the sand makes craops grow faster

Sometimes there's a typo in the manifest.json version number
It's harmless, but if you want it to go away, you can edit it yourself using a text editor like Notepad

the Tractor mod page has a link to documentation that explains the config options in detail, that may help o:
edit the mod settings to change controller/keyboard/mouse mapping, the area of effect, tractor speed, custom tools, how much the tractor costs, etc;

Hey, all. I have a SVE, Ridgeside, and Boarding House all installed with NPC map locations. For the life of me, I can't seem to get them to play nice. Ridgeside shows up on my map, but even after visiting remains "???". NPC's have their locations shown when they are in the original areas, but don't show up in Ridgeside. Boarding House doesn't show up at all. Does anyone know how to get them to work together, or do they just not work?
ridgeside has a working npc locations mod on its discord server, compatible with sve. boarding house has always been odd for npc locations >.>
the map itself seems to show, but not the npcs. and the patch to show npcs is fiddly. on the other hand, the npcs barely move, so you can find them easily XD

Maybe it's not Mizu's flowers I guess? I just know that the problems stopped after I removed that mod (and all the things that used it)

there might be more duplicates but my browser can't handle the log very well so i can't look for them, but if they exist they'll show up on the next log though
if ja detects one duplicate, it stops checking and causes every item to fail in loading. so the only thing to do really is to keep loading smapi to check for the next duplicate unless you manage to spot it in folders XD
or well, apparently they might not even show there in the first place

There's a bunch of expansions that work with SVE - Ridgeside, East Scarpe, Boarding House, Lunna Astray, Deep Woods if you want a forest equivalent to the mines (no new NPCs in this one, just a new area)

not that i know of, sorry. other than loading a file and see what's missing or causing red text in smapi
you could maybe check your nexus download history for around the time of the save (though that won't help much if you've updated those mods since then, as it only tracks your last download of them)

@verbal tapir I'd guess contentpatcher is angry about a specific patch, maybe start by disabling CP packs one at a time to see which one is (probably) causing the error? If you click the trace button above the log but below the mod list on smapi.io you can see what it was working on before and after that error, which might help point you in the right direction

Hi all, I'm slowly getting closer to getting SVE working on Android. I've downloaded older versions of mods and followed the instructions for SVE, but the console floods with errors the second I try to run SVE. Can someone make sense of this, please?

can't seem to get the adventurers guild even to trigger, and debug ebi 1000034 isn't force-spawning the event like it used to.
when i try debug ebi 1000034, it says [console commands] sent debug command to the game, but there was no output.

That message is normal. The event should start shortly playing after you enter the command
You can confirm the ID though, if you check the ID spreadsheet in the pins in #making-mods-general

Is there a way to upgrade an existing chest to a larger one? Really don't want to have to redo my categorization of all these seed chests once I have access to bigger chests.
it's the initiation event after you kill 10 slimes. I kill the slime, get the pop-up that says 'you killed slimes go to adventurers guild'. I go to the guild, head inside, it acts for a second like the event's going to play, then the 'quest complete' noise happens and I'm just inside the adventurers guild, no event.

Expanded Storage + the Vanilla Expanded Storage content pack is one option. I use the OP version so all my chests (and the fridges for that matter) can hold as much stuff as I want. I partly got it for the infinite storage but partly so I don't have to recategorize later, like you mentioned
I may end up doing that. I have them both installed, but don't have the infinite storage option set up at the moment.
If I'm getting a message that the TMXL Map Toolkit is no longer compatible (even though I tried the latest ver. From Mod Drop and Nexus), is that a compatibility with SMAPI? Android has an older version of SMAPI at this time

I've been using Time Speed so I could also change the base rate at which time moves to begin with - Not sure if Android friendly or not.

Mod authors sometimes forget to update the manifest. So even if you're using the up-to-date version, Nexus will think it's wrong. If you're sure that you have the most recent version you can just open the manifest.json and change the version number to whatever the version number SMAPI wants and it'll stop complaining at you.

If you are positive they are the most recent version than it's just a problem in the manifest and you can change the version number inside there yourself.

I was running Capitalist Dream Farm but I've found it a little too big for my liking
Start a new save. That's the best way. Otherwise you will probably get errors and/or parts of your farm showing up in the void

That cat scarecrow mod you're trying to use is an XNB mod. There is a PNG file you can use from it but you would have to make your own CP mod to actually use it. Or you can go to the comments section of the mod page and I see someone linked to a CP version they made. Download that.
As far as the cursor set question goes, you don't say which one it is but I would encourage you to look for a CP version of whatever that mod is if you don't have it already. CP mods take care of the work for you by patching in the image that you want instead of using the original game's file

I don't think it would hurt to try it and if it's broken quit without saving?
It can, yes, because trees/branches/stumps/rocks etc that might be there can go in the void too and potentially cause problems. You can give it a try if you want to, but generally if you want to switch farm maps it's best to just start a new save

If you can't find a CP version, your best bet is to make your own CP mod to do this. It's actually quite easy to do so, but this isn't really the channel to talk about that. You can look at the making-mods channel if you're serious enough to learn how to do it yourself

If you log what you've got, you lose nothing - just use CJB Item Spawner to bring it back.
If you're running a lot of JA mods to add items, there's a chance when you add a new one that it messes with item ID numbers. Since those numbers are saved and tell the game what an item is, if you're unlucky, you could suddenly find your items turning into something else entirely.
or when you update the mod
There's supposed to be something in the JA mods to help protect against that, but it's not perfect.
I think I'll just avoid adding too many items
I've recently lost a few things just from 2 existing mods adding JA items during updates. I wish I had kept track of my items before that happened so I could've spawned them but I just couldn't remember what they originally were. Luckily it was fish in both cases so I can recatch them later.

