its saying I need to use smapi beta but I am also on the latest version of the game so im kinda confused
it looks like you installed the beta for SVE instead of the normal version. the beta version is for the 1.5.5 beta that you can opt into on steam if you'd like
this could explain that error lmao
if youre not opting into the beta: delete SVE and the mods that come bundled with it (custom music, custom NPC fixes, custom NPC exclusions) and install the latest version that isnt the beta
if you wanna keep these versions, opt into the beta on steam!

If so, I'd say you need that 
although it depends on whether even with Custom Cask Mod and that component, the cask accepts the sparkling wine

If you launch the game through smapi it should say at the top of the screen iirc

I've been playing multiplayer with some friends for a while now and the object reference not set to an instance of an object error has been plaguing us on and off

Can't for the life of me figure out how it's being caused
With the added context that one of the friends playing with me has played with all these mods single player and not had any problems at all
If I was to take a guess, something is going wrong when items are being created by machines added by mods and some odd interaction with Expanded Storage since that's pretty much the only mod referenced in the error

I'm not sure if it's relevant but in the first block of red text, Skipped mods, it says you have a mod that wasn't added because you are missing a dependency (which is formatted as ModAuthorName.ModName). Install that dependency
OH, right, that, I've been adding that mod back in on and off because it was also included in the later errors, but wasn't necessary for us to play. I just didn't take out the mod that needed it
I see that right before the wall of red errors, in the Trace log there's a message that says Warping to Shed222fa7a2-e055-431b-94d2-fa715417d9e7
So I'd guess there's a machine in the shed trying to process something through Producer Framework Mod (PFM) and it's not going well. I don't really know much about how Expanded Storage works so I'm not sure how that will figure in
the Expanded Storage mod author does frequent this server though (LeFauxMatt#6785 nickname furyx639)
You're not wrong, it's our main shed and has furnaces added by Industrialization processing ores. I know it's related to those somehow because if you don't use them, everything is fine. It isn't always connected to the shed though either, we've gotten that error just having mod added machines directly outside. But we can also go several in-game days with the mod added machines without issue, which is where my confusion is coming from
Basically, it's easily solved by not using those machines, but everything in me wants to know what's happening lol

Nah I wouldn't even blame the machine itself, I'd suspect it's a specific item or set of items it's trying to process and then it goes kablooey

Lol, they are, we keep putting down and picking up the same modded machines. You know, definition of crazy, keep doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome

that's something! So furnaces added by Industrialization specifically? There was an add-on for Industrialization that recently came out. If you know for sure it's the furnaces, does it vary based on what the input / output is, or is it just any time the furnaces are used?
you can certainly toss them. I'm not sure which mod adds those but you can search your Mods folder in the file explorer window for that name and see what it finds
Well that's the frustrating part, it's not like there's a lot of options that can go in the machines. They take the normal ores, or there's one machine we use that breaks them down into dusts added by Industrialization, plus one crafted dust. I just don't know which out of those could be the problem. The other issue is this has happened with other machines not related to Industrialization that we had in a shed, I just don't have a log from that saved unfortunately

If you have CJB Cheat Menu then you could warp to your farm ( Highly recommend just in case you get stuck or somehow an item of yours gets deleted or glitched and you need a new one )
You should be able to keep running left at the bottom of the screen and get back to Cindersap Forest unless it's blocked for some reason
so, i have cjb, but i turned it off for this, i want to experience it no cheats

i found the culprit, is a mod called "Raffadax Teas and Trees" i dont think theres an option to turn of the forageables completely
i can't use cjb other than for debugging purposes
Yea, basically, go down until your screen stops scrolling downwards and stay on the path to the left
Oh man, those files are a labyrinth for trying to turn off specific forage

like, some are cheap and cool to find, some are like "am I supposed to get this"?
If you go to the map in your inventory screen, can you see your little dot on it? That should help get you around. I'm pretty sure the map for the world is correct when everything for SVE is installed
Yea, that mod is just Like That. Keep everything though, even the stuff that seems wildly expensive, you may not find it again for a long time

Up to you. Those 2 you'll get later since they're vanilla items, but the mod itself adds a lot of other extra foragables

I tried parsing my husband's latest save, and I got an internal server error. Three times.
I have a feeling those prices are just the vanilla prices for selling those, but yea, they probably are ridiculous just because of how much effort it usually takes to get them

