yess, although I didn't realise they were there at first so I was looking at Pierres to buy some seeds

Oh, SVE has a config now to turn off the custom Joja shops it added.
Joja Seeds (and any other mod using the Joja shop) won't work with SVE in its default state.
Because Flash did a special version of the shop in TMX to lower prices and later add a couple items.
If you use the new config, you can still get lower prices via a different mod that's been around for quite a while.
It's why the blackmarket exists in the first place; to get around compatibility issues π
Though the seeds won't be as cheap as if you were a joja member buying from jojamart, so the profitability is lower.

Does it specify in the mod description or the file description? I know some mods specifically call out if they work in 1.5.5 beta but not all of them probably say so

you probably updated to the beta versions of the mods, without updating to the beta versions of stardew valley & smapi
oh, and SVExpandio is broken and is missing its content.json file

I decided to put SVE and PPJA by themselves on my mobile to start with a fresh new save
and the most recent pre-Dec 20 2020 Generic Mod Config Menu?
there's...some kind of error involving both of those, and also SMAPI, and then that seems to be causing SVE to fail to load properly and then everything snowballs into the land of "one error every frame"
custom music 1.8.0 and GMCM 1.2.0 are from August 2020 and the next versions of both are in 2021
and i remember that there was A Mess back in 1.4 where Custom Music and GMCM had some kind of conflict involving harmony-patching SMAPI, and they were updating to try to fix it, but both of them were updating without coordinating with each other so there were like five versions in two days

it's probably fine. generic mod config menu isn't necessary because you can edit the config files of the mods manually, so i would remove it if you can't make it work otherwise

I don't think there's an overarching mod for colorblindness in general, if you have specific problems with specific parts of the interface that's something you can change in bits and pieces but there's no Big Package

I think this error is caused by something I'm pressing or doing, because it starts working normally, and after some indefinite time the camera stops working.

alright, I'm at a loss. every night my game will go through all the skill levels I've obtained since starting this save. I thought it was allprofessions, the error still continued after deleted it. thought it was spacecore, because every night spacecore is doing skill menus, and tried downgrading to a previous version of spacecore, which fixed the problem till I leveled up in mining and then all the level up notifications started again. deleted spacecore, the error still continued. I've had no crashes, it is just really annoying.
Wingheart's already recommended it, but I'd also recommend Diverse Stardew Valley! π It has multiple seasonal outfits for each character that change to match the weather plus outfits for every festival (Slightly Cuter Aesthetic only has one per season and only the Flower Dance and Spirits Eve), plus it has other neat features like pyjamas, swimwear, and your spouse will wear the mermaid pendant on their portraits.

Also you can configure each character separately to use the vanilla character design, one of the diversity edit design, or turned off completely for compatibility with other mods π

Most of the outfits between Seasonal Villager Outfits and Diverse Stardew Valley are the same because they were created by the DSV team and shared with SVO (ParadigmNomad was the coder for SVO, but the art was made by various people), plus DSV includes all the same features as SVO and can be used as a complete replacement if you set all the characters to 'vanilla' in the config options π

Alright! We're perfectly fine without any strays, even if that means I'll never get a pet as my own as a farmhand, we just terribly miss being able to have different skins for all of our animals
I've amassed a collection of skins that is.. very large, it's a shame I can't use it right now!
I literally have like.. 200-300 cats and 200-300 dog skins
Everything but pet spread is working right now it seems, so I'll chunk in that and it should be up on Nexus within the hour π

I see, but will it still sync to my existing file? Currently i'm only using one existing save file, and I've made progress to it with mods. I'm playing that existing file on both laptop and pc, but usually I'm playing it on my laptop. Currently only my laptop contains mods, and soon I want to copy its mods to my PC, but it's worrying me that it might corrupt my existing file if I do that cuz my laptop already have made progress in my existing save file with mod. I wonder what would happen to my existing save file if I play it on my pc without or with mods... I've already backed up my existing save file in case something goes wrong if I copy my mods and paste it to my PC

Hello everyone. Looking for some help regarding running mods on Linux. I installed SMAPI and NPCMapLocations a few days ago to test it out and it worked great and was generally awesome. So today I was throwing a few more mods into them and when SMAPI tries to load up Automate it says that it doesn't have access to it's .json file. I've tried various different permissions and ownerships for the file and it still has the same error it throws out. Is there a rule of thumb for what permissions and who the owner of these mod directories should be?
[Automate] Mod crashed on entry and might not work correctly. Technical details: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path "/home/nezmet/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Stardew Valley/Mods/Automate/config.json" is denied.

