Do both people need to have the same mods downloaded in multiplayer to play together? I have seasonal outfits mod but my bf wants to play with the regular outfits for a while
visual mods (and dialog mods) are specific to whoever has them installed. So you can have it installed while he doesn't

I used to play before 1.5 released with an alright amount of Moddrop and Nexus Mods. Although, the issue I seem to be having here is unrelated to all of those and is more for SMAPI itself so I was wondering if anyone here knew what the issue could be for this. I've verified game files already and got the same error handle.
Does anyone know of a mod that insta grows trees with a button? I thought CJB used to have a feature like this but I can't find it.

I've only seen two more errors like this on the internet.
Both relating to moddrop
ModDrop doesn't fully update SMAPI. You can download and run the SMAPI installer yourself to perform a full update to fix that (then you can continue using it through ModDrop if you want).
Does NPC Map Locations still need the SVE version to work with the mod?
I think the main version works with SVE now.

i cant seem to match the grass and dirt for my recolor for the town sheet :( how would i copy a whole layer and keep its settings in gimp?
did u make sure it's not pulling from the outdoors tilesheet for whatever area you're missing? the town map using both the town sheet and the outdoors one, so you have to recolor both
i already recolored the outdoor tilesheet ;p im saying i cant get the colors to match and im using masks so i was wondering if i could copy the layers and their settings somehow

they are only "texture packs", i don't get why it would crash randomly

no idea, you can try reporting the bug on nexus, or maybe straight to paradigm themself
Is it crashing crashing or Windows thinking it crashed? SVO wouldn't be causing a crash, it's just a content pack so there's not really a way it can crash especially without errors.
SVO takes awhile to load (and awhile to load into the game). Sometimes Windows gets confused and thinks the program stopped responding when it just needs some time.

Humor me and try it without ImagEd? Looking at your log https://smapi.io/log/4272bdab1c894b25a8f77fb7bd380a1f you have that mod installed as well. It's just a "nice to have" for SVO and not required.
What's the visual difference without ImagEd?
Gunther, Birdie, & Professor Snail will have set outfits for seasons/randomized rotation rather than picking between one of the 6 random colors.

hello, I have bug that happen after i update smapi and spacecore, I play using PC steam with the last 1.5 update, I was using Rustic Country Walls and Floors mods from dustbeauty for such a long time but this just happen for this several days, I can't replace the wall and floor anymore, I buy the wallpaper and Click to the wall but nothing change.. so the one that left on my farm was the last wallpaper and floor that I place there. If some of you also using this mod, may I ask is it also happen to you or just me... and is there any way to solve it?

@edgy trail that's quite the log. Chrome is angry and broke my connection to smapi, it seems. You're using the rustic country walls and floors with custom walls and floors redux and not just the content patcher version, correct?

I didn't find any errors before I lost the ability to connect to smapi.io, but my guess (from comments on nexus) is that custom walls and floors is only sort of working anymore.

We could also see if we can find something in a smaller log (like load game -> just get to the point of trying the thing that breaks -> exit -> upload log). I think the raw amount of logging from playtime might be why smapi's struggling, if that was after playing for a bunch of days or something.

my game crashed again, without SVO and ImagEd, but this time i know why.
everytime i enter/leave a region (coop, beach, barn, house) my ram usage increases and never goes back down. so it must be a memory leak

Are you on the most recent smapi and content patcher? 3.9.2 has some memory optimization work specifically to try and deal with things OOM-ing, I think.

Yep, try disabling aggressive memory optimization and see if the error still happens. I'd be interested in a copy of the save + Mods folder and repro steps so I can look into the error though.

ahh sadly its not fixable atm, it happens usually when adding new JA mods/updating, so unless you remembered what was in those chests to be able to cheat the stuff back in, just sell everything thats swapped/not normal since the price doesnt change, it'll still have the sell price of the original

SMAPI can run natively in linux. The only other time I've seen proton mentioned in here someone was having trouble with directory detection, I think, but that's super anecdotal.

