Hi! I'd be really thankful if someone could help me, I've just yesterday tried updating my mods and ever since I did so my game has started crashing after just a few minutes of playtime. None of my 10 heart events work either all of a sudden and I have no clue as to why that could be

I started a new save recently after using Multiple Spouses mod on my original save. This new save I only have one spouse, and after moving the spouse in I can no longer access the side of the house beyond the spouse room. It is like it is cut off from the rest of the house. Anyone seen or heard this issue before?

Is there any way to help with custom music lag / load times? I've already did the convert thing, and while it did help a bit, it's still really really bad

Did you toggle off preloading? That's done on the individual pack for custom music

It doesn't affect anything negatively. Say you have a custom music pack for a particular NPC, for example. There will be a whatever.json file for it (not the manifest.json, the other one). Open the whatever.json using any text editor (Notepad or Notepad++ work, on Mac TextEditor works), and find "Preload", then make sure it's set to false
I take it back, the one drawback is you won't be able to listen to that song on the jukebox
I heard custom music was kinda busted for jukeboxes anyways. So it'd be safe to do that for Ridgeside and SVE? SVE being the really big heavy hitter for the load times. I just don't want to sacrifice in game performance for shaving off little bits of load time
Yes it's safe to do it, but I'm not sure if Ridgeside and SVE already set it to false
If they did, then the only options you have are to reduce the number of mods you have, switch to 64bit, or wait until the 1.5.5 update which will make the game 64bit for everyone

Does anybody know if there is a mod that allows you to have a spouse AND have Krobus as a roommate? I’ve looked at Multiple Spouses but that changes a lot of things and I’m not sure it’s the mod for me.

Multiple Spouses is also highly configurable, but if the feature you're definitely not interested in is the multiple spouses part, that's fair lol

Well as long as you get the Android version of Smapi, you'll be fine
If you're using Android, get it's version. If you aren't, get the non beta version. Just don't get the beta version for either or, it's not meant for the general modders, only for the mod creators
use Zane York's "all in one handy dandy" installer download it from Git Hub ..... or check the wiki for link, or just goggle stardew valley android smapi version
Pretty sure Smapi on Nexus has the Android version just underneath the beta and PC version as an optional download. Pathos is really good about keeping Android versions of mods easy to find but still separate

The Android version of the game is quite a bit different from other ports and so needs a custom version of SMAPI. See https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Installing_SMAPI_on_Android for details on getting started.
is easy... get yourself a nice file handler (I use file explorer) then, while on your android device, go to either mod drop or Nexus for the mods... you have to get mods or versions thereof that were uploaded b4 nov 2020. Choose what you like and download it. Then use your file explorer to open mods in your mod folder @robust sleet

can you send your log? and when you exported stardew valley, did you make sure to include all of the folders that were in the zip?

So by changing the name of folder?
shortening the parent folder name could work, but you might as well move the folders that are inside it to the Mods folder
The weird part is that I'm not having that issue on my end.
With most Nexus mods, you don't have to "extract to folder" or whatever it's called, you can do just "extract here" and it'll be inside of it's own folder. Doesn't apply to all Nexus mods, but it does apply to most, and by doing that you greatly shorten the folder names as it takes into account all folders that the mods are within

No problem, those are the only errors that are popping up now. At this point I know that it has something to do with Seasonal Buildings and Seasonal Cute Portraits
I'm noticing that the error pops up when the game is trying to load the save file
several people have had that error over the past month or so, but none have solved it from what I can see
it's between Content Patcher and stardew64, not the specific CP mods
could it be something to do with the image files?
i mean with some specific formatting thing in them or something

I get the same error with my unofficial 64bit Smapi. Usually reloading the cp assets in game via Config fixes it.

Ok, I loaded up my save file on my laptop, and I didn't get the error that I noticed on my girlfriend's save file (on her laptop)
The cp assets not loading in 64bit?
I go into the options menu and click on the Mod button provided by general mod Config menu, and change the setting of the asset that's affected by the error ie if it's my elle's house I change it to a different look, save, change it back to the original, save and return to the game.
It's like CP just needs to load that asset again (which is also why the error tends to jump between assets). Having something that allows to reload the assets in game (just as it does at the start) would help with this I think.
there's a console command patch reload for that, I wonder if it also fixes it

Something definitely wrong with CP, I uninstalled and reinstalled Seasonal Cute Characters and more errors came up. I uninstalled CP and reinstalled it and trying again.

