What are some mods you guys suggesting for multiplayer?

But really, just find mods that look fun for your group, then make a big zip of them all, then give everyone that zip and make sure no one edits it.
If your mods are different it's liable to cause errors.
(Technically not likely if the mods are all aesthetic, but easier to be draconian)

almost all mods support multiplayer; a few don't support it at all and a few others have special install instructions for MP.

So I'm having a Problem. while I'm launching Stardew without mods my main save makes the game to close it'self any fix on this or how I deal with this?

if it had mods in it and you're loading it without smapi it will likely crash yes

load with an empty mod folder but with smapi will 'purge' invalid data
though how modded your save is depends on if that's even worth trying

yeh but what sort o fdialogue? General for everyone? Specific for characters? For everyone, there's Canon Friendly. for individual chars try Immersive Shane, Ranch Expansion... Nexus search the name of the characters you're interested in and see what come sup!

So does anyone suggest any specific furniture mods that adds custom furniture rather than replace? I don’t know if the old furniture mods are compatible with 1.5 - Used to use them a lot before 1.5 update 😛 (Not really a fan of replacing rather than having a large catalogue to choose anything from)
hey, so i just "adopted" another horse (randomly by the bus stop) and...i don't know where it is or what i can do with it? it also has the exact same appearance as my current (modded) horse which is weird. i'm not sure what mod this is a part of; is it possible for me to keep the horses in a field like barn animals, do they need their own stables, can i use adopt & skin to give them a different appearance?

To begin with, I"d recommend Ridgeside VIllage and East Scarp as the most developed. HOWEVER, you might like to hold fire on East Scarp another month or so, as I'm writing a considerable amount more content for 2.0 release.

be warned the adopted wild horses tend to behave oddly. I mostly ignore them now. first time I tried to catch one it replaced my current horse and I lost it and my straw hat

i think playing in multiplayer would be easier if one of you made the folders, moved in all the new skins, renamed etc. then sent it as a zipped file to the other? so that you both have the exact same, and every time you update it send it again to be replaced? i haven't started playing with modded multiplayer yet, but i think that's what i'll do

I love playing modded in multiplayer, but sadly some mods act weirdly with it. Like the dive feature in the Swim mod, in multiplayer can get a bit odd

I run custom npcs on a rotating system so I play them through to 8 or 10 hearts then remove them if they dont have additional bonus features or arent so adorable I cant live without them.

exactly. My partner and I play in a bit of a storytelling-way so slowing time really helps especially with all those expansions, it makes the day not feel so awfully 'slow'

in swim, if i were to change "ReadyToSwim"s value to "true", would that mean that i stop accidentally leaping into water whenever i walk near it?
you can just bind a key to swim to turn it on and off

Anyways, im havinga problem with Generic mod config. the ui thingy is oversized, no exiy button, and its pretty trippy cause you need to double click the buttons.
It's Jason assets, so you need that and it'll appear in the game without an issue. The creator of the link I posted however has loads of different fences that are added to the game rather than replacing current!
not sure how to help with the generic mod config, that's definitely weird.

You really only need to set the two config options there is in Juna's config to false, then she should work just fine. I've set it so that I'll edit SVE's Wizard schedule if SVE is installed, rather than load an entirely new schedule for him. And the only real change for him in SVE is on Sundays when Juna bugshangs out with him.

Yeah, it works just as if you were editing the config file manually. At least for CP mods, I think SMAPI mods needs to ensure that GMCM can pick it up (CP mods are picked up automatically if they have a config).
That's nice, it'll make editing things a lot easier than having to find every single mod by hand and get frustrated over the configs, thank youuu.

Hey friends! I have an error I'm running in to since I downloaded the Kitchen Nook for 1st Farmhouse mod. ((If anyone knows of a more up to date mod that does the same thing, adding a kitchen to the first house, lmk!)) I walk up and try to use the kitchen and it gets stuck in a loop without opening the cooking menu. I can slide on out of my house but when I come back in the error is still persisting.

I switched from the Kitchen Nook for 1st Farmhouse mod to one that was last updated Jan of this year ((*Froststar11's Tiny Kitchen)) that does the same thing, but unfortunately I still get the same looping error, cooking menu not opening, when I try to access the kitchen. I removed what mods I thought could cause errors or access the same systems but that doesn't seem to have done it. Would someone be willing to look through my logs as well to see if there's a mod conflict I'm just not able to read/realize when I look at em?

for pc, ive been told to use mod drop or vortex and even manual install for mods but what do yall reccomend?
Manual's a bit easier to debug if anything goes wrong, but some people do fine with Vortex, and ModDrop doesn't seem to have many installation issues (just fewer available mods)
Manual install. Vortex and Moddrop tend to mess things up by deleting random files or putting files in weird spots
And yeah, Android SMAPI isn't actively maintained by anyone right now, but still runs for certain versions of SDV and mods

disable/skip SVE, Launch the game, get the errors. close the game. enable SVE again and run the game again. it will fix those visual bugs. worked for me

So what do I uninstall here? Redux or RSV? And then can I reinstall at some point? I can see that redux is attempting to rename the maps so I assume that after I can successfully save and reload one night without crashing that it may just be fixed?

