edmont, yeah! if you want launching Stardew from Steam to launch with your mods, you'll need to copy that entire line with the game path, from the first " to the last %, and paste it into your launch options

Looks like either your download got corrupted, you used a mod manager that hecked it up massively, or someone has gone through and deleted the manifest.jsons from all the content pack parts.
I downloaded it from nexusmods
Download SVE again, manually (i.e. without any mod managers), and install that new copy of SVE.

Delete SVE off your computer. Go to nexusmods or moddrop. Go to SVE's page. click Download
if on nexus click "download manually"
install that copy of SVE by unzipping it and dragging into the mods folder
then either your download got corrupted and you need to download it again, or someone has removed the manifest.json files from inside the content packs.
(and you need to download it again because your copy is missing some files)

if your download got messed up and never included those files then reinstalling it from the corrupted download won't fix anything

considering flash would be buried in bug reports if an entire version of SVE was messed up, the likely reasons for this are either a. something went wrong transferring the file from Nexus to your computer, or b. somehow those files are missing?
maybe your antivirus ate them? if you share a computer with someone maybe they deleted them?

run the installer - you don't need to uninstall SMAPI, just install it again - and at the end when you get to the installation complete screen there is a "paste this into your launch options" in green and the entire launch option string you will need in green on a separate line
and you want to copy that entire line - it is the only thing on that line.

also generally vortex is not recommended for SMAPI
like, stardew mods. in general. it's generally best to use manual download and install them manually as installing them manually just consists of unzipping them and putting them in your mods folder.

so there's one that says "install on mac" one for "install on wndows" and one for "install on linux" and it looks like you're on windows so run that one
then press 1 to install SMAPI
and then once it's done DO NOT CLOSE IT
you need to copy a line of text from there to put into your launch options

With the Multiple Floor mod, can I just copy a tmx file, rename it and use it as a floor?

The mod provides you with 2 floor content packs, each of them having 2 floors... so right now I have a 5 floor farmhouse, but I don't care for the arrangement of 2 of the floors.

@final patrol The Artisan Valley functionality was initially a requirement, but made a stand alone thing for V2. The update last week corrected a few errors that had been reported. I also made a second version to make the desert vendor SVE compatible.
There is still a major update in the works...Eventually to come out someday.
Looking forward to it greatly... I just love the mod

guys, i have a question. i'm trying to play with my gf (she's on mac, im on windows) with some mods (sve especially). because she is on mac we cannot play on the usual online mode (we both have the steam license) because of a bug with GOG's servers, so we tried with LAN mode. however, she also has some troubles joining me, especially this error : wapi_WSAIoctl: Need to translate 6 [Device not configured] into winsock error, which appears in that smapi console when starting the game. does anyone have any idea?

Yay! Success... You can indeed add as many or as few floors as you want to Multiple Floor Farmhouse by copying existing floors... of course you also have to alter the config file and the content file and the assets file... but that is all relatively easy. (other than the blasted content.json which will drive you nuts if you misplace a bracket)

I think it's a combination of mods I have that is causing it, since when I remove SVE & grandpa's farm, it works.
but for other people with SVE &grandpa's farm it still works with no problem

the wisest remark in that thread was, making sure you have an iron grip on user content is what you do before you sell out to some media corporation
right after i load a save, i deleted npc map location and that fixed it

I do. But it is important to keep in mind it's a BIG mod that changes a lot of things, and you need to make sure you're watching for compatibility on other mods (especially those that modify maps), so you'll want to watch for that.
(And if it's not compatible with SVE, make sure you read the whole description. There's a few modders that get pretty upset if you ask if something will be made compatible with it, but they generally make that pretty clear in their descriptions.)
It's not that modders get upset - SVE at least used to change very often and others had to keep up with all the changes and users aren't always the most understanding in asking for compatibility either

So far, I've liked Lunna, but haven't gotten very far with it because I was getting Memory errors (not from Lunna, I run 500+ mods, many of them expansions) and just recently set up 64-bit to get around that problem.

