Yeah, there's some comments on the page where people are yelling at him saying he deleted their saves and to report him. The saves were untouched, it was just something with spacecore I believe that yeeted them from the ingame menu

In this case, I fiddled with the files out of curiosity and learned how to make mods with JA. I made the PFM Pack of the mod with Chamomile Tea alone
At the time, I didn't know how to do sprites until I discovered Pixel Studio. Then I met Matt after Oto disappeared and we created Strange Machines Mod together

My question is, or rather my problem is, when I use SMAPI I cannot move or purchase animals without the screen freezing. I discovered regular gameplay doesn't so this, and I also removed every single mod and it still does this through SMAPI

(to clarify, the screen freezing can be escaped from if I hit esc or right click, but it will not allow me to move my cursor at all in that state. Every other animation in the bg still works, like Abigail playing her flute)
I thought perhaps it was a mod I installed, but after troubleshooting with some modders themselves, I actually removed all mods and discovered it was still doing it as long as I ran through SMAPI

Put the smapi folder into the 64 bit one, it'll detect it there

I've accepted that my original file is probably permanently damaged, so I made a new file. I was able to get it to save when I had only SVE and Grandpa's farm mods added, but when I added in my other mods, it gives the same error.

You have latest version EF (Entoarox Framework) installed, try downgrading it. Its latest update causes issues with save loading

I'm using Elle's Seasonal Buildings mod, changed the config to the colours I want but for some reason my two barns are green when my farmhouse and chicken coop are a pale yellow, the ones I wanted...
did you make sure to change the barn color in the config? I accidentally skipped over one of those once

It doesn't, another mod is doing that. (or your game files are old/modified.) Saltcliff only edits the map; it doesn't touch the ui or icons at all. Totally different files.
Also, if you are still getting red text loading up Saltcliff, can you upload a log so I can take a look at it and maybe fix it?

Well there's an issue where animals get assigned short-ID 0, which the mod is convinced isn't a valid ID
so you can't change its skin, you can't sell it, you can't do anything with it, really
I was wondering if there's some way to manually assign IDs
you can do patch summary full to see what's being changed by what

Stardew valley expanded is awesome
SVE majorly alters gameplay though. A&S is a primarily QoL mod (I like those over alters myself). I can send over the beta version that's fit for multi-player if you'd like, since I'm working with someone else on it right now ๐
(it lets you use custom skins to make all your animals look different and neat. The unofficial version that's out also lets you own multiple pets and horses, but is not yet multiplayer-stable)
Depends what you want to do! Make things pretty, different-looking animals/NPCs, more dialog, extra fish...?

id say remove sve completely and try your other mods one by one
cuz its very likely sve is the issue
but if it isnt its going to be hard to figure out since sve has like 600 dependencies that will clutter up your folder

@short perch The last error in your log is an out-of-memory exception. If that keeps happening, using the 64-bit version of SMAPI may fix it. That's in beta, but see the top pinned message in #making-mods-general for more info if you're interested.

so I downloaded an smapi off of nexus mods and then installed it, and it keeps telling me to change steam achievements, but idk how and google searches aren't helping
Ok, I'm asking for help again from anyone who's familiar with PPJA mods, I'm thinking it's the Farmer to Florist mod, but I'm not sure, so... So I have am item on my collection tab called Dried Herbs, but it's not giving me the way to get it when I use Look Up Anything on it. Dried Flowers shows me the machine and item needed, Dried Herbs shows me nothing. Am I missing something? Or is it an item I'll be able to get to later? Usually if that's the case though, the recipe/method is greyed out so...
I'm kinda lost. I'm about to dig through the PPJA mods to see if there's any clue there, but if anyone here happens to know, I'd appreciate any help.

They may say differently, but probably the safest and surest way would be to just check each mod for updates. Just download fresh copies of all your mods, some may not even work now, due to changes in the game. The mod page will tell you when it was last update

@quick crow not really, unless you use a mod manager the easiest way is to upload your smapi log to smapi.io/log so you have clickable links to the mods that need updating

no, it seems to be working as intended. the PFM rule gives it a display name of Dried {inputName}
it's the same for dried flower too though, so not sure why it's not showing the same

Looks like your A Toned Down Stardew is missing files, try deleting the folder and copying it in again.

There's probably more than one, I just don't know which specifically. There aren't any mods that just make the vanilla cellar diggable to my knowledge.

I believe the interior still exists. Exterior was just Elliots cabin but you could move her into the vineyard house if you're not using sVE (it has no interior or door warp)

Iโve been planning on starting a modded playthrough for a while and now that Iโm actually looking into it it seems really overwhelming..
Start small and you will never want to go back i can assure you.
Not that vanilla isnt awesome!. It is. Just that mods add so much more.
What kind of mods were you interested in? My advice is usually to just look at the popular mods on nexus and nab wahtever looks fun to you. Or do you mean installing mods in the first place is overwhelming?

I think itโs just intimidating because I donโt understand it really, but I suppose I should just trust the process and follow the instructions lol
SVE is slightly more intimidating to install, but that's because it has so many requirements.
Basically, the process is just:
- Install smapi
- Get some mods from nexus or wherever
- Extract the mods (they come in zip or rar files) into your mods folder (which is in your Stardew Valley folder)
- Make sure to get any other mods your downloaded mods say are requirements and extract those too
- Run Stardew Valley using the smapi exe
Easy-peasy. ๐
If you can extract a zip file, you can install a mod.
A couple other content mods you might want to look at are Ridgeside Village and Eastscarpe.

Do the mods affect all the save files?
Sort of! Basically, when you run smapi it loads your mods. Your saves may have ojects made from mods or whatever.
If smapi detects that you uninstalled a mod that you have saved data for, it scrubs it. So if you had a modded dragonfruit or something, it would be gone after you uninstalled that mod. (Uninstalling = deleting the mod's folder)
But! To run a vanilla save, you can just run stardew as normal, instead of through smapi.

OR. If youw ant different mods on different saves, you can make different folders for the mods you want, and whichever save you're about to run change that folder to be named "mods"
