Could it be conflicting with another dialogue mod?

OutOfMemoryException errors on Windows mean that your game ran out of memory. The game only has access to a small part of your computer's memory by default. There's an option to use a 64-bit patch, but it says Stardew is now 64-bit anyways.

I had to remove my wonderful Piano Valley, since it was OOM too often. I haven't had it since. 350+ mods, though.
I only have around 100 and I don't know which could be making issues since this is an uncommon occurrence.
There's a beta for 64-bit SDV which is only for modders atm to fix their mods for when it releases. You can still do the unofficial 64-bit patch or wait
Mine is super choppy on the 64 patch, so I'm just kinda hanging out for a while.

Iirc Get Glam gives you the option to change your gender. The version on Nexus is kinda outdated but it worked for me.

When I had that issue I had DSVO installed and I had to say goodbye to it. The laptop I had at that time was pure crap, DSVO was too much for it :/ The laptop I have now is not a gaming laptop because I couldn't afford it, but it can run stardew with the ton of mods I have and that's enough for me
Nowadays Smapi crashing for me is like having annoying customers at work, I'm mentally prepared for it, I'll curse and then try to find the issue with the log. If the issue is too big for my knowledge, then I ask for help

Hey all I have a question regarding dialogue mods. What order do they load in? Is it based on their order in your mods folder? Like alphabetical wise?
Since I have modpacks that give me different crops, would it make sense that selling a bunch of crops at once could give me the out of memory error?

if they overwrite the uhhhhh same line, then the last one loaded will show its lines
but dialogue mods dont really "conflict" in the same way some cp mods do, theyll just overwrite each other

I might be wrong, I really don't know what I'm looking at. I already took out the mods that are outdated, and took out ones I don't use/need. My memory for SDV is 1.3MB, and Discord takes up even less than that. Nothing else I have open is 32bit.

Are long loading times when all the mods are loading before the game opens and within the game itself typical for SMAPI users?
i always blame sve because it's such a memory hog on 32 bit so <3

i dont have a potato pc either but sve makes my game take around 2 minutes to load running with my graphics card

I might be confirmation bias but it seems to be almost everytime I ship a bunch of stuff all at once. I'm playing this save pretty slow so it doesn't happen too often, but it's always coincidentally after I do a lot.

Kind of meant "do a lot" as in "sell a lot" but w.e
memory issue is generally directly linked to how long you played that session, sdv leaks memory slowly as long as time is running

Well, sometimes it happens sometimes it doesn't. I've had this save for like 15 hours now and it's only happened twice. I don't play in small bursts or anything like that. I play all day or an hour or two after work.
I've had the game open for 20 minutes and it's already on 2.5MB 🤨

gb you mean I assume and yeah that's pretty normal, usually between 2.5-3 depending on how modded your client is

depot downloading is a low priority process for steam, you dont get particularly fast download speeds.

I only play with 115 so how this is happening to me I really don't know, I've modded before with a similar amount of mods if not the exact same ones and never had this issue until just now.
there is 1.5.5 coming, which is sdv 64-bit. you can either wait or use the beta (which will result in lots of mods breaking)
or convert to the unofficial 64-bit patch in the mean time
i think if i do go on a REAL mod frenzy the max that i would download 150 or so

the oom problems seemed to start after the release of 1.5, or at least they got more prominent around then. could be that the base game memory usage increased, or just that mods got bigger
then i deleted stardew and smapi
well, I wanted to mod it. so I took a lot from Pathos' recommendations. then I went to the user wiki recommendations and took loads from there. then I took a further look into nexus/moddrop and then took more from naver
before 1.5 it was largely 'just' sve

and not long ago i redownloaded alot again

it especially spikes upon saving; also it can only use memory in the 32-bit address range, which is about 4 gb total max, and other programs like discord will also use memory in that range so stardew in practice has access to about 3.5 gigabytes at absolute max and may have access to much less depending on what else is running

Yep, 1.8.4. Even versions before the 1.5 release don't work on mobile. 1.8.4 is the latest version that works on mobile.

