@dire fractal If the file is too big, just relaunch the game and exit as soon as the errors start happening. Then you should be able to upload the new log.
You have a very old version of SMAPI; try updating to the latest version to fix most of those errors.

Yep, just download the latest SMAPI version and run the new installer; it'll clean up the old files automatically.

The vanilla profit margin setting, does it affect mod prices too?
Say I'm using SVE and artisan mods (without using SVE's built in profit margins setting),will it lower the amount of gold I make from everything or just vanilla alone?

PPJA - Artisan Valley comes to mind, I like what it adds, but looks like a ton of stuff. But generally in that category of mods, things that add new crops or goods to make and sell

@floral kettle There are two common reasons it may freeze or not launch on macOS:

You don't have Mono installed, which is a SMAPI requirement with Stardew Valley 1.5.4. You can try installing it from https://www.mono-project.com/download/stable to see if that fixes it.

There's a mysterious macOS issue in SMAPI 3.12.6+ which causes a freeze for some players (possibly related to M1 Macs). The only known fix is to downgrade to SMAPI 3.12.5, or opt in to the Stardew Valley 1.5.5-beta and SMAPI 3.13.0-beta.

I’m able to launch StardewModdingAPI through steam now but the SVE mod isn’t there in game.
@dire fractal Nope. If you play on Windows, you need to follow these steps: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Installing_SMAPI_on_Windows#Launch_SMAPI_through_Steam_or_GOG_Galaxy. You don't need to do anything on Linux/macOS.

What if you keep DGA, but remove the content packs for it? If that fixes it, try re-adding them one by one to see which one causes it.

Hi! One of our map gurus had this to say about your log:
The only warning that specifically mentions a shed is from Bigger Sheds (it reorders the tilesheets and I guess is missing one?), so I would try without that since the game has changed how the decorating works. IF2 doesn't have anything to do with the regular sheds, it just adds a separate buildable location that happens to be named RedShed.
That said, I suspect TMXL will need an update for the most recent beta even though it technically loads, and have not tested for any adverse effects using the Nexus version of IF2 with the latest build. The next update will eliminate the FTM pack and migrate the new location to CP, but I'm still thinking about the TMXL one, because I like being able to charge money/materials for the buildable if people want. Depends on the state of TMXL out of beta, I guess.

Okay, I warped her to me, and she gave me dialogue that I assume is attached to her spouse area. "Don't look too closely, it's a work in progress."
So I use the Yellog's Darkwoodand cream mod as well as the tile replacer mod which I believe changes the texture of the bed and the kitchen tiles, everything changed except for the bed which stayed the same vanilla texture. Does anyone know a way to fix this so that the bed changes when that type of mod is applied?

@topaz matrix Same as before: try to narrow it down to the specific DGA content pack(s) which cause the error.
beds changed in game version 1.5 and if the mod that changes them isn't updated for it it won't work
So I basically have to find updated mods that change the beds as well as the rest of the furniture, got it. Thank you for your help I have been pulling my hair out looking for answers.

Does anyone know what to do about the issue with the Denver NPC mod where he never leaves his room in the saloon and the door is inaccessible? It sounds like the door is invisible/placed oddly or something, so that keeps him from leaving the room. I was able to get him to leave by deleting the TMX file for the room altogether, but that will break a few of his cutscenes.

@fast river Some sort of error with DGA shops adding a duplicate item? See log with the error at the bottom (https://smapi.io/log/4146219fcecb4a1e8479094b54bc6f28), and log without Fresh Meat which seems to be the cause (https://smapi.io/log/e0e45709e4dc4d74bf695deb2af698cd).

i had cjb and instant buildings on and working fine with smapi, then i tried to use stardew valley expanded with its needed mods and now none of it is working
so i have deleted all mods and smapi and im gonna start fresh
And more are coming out as time passes, I too am working om a crop mod XD

hi! so I did try Custom NPC Fixes and still getting the same problem. here's my smapi log if you want to see it: https://smapi.io/log/6fdd0bcd88e443c9a376ede866bcc72e - as you can see, I ran a debug whereis command on the NPC a bunch of times when he was supposed to leave the saloon, and it appears he's walking in a straight line in a different direction (presumably clipping through the wall as others have noticed he likes to do)
if I delete the room so that he moves around as he is supposed to do and just doesn't have a bed, will that break my game? Some of his cutscenes are supposed to happen there, so I don't know if that will break something.
I suspect there is a pathing issue. Especially if using him with SVE. Have you tried installing Boarding House so he moves there instead?