The issue is Complicated. There's a warp to Custom_Tarniyar_GhostTown from the desert when WTTDR is loaded. Flash didn't realize the map name was changed to Custom_WTTDR_GhostTown, so the current warp goes to nothing when SVE is installed (because SVE's map replaces the standard desert map). Downtown Zuzu currently has an NPC-only warp in their sewers that breaks pathing in combination with WTTDR, which is why Flor went to the Desert at all. The easiest one to remove with the least amount of changes to the game is probably WTTDR, but you'd have to use console commands to warp to Downtown Zuzu.
Lemurkat has an article about the NPC Warp Circle, and the name change to WTTDR that broke it with SVE is recent. Flash is aware and has it fixed for the next update. https://lemurkat.wordpress.com/2021/06/29/the-case-of-the-missing-npcs/

edit: for now im disabling downtown zuzu and wttdr. Sounds like even once the SVE issue is updated, it won't fix the other issue caused by the conflict between Zuzu and WttDR? and I was having other issues with zuzu anyway (I went to zuzu this last time to investigate myself and was having some weird animation and graphical issues with my pickaxe).

No problem. If you're comfortable trying, you can also modify the content.jsons for SVE and Downtown Zuzu to resolve the issues. Lemurkat's article has the modification for Downtown Zuzu, and SVE just needs one line modified (but it's WAY down in the content, I forget which line number off-hand)
Because the two farms each override the standard farm, Flash couldn't do that. It would guarantee a conflict every time you loaded SVE. You can only have one of those farms installed at once.

Heya, thanks for reporting this! 😅 It's an art bug, yeah - looks like some of her front-facing portraits are incomplete. I believe we fixed that issue for the main pack Penny variants, but must've missed it for Brunette Penny. I'll get it fixed up for the next update!
Although also, can you tell me if it ever happened outside? By default, I believe that Penny's forward-facing portrait is only used in her 14 heart event in the farmhouse, so a number of her non-base outfits (which are only used outdoors) are missing that portrait because redrawing outfits for that one changed perspective portrait is a pain in the ass 😅 So if mod-added events or dialogue are also using that portrait, that could be why you're getting invisi-Penny

Odd question, but does anyone have any mod recommendations that they feel might be ignored in favor of the big ones (SVE and what have you as examples of big mods)
Does this always happen with the SVE mod?? Cuz I downloaded all the mods that it says it needs on Nexus and whenever I start the game and I make a new save and whenever it tries to load in like day one on the new save the game quits and this pops up. I can't get it eather cuz my laptop's too old.
Does anyone know what happened??

if you read the first line of the content patcher error, it said it had an error when loading morristod's portrait for sve because the image format isnt supported
so whatever the format is for that picture, it broke the game

well go into your sve folder and find the portraits
and then check the file extension
I think the last person with that issue with it wanting to install xcode let it and it stopped complaining
if theyre anything other than png it wont work. if it IS png, then something might be wrong in the content file. if theres nothing wrong in the content file....??? no clue

By chance do you know what folder the portraits are in?? I can't find them.
i updated some mods today and i am now having a weird problem. my character can walk around but the map freezes. when i go into the menu and close it my position is updated. i tried to parse my log but i get this message, "The page was not displayed because the request entity is too large."

large log means you need to look at it and try to clip the most likely constant repeating errors at the bottom

its a combination of things
@muted pagoda i removed the greenhouse and cellar mods, i saw those in the parse
Zuzu combined with SVE and possibly other things causes the Pathfinder for npcs to get stuck in a loop

eh I'd try as it is is with that loopback fix before removing stuff
once the pathfinder gets confused it makes warps in general throw up red all over

Hello, I've been experiencing a problem lately with SMAPI where after a day & going to bed, the game is stuck hanging on the save screen. The log seems to indicate some sort of error, but I can't tell what it is. I think it may be a problematic mod(s) but would like to know what/which.
All my mods are up to date, except for three which cannot be updated.

your computer might not like it for some reason, but it doesnt change your regular install so.. not really

there are some mods that don't like the 64 bit environment, but those are fairly minimal these days

Nope, never outside. Only ever happened in her 14 heart event and that one time in the screenshot. Luckily, the only mod-added dialogue I'm using is the "death" reaction from spouses mod, but it doesn't use that portrait.

the page gets significantly smaller and less confusing if you select what youre trying to install mods on. is it windows, linux, android?

Hey I have an important question. Is there any way to get local multiplayer to work on SMAPI?
because the acronym for "Stardew Valley" is "SDV", but the acronym for "Stardew Valley Expanded" is "SDE" and not "SDVE" (*Just pissing off)
since I'm on windows, controllers only normally work when I launch it from big picture mode on steam, which doesn't work bc I have to launch the smapi EXE itself
I've tried adding the exe as a game on steam but because it has it's own bootup process it doesn't work
did you set launch options?

so i downloaded smapi through vortex and i know to run modded stardew valley through steam you need to copy and paste the text in the installer window, but since i downloaded it though vortex im not sure where to find the text

Hey all, I hope someone might have an inkling why my game is getting an "System.OutOfMemoryException" error every 4 days when it goes to save.

Yes Grampton Fields is in here, but I've played through with and without it and it still crashes.
I've also followed https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Migrate_to_64-bit_on_Windows to migrate to 64-bit, but all that did was change the crash from every 3 days to every 4. It shouldnt be a matter of Ram as I have 12 GB worth, I've tried with both a fresh boot of the PC with no programs running and in a normal environment. Any insight from you awesome people would be, well, awesome!

it shouldn't cause oom issues unless it actually used all of your ram

The log I linked is the most recent one from smapi, other than that, is there a different log you might want to take a look at?
