I have a lot of HC for who my farmer is and I’m definitely trying to still fix up my game to make it fit with the story I have in my head

my autistic self misses so much with body language and tone nuance and stuff >.> i need to have it spelt out for me to properly get the plot twists anyway, and my enjoyment comes from seeing how it's done, and learning what all the personal nuance means/indicates

huh, i have the farm expansion mod, and i'm just using it for better mixed seeds crops. the crops on my main farm that i planted from their actual seeds have always been free of ja shuffle. including ginseng and spinach. but on farm expansion map, and better mixed seeds, what looks like ginseng and spinach have shuffled.

The game only checks the time every ten minutes, right? There wouldn't be any point in setting the time for notifications to 6:01 (so they would pop up as soon as I leave the house)?

i tried creating a new game and i skipped the prologue but then the "saving" text appeared and it keep "saving" infinitely
uses noclip for a forageable
sve moves the guild and the mines to a new mountain summit map. just go where the mines are in vanilla and you'll see a path and sign post

rofl XD i just got the ulysses npc, and apparently his room (in the saloon) has a warp/portal to the wizard's tower, so now everyone who goes to the saloon enters via the portal. going aaaaaaaaaaaaaaall the way to the wizard tower first XD

npc pathfinding is fragile when warps are involved, though this is only the second time i've ever seen it XD
if i understand it correctly it sounds like it creates a circular path for npcs, which does that

i tested only on chickens
(caught up after sleeping) I helped out Younan yesterday and frankly at this point they may need to start dumping mods. If they only have 2GBs of RAM - even if they are running nothing but SDV - the operating system is using some of that 2GB. So is Steam if they are playing the Steam version. UI Info Suite is probably fine, but large expansion mods like RSV and SVE might just be not in the cards for them. Maybe ONE of the two might be OK, they'd just have to dump one and try.

Some mods let you edit key bindings, which are controller/keyboard/mouse buttons which do something in-game. This page explains how to configure them. (This works for any mod using SMAPI's standard APIs.)

Is that an NPC that uses Portraiture? I had no portraits showing until I (FINALLY!) figured out how to make Portraiture stuff show up. I swear I read and did what it said, but it still made me feel like an idiot for a while. 
i don't think she is. marigold is linus's dog from diverse stardew, and dsvo doesn't list portraiture as a requirement.
also, i can get marigold's portrait from her woofing at me, but i guess loved birthday gifts are hardcoded happy expressions and marigold might only have one expression

Ah, OK! Just curious since that was my no portrait issue very recently. It happened when I installed Ulysses - I knew it needed Portraiture but it was rough figuring out how to make it work. But yeah, from your issue it sounds like maybe they haven't made enough portraits for Marigold.
also what is the pet bed? like what's its function :o
I do find it hilarious when animal NPCs suddenly talk like people during certain times, like when you give them a gift. 😆
that said, i did finally download portraiture for ulysses. i haven't had issues with portraits since save marigold's, but now i won't be surprised if there is an unintended quirk XD
No idea what the bed is for myself disco spider. I don't recall ever seeing it anywhere and my pets just sleep on the ground outside (during the day) or in my bed (at night)

If you enable the no cuddle puddle option it will make some pets go sleep on the floor elsewhere in your house
My dog frequently sleeps on the bathroom floor. Doesn't it get cold on the tile? 
But before I enabled no cuddle puddle it was difficult to get in bed because they'd all be on top of each other
it's for the animals that are available for adoption at marnie, not functional in any way as far as i know

I haven't gotten far enough to see horse strays, but for dogs and cats you just go to Marnie's and she'll have a random dog or cat there you can choose to adopt by clicking on it. It just costs 1000 gold

Oh that's nice to know that happens (sorry it happened for you though!). I don't know if you can but you could always at least switch your current horse's skin to be what you had before. I don't know if you can change animal names, but if you liked the old name I guess you can try to adopt another wild horse if you find it and name it the old name?
the original horse might still be somewhere. have you tried using the corral_horses command on the smapi console to see if that makes it appear at your stable?

I don't know what I would do for a crop mod because I feel like any crop I could possibly want right now exists, but if I did a recipe mod I would make one for Japanese recipes. I lived in Japan for several years and frequently cook Japanese food even now because I enjoy it. There's some mods that add Asian food, but there's still a lot of things I can think of that aren't included in those. Recipe mods seem easy enough to make, it's just the sprite work that's difficult for me
I want to go to Japan so bad... But I have social anxiety really bad and I would be terrified of accidentally offending someone.

there's a bug in (what I presume is) grandpa's shed where if you have casks in it, every time you start up the save file it takes off a day from their processing time, and it got to the point where when I had originally staggered them with my basement casks (spring 1, summer 2, fall 1, winter 2) they now almost overlap
the only reason this is a problem is if they happen to overlap on the day they need harvested, im screwed

You can't mod for any console without breaking their ToS. You have to do PC or Android for modding
Depends on how the mods (and game) work. Considering Fallout and Skyrim, you can definitely allow modding on consoles. But Sony and Microsoft have very different rules for what can and can't be done for modding (Microsoft is infinitely better for modding those games than Sony is). I don't know enough about modding or console TOSes to know how viable it would be for Stardew. (As far as I know, Switch is right out, because Nintendo just isn't having it.)
It really needs to have active developer support for it (and collaborating with the hardware maker) for it to work. Fallout and Skyrim only work because Bethesda worked it out with Sony/Microsoft to make it OK. Generally the hardware makers do NOT want any sort of custom software on their hardware because of them missing out on software licensing fees and strictly make things like mods against ToS 99% of the time.
Ah. Fair enough. I don't get too far into details because I know nothing about mods, and know I have better mod options on PC one way or the other.
(I mean, I'm getting better at translating errors and I can install mods just fine, but I still can't begin to comprehend how people make mods at all.)

