Sometimes the manifest.json is out of date, so check the page where you downloaded against that file.
Authors often forget to update those.

i just moved my smapi from the vortex folder to the original stardew mods folder...
So apparently having Ridgeside Village and East Scarp is 20mb less than having just Stardew Expanded
(and they take less time to load!)

I moved away from Vortex when I switched to the unofficial 64-bit Stardew cause I don't think Vortex would recognize it. I could be wrong though. But I since the switch, I found shortcuts to get to my mod folder a lot easier
Yeah, I thought it was pretty easy for Stardew. And I like that I can get to all the config files from one spot.

for example, i can tell people that i have 3 profiles, one for mod testing, one for SVE, and one for Non-SVE and people are gonna be like "just make a new folder for those mods and put them in mods folder when you need them" or use the smapi disable mod feature but i'm out here like, MO2 supremacy

but it's for personal choice for a lot of people, i've heard some modders here use manual cuz they think it's easier, in my case, i make extra mod folders in my desktop, i alter those folders and then just install them in MO2 with an alternate title to avoid confusion, so like, to each their own
If you get stuck, you can always ask questions. It's a bit of a learning curve, but once you understand it, it's easy.

and by manually it usually means this "install mod" button XD
except for mods that aren't mods but just files that overwrite existing mods (cough, some portrait mods, cough)
I do something similar. I have a set download folder that contains all my mods, then separate mod folder for profiles. All set in a folder on the same level as Program
That's what I meant. Like skins for Adopt a skin have to be manually added to the folder or some retextures.

yeah it's pretty easy, once you know what everything is, you're just gonna be using the "download with manager" feature from nexus pretty much everytime

Something that they might not teach you is how to create separators. I use them a lot, kinda like making groups. Right click an area with nothing in it and click create seperator. Then name it.
except when MO2 Downloads just break and don't download at all and then you gotta restart the app, and install the mod manually

Check settings and see where the download folder is directed to.
install them all again with Mo2's "install mod" or "install with manager", or at least that's what i had to do with all my 80 or so mods
otherwise you're gonna have to make a new folder for every single mod, an then put the mod folder inside that new folder and then do that for every single mod

if you want a lazy fix that won't use most features (like link to nexus, endorsement and other stuff), you could just make a new folder, name whatever you want and the throw all your mod folders inside it and then active it
and then MO2 will load all of them as a single mod

Right, I could never use it that way, but it's clever for a fast start up
what i did for my 80 or so mods, was just move them to a folder where i could see them, i went down the list and would install it on MO2 and then delete it from the folder, so i would know which ones i still need to install
it was kind of annoying for mods that literally have 5 folders like stardew expanded

My main thing if you will is working on Minecraft mods, I do documentation for them, and uh let me tell you, I've gotten to a point where someone can say 3 words completely unrelated to optifine about a bug, and I know exactly that they have it. It's that bad

Are you trying to install SMAPI for game version 1.5.4 or for the beta? Have you confirmed the version of SMAPI you're trying to use? You just mentioned Android, Android has a custom version of SMAPI

Tael, if you're able to narrow down the cause of the errors, i.e. is it a conflict with another the mod or if it happens even with only Adopt & Skin installed, you could get that new log and post it as a bug report on the mod! It's still actively supported, so if there's an issue, the mod author would likely want to know :)

My point was if you're able to narrow it down to either a specific conflict with another mod, or if it happens with only Adopt & Skin installed, the mod author could try to fix it. Considering you have lots of other mods installed, the log as is might not be too helpful to the mod author since there's a lot of mods to narrow down as potential conflicts.
But definitely update first 😄

I don’t think so… why do you want to do that?
You can type debug hu 1 in the SMAPI console to get the first farmhouse upgrade, for example. Just be careful you don't go all the way back to the original farmhouse if you're married, since that version doesn't support spouse rooms.
i'm trying to play multiplayer, but when i join, time passes for the host but for me it stays still. I can't pick up items or open chests, etc.

