eh, I cant be bothered to make it work for both, it works for me in my use case, they know their system far better to make a more robust scan
Okay, if you're sure, then I might try to iron out any remaining wrinkles and submit a pull request. I think it could save a number of folks some trouble, and after looking at their issue log, I doubt they would get to it on any human meaningful timescale if left to their own devices
haha, and yeah, going forward I do expect 64bit to come more to the forefront for modded, mods in general are getting bigger, and there is far more big content mods since 1.5
its really, really easy to hit 4-5gb without even trying now
Yeah honestly I was shocked to find out that Stardew was 32-bit only, given when it released. I thought the days of releasing 32-bit software were behind us long ago

So, was going to download the forest home version of Cecilia so I could download the Help Penny mod, but it seems that mod is no longer on Nexus. Are there any other mods that use the open plot just as you walk into town from the bus stop?
Yep. Her regular house is in that plot, but I was thinking of grabbing the forest one to open it for other potential mods. If Help Penny was the only other mod to use that plot, I'll just stick with standard Cecilia.

there's something wrong with the way you've installed SVE
it could be a number of things so let's see if we can work out what
that's certainly one possibility... delete all old SVE stuff from your Mods folder
then unzip fresh version

what that means in reality is, the word "Sapling" needs to be in the object name

Looks like that's the case for all the stuff from [JA] More Trees (Fruits and Veggies), but so far i am still getting 'can't be planted there' errors for all of the trees from that pack

Next to each other and IF2R-standard objects like fences, but not next to placed objects like pathways, statues, etc, both vanilla and non

'allow dangerous planting' and ' allow placing outside' (in case IF2R didn't count as farm) were both set "true" before i inquired, but thanks for mentioning cuz they may not have been

Yes, both vanilla and non. It looks like it's just placed objects causing interference, which i can move it's just annoying when they're mid-producing

I would make very sure your config is perfect, before we pull apart the mod
in specific, delete the config.json, run the mod again, let it recreate it, then change the settings

it's from SMAPI, I think it's basically a tool that helps produce the logs that we all use in here to diagnose mod problems

I have three Junimo Houses. Two seem to be behaving as expected, but the one on the left hand side seems to be filled with slakers.
Redid the config, and placed objects still prevent sapling placement. I removed some objects, planted, then replaced the objects, and the objects don't stop the trees from producing, just from being planted

hey guys! my game keeps crashing on just one multiplayer farm (this issue doesn't happen on others). i'm not the host of the farm.
there's this weird empty slot in my inventory that causes my game to freeze whenever i run my mouse over it, and i end up just having to force quit it. i can't get rid of it by dragging it to the trash or replacing it with another item. i’ve also verified the game file integrity
i use some smapi mods and attached the error log... i hope it helps, since it's kinda frustrating

get glam is buggy and outdated atm

i changed something in my More New Fish and SVE to make them compatible enough just so that i could use SVE's starfish in the fish tank
but lately I couldn't find any MNF fish around
they're still in the item spawner and my fish ponds...
so i probably messed something up
so much trouble for a starfish
i think i'll download the mods again and use them as intended...
let me know if the error continues after you do that so i can do some testing on my end

nope, another person came here and said that it doesnt but now hes both using and not using vortex which i assume is some complicated solution to make it work. short answer, no. its recommended to download your mods manually

Soooooo I put a hat on one of my children (though this might just be a red herring), and the next day said child teleported to Leo's Hut and just stays there the whole day. so i use a mixture of two mods, medieval buildings, and dutch buildings, i disabled the buildings i want dutch in the medieval buildings, all work but the greenhouse? any idea i really wanna fix it as it shows up default, and doesnt match my farm.
Okay, I guess I've released my first "mod" for Stardew--it's a very minor update to the Vortex extension that lets Vortex manage a 64-bit install as well as a 32-bit install. Because of the way Vortex manages installs, it gets a little fussy switching from one to the other, by which I mean it might break your 64-bit install by trying to reinstall 32-bit SMAPI over the top of your 64-bit SMAPI, but it's an easy fix by taking SMAPI away from Vortex, uninstalling SMAPI from your 64-bit install, and then manually reinstalling SMAPI to your 64-bit install

Problem is in the message I replied to btw
Download the mod and plop it into your mods folder after extracting. Inside make a folder called Buildings. Once you've done that, go into the folder. Then make another folder. Say, Medieval Buildings. Put the buildings pngs from that mod into the folder. Now, since they have seasonal changes, you'll want to make four folders in it. Name them after the seasons and put all spring buildings in Spring, etc. Like this 
You'll also want to make sure that they are named purely after the building themselves. So a png (or xnb) changing the design of a deluxe coop would be Deluxe Coop

Its been quite a few months since I've last played and when I updated mods I noticed that none of the PPJA mods needed to be updated. Have they been abandoned or is they nominally finished and no longer need to be updated?
I can tell you one thing and that is that they are not finished
There are loads of items in the shipping list that have no recipe or any source
so in the buildings folder, is there any pictures, or simply four sub-folders for the seasons
Maybe the mod authors are taking some time off but its been around 6 months since I've played and its weird that I haven't had to update it at all.

