as one of the people here that does use a mod manager, and does so specifically because it makes keeping on top of updates easy, i would recommend Vortex over Moddrop personally if you are going to use one. ๐

@oblique barn Do you know of a way to migrate my already existing mods into vortex? Or would it be easier to just do that slowly as things update?
Honestly, i'd just set aside your mod folder and just reinstall them via vortex all at once. That way if anything goes wrong, you can always revert to the old mod folder.
It's pretty quick since most mods have a 'vortex' or 'mod manager' button, that you can just click ๐

That's understandable... The next best thing would be to do what you said then, though it may be a bit weird with some things tracked and some not, though.
Make sure there aren't files inside a folder that are a repeat. I had that happen before.
Well SMAPI will let me know when updates are available as well. At which point I can transition them into Vortex
Mods\Mog\cm mog, Mods\music the mods in these folders have the same manifest id i'd suppose @topaz matrix
You may be interested in https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/67 eventually as well, if you happen to have nexus premium. Would essentially let you copy your mod list to your wife's PC and import into vortex automatically. ๐

According to the comments, the version on nexus (xnb version) no longer works, and the unofficial content patcher version someone made (https://community.playstarbound.com/threads/migrating-xnb-mods-to-content-patcher-packs.141577/page-78#post-3313785) also no longer works. :/

Normally when j open it it opens stardew and a SMAPI pop up so I can edit or something and SMAPI is already enabled, how do I open it so SMAPI isnโt also enabling?

When you open it via steam, it is launching with stardewmoddingapi.exe, if you launch stardewvalley.exe, it will bypass smapi. ๐

Not suggestions per se, it's just that sometimes I find it very difficult to even understand what the event in question is
I love being able to check on events per character, expecially if I am trying to advance their storyline,
and check if I am missing a heart event when one is possible
but, I get hung up at times in the checking where one event refers another and another where it seems like I am suppose to know already what I am looking for??
Sorry if I am not making myself very clear, I just find it confusing at times
great mod, tho... my confusion aside.... heart events for multiple characters used to be a bear to keep track of
sort of had to pause everything and go check with Nexus or wiki to see if there was any info

Sorry for the late response to this, but I get the SMAPI pop ups when I open the sdv app through my computer. Would i be able to move my mod downloads to steam to change that somehow? Rn theyโre all in my files like the wiki said to do

Basically all you will want to do is go to your game folder, and in your game folder will be two files "StardewModdingAPI" and "StardewValley", you can just make a shortcut to the StardewValley.exe file, and it should launch without SMAPI
And then you can just launch that whenever you wish to play vanilla.

Sorry for all the questions but could you explain how to get to that specific game folder? If I go to browse files through steam, I can see them next to each other with a ton of other things but am unable to open them because they are for windows. If I go through finder I only see the steam Mac OS launcher and the app icon

Well if youโre trying to get to your stardew valley folder just go to the library in your steam and right click on stardew
Hover your cursor over manage and press browse local files
Everything you need should be there if you are trying to install mods
on mac smapi replaces the StardewValley launcher, but makes a copy of the original launcher with the name StardewValley-original or something like that, maybe using it works to launch native

Try redownloading the mod. Are you using a mod manager?
Iโve seen twice now that renaming your Mods folder on Mac to anything else so SMAPI doesnโt recognize it will prevent it from launching mods until you rename it back. Do you guys think that would work?

might be a bit more convenient
One tip though for anybody else that uses it is that changing the name does create a new empty mods folder you have to delete before changing the name back but thatโs not too difficult to do

Have some fatal errors that made the game unsavable (only for 1 night)
and one error where an entry to "a nexus" was blocked (not being loaded - content patcher "error")

often when you see OOM errors, the rest of the errors are a result of the OOM failures. ๐

no, the way 64 bit stardew works, is that you use the 64 bit installer on top of the linux version of stardew, which transforms it into something runnable on windows.
Because the linux version of stardew is built on something that supports 64 bit, whereas the windows version is not.
So pathos created a clever way to convert it for use on windows. ๐

Get Producer Framework and the other mods.
Also some problems with MonsterGirls and Adopt n Skin in there.
Are you using Vortex?
i used vortex for a bit but it keeped trying to rewrite old files so i stopped using it
Tjere's also a problem in some mod in which Abagial talks about a threesome. XD
MonsterGirls works fine, adopt skin never worked

I gotta bounce, but best bet is install the mods you're missing and reinstall the ones causing errors/missing files.
Make sure you delete them before you extract the new versions.
you can do that and scan through to see if anything is editing Data/Mail or Data/CraftingRecipes
the Slime Potion Brewer mod kind of works but i can't make potions
also, if you use any xnb mods, that's probably it right there--i know the monster girl ones were originally xnb

why? xnb mods can cause all kinds of problems and are most likely the cause of this one. they'll mess with even more 1.5 content if you leave them be
many xnb mods have CP conversions and if one doesn't, it's usually very simple to make one

I can think of, like, one author that only posts on ModDrop. There's a very small number of mods on ModDrop compared to Nexus and most of them are already on Nexus as well. I wouldn't really want to go wading for the handful that are MD-only.

From what I understand of debug commands, you're not supposed to include the <>, those are just used for example purposes. So you would use debug monster RockCrab 100 100 left.

i used to play with grampleton fields, and now when i play with it it lags. removing it makes the game playable(not perfect but way better then what i've got), i threw a lot of effort into making the field usable so, just wondering if there's any possibility that it's something else making stuff unbearably laggy

what version of spacecore do you have?
last i checked, i had a friend having a similar issue. grampleton fields conflicts with content patcher animations for some reason
also grampleton fields is HUGE so you need a very powerful PC to run it without lag

No, it's not a fun dance. The Json Shuffle (or Json Scramble, as it is also known) is what happens when you add or remove a Category:Json Assets mod and then continue playing your save. The IDs of your items are likely to get mixed up (shuffled, if you will) and where once you had a blood orange you might now have a lucky clover or a sword or wh...

Try putting a . in front of the name of that mod folder. That will tell Smapi not to load it without you having to delete it.
Then try loading again and see if you have the same problem.