you also have these kind of problems Bangers Beans and Mash just added by Even More Recipes - Meat for JsonAssets, already added by Fresh Meat, so yes, i would remove and reinstall everything

i figured if i show hidden folders, i could search within the mods folder and mass delete any file that has ._ in front of it
holy shit there's tens of thousands of them
you seem to have a fair amount of merges of old versions of mods with their newer versions, meaning you have a lot of old components of mods that shouldn't exist @dire fractal
if they exist, might just be the parser's way of saying this file is broken
it would be difficult to fix them all individually
would make sense since i havent played in forever

those are not all of the problems, removing them won't solve the issue of merged versions
the only errors i have are duplicated items

SVE question, can Claire's 8-heart event not be triggered on the same day as the 6-heart event?
so this is what happens if you drop incompatible updates onto the folder without deleting old ones?
well more or less, what hapepned for me is i uninstalled steam for smth and when i reinstalled it i lost all my mods
so i had to put my old mod backup, aka outdated mods, so i had to update a bunch of mods, and also reinstall a ton bc a lot of them were empty folders
its a lot of finicking which causes compatibility issues and also merged and outdated mod issues
yeah, it's a bit of work, but seriously your game will be broken in many ways unless you do it

I can't remember, though I think SVE might have 'day passed' requirements between events for same character. You could try examining the triggers with Event Lookup, or ask on SVE's discord maybe.
I recall Ridgeside didn't have such checks, so you could get stuck watching a whole chain of events for 20min, don't remember that issue with SVE.
You know... I'm smart in some ways, but asking in the, you know, Discord made for the mod would probably help.

Not really complaining, but I was on my way to save and call it a night xD
to see the 8 heart event you need to have seen the 6 heart event, and the CP conditions cache only updates once a day [for that particular condition type]
so that limits it to next day unless you sneak in and tell CP to recalculate its conditions

Hi there my friend is trying to install a few mods I made and it isn't working. The weirdest part is it works for me as a Windows user but it does not work for her (Mac user) even though we are unzipping the same files and installing the same smapi.

System.DllNotFoundException: libMonoPosixHelper.dylib this i think might be fixed by executing the command ln -s /Library/Frameworks/Mono.framework/Versions/Current/lib/libMonoPosixHelper.dylib libMonoPosixHelper.dylib in the game folder (to create a link to the missing library, assuming the library exists in that location)

Hey y’all! Me and my sis play multiplayer SVE, all the same mods/ all are updated. There seems to be an issue where she doesn’t get the updates on Grandpas Farm regarding the Abandoned Shed. Is this a common issue, is there a fix? Haven’t seen any definitive answers when referring to Google

yeah, we've been playing multiplayer SV for over 200 hours with no issues until now. the other SVE stuff works fine, it's just the Abandoned Shed that is the issue

I've tried installing SVE and its saying- Failed: it requires mods which aren't installed (Platonymous.CustomMusic). I've gone over the installation steps and I did everything in order so not sure what I'm missing.

I did the command search for the helper tool. It will bring up a file location and I will highlight it, then select finder to bring me to location and that is what gives me. If I hand type libMonoPosixHelper.dylib in the file search I get no results. I swear I downloaded mono too.
did you run the mono installer after you downloaded it? 🙂
if so... go to finder, from the menu choose Go > Go to folder, and paste /Library/Frameworks/Mono.framework
She's telling me on call that when you open it it runs it like an extension 🤔
mono installer is a wizard, don't go past this step until it's successfully installed

it's for beta Stardew which you probably should not use unless you're planning on updating and/or testing C# code mods

i see some outdated mods there, you'll probably want to update those - especially that BFAV update linked in the Suggested Fixes section, as the version you have installed right now doesn't even load in 1.5

Would snow graphics from a recolor cause insane lag while going outside of a building? Because I'm getting insane freezing lag while trying to leave buildings, and it's only done this one day of fall when there were leafs everywhere, and every day of winter so far
that probably happens because some assets are being patched to look different when you are inside or outside (if lag means delay when switching between the locations)
I would be inclined to trash the whole SDV install and redownload from steam
Heavy heavy delay, as in it freezes the game and goes into not responding
When it wasn't doing that before in spring, summer, or 27 days of fall
if there is a heavy chain reaction of patches going on it could take some time. in any case a log might show something
I can force it to start thinking by making the not responding worse ( And getting the popup asking if I want to wait or close it, I hit wait and a second or two later it unfreezes itself ) but it's really annoying since it's a multiplayer farm :T So time keeps going by
I've already restarted my game after removing my recolor ( I have it because the heavy saturation and bright colors of vanilla cause me bad eye strain.. ) , if it continues, I'll post it. If it fixes it, I'll wait until the multiplayer session is over and put it back in to get a log with it