I'm on PC, but haven't switched to 64 yet. The One Day At A Time mod has prevented any more memory issues so far.
It's honestly easy to run up the numbers on mods, since SMAPI counts certain folders. I think Downtown Zuzu alone counts as 9 or so. I have a decent number of mods that SMAPI counts as more than one.
One Day at a Time is a GREAT mod. Unfortunately, I'd actually hit the point where if I did more than 20 levels in the Skull Cave in a day, I was crashing before a save could complete. (Hence stepping away for a bit than finding 64-bit)

I have been trying to get CustomizeExterior to work on my SV.
I have removed every mod except for SVE and its requirements, and it still doesn't work. When I remove SVE, it works.
I have not removed ConsoleCommands and ErrorHandler.
I have updated (and reinstalled with a fresh download) every required mod of SVE, including the mod itself. I have also tried a fresh install of CustomizeExterior. I have also tried to see if the buildings itself were the problem, but they are not.
Other users also have the updated versions of SVE and its requirements, and it works for them.
Running on 64-bit.

I'm not sure what you mean by "build from my farm", so can't tell you if I do or not.
A mod that lets you build buildings without having to go to talk to Robin.
But if I can't fix the screen tearing, it's a moot point anyway.

I've tried every combination of windowed, fullscreen, vsync, etc.
16 GB of RAM is what I'm running. Don't remember my video card (and am currently at work). I had screen tearing, don't remember what changes I made to fix it.

Nexus is putting in a new thing that says you're not allowed to delete your mods, ever, even if the old version has a massive bug in it. Also other people get money for making mod packs, but the modders will still be the ones that get all the yelling when something breaks.
I don't think it will hit SDV as much, because SMAPI yells at you for having out of date mods, but there are going to be idiots who don't update their mods and get upset when they don't get new features and some days it really doesn't take much to make a modder quit entirely.
So for their own mental health I suspect quite a few modders will skip over to Moddrop

I don't have issues with collectsion, per se. But I've seen the disaster that is people putting alpha or beta mods into Minecraft modpacks that get popular, and I can so easily see the same thing happening
Also, that's dumb as hell on Nexus's side of things anyway. They already regularly have issues with their servers. Forcing people to keep obsolete stuff on them isn't going to help with that.
but the strange thing is, Customize Exterior worked before, around when I had 530 mods. After that I added more mods and when I had 680 it stopped working. But now even with only the required mods and SVE it doesn't anymore. ;-;
And SVE was in the included list of 530 mods already.
also we're gonna have some hell when it comes to "making mods work together", because THAT means Vortex will have to supply pre-filled config.json files
Everybody uses Nexus, so I feel leaving it is not so much of an option.

yeah, SMAPI generates them. But there is a 'default' setting when they're generated, that often has to be tweaked to make mods work together. So in order for them to work together, Vortex MUST supply the config files itself. And that opens up lots of bugs
just throw it on the desktop or something and then play again lol

Figured out the tearing issue, more or less. It wasn't a graphics issue at all. Rather, it was lag. I'd recently put in a mod that let you configure the machine completion time for casks, etc. By default the check time for the mod was set to 10 ticks! So six times a second it was checking all of my machines, which I have literally thousands of. Changed that to check every ten seconds instead, and no it's smooth.

Placement Plus, which lets you replace floor tiles with other floor tiles (rather than having to pickaxe them up) doesn't work in 64, nor does Instant Build.

Only real downside so far is that it takes like three times as long to load the game.

No problem. Downtown Zuzu is in an alpha and at least right now has some weirdnesses with Walk to the Desert redux, but they are aware of them and I'm guessing they'll be fixing them soon.
Garden Villages is honestly a bit underwhelming (IMO), but YMMV.
Garden Village is going to be remade as well

hey @tired brook, sorry to bother you again ^^' i downloaded the customize exterior mod and few buildings mods, dropped them in the buildings folder inside customize exterior after loading the game once. SMAPI doesn't show any errors and shows me all my exterior choices i odwnloaded in the log, but when i rightclick on a building in game i don't get any UI?

