back up your save first if you check, because i figure you likely have items in chests

Yeah, I think something messed with either JSON Assets or Content Patcher since removing any other mod does not really solve my issue.

its defiantly handy for that but it usually only show the vanilla npc's unless a mod add the info for other custom npcs
@acoustic talon Ridgeside, SVE, NPC Adventures seem to be the ones to go with there. If you want to automate chores so you have more time to explore, look at Automate or Animal Sitter.
The only mod that adds other NPCs for me is East Scarpe, and I know that one's not a problem.
smapi does show a lot in the log if you look at it under trace. We could turn on options in smapi to have it record even more detail but i'm not sure if it'll help or not

So I removed two mods "Friendsforever" and "no fencedecay" and installed "CJB Cheat" as well as installed your fix. So far it seems much smoother, less lag. I did, however get 2 freezes, tho they seemed better than before.
First freeze as in my house, was on my way out of the door after having started a new day.
The second one was on the farm, it happened right after I smashed a small rock with my pickaxe around 8:50-9:00 AM.
Waiting for a good day to venture into the mines as I had some freezes there I remember.
(by freezing, I am talking about a short hiccup/interruption. It lasted about a second, usually they last 2-3)
Delays when leaving the house first thing is not to unusually as I believe some of the cp patches don't update until then..

I know SMAPI has made a way for it to work. But could it be due to using sub folders? I have all my main mods in the root mod folder, but SVE and the mods it depends on are in a separate folder.
Right so managed to get into the mines, no freezes, but some slowness out of combat and suddenly some slowness around Robin's house.
If the mod comes in a folder with multible folder in you should likely leave them that way
they didn't. I rearranged them like that
I've heard having Automate and a bunch of machines can cause lag maybe compounded with other issues like a slower computer.

Custom Farming and it's automate counterpart are not supported anymore. I'm not sure of when they were last updated. Most mods use Producer Framework Mod (PFM) now.

When it comes to modded farms, do the maps change with mods like starblue and such? Or does the mod author need to make compat versions for retextures like that.

That's odd, because I don't have either SVE or NPC Map Locations and I still have this lag.
I've just downloaded and moved into my mods folder the Life Cycle mod and the residential map too. I have RSV installed too so downloaded the RSV compatible map, but it doesn’t seem to be showing up in-game? Is there something I'm missing?

Any of them, really. Maybe the flower first?
Pretty much all of them require you to ship the previous crop a certain number of times. For the flower, you need to ship the only ancient crop you have access to at the moment.
Also the seeds will never be sold anywhere, so you'll need to use the seed maker to keep growing them.

There is a mod called Magic, but outside of that, it's mostly decorations. There is also an Arcane Tools mod that renames and recolors the tools to appear as spells though

The full log would be more helpful. That's just the spouse room not loading probably because the tilesheet is loading after the file which means its not finding it.
Parsing it to smapi.io is much more useful

Hi, regarding the DSV issue, it's a bug with Sebastian's changed glasses & piercings code (and Harvey's wedding sprite). We'll have an update out as soon as possible, but it can be safely ignored if you're not using Seb's glasses or piercings options or planning to marry Harvey

Hey, I'm having trouble with a mod not disabling a feature where it changes the appearance of the inside of cabins. I've tried just deleting the section from the content.json but it's still showing up.

Are the Ridgeside/SDVE things like...worth it? I recall expanded conflicted with a lot of my mods and I want the new endgame stuff (havent played since 1.3) but like....I can't just plow through vanilla AGAIN. Ive got a real chutzpah block. Are they quality enough to be a reasonable facsimile or are the npcs just...bland
I wouldn’t say SVE conflicts with a bunch of mods. If there’s any specific conflicts, let me know.
Overall I've found SVE to be pretty cross compatible.
My only issue as an indeoendent NPC creator is festivals and festival postions specifically and RSV is actually more problematic there since they add 24 NPCs into the mix.
So far it seems the 64-bit version of SMAPI is doing well too. Nearly all my mods are compatible except for East Scarpe.