PyTK is a) broken atm with an unofficial update and b) a framework mod (it doesn't do anything itself, it helps other mods)

Lookup Anything works on a hotkey, and it also has a search feature. It gives lots of information on items that you use it on, and there are screenshots on the mod description to show what it's like.
UI Info Suite is a combination of lots of UI enhancements (most which can be found independently). They include tooltips and other icons that always show on your screen, to provide helpful information. Mod description and screenshots show what those are. There is also a config where you can toggle on/off some of those features, and I think maybe even change how they work? I can't recall because it's been a while since I've used it.
In short: they are completely different mods aiming to do different things, but they both give extra information

Does anyone know if theirs a mod for seeing if you've donated an item when you've picked it up?
Hmm, not sure about that. I know there are mods that indicate whether an item is for a bundle, and if so what bundle it's for
So once you've donated it, it stops having that tooltip
(although I can't remember if this became a vanilla feature in an update)

I have a bunch of recipes that require weeds as a recipe material. Is this because I took mods like Chocolatier and changed their manifest dependencies to the new DGA versions of PPJA but not whatever internal pointers they have?

Egg Festival with almost all the Custom NPCs mods including Ridgeside but excluding SVE. Circles are when NPCs were on top of each other. I was doing it for compatibiltiy purposes.
@vivid minnow You have both Stardew Valley 1.5.4 (stable) and 1.5.5 (beta) files in that folder for some reason, which can cause all sorts of weird issues like that. I suggest...
- Back up your mods somewhere else.
- Uninstall the game.
- Completely delete
~/Library/Application\ Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Stardew\ Valley(if it wasn't deleted automatically). - Reinstall the game.
- Reinstall SMAPI.
- Reinstall your mods.
Then see if you still have errors.

I'd say yes. JA and DGA are different frameworks. JA packs need to be converted to DGA to work with DGA.
In vanilla, the icon in the right side of the inventory for bundles pulses when you hover over something in your inventory that's needed for the community center

Some people moved their mods elsewhere, like ModDrop, their own blogs or github pages. But for the most part it's still the same. I'd say the 1.5.5 update is a bigger shift but that more affects code mods than content packs

You can choose to make characters look different or just have the seasonal outfits, and you can change up quite a bit about their appearance.
You can also always give a test run and go for Slightly Cuter if it's not to your taste!

Diverse has a detailed site with all the options. Look it up if you choose that one
Yeah, Diverse basically changes the characters to make them more diverse. Stardew Valley is overwhelmingly white, so characters are changed to POC, have visible disabilities, and more that adds to the representation in the town. They'll look different than they usually do.
If you wanna keep CA's designs, go for Slightly Cuter!

I just installed SVE and all of it's dependencies and the mod works fine, but all of the vanilla maps that were changed still have the default spawn locations for debris, trees, bushes and such. I already browsed through the nexus and Chucklefish forums and couldn't see anything about it.

@granite heron Reset Terrain Features (https://smapi.io/mods/#Reset_Terrain_Features) is a mod that lets you reset, clear, or generate everything that spawns on a map using an in-game menu. That's especially useful when changing maps mid-save, as the debris will otherwise use the old layout (causing things like trees in the water or bushes blocking exits).

- Grab Reset Terrain Features and Noclip Mode to set you up, and Crop Transplant Mod for a way to move your crops and trees.
- Before you install the new map, you'll need to remove all machines / chests / etc. on your map. You can store them in a chest, preferably inside your farmhouse or barns /coops / sheds.
- Go to Robin and move any buildings you have as close to the farmhouse as possible. Save before going to the next step.
- Add the new map mod (ensure it replaces the farm type you're using, i.e. Standard, Riverland, Hilltop, or Wilderness), and you'll spend some time moving everything to a proper place.
You can use Reset Terrain Features to reset the bushes, trees, and other debris.
Noclip Mode will help you reach any things that ended up in the void or an invalid tile.

Hi! This fixed the issues in the terminal. No more block of red. However, now the game launches but it opens a black, unresponsive screen. I read in a forum someone else with a M1 chip mac had the same issue.

There were a few people that said running thru rosetta also worked around the issue, but that was a week or more ago
Actually, if you want to stick to CA's designs, you're better off using Diverse Stardew Valley, since it includes the default designs too and it's not mandatory to use the diversity edits 😄 Slightly Cuter is close to the default, but it does make visual changes

@dire fractal SMAPI 3.13.0-beta isn't an executable anymore, we essentially just run dotnet StardewModdingAPI.dll; so I'm hoping that means we don't need an ARM build of SMAPI, since dotnet for MacOS is presumably ARM-compatible.

If you have an M1 Mac, you’re probably already using Rosetta without realizing it. The first time you launched an app that requires it, an alert appeared to tell you the Rosetta is needed and ask for your permission to install it. After the installation, Rosetta is automatically available to any app that needs it. The same goes for M1 apps. If a native app is available, your Mac will automatically run that version.