It is the Aquarium mod. I had the same issue, i recently checked the bug reports on the mod and someone has already let the author know
hmmm okay. The Aquarium isn't a deal breaker for me but it's slightly disappointing

Nexus' is out of date. You need the unofficial version. The link I posted should be it, but I'm not sure the wiki is up to date with those mods either. SMAPI's console should be giving you the link to the one you need.
just double-click the link so it highlights the string and ctrl+c, that should do it

Skipped mods, it ignored the map mod. You don't have the tilesheet mod prerequisite it needs

I meant inside the Daisyneko's Tilesheets
this tilesheet mod may be an xnb mod instead of a Content Patcher mod. In which case you need to put it in the base game's files, not the mods folder. But I'm not sure.
Try moving the actual [CP] folder directly into Mods/

if that's the problem you will probably just have to un-sort your mods and just dump all of them in the parent folder.

If you open file explorer and paste %appdata%\StardewValley\ErrorLogs into the address bar you'll be taken to a folder that should have a file called SMAPI-Latest in it. You just open that file, copy-paste its contents in the smapi.io/log window
SMAPI fails to load a mod if it's config.json file is set to Read-Only.
Is there anyways to get it to load a mod anyways in this case?
I'm wanting to package mod settings with the mods and make them so user's can't change the settings, thus I need the file to be read only
e.x. tractor mod can easily be configured to be incredibly overpowered and I'm trying to avoid players changing their mod settings to unlock their tractors early or enable tractor tools I don't want enabled, such as destroying floorings and objects
(I should mention, I'm using software that prevents the user from normally being able to access the files normally) (Turbo Studio if anyone has heard of it)

@dusky canyon @stuck cliff I'm slowly refactoring NPC Map Locations to handle edge cases. Can you try again with this version, and post your new log if you still have errors?
SMAPI needs write access to the config file because it'll resave a normalized version. Making the mod files readonly files isn't really supported since mods often need to change them at runtime. One option would be to write a custom C# mod which scans the mod folders and performs a checksum on each file to make sure it wasn't changed from the default, and refuses to join the server or something if they changed.
On nexus better married Shane comes up, but when loading game says it isn't a SMAPI mod

Better Married Shane hasn't been updated since 2017. It's an XNB mod. You'd need to convert it to Content Patcher to safely use it.

Yeah, seemingly no one has commented on that mod since 2018... Makes sense that even the Content Patcher version wouldn't be still be up.

In order to use Better Married Shane, you'd likely have to make the Content Patcher conversion yourself. Or find someone willing to do it for you.

It should tell you where it can be updated. If it’s still saying it can be updated, there’s a few possibilities:
- Update key has mistakes in it
- The newest update is actually a beta version and you don’t want that
- You forgot to put the new download into the mods folder

To be honest, although it’s good practice to keep your mods up to date, as long as you’re relatively up to date it should be fine
Sometimes there’s specific updates for more content or to fix bugs

You can check when your download is from, and also check when the last updates were by checking file info on your computer and the file details on nexus
The files you have contain the version number in the manifest.json file
You can manually compare to the Nexus version numbers if needed

Also other people report in the post comments that the manifest has a version number typo that’s the reason you’re getting the warning, so you should definitely be fine to ignore it.

Found out the issue, the categorize items menu cut off the last few rows so Cloth was on the bottom, but you couldn't get to it. I posted an unofficial update on my Discord, and the fix will be posted officially this weekend.

if you want to remove sweet tooth completely, you need to remove the items you have from it in your game. if you only wanna remove the duplicate item you can go into the JA folder of sweet tooth and remove the strawberry icecream

hi I'm new to mods and trying to install CJB on Mac! I've followed all advised steps: install mono, install smapi, moved files to "Mod" file
but when Smapi tries to open SDV it's stuck on "Launching mods..."

Considering that Chromebooks have the Google Play store, I'd assume it's similar to modding on Android? Take this with a big grain of salt though.

You'll have a chance at getting a json shuffle, but neither mod changes the vanilla map beyond Ridgeside's entrance at the bus stop. If you don't mind the possibility of some of your items turning into other things ( Easy to fix, have CJB item spawner so you can add the glitched items back in ) , then go ahead, it won't cause any issues beyond that
Aside from taking longer to load the game, but that's not breaking it, it just has more to load
but stardew valley expanded changes the left side of the map and makes it larger near where the deepwood are would that not break the deepwood upgrade mod?