haha some cp mods still have xnb in them, as long as you didn't drop anything into the actual game files, you should be fine

xnb literally replaces game files, hence issues breaking it
SMAPI warns you if a mod is a XNB, and your log didn't tell any so probably it's not the issue

i had a fix in with East Scarpe (cos they were both released at the same time using the same warp point) so I just adjusted it when we moved ES's entrance north and SVE's south
he's actually got a very emotional storyline

some people don't want to deal with the extra work it takes to make it sve compatable, which.. it's a lot of work, can't blame them... so you'll need to make sure it's compatable
props to you modders, sve or not.. the amount of work ya'll do is amazing

so, the one in the butterfly screenshot with twin braids is from alicedafox's hairstyles (a get glam pack, which i think is linked in the comments on the original mod's nexus page), and the one in the tree screenshot, with the visible hair ribbons, is from ace's hairstyles pale (pale specifically to be able to actually get pink, and not the weird dark magenta from vanilla)

I think it depends on the mods. Some NPCs are more well developed than others. And just so you know, Jasper adds dialogue to Marlon, Gunther, and Dwarf.
lucikiel adds dialogue to most vanilla npcs, and his heart events are art.
I'm not hugely fond of single NPCs that add an entire new area just for them. I feel if you're building a house, you should share it 🙂

If you had an upgraded mayo maker and it used oil to start the machine then used eggs. If you put oil into the machine then found out it took the wrong eggs from your inventory. Would that upset you?
I mean.. if I put oil in the machine, wouldn't I just be adding a certain egg?
Anyone using the Flower Valley mod? Is there a way to turn off their building redesigns? I still love the extra flowers they add in the bushes and everything, but I want the regular buildings back.
it would def be difficult if the wrong egg was taken, especially if I'm saving a certain egg for certain things
when I used it, I found the buildings I wanted, and just put the images for them where flower valley has them

it would take either duck eggs or void eggs. But if the machine is told to start with oil its going to take which ever eggs is last or first in the users inventory and the user might not have control of that

So I'm trying to figure out why a mod I'm using has completely removed the special orders board from appearing, and I've isolated that one of the map files has to be causing the issue, but after that I'm totally stuck. The board's basically entirely gone save for the little exclamation mark showing there's something new there, and I can't interact with where it's "located" so it's not just an invisible object. I don't know where the interactable(?) board is irt the original game files/map (I know where the texture is, but I'm currently looking at the map in Tiled and don't see anything), and I'm kinda at my wit's end looking for how to fix this. Nobody in the mod's comments seems to be having this problem, or at least hasn't mentioned it, so I'd appreciate any help I can get here.
I know Flower Valley has that problem, which has been reported in their bug report. I'm using it myself, but haven't ran into that problem

@dire fractal i have an issue with the spouse areas at times cutting off other mods i use. try to reinstall it. or uninstall and reinstall completely. its what ive had to do a couple times to fix it. and smapi does the same for me. doesnt notify of any errors

difference is i have hold to pause and discord rpc, other friend doesn't have these mods and doesn't have these issues
i tried to make sure mods are 100% same, no difference
this only allows event timeout, not joining timeout
Might be worth popping into #vanilla-tech-support then. There's no timeout mod that I know of but my mod wizard knowledge has failed me before

also this happened after they got their internet randomly cut off so i thought maybe their save is corrupted? but can't be, tried to erase her character from save and still loads too long

Befriend mod creator here (I got super busy with stuff at college and basically abandoned it for a while). I updated it to work with 1.5 so it should work fine now, although it's not compatible with SVE still and I don't think I can fix that as they both edit the same maps.

So I pulled the Multiple Spouses mod from my install to make sure it wouldn't break the save if I ever do pull it later. Results were.. interesting.
Emily & Haley are still flagged as waifus with 11 hearts but Emily's the only one who has a room and presence, and I had to change out the bed - the appearance was back to normal, but the walkmesh was still busted until I swapped to another one.
Seems that things are running normally.

after finishing this my game no longer loads up. the icon appears, steam says running but nothing happens until eventually the icon disappears and steam says “play” again. i uninstalled smapi but that didn’t seem to fix anything. i also have verified the integrity of the game files and had no luck with that either :(

@topaz matrix I don't really understand it, but the author of that mod did not put it in correctly for the mushroom box recipe. I ended up deleting the Friendship requirement in the config.json to get the recipe and the mushroom boxes to appear in the shop.
