remember correctly.
I think you can submit pull requests on github for the ppja suite, so if someone fixes it then paradigm or someone else with permissions will probably upload the new version to Nexus
but until PFM is DGA compatible, that's unlikely to happen

RSV shouldn't be causing your savefile to crash, so a log would be helpful if you can cause it again!

Some backup mods work after every in game day. It depends on how much you play. Someone who plays several hours a day would benefit from an extra mod more of course.

This channel was actually created to separate mod user chat from mod maker chat. People are doing great at keeping up with questions here. At times the activity is really low, too. So IMO I wonder if a new channel would really help 😅

I'd say that questions that get lost, get lost because no one atm has the answer and the chat is free-flowing past
I think part of the reason this gets suggested is that not everyone is used to following multiple conversations at the same time, which is definitely something I had to learn
It does happen—with some regularity people need to repost their questions
But it's not incredibly frequent
If the people on don't know the answer to the question though, idk if that really counts as the question getting lost? o:

we encourage everyone to bring their questions up again after a certain time period in case someone can eventually answer.

That's true! But I just want to say I definitely think the idea of a separate channel would be amazing so people think less this is exclusively a help/questions chat and feel more comfortable actually posting modded gameplay fun stuff

SVE? Yeah, it does. SVE alters the vanilla map, Ridgeside only alters a small portion of the bus stop, so it's compatible with a lot of mods

ID Shuffle for json assets mods and map problems for mods that change new maps(most can be solved by resetting terrain tho)

Nothing - I was just trying to track down the source of your error and that's about as far as I got. I don't think any of your mods actually affect that bit of code at all though
(I'm not absolutely sure - I don't know how pytk works, for one)

@small carbon - for RSV 2.0, probably best to delete the previous installation of the mod (save any config file, I don't recall if there's any) and install fresh

I been trying to change the portraits because I don't like the art style of it. Since I'm doing this on mobile, it won't work the normal way. So I just changed the portraits by replacing them in the game file. But it only work if I launch the original game. I couldn't get it to work using smapi. Is there a way to fix it.
is anyone else having the issue with the building for sale in downtown zuzu? in the forest, theres a building for 25k gold and it took the payment but i still cant access it :( it just prompts me to pay every time i interact
If you're on Android, you can still use SMAPI and Content Patcher (CP) to change the portraits. You just need to make a CP pack
It's pretty simple to set up, and you can look at an existing portrait mod to see how they do it! #making-mods-general can help with additional guidance

I don't believe it has a mobile compat version because of it's release date. Usually if a mod has it, it'll be under misc files

Something really needs to be done about PyTk with the beta.. My game still hadn't fully loaded into a save in an hour ( From Smapi launching to loading into the save, I didn't even get INTO the save ), with only 450 mods, none of which were custom music heavy. Nor SVE.
Was fine with that mod number before the beta
Actually, I think I had closer to 480 mods before the beta, SVE included without optimizing it's CM, and it still wasn't anywhere near that long of a load time

i have pyTK and 803 mods and it takes like 12 minutes or so to get from clicking play to being in the save
CM with music heavy mods adds quite a bit of load time when it's not converted / preload is false. I know it's not 100% PyTk's fault, but it also only happens when PyTk is in my mod's list. Even if I only have basic core mods like generic mod config, CP, CJB, etc, it has an insanely long wait time for only 20 mods if PyTk is included. But without it, there's no wait

on those that i saw the hangs were seemingly random though and i don't think the reason for them was ever found out
I'm letting the log load fully for me so I can screenshot the spot where it tends to lag the most, both with Smapi launching and when trying to get into the actual save
It's.. sort of random when it does it, like it just picks a random mod and gets stuck on it, but if I remove that mod, it just picks another, completely random one to do it to

I have a similar thing where it "looks" like SMAPI is hanging on loading JA stuff and that's what takes a while. I haven't dug through the Trace part of my log though.
My case is also nowhere near as bad though, even with 1.5.5 my game still takes about 5min to load from launch to the save

you probably do want to look at how much physical ram you're using, if you're dipping hard into swap, that will completely gut your performance

swap, page file, depending on who you talk to, it's also usually written as 'commit charge' as well
in vanilla task manager you will see something like commit (GB): 18/36 or similar
atleast in 7, no idea what travesty w10 taskman looks like
resource monitor is also fairly decent for seeing how much actual ram you're using ucrrently

yeah, it fluxuates alot as its loading, I'm mainly trying to see if you're hitting the limits of your physical ram (thats what usually causes massive slowdowns like you're seeing)

Yep. And if you do accidentally load it without the mods, just don't save the day, exit out and put them back in, won't harm anything

Oh, actually I should have mentioned this earlier. Even with barely 200 mods ( SVE included, right now I don't use it ) , I was still getting around an hour to load fully
Something changed randomly, and it started lessening, but it was still there when I had less than half the mods I do currently