It would be nice if it were more of a standard for content modders to have vanilla music fallbacks to make the music packs optional... just dynamic token with trackname resolve, even

nah, it just means it loads it more dynamically
which does cause small hangups when the music is loaded, especially with ogg files that custom music apparently converts to wav before use. not preloading custom ids also seems to make the game crash when you try to play them with the jukebox
does anyone know where to get the east scarp beta or how to fix the reimagined 2 to work with, the game is trying to load "spring_daisyextras.png" as a tilesheet but idk what would be the replacement for that

the installer is missing a file - was the installer .bat removed from the zip alone instead of with the associated folder?
there's no problems there, Smapi is skipping them, as it should, cuz i don't wanna have too many different configs for things or want to organize them, all those mods are disabled in this list so it causes no issues
The easy way to disable a mod is to put a . in front of the folder name.
(Generally people that use mod managers are specifically trying to avoid manually dealing with folders, hehe)

(I just have a single .disabled folder and move them in and out of that, vs disabling them individually, although batch rename makes that not a big deal either. Still, it is less visually clutterful 😄 )

(Belatedly searching, it looks like they had already asked Lemur about this and she replied saying to get the version of ES on her server as it was a small fix, so that would also have been useful context :P )

I would have assumed Reimagined given the maps it edits and when it was made. It may or may not be a problem depending on how they've been reodered and which map it is though, so it's more of a "check this first".
(I have also not personally known a reorder/rename to cause a crash ever, except in the case of the farm in 1.5+, which SMAPI completely disallows from loading under that circumstances. It's definitely a better practice to leave them in the same order, but people did this for years without much issue beyond glitchy farmhouse stairs/beds and other difficult to diagnose issues, heh, so don't be too mean to them if/when you report :P)

(Those aren't errors, they're warnings about a practice that could conceivably cause errors. So it hasn't actually caused anything yet.)

Legit 1 button to sync your mod to friends and easier to manage multiple mod profile, it doesn't fuck up your files and the app doesn't keep asking you to login

Thunderstore let you manage it 2 way, copy a profile ID code instead of your entire folder
so i'd have like 4 different setup for playing w/ different people and there is a way to only zip files from 1 profile

there are some MMORPG servers in Valheim where they upload a folder of mod and run a dedicated server w/ seed code that everyone can join through
stardew doesnt have that kind of multiplayer

Does anyone know if there are any blatant issues with removing any of the content packs from the PPJA Collection for Artisan Valley?
I want to be able to use the new machines, but I'm super wanting the Fresh Meat content pack. Other than just not having a use for the meat-specific machines, are there any issues? SMAPI doesn't throw any fatal errors when running without Fresh Meat, just a couple warnings. Just curious if anyone else has more insight on how dependent Artisan Valley is on having all the content packs installed I guess. Any and all help is much appreciated slight_smile

SVE's discord is no help in this, but does anyone have any experience or knowledge about SVE spouse rooms causing potential issues in multiplayer? The host is married to Sophia, some days I can load the new day perfectly fine, other times, my game completely freezes up for multiple minutes on end. Both times it gets stuck on loading Sophia's spouseroom, it never gets stuck on anything else ( I've had issues before where I froze loading into a new day and had errors, so whenever it takes too long, I open Smapi and check to see if there's any errors or not. There's not, it's just always Sophia's spouseroom that it's frozen on )
how are you determining that it's the spouse room causing it? but i wonder if it would cause problems to simply disable the spouseroom load in the tmxl portion of SVE (if it's still there)
That's the room it's trying to load in Smapi's log anytime it freezes up
but i'm not sure it's necessarily the spouse room it's getting stuck on, because i don't think smapi prints anything after it has loaded the spouseroom, and i'm not sure when the "loading" message happens even. but anyway, if custom npcs don't necessarily need a custom spouseroom, you could try removing the spouse room load from the mod to test it at least
(and also not everything is printed to the smapi console, the actual log could have more information about what's happening)
Does anyone got any suggestions on dealing with game hanging, i thought at first that it was either Dynamic Night Time or Ambient Light, but seem that i can't run SVE or East Scarp + Ridgeside Village without eventually running into daily hangs every time the time changes
i'm guessing the usual would involve changing my resolution, game priority, zoom and whatnot
as in, literally every time the in-game time changes?
not every minute, but usually on significant time changes, like from morning to noon
and a lot when it comes night time
and it drops to like 5 fps but smapi doesn't tell me anything
vsync doesn't change it either
well, could be several mods doing something on time changes, but SVE does some time dependent edits at least (for the shadows if you have them enabled, and for some other stuff)
i'm guessing it's memory problems but i though 1.5.5 would help, game runs at like 2.5gb always, and i also only got 512 vram so idk if that'd affect performance on this
my guess is too many npc schedules and the game gotta hang to load them all
i don't think that's it, they probably aren't patched that way by any mod. what tends to cause hangups is patching various game assets, how bad it can get is dependent on your cpu mostly i'd guess, and how many mods you have doing it (because one mod editing something can cause a chain reaction of other mods doing their edits too)
i got like a 102 mods lol, so yeah, lots of patching i guess
but that gives me an idea that some of the girl mods i got might be patching each other and causing hangs
if you upload the log just after the hangup happens you could see what is happening