also you say "deployed" which is vortex terminology and vortex has some issues with stardew - the worst i've seen was someone recently had about 40 of their 58 mods having their manifests deleted by vortex, meaning that only 18 mods loaded
I'm still very new to modding and I've found that it's the easiest way for me to do things. I'll probably change over to just using files soon
your wizard mod seems to have a typo in it
it's looking for a Wizard.xnb in its own folders, but it's not there; either vortex ate it, or it's supposed to look for Wizard.png instead
so, what do I do? I just uninstalled and reinstalled the rr mod
you installed an RR version that needs SVE as well
so either get a non-SVE version, or get SVE

is there any sort of alternative program to vortex? all the file folders and also having to constantly look for and copy paste links for updates is super overstimulating to me
there's moddrop; however i'd recommend doing something like setting your system to dark mode and using parsed-log update links (where you just click them)
Manually modding isn't horrible with Stardew. Beyond times where everything is getting update, such as now, you won't have a ton of mods to update all at once. I personally freeze Smapi by clicking on it, taking a screenshot of my updates list if there's multiple, and search them one by one on Nexus. Makes it easier to update everything, at least for me
how does one do the update links? in the log it doesn't let me click on everything
Or you can parse your Smapi's log, and it'll create links for you to simply click on to go right to their Nexus page

iirc the lag threshold is a bit higher on the beta, and then since the beta is 64 bit it just doesn't get out of memory errors unless you're at 100% computer memory use

somewhat, stardew currently takes 2gb ingame of memory when i play which is insane considering i play fallout new vegas TTW with like 120 mods with 1/4 of that memory usage
You have to do something on Steam, and download the beta of Smapi for it, that's all I know currently

You don't have to worry about the beta! The update itself is apparently coming "sometime in fall", so you can wait until then when the game is ready to auto update

A tip I've learned from in here, is that if you're getting OOM issues often, sleep and restart the game every 2-4 days ( Depending on how many massive mods you have ) . If you start lagging more than usual during a day, chances are it's getting close to that limit, so it's a safe bet to finish that day as fast as you can, sleep and restart

@tired brook @royal fractal I don't know if the problem is with Hybrid Crop Engine or Vanilla Hybrid Crops, but there's a bug that you can harvest infinite crops from one plant
a couple things to note, if u launch smapi from Mod Organizer 2, steam will detect achievements just fine, and all your config files will end up in the Overwrite folder, its a folder that contains all files generated in-game so if u ever need to change a config just go into the overwrite folder, and then the mod folder and then it's config will be inside
(also ima call it MO2 from now on cuz it's a textful to write)

its default configuration lets you build up to 7 cabins for a maximum of 8 players
(you have to build cabins 4-7, you cannot start with them by default)

Just click whichever operating system you use, either Linux Mac or Windows and then follow the instructions for it
For unlimited players from what i can tell you need the beta, so after you install SMAPI just go to your steam library, Right click Stardew Valley, select properties, then betas, and then select monogame64 from the dropdown which will then prompt an update for your game (idk if you'll need to reinstall smapi after this tbh XD)

and then for installing Unlimited Players itself you can use the same guide there (Getting Started) which has a "Install Mods" section

you can either launch the vanilla executable instead of the smapi one, or use a mod group with an empty mods folder https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Player_Guide/Getting_Started#Can_I_have_different_mod_groups.3F
(it's also possible by renaming the Mods folder temporarily so that smapi doesn't find it and launching smapi, but that's unnecessary work i think)

ModDrop's client is supposedly decent, though that's possibly just because not enough people use it to encounter bugs π€·ββοΈ Manual installation isn't hard for Stardew though, and as long as you're not using xnb mods (which are outdated and disliked by the majority of the English-speaking Stardew mod community anyway), then you can add or remove most mods as you like

Hey guys, some of my mods stopped working due to needing 3.12.6 ver of SMAPI, but when i download the new version it installs 3.12.2, even though the downloaded file is for 3.12.6...Any clues?
okay so this is going to sound very silly but are you sure you don't have a 3.12.2 installer that you're running by mistake instead of the 3.12.6 that you just dwonloaded?