interestingly all the stuff that's in that folder seems to be made by smapi

It can, yes. Instead of the smiley face and hug we normally get, I’m kissing him on the cheek and he leans into it. SUPER ADORABLE, but not what I want right now, lol
haha oh no! so you're trying to turn off MS's custom kissing effect, right?
the easiest way is to install Generic Mod Config Menu and then when you launch the game, there will be a button on the lower left of the menu screen, and you click that and a thing comes up where you can select the mod you want to configure, and it's pretty straightforward from there
to do it manually, you have to launch the game with the mod installed at least once first

okay looks like i'm gonna have to launch the game with it installed to check, but as far as i remember there should be an option there like "custom kissing: true", i don't remember the exact name, and you just delete true and type false instead--but i'll double check
Also my farmer turned into a lady during that log. I think it's GG but I don't know for sure
oh and i skipped a step there. you launch the game once with the mod installed, then you go into the mod folder and a file called config.json will have appeared, that's what you edit
Walk through trellis gives me errors, but I've been using that since spring and it whines, but doesn't actually harm anything

as for whether you can customize it per character, i'm not sure, but if you disable MS's custom kissing it should just go back to normal, so krobus should be a hug and harvey a regular kiss (without the smooch noise)
oh! looks like you can just disable roommate romance instead. same deal, replace "true" with "false" in the config.json or do it through generic mod config menu

hmm that's something I never thought of before... I suppose that the winter changes are more extensive than other seasons, since all the buildings etc have major remakes?
probably because some mods (maybe flower valley) only patch things to look different outside/inside during winter
Hm. I'll try removing flower valley next then if this doesn't help it, then if I get desperate, I'll do my buildings. I noticed foliage redone was having issues in winter, so I thought it was the cause, but it didn't do anything after removing it
if you know some basics of content patcher you can also check the mods json files and see how they look and possibly disable the problematic patches
and they might even have config options to disable such things

I took the 64bit beta for a spin earlier today... of the 420 mods I was running, only 113 actually made it into the game...
mainly because some foundational mods haven't yet converted (ex. Expanded Preconditions, pytk, etc)
so while it may be "officially" a 64 bit game, it's a very different critter
Ferngill Weathers was not the cause.. Removing flower valley and Way Back PT for the winter.. Hopefully I can at least play the game now
I am not getting rid of my building recolors for the farm. I refuse, I love them too much, so hopefully this will do something for it
Today's beta update should improve that a bit, and the next SMAPI beta should hopefully fix most of the remaining broken mods.

yeah, you need to right click the folder and choose the option to extract the files

then you have to go to the unzipped folder and run the installer from there
after you extracted it, there should have been two folders, one zip folder and one regular

I'm using a farm map that was posted pre-1.5, so it included the shipping bin as a part of the map itself rather than an object, which results in flickering. Any fix for that?

I have GG, some CP clothes and some GG hair. I've tried using CP hair before, but it broke everything regarding the character creation

GG has a known issue turning female farmers to male, but I'm not sure about the opposite unfortunately

We both use GG hairstyles and the host uses accessories is why we haven't gotten rid of it. I could never get the hairstyles to work with CP, at all
I don't think CP can really.. handle hairs? Not like it can add accessories anyways, it just kinda.. replaces them but we don't want anything replaced. The accessories I could easily make into a JA mod for personal use for us, but I don't know about the hairs

I finally got too much mods for my poor little pc..so going to do a cleanup to help with the lag. Which type of mods contribute to the most lag? Locations? Custom Npcs? Events? More items? Icons changed?
custom music, extremely big content patcher mods, large new locations especially with monsters in it
yeah, if you dont care much for some of the custom music, you can replace those files with blank .wavs with the same name
can also turn off preload

Anyway, to be clear, disabling preloading does not disable the music it just keeps it from preloading, which iirc, is what causes the lag
So preloading is like it turns on the music everywhere all the time and turning off preloading just makes it load the music when you enter that map?
i don't think it causes it except if the game gets close to running out of memory because of it (it makes the game take longer to start though)
My ram is definitely holding on for dear life..lol
setting the Preload options to true makes the game store the music in memory always, otherwise it's only kept there after it's played once in the game

Did you update your graphics card? If you have nvidia, if you select SMAPI and then select nvidia GPU in nvidia control panel, after an update it resets back to internal GPU. So you manually have to switch back to Nvidia GPU

im using macos and have followed the guide in https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Player_Guide/Getting_Started#Game_folder
so far what i did was
- installed mono
- downloaded smapi
- double click install on mac.command
- downloaded the mod
- moved the mod to stardew valley folder
- launch the game but there isnt any change of the game
i downloaded the skull cavern elevator
did i miss something?
what do i need to do with smapi?

