i just delete everything in the folder and verify game files for a fresh clear, only problem is going through save games w that method

You can just install SMAPI again, it deletes it's old files

how much of an issue is mods being incompatible with each other in this game? i just installed SDV Expanded and am trying to find a bunch of quality of life mods to add to the list
I'm tempted to add a mod that let me grow meat plants but the idea sounds morbidly weird
SVE is mostly incompatible with other content mods unless it explicitly adds SVE compatibility.
QoL mods should be mostly good 🤔

Anyone know of a mod to remove players from a world but keep the house?
I know it's incompatible with some stuff, and the people who have incompatible stuff often get really touchy about being asked about incompatibility (or more specifically, being asked about making it compatible), but is it really "mostly" incompatible? I'm running 560+ mods, including a bunch of extra locations, and don't seem to have much in the way of issues (heck, my biggest issue is figuring out all 70+ people for the Introductions quest)
I think there's only a couple of mods I've skipped because they were not compatible with SVE.
Things that edit the same things about the game are incompatible. So it depends on what the other mods you've tried are.
how do i get the immersive farm 2 farm map in SDV expanded? i thought it would just show up in the list of maps to choose from when creating a new save, but apparently not

Yep. You pick which farm you want from the files page and install that separately from SVE.
(Or choose to run SVE with the standard farm.)
Nah. A LOT of Stardew mods don't seem to like mod managers. It's more likely to break than work from what I've seen.

It shouldn't. It doesn't add any of its own controls to the game, so anything that works on your controller normally should work just fine in SVE.
(also I think there are mods to help out with accessibility for those of us with bad hands, though I can't remember which)
The various mods that add functions with keybinds are far more likely to have problems (though some of them are pre-programmed for controllers).

Quick question for a mod called “immersive characters- Shane” it says that it modded the heart events but I’m already married to Shane so I’m guessing that I can’t see them now right?
i use lookup everything with SVE and it works fine, i also play with a controller and if you’re using steam you can adjust keybinds (i have the screenshot button set to be F1 so i can use lookup)
If you've already seen them, no, unless you use a mod like Event Repeater that can play them again.

Does anybody know if the multiple spouses mod works with the "babies take after spouse" mod? I have the latter installed but I wanted to install the multiple spouses to use on my preexisting save.
I don't believe UI Info Suite does. It adds a tab in the menu that you can adjust the settings on. It doesn't have a config file that would generally come with anything with keybinds (which is what we modify to change the keybinds).
It worked for my first baby, I didn't get long enough into that run to try a second (or a second spouse, heh)
I believe it will customize all the boys and all the girls the same way, but you probably don't want more than one of each anyway.
if I use like 1 or 2 mods on a vanilla playthrough that don't really give me a crazy advantage can I still count it as vanilla?
Unfortunately, Lookup Anything does have keybinds, and I have no idea how to adjust them to controllers.
does lookup anything have more than the F1 keybind? You might be able to add it to a thumb stick click if that works for your hands

Sounds like a spritesheet issue? Try changing your config options to see if it pulls a different area?

while trying to do some wide sweeping mod fixes and tried to fix some errors related to file path lengths. I checked the log, tweaked some non-smapi folder names, and tried running it all again to keep going and got a new kind of file path error.

try renaming the longer ones to something shorter

How do you set up texture mods?
usually, they require content patcher, so just make sure both CP and the texture mod are in the Mods folder
although read the mod desc for specific instructions

So I downloaded the depot, followed the steps for installing SMAPI but when i try and set the path to the depot version of the game it says its missing "stardew valley.exe" but in the folder i have "stardewvalley.exe" can I just remove the space?

Technically all are reserved but the one top left is not yet begun so may be available on the first on first served basis. Hime has the middle house, SG the right hand one and ItsBenter the inn.

nope, you have 1.4. the mod author just didnt update the manifest to say 1.4 which is why it shows up that way. if you want, you can open the mod folder, open the manifest.json and change the 1.3 to 1.4

wonder if flower valley is affecting that
you dont need to open it i assume? just put the mod in your folder and it should work fine. you can also check the config of TMXL to check what the key to open it is
and you can remove flower valley to check if its affecting it and put it back if it isnt
F2 is for the tmxl buildables if you don't have any installed the key won't open anything

I've used it in the past and it's hinky but works if you don't want much
well... looked at your log and you've got a fair bit of stuff that is no longer useful & may cause probs on it's own.
Also, you have a ton of animated stuff & that eats up your operating memory something fierce because it grabs it every tick you have an animated whatever on screen

As to the housel.. . After Farmhouse Redone sank under the waves I have given up temporarily on house mods... I just use the game house and get all the Renovations and use Multiple Floors and Ace's Expanded Cellars
I have way more space than I can use either for machines or just decorating.
I also use Greenroom for the Farmhouse and have a nice Sun room effect "upstairs"
it is missing some of the neato keeno things a custom house has, but it's a lot less hassle

it's for windows, it just uses the linux version in some way

i'm not sure about that. that looks like cjb item spawner and the shuffle shouldn't affect the items there
the log might be too big to upload to the site. you could try to upload it here, or upload only a part of it (selecting a large amount of text starting from the top of the log) to the site
can you post the .txt here then?
you can try opening the game again and closing it as soon as it's done loading to maybe get a smaller log. or closing it if repeating errors start to happen when it's opening

if the log doesn't show any errors, i guess you can only remove mods to see if it helps. i think that mods that modify visuals in some ways can be often taxing. farm type manager also has a setting to limit the amount of monsters it spawns which i guess can make some difference
so I loaded the game up until the moment my character wakes up and the log is still 142 MB, i really don't know what to do

if you can open the log in a text editor you could either search it for "duplicate item" to see if that kind of warning exists, or select text starting from the top until the repeating errors start and upload the selected text to the site