All the downloads are the same, oddly. You have to download all of the releases together.
In any case, I downloaded the code, but I'm not savvy enough to turn that into a working dll, so I'll just be patient.
If you click on the "assets" dropdown in the first post, it gives a list of individual files. That's how I updated a bunch the other night.
I'm not sure that's actually different than the one on nexus, though. They are both the same version number, anyway.
Until they hit official release, he's intentionally leaving the version numbers. Pathos is the one making the call when to update the version number and release on Nexus.

asking once again, maybe someone has any idea regarding this - my gf couldn't join me through the LAN (she's on mac, we have some mods) and she get this error in that SMAPI console : wapi_WSAIoctl: Need to translate 6 [Device not configured] into winsock error. we both have the steam license, but we can't try the default online mode because of that bug that makes impossible for macOS users to play multiplayer
already reinstalled mono for several times (even trying vs channel and stable channel as well)

yeah, i know about these issues, but they are basically related to online mode. that's why we are trying through the LAN, so we can temporary "fix" the issue. lan works great without smapi (so without mods)

Weird question, is there any UI mods or any way of knowing which mod a specific item/recipe comes from?

that 'command prompt' is the output for SMAPI, so when you close it, you're closing SMAPI, and therefore the game. So it's not so much crashing as just closing. You can minimize it, but cannot close it. It's good to have it around though, because it tells you when there's something going wrong with a mod that we can help with. ๐

That would be useful, i don't know of one though... Usually what i end up doing is going to my mods folder and doing a search of the item name to see what comes up, and then finding out what mod folder that's in xD

If you're referring to NPC Map Locations, Bouhm is the developer of that mod.
For some reason, when I give the log page my txt file and save in order to get my url the page constantly loads and then it'll go to that "sorry" page where you have no internet or the internet is messing up. (I'm sorry I forgot the text but it is an error page for any website)

You can use Reset Terrain Features to fix the debris or use No Clip to manually clear it out. The greenhouse can be moved if you talk to Robin (repair it first).

You can reset debris, trees, and bushes in any map.
Although since you mentioned you're on year 2, you may not want that option. I recommend using No Clip and manually clearing and Rest Terrain Features for resetting the bushes.
I'm not sure why SVE would affect Customize Exterior, I'll need to take a look. Can you create a zip of your entire Mods folder, upload it to a site like https://litterbox.catbox.moe/ (ideally with a 1-3 day expiry), and post the link here?

So I'm looking at Mousey's PPJA&F Ref and and it says a specific recipe is held by Gus, but his selection seems a little short. I believe I can use the instruction's from Khadija's Recipe Shop to increase the amount of recipes shown, but I just wanted to ask if I could just give a large number like 1000 and be fine, or if that is too far over and the game will have issues.

Question, i am new to stardew valley mods and i am trying to do a multiplayer world with my brother but when i load in a new farm on co-op it doesn't give me the code that he needs to join

I don't know if its because of mods, but im in multiplayer with my friend and we have all the same mods downloaded but every time I go below my farm to marnies ranch I immediately crash and its only marnies ranch but I have to go there to get to the wizard.

Do anyone have some knowledge on increasing the amount of recipes different venders hold? I'm wanting to be able to access the new recipes to Gus and Khadija without effecting the cart lady (if it even would)
It looks like you have a ton of errors related to the Adopt & Skin mod. I'm not sure why it's saying "the specified path doesn't exist," but maybe try removing Adopt & Skin and see if that works? (If that fixes it and you really want the mod, maybe download and install a fresh copy.)
There are animals in front of Marnie's, which would explain why you get a crash when you go there specifically.

@potent smelt as far as i can see Khadija's mod removes most modded recipes from vanilla shops with the "RemovePackRecipesFromVanilla": list in the shops.json of the STF part of the mod, deleting the specific mods from the list should bring them back to gus. not sure what's the best way to increase Khadija's selection
assuming they were originally sold at gus, which i think is the case with most of PPJA at least
Gus has a couple modded recipes, but I bet a specific mod just avoided it. I'll give this a try

that's probably because SVE is inside this folder -Stardew Valley Expanded--3753-1-13-7-1624912097, moving all the folders from that folder to the Mods folder probably fixes it

And upon further inspection, those do NOT need to be moved to the main MODS folder. I don't think you'll break anything if you do, but they can stay in the "DiscoveriesInTheDepths" folder (that's what I do with mine).

can't be removing mods that add anything like npcs or items to your game, no save that used them will work after

Depends on the mod. Most of them (especially big ones like SVE), recommended is to delete the entire old folder than replace it with the new stuff. Overwriting files can leave files that are no longer necessary and will cause issues.