@royal arrow Apple is moving to a custom processor for new Mac systems, and it uses the ARM architecture instead of the traditional x86 architecture. That essentially breaks all software that was compiled for x86 unless it's run through Rosetta, which seems to be a translation layer to run x86 software on the ARM chip. (Or at least that's my understanding as a Windows users.)
Ok, I remember Strobe mentioning it was a processor, but I hadn't connected the dots that it's a new part so it's only on newer systems
(SMAPI 3.13.0 and Stardew Valley 1.5.5 use more modern frameworks that I think will run on M1 natively without needing Rosetta, which is why updating seems to fix issues for affected macOS players.)

you can use moddrop still but the mod manager in particular is probably causing problems - the nexus mods mod manager also causes prbolems with stardew
specifically it seems like moddrop mod manager has been having version issues, and vortex (the nexus mod manager) continues to eat manifests and sometimes fail to uninstall mods correctly

"An error occurred in the base update loop: ArgumentException: An item with the same key has already been added. Key: 0" is the first line.
Sounds like you've got two mods adding an item with the same name.
All you have to do is disable one.
Given this is the oven, should I look at recipes specifically?

Also, usually looking at the log as a whole will give you more clues what's being duplicated.
But probably you can just look at your mod list and see what adds stuff and what doesn't to start ruling out suspects.

Yeah, it's like a four hour long log. But if it's about duplicate items then Pizza time throws that error a few times.
So disable that and see if your probelms go away. 🙂

I think it's because I took mods like Chocolatier/Sweet Tooth and updated their dependencies from the JA to the DGA versions of PPJA, but I'm just smart enough to figure out how to do that.

Forgot I had seasonal outfits installed, which naturally overwrites the portraits as well
I also noticed that an other mod I got is not working
It's one that gives Leah 2 outfit options to choose from every day, a normal one and a special one
Seeing that one and seasonal both do the same only one is daily and the other seasonal, it makes sense that I have not seen Leah use this second option yet
Now I need to figure out however how to fix it...
For the xnb it is easy, just mix the assets
But how do I mix the Leah mod to work together with seasonal outfits??
Any ideas or should I ask this in mod making (due to its programming nature)

It's fixed in the upcoming SMAPI 3.13.0-beta and Stardew Valley 1.5.5-beta. It won't be fixed for the SMAPI 3.12.x branch though, since it seems to be an issue with the underlying game framework.
(You should still be able to run SMAPI 3.12.x on Mac M1 if you run it through Rosetta though.)
Has anyone had any trouble getting PPJA - DGA recipes?
I get the mail, and they say they give me a recipe or an item, but nothing in PPJA - DGA actually seems to give me anything... just the letter.
DGA items afaik can’t be sent in the mail
Recipes could in theory be activated with a mail flag but I don’t know if that’s been implemented in PPJA

i see an error in npc map locations and not much else
but ive played with some of these mods before, and the fact is they're not there (billboards anywhere, wear more rings, etc)

Just tried with another version of seasonal, and without it. Without, it show the one i want. With, even if I deleted it all before starting the game with the mod for its first run, it does the green wizard

What's the issue?
Since the config doesn't allow toggling who we want or not to use, it was said that we just had to delete the folders and files about the villager we didn't want to use another portrait mod
But we tried it and it somehow without the files still show the seasonal one
You could also edit the code block that applies the changes
Reinstall the full version again
the mod page said to filter everything with a certain npc's name in it in the mod and delete that
And then open up the content.json
to allow the other mods to change the npc

And then check the manifest version
If the Nexus version is higher, and you're 100% sure you updated it, then edit the manifest version

i've updated farmer to florist , this version switched to using dynamic game assets mod instead of json assets mod , i've installed dynamic game assets as well as the latest version of farmer to florist but farmer to florist now doesn't appear in my game , even when looking up items with CJBitemspawner , none of the stuff from ftf is there , i'm not getting any error messages and the mod says its compatible with other json assets mods , im not sure why nothing is showing up with DGA , anyone know anything about this ?

ive restarted this playthrough so many times luckily my mod settings arent linked to the game save but my normal game settings are
so every time i start the run again i have to change my zoom and ui zoom and all that back to the minimum lol

but the images/description of the mod is a bit lacking overall

maybe a silly question but i can use both the cp and the cf version of a furniture mod together right :p i dont alway see some furniture in my catalogue but i also am too lazy to then replace the items in my house that would be vanilla if i uninstalled the cp version

Looks like you have to edit the Sprites yourself to remove the beard etc

Ive considered writing it but a. Too many projects and b. I think youd need smapi coding to give yourself more responsibilities and goals.
So I basically just do the things a Mayor does like improve roads and lighting but let Lewis still wear the Mayor hat in public.

You cant use many new mods on mobile. Most need to be pre 1.5 version.