The Buildings folder? No, not pictures. In there you'll want the other folders... which then lead to the sub-folders for the seasons so it'd go like this
its not recommended because it can break your game
If a building doesn't have a seasonal change, then just put it loosely in with the season folders

You can put animal skins in Adopt 'n' Skin if they're xnbs 
for medieval buildings, there are so many options, and under "1_fall.png" is there any shortcut to thjat

@silk fossil OutOfMemoryException errors on Windows mean that your game ran out of memory. The game only has access to a small part of your computer's memory by default. with the amount of mods you have, its inevitable that you'd need to get 64-bit stardew

i think it connects the the end of the desert road and the second road for walk to the desert, i noticed a bunch of my characters using the bus to get there, its really strange, but im also getting the camera issue, im glad to know whats causing it, any way to fix it?

the broken desert warp is an SVE bug x) (edit: fixed in the next version according to flash)
untested fix: in SVEs content json, on line 27070, change all Custom_Tarniyar_GhostTown to Custom_WTDR_GhostTown

my problem is for some reason there are mods with configs that will not generate no matter what i do unless it is copy and pasted after i ran through the default smapi launcher
I looked, and though the folder is there, there's no screenshot of the farm map
MO2 support is relatively new, so i'm not sure too many people use it quite yet, if we're not able to help here, there's also the MO2 discord, but we'll help where we can if it's stardew-related. 🙂
Hm, what do you mean by copied and pasted? are they being generated in a different location and you have to move them?
fwiw, default configs are indeed generated on first run of a mod, so that part is expected and working as intended. 🙂
so what mo2 does is makes it where you dont have to put mods in the game folder except for script extenders and such

the problem with that is mods with hotkeys need that config file wich isnt that much of a deal because most come pre packaged with it

so in turn it makes you manually put mods in mod folder then copy the config to mo2 location
SMAPI already does that by default, they are stored in a separate 'mods' folder and can be organized in whatever fashion you like for the most part, so that shouldn't be causing an issue...
This sounds more like a MO2 issue though, as config files are properly generated in their mod folders with a standard SMAPI setup as well as with other mod managers like Vortex and Moddrop, so it may be a MO2-specific issue.
I expect they may be able to clarify how to correct it in their discord 😮

do you have identical mods folders (for json assets mods in particular), so that the mods load in the same way for both of you? i don't know if JA has problems with multiplayer, but that sounds like something that could happen if the json assets mods are loaded in different orders or if they are different in some way

So generally when working with multiplayer, you want to share the actual mod folder of the host to the other players, as it's possible, even if the same mods are used, for the configs to generate differently, for example in this case, an id generated in one being different than in another. It just helps to narrow down those sort of things from happening.
But an out of date mod can also cause issues 🙂

So I have a mod question that I can't seem to figure out. I'm trying to get the Sorren Custome NPC mod to work. I'm not getting any error messages, and when I type in the smapi text box to get the status of all the mods. All the mod elements for the Sorren Mod say loaded and patched but none of them say applied. I redownloaded all the required mods and the mod itself and the game runs fine and all my other mods are working as intended just not this one. I'm trying to get it to load on an already existing save file and on Nexus in the fourm it says that should be fine. I'm about to start a new save file to see if it will work on that file. But I figured I would reach out in case anyone has any ideas.

that would be vortex, not nexus, and vortex is fine.. if you understand how it works

its usually a dependency you didnt pick up which makes it not load at all
Yes the npc isn't anywhere I looked through the schedule and he just isn't there. Yes let me get everything reloaded and I'll grab the log.
some npcs are also scripted to not 'arrive' for a few days into the game
Do you have the NPC Map location mod? I've found that useful to see if added NPCs are working, but uploading the log would help a bunch.
Here's a random question that I already know the answer to, but Any tricks to speed up the loading of a game after adding mods. I know adding more mods makes it take longer, but any suggestions if there are any? I'm used to this with MC modding, but was just hoping there was a way to hop in quicker and having my gf load our multiplayer game from her PC without taking 20 mins. (I have about 140, technically 77, but the launcher sees it as 140 mods so that's most likely on me). I did find out I can type /pause while she joins and that might help out so time at least won't pass while she's loading in