@tawdry ridge May well be, but the general problem is, that SMAPI tells me, that I have completely other versions. For example it says, that I use CJB Cheats Menu 1.23.1, but Vortex says (and nexus from where I downloaded it), that I use Version 1.29.1
I've heard people on here say Vortex can be a little persnickity, so try updating those four mods manually and see if it works.
But yeah, for CJB Cheats and Item Spawner, manual installing should help.
I've heard Vortex can mess with manifests.
Or just generally be a bit finicky.

CJB Item Spawner says that it's missing a manifest. My guess is that would be Vortex's doing. A manifest is just a file in a mod.

Not to discourage you, but you're in for a lot of work to get modded SDV on Android working. Just want to let you know what to expect. Mainly it's hunting down compatible versions of mods.
There used to be a google docs out there which tracked compatible downloads, not sure if it exists anymore

@covert glade OutOfMemoryException errors on Windows mean that your game ran out of memory. The game only has access to a small part of your computer's memory by default. 64-bit is the solution to that problem, and 88.8% of mods are compatible with the 1.5.5 beta, but if you're worried about the remaining 11.2% of mods that are broken then you may just have to wait until they are updated.
Otherwise, the workaround is to restart your game every few in-game days.
I think your mod list looks good to me, PyTK needs an unofficial update, and it's supposed to be really slow on 1.5.5 beta, but other than that they look like compatible mods
The biggest risk to using the beta is anytime there is another beta update it may temporarily break some mods, which has happened a couple times

The errors are probably coming from SVE not being installed properly. You said you installed it? Can you reinstall it again?
remove everything SVE related and reinstall it, download mouse's pond painter mod cuz it looks like its required, and download custom floors and walls cuz its also required

Oh, Custom NPC Fixes and Custom Music are included in SVE.
Open the file in Tiled
Just reinstall SVE and that should hopefully fix the issue!

With 1.5.5 beta versions being released, it's possible you might get a few update alerts. Just make sure you have the 1.5.4 compatible version and those should be safe to ignore.

Okay, for Rustic Country Walls and Floors, that's fine. You can ignore that. For Jungle Temple and City Bus, that can also be ignored. It's that Nexus takes the highest version number available on Nexus as the current version. So for Jungle/City it's counting the version number for TMXL, not the content pack itself, since it's included as an optional download.

The one thing I would suggest is removing the Masks folder because... It's just an empty folder. Other than that, no errors and you should be good to go!

Well I play with my own mod for one to make chests work the way I want them to

It's Expanded Storage, and some of what it does is cheaty like make chests hold more items, adds a search bar and tabs to find things more easily, and lets you craft/stash remotely
Besides that, I'll do things like use mods that make you walk faster, one click shed reloader
But my mod loadout are borderline QoL/efficiency/cheating

Hey all! I'm new to using mods, and am having an issue with the Rustic Traveling Cart mod by Riazaia on Nexus. SMAPI gives me an error message that starts with "/Users/-----/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Stardew Valley/Contents/MacOS/Mods/[CP] Rustic Traveling Cart/config.json" is denied." It also does not create a config file when loaded. Unsure how to go about fixing this, if anybody knows or could direct me to some one who might know, I'd appreciate it!

okay, so i turned on frozen time and endless energy, and one hit break on my sve farm, significantly reduced my stress levels
so um is there a way to change what map my save is on? cause i use to be on grandpas farm now im on the standard and all my farm objects are glitched up cause theyre placed according to grandpas grid
ill turn them off eventually, but i just hate the idea of endless clutter al the time

i opened up the grandpa farm mod folder and extracted the [cp] sub folder into the mods

Hello! I've installed the "Better Artisan Goods" mod by "cometkins" and it's meant to replace the rabbit's foot with a less disturbing four-leaf-clover and also change out all dialogue and naming to name the four-leaf clover instead of rabbit's foot.
However while in my settings it's ticked in... it doesn't actually do anything in game.
Do others have the same experience?

Hi, is it just me from the mobile platform having problems with recolor mods?

Even without having any recolor mod when I try to use it it doesn't work, currently only redone foliage