assuming you keep the game paused there probably isn't much else printed to the log so it's easier to figure out

there's not a whole lot of way around it, other than not preloading it
which means it will hang when it tries to load it instead

one of the things that threw me off of SVE is that apparently there's a wine for 20K + that literally give u +7 luck

for fish the best mod is "more new fish". animals are a bit problematic maybe because the framework that is used for them isn't really maintained except "unofficially"
also SVE adds the requirement of you having to double check every other mod to see if they are compatible with SVE and if they aren't u either gotta ditch SVE or not use those mods

if you use the tutorials on how to make a map, you can pretty much use tiled to edit a vanilla farm or a modded one, and create your own farm with multiple sections (or not)

so the only common denominator on all hangs is that Anti-Social NPCs overrides a bunch of characters

i timed every single hang
and at 2:00 a hang happend, at 2:03, and at 2:05, and then right before i closed the game
If it helps my game mostly hangs when loading the JA stuff.
which was when hangs were getting bad so i quit the game to see if i'd get a log of what was causing it
Itll sit on the screen for ages then suddenly take off. But my entire load time is about 5 minutes.
Which is faster than most (good laptop!)
the only common thing across all hangs i could notice was that Farm Type manager would spawn a bunch of items and then antisocial NPCS would override a bunch of npcs
which if it happens every menu open, i didn't open my menu much
how long did the hangups last?
a few seconds each, probably like 3-5s, last one lasted quite a bit, as i said, the game hangs quite a lot at night time
does it hang the same amount of time when you open the menu? if it does, then i guess it could be antisocial npcs

If u compare the mod images, seems that Immersive farm 2 is considerable bigger, cuz the farmhouse stay the same size, but Immersive farm has more space to the right

you could disable the farm type manager content packs temporarily by prefixing the mod folder names with a . to see if it helps (if other mods don't have dependencies on the farm type manager mods it shouldn't be a problem)

i also did not open the menu after checking my zoom settings after loading the game

the problem is that literally every content mod uses FTM at this point
did you try disabling the content packs for FTM? you only have two and the mods that they come from don't necessarily have them set as dependencies so it might be fine to disable them to test it
you have SVE, East Scarp, and Ridgeside, right?

the log mentions it, but it's cuz it's disabled and the folder just has a config that gets skipped
So yeah i gotta go to bed, if anyone got any ideas on what's causing the hangs ping me and I'll check it when I wake up, but i think it's everything FTM cuz it seems to spawn forgeables on a literal minute basis and if my farm is bigger the hang is longer, but if the farm is vanilla the hang turns into a slowdown and if there's multiples spawns at once it still hangs

}``` i think it's this patch in the content.json of the `[CP] Boarding House` folder, so either commenting that out or just deleting/renaming the FromFile file should prevent it from happening (and probably without any problems except visual)
Is there a mod that will let you create reminders, you know like maybe one one the side saying GO FEED YOUR ANIMALS and then you can put a tick on it once you've done it for the day so you don't constantly doubt yourself. Then it'll reset the green tick so u know to do it

why does Reimagined2 BusStop map appear to have a path leading up off the bus stop? It only goes to the void. 15 -1 and 16 -1 - nothing in Map Properties

this mod on its own doesnt add hair to your game, its basically a framework of some sort so you need to add the hair yourself