Doing some research Custom Music seems to be a memory hog. Hopefully I can remove this and just not have custom music?
I just updated Ridgeside Village. Deleted old folder, moved new one into mods. Removed the Quest Addon mod as suggested. Did not use Reset Terrain Features (recommended) as I don't know what this means or how to do it. Started playing SDV but RSV is no longer showing up in game 😕

Custom Music is required by some mods, but if you disable preloading for each music file, it generally saves a good amount of memory, as it doesn't load everything into memory at the start. Downside is you'll have to do it in the mod configs for each mod that uses it.
Shouldn't be a problem, that will help out a bunch. Any idea why it takes awhile to load into a save? Looks like it might be loading assets.
Loading time is just something that's gonna get longer the more mods you have, the biggest differences would be seen in removing the biggest mods, but those generally also have the most content. 🙂

pause and resume dont work until there's at least two people connected, HOWEVER, if there is only one person connected, you can leave your inventory screen open and time will pause until the second person connects. 🙂
Got it. So as soon as I see it hit 6:10 use the command and it should be fine

Well, as soon as you log in, you can press escape and it will pause time since you're the only connected player. And then when she joins, time will resume. 🙂
(escape being the default key for bringing up your inventory menu)

if you have very long startup times, setting process affinity can sometimes speed it up, (I doubt it'll help with a 15min loading time though)

I added the boarding house mod, but its a save that already existed before i added the mod, I didn't think that would be an issue, but I can try running it without it.
There's also https://github.com/Tawling/MultiPause but it's latest release isn't packaged (except in one of the issues), so despite being updated for 1.5 there's not a 1.5 release. 😛

can you disable animal husbandry (put a . in front of its folder) and then play to see if the issue occurs again?
if it does, can you enable animal husbandry and disable love of cooking and try again?

When I launch it from Mod drop it works just fine but it's still running the 32 bit version

do you have these files inside your stardew vallex expanded [CM] folder?
it cant find a soundfile its trying to play somehow..

So I just updated to the 64 bit, and I'm getting a weird frameskip, or frame loss in a way. It looks like the game rubberbands to an extent as I walk
command prompt log isn't giving anything, vsync is on, and I can't figure out for the life of me what is going on
search results don't come up with much on this, so I'm a bit troubled on where to start
have you tried windowed/fullscreen/borderless?
I shall test that real quick, or in a little bit whileit boots up
So I can't get smapi to load properly

generally yes. sometimes bushes are in the way though or similar stuff
most I believe do work fine in that regard; I can only imagine certain time ones, or maybe like, adding in SDV expanded late causing an issue
and when you change farmmaps, you should start a new save

I'm getting some weird frame skips in 64 bit, no errors or extra console lines are appearing, just a weird frame skip that almost looks like rubberbanding
Going by the advice of another threat, it appears to be related to some content patcher animation mods, as I just cleared out all of those and the issue was resolved mostly. Now to figure out which is the direct culprit x)

ok, so i'm completely new to modding stardew. I just installed a ton of things from nexus onto vortex but when I open the game it's just vanilla. How do I put the mods into the actual game if they're in vortex?
the big hurdle most people starting with vortex is..you need to deploy
hmm so the ppja ice cream machine, seems like a lot of the ice cream lose money, is there another reason to make them?
vortex has basically 3 states mods can be in, installed, enabled, deployed.
eat them? give them as gifts?
are they good for that?
eating them is a big deal if you run a mod like spice of life, which rewards eating different things
I clicked deploy but nothing changed. I don't think vortex is sending the mods to the actual game folder
click open->open game mod folder
there's only the standard 3 files there
that means you either didnt actually deploy, or you didnt set the mods you downloaded to enabled first
blue 'installed' mods are just that, vortex knows they exist, but you havent told it to do anything with them
(there are settings in the options to both enable and deploy after downloading something, but they're not on by default), fresh vortex install doesnt do either of those things for you
there isn't anything blue for me. It just says enabled on the left side of the mod name in a green box

you need less folders inside of folders
likely you're extracting it to a folder, rather than just extracting it, thus making a folder with stardew valley expanded 1278743879 version number, as an outer folder

mods generally can just be extracted, unless they're packaged incorrectly

and yeah, number there usually means it thinks it needs to deploy something
in game for mods n things. Like there are 2 mods that use B and I want to remap one of them
its probably configurable in it's config file (config files generally only spawn in the mod folder after the game has run once since installing it)
some mods also support generic mod configuration menu, a mod of itself which lets you set some of the config file settings on the fly in the title screen

Recently, I'm getting this kind of message in console, at first does nothing, but at consequently crash the game after 5 day saves. (i'm despaired)
running it from vortex still runs the steamapi/steam overlay, but you set the launch options to run the smapi exe, it tells you during the setup process
@thick ibex I dont think that specific yellow blurb is a problem, but a log from where the game crashed would tell more, also possible its just an oom game death