Remove them all and add them back one by one slowly to see which one does it

I looked at the screenshots for all the mods that change the grass and none of them to seem to be busted up like this
I am playing with 3 friends, all using the same mods. Items appear different to all of us at any given times. When we plant rabbit for example, I see roses and weird icons, someone else sees rabbits, and someone else sees something different. This is happening with a variety of items. We have all tried hosting and remodding our folders. Anyone have any ideas to help us correct this?
That's why you remove them, as the change might've been caused by a conflict or a bug SMAPI can't show us

Yes we did, but we all completely wiped and deleted our saves and started a fresh map and it is still occurring on the new one as well.

So before we wiped to a new save, 2 of them were synced up seeing the same things and I was the odd man out. Then on another earlier save me and one of them were synced up seeing the same things and another was the odd one. Now we all see different things on the new save completely.
Right? This is us for the past week going crazy because giving gifts and cooking is a nightmare when no one sees the same things. lol

It might be useful for Quest Framework to show more specific errors. The info SMAPI provides as part of its peer connected event (which I assume Quest Framework is using there) should make it easy to distinguish between SMAPI not installed, QF not installed, and QF installed with a different version.
(Or which dependencies are missing, based on the "or dependencies" part of the error.)

Oh, I didn't read back far enough; I was just looking at the QF errors.
The way Json Assets works currently makes it pretty susceptible to shuffled item IDs. This is the first report I've seen of it happening between players in multiplayer, but it's not really surprising. I have ideas on how to rework it to be more consistent in future versions once the dust settles on Stardew Valley 1.5.5 though.
So is this something that we will just want to ride out until 1.5.5?
You can make sure you all have the exact same mods and configurations; if it still happens despite that, then yeah it'd probably be something addressed by future improvements to the ID assignment.

Looks like you have different Json Assets content packs installed, which will definitely cause issues in multiplayer.

Is it best practice not to add or remove mods from a save file? Like would you always have to start a new game, in that case?
There's an Ancient Crops content pack for Mail Framework Mod and Multi Yield Crops too, though not sure if that'd have any effect.
In most cases there's no need to start a new game when adding/removing mods. For custom content mods it's best if all players have the same mods installed. Json Assets is a little more finicky due to the dynamic ID assignment though.

Try removing that mod, and see if you still have shuffled item IDs. If you do, we can see if there's anything else in the new logs.

SMAPI 3.13.0 beta 2. I had it downlaoded and working yesterday
is there any particular reason you're using the for-developers beta?
it's for beta stardew, which updates the frameworks stardew valley itself uses significantly including going up to .net 5
most likely issue is that you're using the beta smapi, which you shouldn't unless you're using the beta stardew, which you probably shouldn't unless you're developing or testing some code mods
go back to the stable version (non-beta stardew and SMAPI 3.12.2) and it'll stop needing .NET 5

Immersive farm twos alright, you even get a giant shed for some making with an extra greenhouse on top for it, but the maps on the larger size.. for good reason though.. the place holds many little secrets which make using the farm amazing
And getting around the farms not bad since there’s mine cart network to the two far reaching sides of the place

Four corners is more multiplayer focused, survival is good if you like monsters, the farm with the foraging and big hardwood stumps is real nice

Well it definitely didn't fix it. We checked all our mod folders one by one before we started a new game and still seeing completely different things, so it seems it might be the ID issue for us.

- start a new save;

So one person who is playing with us has the CJB item spawner and me and the other person do not have the spawner. She spawned in sprinkers. Do you think that could be part of the issue? don't need to delete the current save; dragging the mods to the desktop is fine; CBJ item spawner in particular is designed to be safe to only install on 1 person's save
you have a lot of conflicting mods trying to load the same thing so maybe ... take one of them out
uninstall SVE, install a fresh download (looks like you might be either missing a couple files or dealing with detritus of older versions), and also Adarin's Girl Mod is not compatible with the anthro mod

@errant hollow There's no need to delete the previous save, it won't have any effect when testing a new save. CJB Item Spawner is local, so there's no issue if not all players have it. Spawning sprinklers shouldn't have any effect on the issue (unless they were custom sprinklers).

