yeah, it's easier to configure the controller button to be the native mod hotkey, so if you update the mod and lose the config you don't have to change it

i mean i would prefer to be able to just natively link the right button if possible. i very rarely update mods anyway, dont fix what isnt broken. and if i knew how to properly bind the home/bigbutton then it'd be more usefull for me.
also, i do believe that i figured out the problem. steam controller configurator (when opening via the games option) does not seem to have the middle button configurable.

neither on the ps3 controller gamepad layout, nor on the emulated xbox layout. probably because that button usually opens that xbox window
as a crude workaround i can always use joy2key, sure, but i'd prefer to be able to properly set it if possible

Does anyone have the previous version of StardewHack? Not the most recent, but the version before that. It was just updated and I think it broke a few of my mods
The old versions of mods are typically listed on the nexus page, they're just at the bottom of the Files options
Sometimes mod authors delete older versions though
I don't know if the other version is on there, the last updated version was early 2020 and that version of the mod didn't fix my issue

JA is soooo tempermental
I would let the Downtown Zuzu mod author know about this duplicate. In the meantime, delete the Popcorn folder added by 1 of those 2 mods and then all will be well

I am very happy to have JA, but it does some very weird things at times
I don't blame it freaking out over a duplicate tbh lol I'm just glad it tells you what the duplicate is and which mods are involved now. Before it was just the red wall of death 
and the JA item ID shuffle is something the mod author was looking to fix in JA 2 but that's a long way away
Yeah... the shuffle can be kind of unnerving at times
I have just resigned myself to endless shuffle. I'm always either adding or updating something, lol
I'm using 1.7.3 version to not have JSON Shuffle
I know too ... though I can not give you a precise example... that sometimes a mod conflict that has nothing really to do with JA will send it into convulsions

I had a time like that, tiakall. I took to taking screenshots right before I added / removed a JA mod of the chests and then deleted the shuffled items and spawned them in
It largely only seems to affect stuff in machines and colored flowers for me, so I just sell whatever gets affected and spawn in an item if I really need it.
yea I've been hoarding flowers to make bouquets for Farmer to Florist so I always spawn those back in lol

Walk to the Desert Redux works fine with NPC Map Locations, but your version of NPC Map Locations is corrupted.
You need to completely remove it and reinstall it.

I have a question regarding modded farm maps. If I use a recolor, and a tile isn't showing up as the correct recolor, is that the map mod itself not calling the right item?
the map mod probably has custom tiles which aren't compatible with your recolor
I downloaded the version that is compatible with the recolor I use. It's mostly water tiles. Like the one with two pebbles or something like that. But it's the map mod itself?

I am actively working and improving the mod and it works fine with NPC Map Locations, and several other mods.
Sometimes I would love to find a mod that allow me to have a sort of (search button) in the kitchen, to make more easily to find a food recipe
something like that ^^, so i can find easily the food to cook. because the item that Robin sells workbench lacks of range.

i used that mod that "resets" the terrain once, but everything got worse
reset terrain features isn't updated for 1.5, when did you use it? it won't even load on a 1.5 save
the first and only time i used was before 1.5 and i didnt know it wasn't updated yet.

XNB mods would have told you to install them by dragging files into the game's Content folder

I think that happens after CP has added that file in, and the game thinks the file is there but SMAPI redirects the game there
for the other 2 CP exceptions, the file paths are right, so maybe it's a DLL issue?
This mod works perfectly fine on Windows, this is only a Mac OS issue.

I'd start earlier in the log rather than fixating on the alleged missing XNB. I think the issue is that Tunnel.tmx didn't load properly, which then cascaded the other issues. It's possible that something is up with the filepath listed in Tunnel.tmx that's causing it to look for a file that isn't there.
If it really is Mac specific, I'd guess it's a capitalization inconsistency. Mac is way more strict about the filename capitalization being exact

It's literally a patch file to replace a small section of the Tunnel Map.
To start: I'm not accusing anyone of anything. To me it goes without saying, but I know not everyone is that way. I'm trying to see why the file doesn't want to load in Mac. I'm focused on the problem lol
While I am a complete novice when it comes to map modding, I know certain things have to be tweaked a certain way: tilesheets with the tbin / tmx file while editing. Can yeet them out later. Make sure if you're editing a vanilla map that you reference the same tilesheets.
Macs in particular are more sensitive to capitalization and in general have more quirks than Windows.
Fajita seemed to imply they tweaked the mod files, so I'm asking what they changed.
So there's 3 CP errors, and the first two are looking for:
/Users/[MYNAME]/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Stardew Valley/Contents/MacOS/Mods/WalkToDesert-Redux/[CP] WalkToDesert/assets/Maps/MapPatches/Tunnel.tmx

Ok without any other immediate items standing out, I know there is a character limit for the filepath, and that can sometimes cause SMAPI to not load things properly. I'm not sure exactly what the limit is. Can you test out renaming the mod folder and the CP folder? Doesn't matter to what since it's just a test. Could be WTD-R/[CP] WTD/, to keep it simple

If that doesn't work, btw, I stared at the error again. It seems to not like something in the TMX file in line 18 position 5. From the screenshot Aeywoo posted earlier, it might be a secret hidden character which is apparently a real, terrifying thing.
At that point, you could try editing the TMX file in Notepad, manually count to line 18, which is the first line that has </data>, then delete everything in that line and type in </data> manually.
Or in Mac I believe it's TextEditor rather than Notepad
I've never used Mac OS or even Mac OS X.
I only know about Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, and 10.

