it uses PFM and will get along with automate and combinemachines exactly as well as any other PFM pack
there's a PFMAutomate mod to make PFM get along with automate, but i don't know how well combinemachines handles automate compatibilty

vortex deletes manifests sometimes, moddrop likes to autoupdate your mods even when you really don't want it to (like automatically updating to an unstable beta version with no way to opt out), and neither of them handle any mod with update or install installations more complicated than "drop mod in mods folder, click Overwrite if necessary"
(and a bunch of mods have update instructions of "delete old version then install new version)

Hello! Would anyone know if it's possible to edit an existing mod for personal use? A mod I'm using has a feature that I want to turn off but there's no way to do it through the mod itself at the moment
it's possible - easier with a mod that uses .json code than a mod that uses C# code
well the mod has the config and manifest .json files as well as a .dll and .pdb
thats a SMAPI mod that uses C#, if you have any C# knowledge and the mod is open source you can remove it
It doesn't appear to be open source sadly, so i guess I won't be able to make changes
run the game
config files are usually not included in a mod, smapi generates them when the game is launched if they dont already exist
(it'd be very rude of the mod author to include the config and overwrite all your set values every update!)

That version is outdated and no longer supported. On the nexus page, there should be a link to the mod author's Github. From there you can get the latest version under Releases

Regarding performance with mods... does Stardew pause while loading sprites? So e.g. if an NPC enters the map, could a stutter be from their sprite being loaded?

I'm getting a horendous jolty spike that comes prob every three minutes playing. It's not unplayable, but it is emersion breaking

That just exports the dialogue as it is being recognized by the game. And yep!
Make sure you get the path right or it will crash.

I just realized I have the latest version of mods...but android SAMPI is 3.7, and the mods run on 3.8. Time down downgrade the mods, which is never fun.

its only mentioning a few items, go into the JA folder for artisan goods and check if yeast (for example) is there more than once

It will actually stop loading when it's not the primary app, in certain stages of loading (at least in my experience)

One thing that would be nice with a mod manager is if it told me which files are being modded and by which mod

I have only modded 2 games in my life skyrim and minecraft in these 2 games most of the mods you can install in the middle of a game can you do the same with most stardew valley mods ?

There really isn't any way around the fact that there are a lot of day-end processes that need to run
i mean until save anywhere broke recently there was a way around it
My understanding is that save anywhere broke because of this
but I am not an expert in this specific mod
I don't know of any others and for the reasons I said above I wouldn't be surprised if there aren't any, as it would require technical expertise to do
save anywhere is not good, it may have worked for you for years but its been prone to breaking saves
the game doesnt fully save or roll things over until you sleep, so save anywhere goes against that logic

Make sure your zoom and UI scaling are the same percent, or use UI Info Suite 2, which is available on the mod author's Github. You can get the link from the nexus mod description
For some reason in my game, I can't buy or see normal chickens at all in Marnie's, only golden ones. I am nowhere near perfection, either. Have zero idea what's causing this--long shot, but has anyone else had this issue? Here's my log just in case, though nothing stands out to me:

I never did time Sims 3 with mods but it certainly felt like it took at least 15min to load
Idk I got Sims 2 ultimate collection or whatever and that seems to load at the speed of light by comparison. Although it doesn't feel quite as fun for some reason
the unofficial patch for sims 3 was made this year, so if you last checked Mod The Sims more than a couple months ago you probably missed its existence

save creation takes 8 minutes, loading game takes 5, with 768 mods (some of those 777 from earlier were duplicates, there was a greenhouse clash and a farm map clash, and Jasper had an invalid tilesheet so i deleted the entire mod out of caution)
this is a higher modcount and a faster loading time than my 1.5.4 unofficial 64-bit loadout

Does anyone have the child age up mod?? It's not working for me. They're going out, but they're not actually aging anymore. I deleted other mods to see if it could be because of them because of what it says in mod description. They'll get to the third stage then stop

iirc Child Age Up relies on Child to NPC right? If so, Child to NPC is quite buggy unfortunately

Yes and you have a couple of options to switch between modded and not modded (vanilla). See below

try setting the config from "auto" to "False" and choose the spouse from their list that most resembles your spouse

I have a problem. I unlocked the greenhouse a few days ago but it's like way too small for me. I tried using a mod to make it bigger but whenever I try walking to the greenhouse, all of the textures including MC disappear. It's just a blob of three or four different colors. I'm using SVE with the Grandpa's Farm map. Tried to use Pookachu's Insane Greenhouse.

SVE grandpas farm uses an upgraded greenhouse. We had this issue. We used greenhouse upgrades mod and the 2 mods dont compute. I would suggest - if you want to use another mod on top of SVE. Go into the SVE config file (from memory.. it might be the grandpas farm file) and change the greenhouse option to "false" the greenhouse will most likely super break when you do this. But it can be fixed. The best way to fix it is to use a pick to return all the tilles soil to normal ground. And this is best done before making the changes to the mod files.

Your log shows that those are the only ones that are loading. They are not in your trash. Unless your log isn't up t odate and you did stuff inbetween. See the second line of log for the correct path.
Removing Love of Cooking fixes my issue. Now to figure out what Love of Cooking has a problem with. 🤔 Guess some recipe stuff ... well, lets dig in.
It's an issue with [PPJA] Fruits and Veggies probably because either it doesn't add everything Love of Cooking needs or it does add something in a slightly different manner.
Well, alternatively it's something that depends on Fuits and Veggies ... I'll see.
Interesting Love of Cooking seems to have detection for Fuirts and Veggies based on JA but no DGA.

Well for some reason (as far as I can tell) Love of Cooking won't allow me to enter the community center because it fails to properly setup some cooking bundle. So far it looks like this is due to the actual PPJA Fruits and Veggies (or more likely one of the mods that depend on it) not setting up the recipe for applepie but neither does Love of Cooking because it does detect Fruits and Veggies.

Did you install the Desktop or Console version for .net 5? You need the desktop version.
Make sure it's 64 bit, rather than 32.
It's Desktop 64bit... I installed it manually and no issues. Autoinstaller... not so much
Run dotnet --list-runtimes to check that it is properly installed as well. You should see two lines.
In addition that entry should show Microsoft Windows Desktop Runtime.