Yes, don't delete any folders in a mod's folder unless it specifically tells you to delete it on the Nexus page
Best to not break up any mods that are structured with multiple folders like that, they should be kept inside the same main folder

Is there a mod manager for linux? I tried using vortex from lutris but it doesn't really work.
So we did the test, and the icons for the rabbit were completely wrong, but it still showed us it was a rabbit but the icon was a rose for the rabbit. We could both see the spawned in items. It seems to be limited to stuff thats planted and cooked.

hey all, i havent been here in a while, i just have a quick question. I just added a new custom farm map and started a new game with it. It let me pick which farm to overwrite and i picked the one i thought i was least likely to use, the wilderness farm.... its spawning enemies at night. Is there a way to stop that besides starting over? (also if i just keep it like that, do the enemies have the ability to hurt my animals when i get them?)

You can edit your save file to change the farm type but that comes with its own quirks

The game saves progress when the in-game day ends, i.e., when the farmer goes to bed, collapses from exhaustion, or collapses at 2am. All progress during a day is lost if the player quits the game without ending the day. In multiplayer, the game saves after all players click through the prompts at end of day and wake up in the morning.

You can open CM content packs' (You have Ridgeside, SVE and Downtown Zuzu's packs currently) content.jsons and change "Preload": true parts to "Preload": false
This will reduce RAM usage and help to your game's speed

does anyone know of a mod that can create new warp points in a similar way to how if you leave through one exit out of the farm, it brings you to the location connected to it (example: bottom exit leads to marnie's ranch/lake area)? i want to use a custom 8 corners map, but it's so large, that it's rather pointless to have everyone's houses so far from the exit/entrance points.
@radiant patio I don't know of any currently working, there was Custom Warps, but it's been broken for a while.
There's custom warp locations, but that edits the totems instead of just giving a warp menu. You could use that, and just use cheats to get lots of totems.
You may try contacting the map author though, and ask nicely for a version where each square has its own exits.

i think i found myself my own solution somewhat. i have not played stardew 1.5 yet so i didn't actually know about this one craftable warp item, it feels rather cheaty to have it instantly, but well i'm using mods anyway (and big farm maps with multiple friends, at this point seems almost required). thank you for giving me suggestions tho 💙

I downloaded the beta and I'm trying to install smapi but there's no Stardew executable in the folder and I don't know how to get the "right" one there.
iirc the wiki page is slightly out of date; just running the 64 bit installer will give you an option to download linux stardew via the installer

for mod manager: click the non-default one here and don't let it update to the newer version if it asks
and if you want to do manual install
again, the non-default
(on nexus usually the non-beta version is default, check the file description to be sure)
and it'll download as a zip file; you'll want to open this zip file and drag the contents into the Mods folder that is in your Stardew Valley folder

like you click Download on the moddrop site, and there's 2 or 3 files listed, if there's 3 one is in a separate section and has like a "FOR ANDROID ONLY" in its description

opened the Trace category on your log, you have a whole lot of still zipped mods in there!
what did i do wrong?
including the current JA version!
you need to open the zip folder, and in it there's a folder wit hthe name of the mod
(in this case Json Assets)
and you need to drag that whole folder out into your Mods folder
i got a mod where i can turn the npcs into seeds
i saw that one it is so morbid
while you're in there you have a bit of clutter - zipped Longevity (probably just delete, iirc it clashes with SVE anyways), hats.xnb, a shortcut to NPC map locations, etc
these won't negatively affect anything
but i thought i'd bring it up in case you wanted to clear out a little bit of space on your hard drive
oh you also need to unzip the SpaceCore copy that's in there, same way as you do with JsonAssets

as i said delete Even More Recipes and reinstall it - creme brulee changed names to remove a special character and you updated by overwriting, so now you have it under its old name and its new name so it clashes with itself

in one memorable instance someone correctly diagnosed a JA item ID collision cascade jsut from a screenshot of the error count.

it's worse the more custom items you have, the more duplicate items you have, and the more loading steps JA got to before you went "oh whoops" and closed the game to sort out the issue
and iirc newer versions of JA are less spammy about it

basically mod A has bonus content if you have mod B! you don't have mod B so when JA gets to trying to load the bonus content, it finds it can't find x z and y ingredients and outputs to the console that it doesn't know what those ingredients are