Can someone please help me? Here’s what happened.
I married Harvey and had a baby. I downloaded Multiple Spouses so I can also invite Krobus as a roommate because I can’t leave my friend in the sewers!
We live happily for a few days. Harvey asks if we want another baby. Sure, why not? Lol.
Then I walk into the saloon to deliver a lobster to Gus but Elliot’s 2-heart cutscene happens. I go home and now my baby is no longer human, but a shadow baby. “Oh gosh maybe it’s just the lighting?” I think to myself.
I wake up the next day, the baby is human again. I’m pretty sure my baby IS human but turning into a monster at night. What. 😂
I would like to fix this before the next baby arrives, lol.
Does anybody know if this is just something that happens NORMALLY when Krobus is taking care of your kids, or is this an error with the mod?

All I know about multiple spouse is your current "official" partner counts as the child's parent, meaning the one you gave bouquet the latest will decide what the children look like. (There should be a pendant icon next to the official partner on the social menu) MS has messed up mods that change children hairs per parent for me before because of that (since the children will follow the look of current official partner, no way to remember which parent it was born under). Potentially that could be what's affecting it
Oh, interesting! So would I just… give a bouquet to Harvey again to reassign him as official?

@vital spade are your aquarium overhaul and animated fish mods compatible? i like the aquarium features and the animated fish on signs and such and i want to make sure i can get what i want from both the mods without breaking anything in either one.

They are compatible, aquarium sprites and fish (item) sprites are 2 completely different things.

If you have the game on steam, you have the latest version which is 1.5.5 iirc
i just downloaded it minutes ago from steam

Hey guys, I’m sure this is a common issue but if figured I’d ask. I hope this is the right place. I get an out of memory exception running stardew valley after mods. It can’t be my pc as I have 16gb of ram. I thought I needed to upgrade to 64x but after reading online it seems like stardew is already 64x now? Any guidance anyone has is appreciated. I can post my error log later but I don’t have it now

As you like. Our mod would overwrite the rewards and you won't get a year one completion option. But if you use remixed, it will mix with vanilla bundles (which might be easier). If you want to use all from our mod, don't use remixed

yeah, basically you need to launch with the modding api - it should have been in the tutorial, or at least it tells you that when you install smapi

the "line" it complains about looks fine. the event is modified by SVE in the file [CP] Stardew Valley Expanded/content.json, you can find it by searching for the string "191393/Hn ccFishTank probably. there is a minor update to SVE that you're missing, it's possible that it's been fixed in that version (if it's a problem with SVE itself)

Anyone else seeing an update message for Ridgeside Village to update to 1.2.16 after installing that version? There was a Ridgeside Village 1.2.16 (which shows up-to-date) and a Ridgeside Village Smapi (which says needs update) both listed. Is this some kind of error in RSV file? They both list the exact same nexus mod address (7286)

then it seems that smapi isn't installed, so i suggest trying to reinstall it and document the steps you do to some degree so that it's easier to troubleshoot

right i opened, got a terminal window, and a new SDV logo but no game loaded. i still cant get the error log thing to work for some reason - i copy in the file location to search but still nothing. however im looking through the terminal window and this came up at the end:

Makeshift Multiplayer was abandoned when multiplayer was officially added but this mod removes some of the limits https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2213

Did you download the latest versions of those mods? Update Smapi, the recent updates for the mods require it, I'm pretty sure

i'm not trying to mod it but want to see how to access everything the vanilla game has

the stables should be drag and drop directly into your mods folder. the png, you drop it in the tractor mod folder > assets and let it overwrite

looks like they left but just fyi if someone says they can't use official multiplayer, that usually means they have a pirated copy
Are you using any kind of ad blocker or script blocker? That might be why
i was using an adblocker and i disabled it but it's the same
when you say access everything, do you just mean how to get every item in game? if so, you can either look up item IDs and use debug commands to spawn them, or use the mod CJB Item Spawner to get anything you like. many of the game files don't need to be decompiled, all the images and item data just needs to be unpacked
