You're likely fine if SMAPI isn't popping any errors. This game does not load quickly, especially modded.

If it's Fruits and Veggies in particular adding that recipe, then you still have old 1.4 Fruits and Veggies files in there

Her entrance will be there, yes, but you won't be able to enter it until you've reached 2 hearts with Juna. (Unless you debug there, of course.)

I mean, if I need to debug the entrance to her house with SVE, might as well try and relocate her house entirely

Yeah, I would have to re-write pretty much her entire schedule, which is already pretty complex, so I think I'll just have to lose those people who don't feel like clearing bushes from the forest (SVE adds so much debris and stuff to the forest! 😭)

Windows NTFS is ... rather fragile in this regards
or, to be precise, the Win32 subsystem is rather fragile
(NTFS itself is robust)

downloading using DepotDownloader is actually enjoyable. Not only do you get to see the progress, it actively tries to recover from errors by hitting various Steam CDN servers (I monitored the network access)
and it's smart enough to do validation + resume-if-interrupted

@outer turret Like Jasper, she has a week where her schedule changes for a week following her 8 heart event. For some reason one of those spawn changes works flawlessly, whereas the other just doesn't (i.e. you need to exit to title or desktop to get her going again). I honestly have no idea why though.

Some of them will sometimes toss out some manifest.jsons, apparently at random
while preferably that shouldn't happen, here's a thought
maybe in the case it does, perhaps the .dll having an internalized version as a backup of sorts might not be a bad idea

Theres a new code for schedules where you can start them with 0 and the char will spawn at that location for that day.

Yeah, I was doing that originally, but changed it back when I noticed the other spawn change working. Might change it back to avoid forcing the player having to exit.
Ah okay. I dont think I had issues with jasper but there might be a day or two delay.
And also I exit a lot while testing.
And yeah, took me a while to realize you had to change both his mainland and island schedule like that to force him to spawn in his tree.
Ditto on the exits a lot. I was so sure I'd solved it, and then I realized I'd more than likely exited without thinking about it.

Yesterday I reported about a weird bug that causes your earnings to go poof and today I tried to manually change the TotalMoneyEarned in the SaveGameInfo. Still doesn't work.

Quick question everyone. I just updated a few mods and now the More Giant Crops mod is flagging as needing assets to load. Specifically this message "[More Giant Crops] You must install an asset pack to use this mod."
But I'm not finding anything missing
check the mod's page, see if it says anything about requirements

more giant crops is basically a framework, from the mod page "This mod doesn't include any crops by default; you need to download the textures you want to use. You can find available downloads by expanding the Requirements section above, and checking the Mods requiring this file list."

anyways yeah validate 32-bit stardew and then copy-paste that. if you're paranoid, back up your 64-bit stardew's Content folder first

Validate your 32-bit Stardew Valley like normal. Then, copy its Content folder, and paste it into your 64-bit Stardew, overwriting its Content folder.

iirc it uses code injection to modify the game and that's why, every SMAPI update, for a few days people's antivirus software throws a fit about SMAPI

i have! because way back in 2018 i used xnb mods and got some...interesting errors
i've heard about the horrors of XNB mods, so i decided it would've been a better idea to just straight up avoid them tbh lmao
there was the corrupted flower pot fiasco that had me trapped on the porch in an MP game due to flowers that only existed in my game, not the host's
and there was the "genderfluid shapeshifting wizard" thing where for some reason i had XNB lady wizard portraits...but the overworld sprites had been content patcher or something???
or i had a backup of those and manually restored it. either way the result was that the wizard looked different in portraits vs overworld sprites
i think some of the dialogue strings had also been replaced by the lady wizard mod, but not all, so they were referred to by both she and he pronouns, but it's been three years so i forgot

one time someone installed an XNB mod and it made a JA mod clash with itself
thank you for the help with troubleshooting it, it's been a thorn in my side for a while but now i was getting to the point where it was actively impeding my progress lmao
and it was one that had added new XNB files, so the Validate Files option was insufficient to fix it
in the end, after a lot of going "WTF" at this and trying really weird things to fix it, someone figured out the problem (it involved having installed the Longevity mod, which is an outdated compatibility nightmare) and told the person to delete their entire Content folder and then revalidate them to make steam download a fresh, completely unmodified, content folder with no extra flowers
XNB mods give some wild errors sometimes
i'm slightly glad that at the time i started playing stardew i didn't have to suffer through that kind of slight inanity lmao
it was a year or two before i decided it was worth looking into trying modded
YEP modding with the SMAPI is so much better than XNB modding
mhm, by the time i decided to look into it SMAPI was already a thing, so
SMAPI was a thing when I started too, but a much less everywhere thing
and stuff like Content Patcher had fewer features
JA still had spritesheet limits so you had to pick between installing PPJA Trees and any other tree mod

you can delete the config.json and relaunch the game to generate a new one

(you get a bunch of stuff of varying value - most of it's cheap stuff, but sometimes you get something worth more than what you paid for the box! and there's such a wide selection, and the boxes usually have quite a few things, so you're likely to get at least one thing you like in there if you pick the right box)
(if you pick the teenage girl box you will probably get at least some makeup, the teenage boy box usually has tech stuff, etc)

further hat details: the name on the box is Wireless Beanie, it's from the Moana Road company, you can find similar stuff by searching Musical Headwear and i called it that because that's what my computer thinks it's called
SVE is pretty op ngl .....
and if the sound vanishes if you have both steam and discord open you need to switch from connecting to the option that says "Headset" to the one that says "Headwear" because sometimes if the mic is turned on it mistakes both steam and discord for phone calls and mutes all other sound

Wizard is kind of a core figure and getting a compatibility patch for another type wizard mod is not an easy thing, unfortuneatly

People overbreed the heck out of pigeons/doves and abandon them in droves :( and lost pigeons often don't get back to their owners because people see a pigeon, even a friendly banded one, and go "wild invasive bird" but that is a domestic!!

I've got a question: I got Customize Exterior. I already had Medieval buildings from gwen installed. If I change the exterior of the farmhouse to a different one, will it revert once a new season begins back to Medieval? Or should I just place all medieval versions in the Building folder of Customize Exterior

They don't have accurate times, unfortunately, I had to wipe my windows install and restored everything. Most of my files updated their last date modified to that time.

@dire fractal @snow prism The good news is, you're not the first person I've seen with that error. The bad news is that it seems to be rare, and none of the affected users so far found a way to fix it (or at least none of them let us know what the fix was if they did).
It seems to be an OpenGL driver issue, but that's about all we know.

this time, i brought along a stack of stuff to buy stuff with
the difference was, that when i had no items to buy anything with at the desert trader, the game froze as immediately as i hit shift + right click
but at the island trader, it froze only after i pressed enter to buy an amount of the item
actually, i bought the wrong amount though
i tried to buy more then the amount i could with the items i'd had
wonder if it works properly if i enter a correct amount

in-game struct now has 4 fields: [0] = price in currency, [1] = current stock, [2] = alternative currency (barter item), [3] = prince in barter item
so all I have to do is to use [3] as price, and search for how many [2] player carries
Gonna investigate.
The stolen fishes is just me adding all the fish I can to a separate personal mod so I can fill the aquarium.