That's part of the reason I'm not downloading Cotton right now. She looks cute but JA items keep getting added. Gonna wait until she's further along in development so hopefully the JA hit only happens once

@dire fractal well if you download smapi, the mod installer for the game, you can download the apk version of the game, which you can download mods off of nexus onto. The problem is as we're on mobile we can't get a lot of the mods, as they're updated for 1.5

I started a new save after the update myself. It might be that he's programmed to not show up until day 5 in the base game, since that's when the mines normally open.

Those were added in the most recent update. I imagine it was something left behind by Trent for something he's working on for a future update. It doesn't seem like they do anything right now. I didn't do anything with them and just left them there just in case it matters, but like I said - don't think it does

The modern stuff feels so super easy in comparison. I just have a bad relationship with the way manuals are written sometimes.

SVE doesn't move them, but if you have NPC Jasper the dwarf does move until you've either seen one of jasper's events or learned dwarvish. then they return as normal

Launching SV like from the folder thing opened up vanilla like they said, hopefully coop works from there
You can launch from Steam vanilla if you remove the launch options
You can also just create an empty Mods folder and have a modgroup for like Mods (empty hehe) and that way you don't have to mess with the Steam launch options
I'm not sure why having SMAPI installed with a vanilla mod group wouldn't work but I haven't played multiplayer

Hi! I was wondering if anyone could help me? Recently, I can only get max three days in and by the third night when I go to bed, I get stuck on the saving screen. This has never happened before and I've always had a lot of mods. I think it started after the 1.5 update, since it was always fine before, but I updated all my mods when they each got updated. I think I just realized that the ppja mods havenโt had updates recently when I usually have to update them at least once or twice a month.

Hello. I wasn't able to test it out earlier, but when I did, it still gives me the same errors. CJB Item Spawner also ends up not working after trying to reopen the game after the game won't load. It was doing this before I changed the SMAPI to the alpha version, too.

So I downloaded the Sailor Moon Hairstyles Clothing and Kimono mod, which then required me to download Json Assets, which then also required me to download SpaceCore. I did download the 3 and I also do have SMAPI and Content Patcher, but every time I load it, there's an error saying that Json Asset isn't found. I did extract the files. So I really don't know what I did wrong.. :(((

So you can use Multiple Spouses if you want, which I assume you'd wanna do, if you wanna date more than one NPC
do the mines have special rules for custom music? my config sheet is formatted in the same way for all songs and it works with normal map themes, just not for the mines at all
I'm using it, with the Cannabis Events mod. Got me a row of hemp and another of generic Cannabis, the first event for it happened for me today and the law was officially passed. I am getting the not found strains issue, but most of the strains at least are showing in game (haven't hunted for the "missing" ones). I don't know if it's necessary anymore but I changed it so Khadija's sells the seeds (Cannabis Events says to use Sandy, but I haven't gotten to the Desert yet).

See I know nothing about the original Nagito. But the character is very wholesome. Also @eternal orbit East Scarpe will have some new faces soon! We are working hard behind the scenes. Currently you get Jacob and Eloise with it, and can add Beatrice and Nagito. It was designed as a place where people could put NPC families instead of patching maps randomly all over the place. Alas it has taken a while to grow in reach.

Yeah, that's what I meant. That's the one thing making me hesitant, it's a little too close to the main map for such a tonal shift from Way Back.
The buildings are mostly based on vanilla, but are modified and loaded separately. So it won't match with mediaevel SDV for example.

as for out of memory issues, since stardew is a 32 bit game, it's got a hard limit of 3-4gb of ram usage. so memory intensive mods like sve, rsv, svo/dsvo, and custom music are difficult to run all together at the moment. and there is that suspected memory leak that pathos is trying to track down
The only mods I added today were Flower Dancing, Chargeable Axe and Pickaxe, and Better Junimos; maybe one of those crossed the line for my system, since I was able to save earlier today before installing them.
That reminds me, I need to go tell the custom music NOT to pre-load.

Just go into the music packs manifest file and change preload from true to false. Not config.

go into sve's custom music component; you won't find it in custom music itself, but in the mods that add their own music
XD yeah the only reason to go into a manifest would be to change the version number, or occasionally a dependency's unique id if there's an update like with krs and chocolatier.

careful with bug net. do you have the pytk and spacecore bundle on spacechase's discord? 'cos if not, you're going to run into a pytk/spacecore conflict that doesn't allow you to save if you have the bug net item. you'll need to trash it each night

bug net itself shouldn't give memory errors, but the pytk/spacecore conflict with bug net would prevent saving. you could very well have two sets of errors occurring at the same time with your mod loadout.

just the [pfm] component of fresh meat, which is optional
you can keep every other component of the mod, which will allow you meat to cook and meaty recipes

no. the source code for pytk on github is two versions behind, and that's what other modders have to go off to suggest edits. for an update to pytk or the source code, we have to wait until platonymous returns

no disable schedule changes in the immersive shane mod, not sve. (the main schedule change in immersive shane is kinda covered by sve's dynamic schedules)