There's been some ongoing memory issues for OOMs. 3.9.2 is attempt (one?) at fixing it, but it's ongoing work I think.

Not really. If you want to try without the memory optimizations SMAPI's config.json (in stardew/smapi-internal) has a toggle for it, but if your issue is that you're OOM crashing that would probably just make you blow up faster.

I put them in a separate file... OH I named the file I put it in Stardew Valley, but it's in a separate folder called Mods that's in my Documents

You extract that somewhere temporary, like your desktop, then run the install script for your operating system, after which the installer can be deleted. 🙂

and SMAPI will manage the files it generates - don't try to reorganize them inside the stardew directory after the installer runs, as it puts them where they need to be for it to run

there shouldnt be a mods folder yet since smapi makes it, so if youre giving it that path you need to remove \Mods

soo i downloaded smapi succesfully and have downloaded a couple mods, but when I try to open the game I get a steam notif saying it can't find the specified path. I'm pretty sure I pasted the right thing: "D:\ProgramFiles(x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\StardewValley\StardewModdingAPI.exe" %command% . Anyone know what might be up?

@limber sand the content patcher warnings I think are just due to the bathroom recolour possibly using too old a content patcher format (or too new of one without setting the content patcher version properly).
The actual error is a great generic "I tried to find something I was told to and it was null". Did this happen during startup or after actually doing some stuff in game? At a guess something in a content patcher animations pack is busted. 😐

You could try disabling them one at a time (just put a . at the beginning of the directory name and it'll skip loading) until the error goes away, then you'll know probably which mod is causing the issue.

If the bathroom mod has animations that's a good place to start. The CP warnings that fields are invalid could be it thinking it's prepped stuff for use that isn't available at all by the time CPA trots over to use it.

If you're trying to color match, have you tried getting in-game with only the base texture, so you can overlay outside the game and see the proper in-game result?

I've concluded that yes, Content Patcher Animations does not work with the latest SMAPI (which is 3.9.4) I just installed it.
I installed the latest CPA and it kept giving me the error
As soon as I took it out of my folder it fixed
I only used one mod that needed it
and I tried that mod first
So yes, it is not working on latest SMAPI

Yeah it was just drawing frames outside of the fridge animation. Regular chests have 5 frames, but fridge only has 3.
It's because in the last update I added configurable animation frames so that content packs can choose to animate more/less frames, but I didn't set the default for the Fridge to work correctly.
I'm also experimenting with new animation effects for a future update

You'll probably have more luck asking somewhere related to the mod manager itself. As a guess if it's windows and <whatever it's trying to do> involved a stardew install under the C:/Program Files, you may need to tell Windows to give your user full control of the Stardew install directory.

On the final loading stretch. But my fix will disable the shipping bin from chests anywhere completely, you'll have to walk up to it or craft a mini-shipping bin to do it from anywhere.

you also have this incompatibility Two content packs want to load the 'Portraits\Gunther' asset (OhoDavi's StardewValley Anime Mods and Stardew Valley Expanded). Neither will be applied. You should remove one of the content packs, or ask the authors about compatibility.

Mostly out of curiousity, has anyone come across a decent Wilderness farm map replacer? There's tonnes for the other farms but not so much for wilderness, at least that I've seen.
How will i downdate mods? I'm having a problem of Json Assets and PyTK and if one of them is placed in the mod folder earlier than the second one, the second one i placed won't work

I'm personally not sure what it means when a mod complains about the target area being outside of the bounds of the target texture, but it seems like a lot of CP mods are having that issue.
There's this error as well:
Two content packs want to load the 'Buildings\Stable' asset (Overgrown Fairy Buildings and [CP]Yellog's wood buildings). Neither will be applied. You should remove one of the content packs, or ask the authors about compatibility.
Meaning you should pick one or the other mod.

I'd try what was mentioned above first. Not sure if that mod is fully compatible with SDVE or any other mods you might have, but it's definitely up to date.

- Paste the path and edit it so it's like;