If anyone tried it and it does, we might stick to one version (can't test rn because they are asleep)
I guess we also talked about doing it in a way where we alternate between language used for mods, so we can have 3-4 and each area people just speak a different language.
Although we think it should work fine for mods that use the original mod as requirement, and just change the text file

Hi all! I'm having a couple issues I was hoping to get some help with... Here's the log with them:

First, I'm noticing that my PPJA packs that are loaded with DGA are not recognized by any of the mods that are still JA and require them. I read DGA Nexus page but have found no reference to this being a known issue. Is it though, and should I just change back to JA for the time being?
Also, DGA asks for an update, but the 1.0.0 in Nexus is only the "example pack", current version is still "-alpha-001" (I guess that's just a manifest thing?)
And last, Island and Greenhouse Gatherers are giving me an issue with Expanded Storage, but I honestly can't understand what it wants me to do. I have Expanded Storage, and the Gatherers folders do have the file for XS as well, so I'm pretty lost on what I'm missing.
All help is appreciated! 
Were those mods that are JA that require JA versions of PPJA updated to reference the DGA versions? If not I think you answered your own question there about needing the JA version
hi i am having issues getting SVE to work i have every mod required but the custom music mod refuses to load which in the end prevents SVE from launching

Ye I'd wait until the mod authors update their mods because I also don't think it's as simple as just updating the reference in the manifest.json, but I could be wrong.
Also, if your Island and Greenhouse Gatherers issues with Expanded Storage aren't resolved by reinstalling those mods, chances are the mod author(s) need to get involved to see how to fix.

Gatherers does say it's compatible with Expanded Storage and has the files for it.. But since XS has already moved to DGA, talking to you now I'm thinking it could be related to that. I'll fix PPJA for a cleaner log, and drop a comment in the gatherers' nexus page (I don't know if they are around here in the server)

Make sure you run the vanilla game through the Steam client at least once after updating to the beta. The game needs to install its new dependencies (which are also the dependencies for SMAPI and its installer).
You might have a previous version of SMAPI installed, uninstalled that then install 3.13.0
(I need to figure out how to check for .NET 5 in the installer, and keep the window open if it fails.)

anyone know what could be causing my game to notify me every night of every skill level up I've gotten since starting this save? nothing shows up in my logs to say there is any error and I've been trying to fix this issue for a couple of days. the only things I can think of that mess with skills are spacecore and allprofessions, and I've run the game with both of those deleted and still get the notifications every night.

From a quick search in this chat, someone did suggest it was SpaceCore doing it. Can you back up your save, remove SpaceCore and anything that requires it, and then try saving twice? I'm curious to see if it's stuck happening "today" but may not happen the next day

i've had that happen on linux because some of the colors the terminal used were too dark to be visible on the console. if it's that they can be adjusted in smapi-internal/config.json (but Pathoschild might be interested to see it, considering it's windows)

Depends on what you mean by more fun. Part of the Community on nexus lets you gain friendship by talking to people around other people
So it's not as much of a grind
Folks have put their versions of the config in comments because they thought it was a tad OP
Dialog mods and event mods can help make talking to people more interesting and varied
Mobile Phone on nexus also makes it easier to talk to people since you can call them, and there's a chance they call you! It's highly configurable so you can change a lot of the variables
when stardew starts up it sometimes gets stuck for a while, is there any way of telling what mod is causing it?

dont think that would help since it just takes time to load doesnt actually change what is said, so it opens normally but then stops for a while and then resumes

the way that you know what it is without even knowing what mods I have haha probuably it seems to be during custom music loading... that would make sense
Custom music is a killer when it comes to load times, but there are a few ways to help get around it

In custom music's config, change the convert to true. Then go into SVE's folder, into it's CM folder, and turn all of it's music tracks to false with preloading
Now, the first time you change the config to true for converting, it will take a bit extra time, but after that, it should be faster
'Cause it has to convert all the files into a different file type, but once it does that, it's smoother sailing the next time you start the game up

I can not play this game without it after trying it out
Never thought just seeing some fish in the water made such a difference on the rivers and other spots of the game

Hey so i am in need of help with my mods, whenever i boot up the game half of them don't work because of an issue. - Custom NPC Fixes 1.2.3 because its DLL has no 'Mod' subclass. this is just what one of them said. Does this happen because i am on a mac?
Do you use SVE? If so, it comes bundled with SVE and you shouldn't use the standalone

Find a recolor you like on Nexus, Moddrop, etc, extract it like any other mod, make sure you have Content Patcher mod, and place the recolor into your mods folder

Since those mods replace the building and shipping bin in the regular farm, I wonder if there's a simple way to just add to the target to include the beach house and shipping bin? But this is #making-mods-general territory
The first 2 errors under Skipped mods are your issue. You need to make sure you're using Custom NPC Fixes and Custom NPC Exclusions for game version 1.5.4 and not the beta (1.5.5).
Check mod descriptions and file descriptions to make sure you have the right one

Well I know the best pokemon mod for Minecraft was shut down for years despite it never being monetized
It was allowed to come back at some point, but yeah, for a long while they shut it down completely
I don't know if it ever was on Nexus, but I know it had it's own website and was hosted on CurseForge as well. But it is a lesson to be careful and try to keep everything on the low, just in case

so it could likely be SVE and Vibrant Pastoral