Hello, does anyone know if an old version of seasonal villager outfits can still be downloaded? the mod is set to hidden right now and I used to have the old copy (that worked normally) but I deleted it by accident and can't get it back
i believe that "diverse stardew" (on moddrop) has the old seasonal villager outfits bundled in with it. so, in the config, if you pick "vanilla" for a character, they'll have the old seasonal villager outfits.
actually DSV's outfits are pretty much all their own at this point, but it does include seasonal outfits for vanilla villagers

Ok so I found my config/globals.json for NPC Map Locations! Yay, but now I'm having issues editing it. Whenever I make the changes I want (from here: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/articles/99) it resets to the default position each time I launch the title, what gives? Anyone know what I'm doing wrong here. Thanks~

Huh, that's kind of surprising. I can't really think of any others that actively swap around skill stuff like that one does. Capstone exists but only adds a skill onto the end.
There's so.ething about the coop profession that breaks in 64 and the developer has understandibly declared it low priority until 32 bit is stable

can someone help? I tried to cook using the Love of Cooking mod and the food completely disappeared and I didnt have the ingredient anymore...I looked in smapi and i had a ton of errors, did i do something wrong?
will the game not like it if I edit a config file while its running? or will it ignore those changes till next run

you can change it while its running. whether it affects the mod depends on how the mod is made
When I do this, it lags pretty a little bit then works fine

This looks more like a problem with the mod than a problem with your setup (if I'm understanding the error correctly, something requested an item that doesn't exist.) I would try sharing this with the mod maker.

So, what exactly happened was I clicked on Sashimi, put the fish in, clicked cook, nothing happened and the fish was gone.

The first time I tried I only did one and it glitched, when I did a stack the first time (5) it worked but the next time it did the same glitch (same stack size)
since i'm a huge bundle of questions, did you use multiple types of fish in the cooking slots?
also if it's no trouble, could you take a screenshot/photo of your fridge?
I purely only used Sunfish. No different types. And sure, just let me get back on the game.

i think it's high-time i wrapped the entire cooking deal in a finally {} block so people aren't having their ingredients disappear if/when these silly bugs turn up

hehe thanks, it's been a bit of an emotional drain having found/caused all the problems so far, so i'm having to put a lot of focus into trying to keep updates stable, useful, and well-tested.
So, the first attempt of one solo went fine. When I tried to do a stack as the first attempt of that it glitched again.
but at the end of the day there's a lot of edge cases that slip by (last major annoyance was cooking with multi-ingredient recipes with more than one ingredient in the fridge having problems when the last ingredient is consumed and the second-last isnt, which on a technical level i should've seen coming)
oh jeez...sounds so stressful :(

the MACOSX folder doesn't actually do anything on windows: if you've ever seen a desktop.ini file show up in windows, it's the same thing! it's just some info about the folder and your visual settings for it.

it optimizes your game so your game stops crashing because of the OutOfMemoryExeption Error
if you have very little RAM you will get a big lagspike instead a crash

i only have 1.5gb ram for my stardew and it runs 350 mods without crashing
Not all mods would take same amount of space in RAM 
processor and graphics are terrible but I didn't think graphics would make a difference in a 32 bit game
the biggest mods I have are sve, ridgeside, and east scarpe iirc
i could easily squeeze 300-400 new mods if i had an 8gb ram

pretty simple! you'd just be doing basic behaviours again, but mimicking the crab pot checks in your own code to try and interact with your custom craftable, and suppressing input if it's valid

in the config of this mod there's a "when bushes regrow" command - is there any way to make it so that they just don't so I don't have to manually remove every individual bush?

Depends on the mod, but most of the mods wont corrupt anything

Yes you can, but for certain mods you can't uninstall them and use the save after that ( with mods that changes items and that kind of stuff) that gets a little buggy then
Mods like SVE (Stardew Valley Expanded) require a new save, most mods can be installed & uninstalled anytime, some can be downloaded mid-save, but would cause issues if you remove them before certain steps
Specific question, but if you use the "Multiple Spouses" mod and marry a NPC that has a shop, does that NPC go to their shop during the open hours or would they stay at all time in the house?

go into the mods [JA] folder
itll have an Object folder somewhere. open that and itll say the item names
just delete the duplicate ones
i dunno the difference of those specific items so you just have to choose one to keep and one to get rid of
every time you update those mods, try to remember to check for duplicates again as well