Go to your desktop > right-click > select Nvidia Control Panel > select in the top left tree the 2nd option > select StardewModdingAPI.exe and if it's on integrated graphics card, set it to Nvidia Graphics card. > Repeat this also for Stardew Valley.exe

Hi I was attempting to migrate to the stardew and SMAPI betas as I ran into a OutOfMemoryException error while I was playing the game. I managed to install the beta just fine but whilst attempting to install the SMAPI beta the installer would just keep disappearing. I then ran it in administrator mode and it stayed up displaying: "Oops! SMAPI can't find its 'internal\windows\SMAPI.Installer.dll' file. Your antivirus might have deleted the file." Press any key to continue . . .
But when I look into the file it does seem to have all the required files? Just in case I redownloaded the SMAPI beta with my antivirus off and it still is throwing up the same text. Unsure what to do from here, should I just stick to the standard SMAPI if the beta isn't stable or am I doing something wrong?

Did you use the windows installer in 2 directories before that one?

It shouldn't matter anymore, but you could try moving it to another directory and see
:O it worked from the desktop, I ran the original from the sdv folder so I thought it would work the same but yep that was the issue

but i also have windows firewall or whatever it is disabled
so that could be it?

I think for me it's just being OCD and wanting everything to look good together and, most importantly, be consistent.
I once used 2 Mods, CBJ cheat menu and CBJ item spawner.

I spent all yesterday trying to switch my game over to the 64bit mode.... I don't mind fiddling with mods and trying to get a compatible lineup, but this is nuts. .. still, reading the writing on the wall here & it looks like that is the way the game is going
What broke? I was shocked yesterday when I swapped over, I updated one mod to the beta version (SVE), updated SMAPI, set the Steam Beta, and then everything worked perfectly except Love of Cooking.
Well... the list kind of gets long... I was running 425 mods in 32 bit and a very large part of them did not play nice in 64 bit... then I had many, many rounds of trying to update those mods which led to heap big hassles getting the "right" updates (ppja and adopt & skin biggest headaches)

well... seriously, look at your log and try to identify which mods are the true troublemakers. Sometimes one mod will fail & it will cause a cascade among others
Maybe post a !log and we can try to narrow it down?

It shows 1.5.4
So you can know what causes a bug
And read posts on mod if you have time to know if they are known to cause error

Hi everyone! I have asked about this already but this channel is always so busy, lol. I am wondering how some of my children are listed with Krobus as the parent even though I had them with my spouse?
I have the Multiple Spouses mod and I know it can get confused with kids, but the usual fix of giving a bouquet to mark who my “official spouse” is doesn’t seem to be working. I even configured the mod to keep Krobus platonic before I had more than one baby.
the beta isn't recommended for normal users yet, currently recommended for modders to test their mods (though there's nothing wrong with using it, just some mods aren't compatible)

@river rapids sorry for the ping. I can't seem to get Adopt & Skin to work for my dog (this is the pet that I got from Marnie). I have no other animal reskin mods, I made sure the file names are correct, SMAPI allows me to use the commands for A&S, says they work, but when I look at my dog, it has a vanilla skin (the skins I'm using are Elle's dog skins but I put them in A&S /assets/skins folder. I am not using the Multiplayer version of the mod, nor am I running SDV beta. All my mods are up to date as well. I'm a pretty experienced mod user but am baffled as to why I can't get this to work 😅

hey I actually have a questin, I recently tired moddding my stardew copy and wanted to upgarde to the 64 bit version (I may have gone a bit overboard and have been having freezing problems) but the installer isnt workig for the 64 bit. is there any way to remove 32 and reinstall?

no i want to use the 64 bit version of the modded game, its a stable beta, and will run better in theory, I just am having trouble with it not working

k but make sure you check if theres mods required for it and make sure you get the correct version that syncs up with it if u get any errors the cmd prompt that opens when you launch the game will show you errors