Having issues with the BAFV on android. It was working on my PC least time I played there near the middle of May. Tried the original and two unofficial updates. Right now the only error I get is couldn't load dll, the bfav files don't seem to be giving off errors and the content is ig as I can see the empty slot for donkey milk, ect. Not most people, no. Just usually people with a lot of mods or big mods due to the out of memory errors
on 64 bit
64 bit comes with some new bugs and some mods don't work so if you don't want to make more RAM available to the game there's no reason to switch

I found out an interesting thing just a bit ago... I staarted a new save "on the side" to play with the Map Edit mod... then I had to dump my game b4 sleeping bcause of RL intrusions.
So... when I went back to the game, of course I had lost whatever stuff I had done like planing parsnips and gathering things BUT the areas where I used Map Edit to change the map were still there...
It seems to be a persistent change whenever it is used. Also... it's a lot harder than it looks in the little video on the Nexus page... well... harder for me, anyway

It seems you are missing a fair amount of stuff... did you somehow not install a full mod or so? For ex: it says it can't find "furniture.png" to assemble the Industrial furniture set.
i have all the industrial furniture I think, i just deleted a bunch of mods that had custom Farming redux since it doesnt work anymore
Also there are quite a few items that it "has no idea what xxx is" I believe the last is what was making your farmer jitter at the fridge... the game was trying to see what could be cooked
but eitehr the recipes were not complete or the ingredients weren't... that was what the repeating red portion at the bottom of your log was all about.

So uh, I'm having issues with a mod called Stardew Expansion, and despite it having compatibility with Walk to the Desert, a custom thing/map keeps breaking and Idk why, I can't read what's causing the issue so I'm parsing my log if someone wants to help
And before I post the log link, the backwoods map that it says it's conflicting with is not the issue, I've replaced and tested it and it works after loading just one of the content packs. It's the next line which explains that the mod crashes when loading Custom Map asset from the Tego Stardew Expansion mod and I have no idea why

Also for some reason I think the expansion mod may not work with recolors, cause it seems to not change the farm map with Starblue and Elle's dirt recolor
The error here seems to be related to how the map was made - it looks for a spritesheet with a path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Games\Stardew Valley\Content (unpacked)\Maps\townInterior.tsx'., but I think that's specifically what Pillow has, not what everyone will have

you could edit the map yourself for now, though that would require you to locate the .tsx file in question, placing it in the folder where the map file is, editing the map file with Tiled, so that you can change the tilesheet's path and then it would be usable
though for a workaround it seems fairly complicated
so the best way would be to just wait for Pillow to make an update

oh, that sounds cool in a way, but I was thinking more of the exhaustion debuff revamp - instead of it slowing you that same day and reducing your energy by half the next, I feel it would be cooler if the "sore" status stayed with you reducing your speed by 1 for the whole day and reducing your energy regeneration from food by 75%

Hello everyone! I've been trying to play with the SVE mod for a couple days now but can't seem to get it to work. The game gets stuck on the loading screen as soon as I create/load a save. I managed to run SVE removing the TMX(which freezes the game exactly the same) and CM (runs but red script appears on SMAPI). I've done everything I got to read everywhere. Help!

Hey, i'm suuper close to getting perfection. I ran my save through stardew checkup and it tells me i have one unknown mod crafting recipe. I use SVE and a few other mods. Does anyone know of a way to find out which recipe i'm missing?
in yxour collection it shows cooked recipes
if its a cooking recipe you can look through your collections, and then use lookup anything
it's not a cooking recipe, it's a crafting recipe

How long do you wait before declaring it frozen? Using this style of mods will often freeze your game until it's finished processing everything.

@austere sleet looking at the GPU it's Intel(R) HD Graphics 530. i'm not sure but seems like the computer might be pretty weak and could struggle with running modded SDV?

disabling the SVE shadows in its config might help a bit i guess, as well as the seasonal edits. you could also set the Preload options to false in the custom music content pack of SVE, which might help too if the computer starts to use swap because it's running low on memory @austere sleet

Can anyone help? My boyfriend is installing the 64bit version of stardew and keeps getting the 'that directory doesnt contain a stardew valley executable' despite it being in the depot folder.
Hi I'm having an issue (hopefully this is the right place to put this, if not I will repost in the correct channel) with SMAPI where the console will randomly pop up and take focus of my computer, minimizing the game from fullscreen or just popping on top of windowed (borderless as well). I would post my full mod list but since that issue has happened, I've added more mods so the only relevant ones to this issue are Stardew Valley Expanded and all of its dependencies.
Gonna have to start adding automatic disables for mods, I think. This way I don't have to keep pointing people to the config when compatibility issues crop up.

Admittedly Sandy's 10 Heart Event was heavily inspired by LfL/Siv's Sandy 10 Heart Event, and I did kinda-sorta plagiarize Sandy's room from that mod lmfao

like, in a sequence of 5, it predicted anchor, glass shards, ancient seed, anchor again, and dwarf drum. but what i got was glass shards, a chewing stick, a strange doll, a rare disc and glass shards again 😭

The schedule changes should both be in CP, so they won't crash the game. SMAPI will pick whichever schedule gets loaded in last (i.e., which is last in alphabetical order)

mods are loaded alphabetically, sometimes you might want a certain mod to load after a different one
usually the mod author named the folders to handle that though

Hey guys, Ive been playing sv with 200+ mods for awhile and all of a sudden it started giving the out of memory exception error. It crashes mid game and doesnt save most of the time and mods dont work. I tried to delete some heavy stuff, Im running 190 mods now but still the same issue. Should I get 64 bit sv? Is there anything else I can do? My laptop is kinda new, it has 8 gb ram and not a lot of 32 bit apps