Tried it before ( Though I wasn't actively doing it, I was just trying to test my farm map ) , PyTk was causing the most issues
It's not the most helpful thing to say, but with only 20 or so mods, and them all being some sort of utility mod, I was loading within a minute, to over ten minutes when the only difference was "PyTk" or "no PyTk"
I know there were issues found aboiut how it scans for save games (or rather how it made that screen take forever to load) not sure if that ever got fixed any

yeah, could end up being literally one mod doesnt like an other and it gets stuck in a race condition/loop while loading, was a big issue with that with Zuzu/sve/couple of other conditions that totally froze and broke the npc pathfinder
some time back anyway, think that's fixed now
I have Zuzu, I could test without it? See what the game thinks? But it was happening with SVE when I didn't have Zuzu

well, zuzu is also really large, I found it tended to increase my load times a good deal just on its own

I have Steam and SMAPI and can run the vanilla game fine. However, I can not find on the Linux side where I have to put the mods I have downloaded from Nexxus. I do not know Linux well and have to do everything by the command line. Is there anyone who can help me move the mods I have into the correct place?
I have read the instructions and have not been able to find the folder it mentions.

Files with the extension .zip, .rar, or .7z are archive files, which you can extract to get the actual files inside. For a .zip file, just right-click (or long-press on Android) it and choose the option like extract or uncompress. For .rar and .7z, you need to install third-party software first, like 7-zip https://7-zip.org on Windows, Keka https://keka.io on macOS, PeaZip https://peazip.github.io on Linux, or ZArchiver https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.zdevs.zarchiver on Android.

quick question, if i download a map, will it mess up an old save of the map it replaces?
its a whole lot simpler if you use tab completion for it to do it for you. type mv a<tab> (continue pressing tab til it shows the right folder), space, ~/local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/st<tab>/M<tab>
basically, you type the first couple of letters, hit tab until you get the right folder, hit /, tab until you get the right folder again, repeat til folder is complete
and farm maps are 'usually' ok, but if you have crops and stuff planted they may end up out of bounds
all hitting tab does for me is flash the cursor
type mv a into the command line and then press tab

If you can get the beta versions of important mods you use, then you don't need to start over afaik
tried it a couple of days ago, i couldnt load my save file. it keeps going to title screen. but yeah i guess i should migrate now.
Hm, have you looked or asked if there is a way to convert the save then? I dont know but could be worth a shot.

Thanks guys - It was a audio driver issue! Updated my audio drivers and it has resolved it.

Hi! Can you try installing the .NET 5 runtime (".NET Runtime 5.0.12" on the right, at the bottom) instead of the SDK, and see if that works?
If anyone has a moment, could they check out my SMAPI log? I was having a problem where every time I tried to sleep/save it would freeze and say I ran out of memory but today it is saying something different
I binned the backwoods mod and have also updated all suggestions (I think manifest files are not complete?) - Wallpaper mod is also updated to the unofficial Wallpaper Redux so idk why it still says the old one

Yes, I changed the easy fishing 2.0 to fishing made easy suite
It's erroring out on having a fish in the fishing table that doesn't exist, best I can tell
You could try verifying game files to see if that resets maybe??

does it change the visual appearance and not just the outfit?
There's usually two or more options
- The vanilla villager
- The diverse edit of the villager
Both come with the same outfits
you can also toggle all villagers or every individual villager
aka if you want all villagers to be vanilla except for Evelyn, for whom you want the diverse edit, you can toggle that iin the config

You just download the one you want, immersive or grandpa's, NOT both, and start on the standard farm as that's what they replace, hence why you can't have both

Does anyone know how to fix recolor/farm map errors? My farm map got altered and I don't know how to revert it back to its original state. I tried loading old saves, but it didn't work.
i just recently redownloaded smapi due to having factory reset my laptop. as well as im trying to get a friend to start modding that wants too. neither of us can get smapi to work right. mine redlines and hers wont even open
any suggestions?

it worked fine before the factory reset but now it redlines and i dont have that many mods yet

It looks like you need to update 2 pretty important framework mods and install Custom Furniture. Did SMAPI completely crash?
thats the thing i went to check and the mods are up to date. and yes custom furniture is installed as well.
is there a mod where you can play your own music in game? ik you can just turn down the music in the settings but carrying around like a walkman and having it link to a database fo songs seems cute...

I figured. SMAPI can be a huge pain. Try running the game without SMAPI.

Hmm. Did you try reinstalling SMAPI? I'm nowhere near an expert, but sometimes reinstalling it helps me.
I usually reinstall SMAPI and the mods and try again.

It says you don't have custom furniture. So install that. And try reinstalling the mod menu.
No option in gmcm still unfortunately :< i already looked at the smapi log last time and no errors showed up but ill check again-?
(Also everything just showed up as the vanilla sprites in game)

Go into the config and set up the paths you want to use as connectors