I've been working on a personal mod recommendations document since I occasionally get asked. It's comprehensive, sorta similar in style to Lenne's I guess but done completely my own way. I've been working on it for the past several hours, have done 4 pages, and I've only done 2 categories' worth of mod types.
Think I need to stop and continue this another day. I feel like I'm in school writing a paper again and I don't miss those feelings!

A lot of time-related mods are not working for 1.5. Which one are you trying to use?
A lot of mods are not compatible with that type of save function, so something else could be breaking it.

It like works while I'm playing, but I just haven't finished a cycle to see if it continues and saves that way. I haven't tested this on the CJB Cheats Menu functions either (finishing a day cycle to see if it saves it that way).

You can just start a splitscreen instance of your game, and essentially join yourself

I think so. It's a larger expansion-style mod that adds in more NPCs, more locations, and more things to do

even after several refresh of the list, but when i closed the mod manager and relaunched it a couple hours later iv got those things
we recommend fully manual install and avoiding mod managers, especially because SDV modding is pretty simple. If you absolutely want a mod manager, we recommend ModDrop over Vortex because Vortex is quirky with SDV.
i use the mod manager just to enable and disable conflicting mods, not to install

it's possible to turn off individual mods by renaming the mod folder with a period in front, like .ContentPatcher. You can also get modgroups going if you want multiple mod profiles

It won't corrupt your save. It is fine to use it.

but mod managers aren't really required for SDV
Danny just make sure you downloaded all of the requirements for it too. On Nexus if you click requirements you need everything in the section that says Nexus requirements. You do NOT need anything under mods requiring this file (anything past Winter Grass)
its just for ease of use, this mod manager doesnt do that much
since you mentioned it's not Vortex and it's a different mod manager, you could try asking in the mod page for that, see if the author can help.
But I mentioned above alternative ways to turn off mods as well
Apparently Winter Grass is also not a hard requirement. I'm actually running a different mod that has other features and also keeps the grass up in winter and don't have WG installed at all.

yep, Winter Grass is not actually mandatory. I'm not using it either. I'm using More Grass + a content pack for it instead. I wish they'd mark it as optional for SVE
honestly not sure why they even list it at all, other than potentially for looks

spacecore cleans up after itself and Json Assets (JA), just have to uninstall the content packs, load, save, then uninstall spacecore/JA. SMAPI also keeps a backup of your save, and you're able to make your own backups as well

That's a warning you'll see with Spacecore and Pytk which many mods depend on
Essentially, you need it for another mod to work. If you get rid of it, the mod might break and corrupt your game.
In order for spacecore/PyTK to do their thing, they need to modify the way the game saves/loads data

I explained earlier that if you want to uninstall spacecore / JA or related content packs, uninstall the content pack first, then load save and then uninstall spacecore/JA

that's really the only time it matters, when you want to uninstall
You can remove it if you remove the mods requiring it, but it's incredibly useful and used by a bunch of mods so it's mroe convenient to just keep it
Their mods would not be possible without that, SMAPI warns you of the risk, but it's a risk that many choose to take since so many mods depend on it

There's decorative bushes (which I think is what you're calling static?) and there's bushes that actually produce fruit. People have a mix based on preference. The game itself uses both
Some folk might argue it would be unbalanced if every bush produced fruit, others still might argue immersion, idk
Considering the wines that can get made from JA shuffle, it could potentially be lethal.

Look like it's all one mod, all duplicated for another. All but one is Espresso Machine Foods duplicating Artisan Valley Machine Goods, and the other is Fresh Meat mimicking Espresso Machine foods, so getting rid of Espresso should solve all of those errors in one swoop (and at least one other error)

You shouldn't need Custom Farming Redux (CFR) or CFAutomate. Almost all mods for those should have been converted to Producer Framework Mod (PFM) and PFMAutomate

Yep, the loading the saved game is the issue for me. The time from clicking Play in Steam to getting to the title screen is not so bad. It's the clicking the saved file and waiting for that to load takes forever.

I know. And I could have. But I already wasn't overly thrilled, didn't like the vanity in my cabin, and regardless of how easy it is to change, it SERIOUSLY bugs me that the mod creator used a default keybind. I get that mods might overlap, but there's no reason to overlap with Stardew itself.

Hmm. Aedenthorn has made a Multiple Floor Farmhouse framework mod. Might have to track that just to keep an eye on what folks do with it.
XNB mods are frowned upon now, but whats in them can still be useful for CP usage @true cliff
We could pull the files out of the XNB same way we would with the game own files, then take the pics inside and make a CP patch or Patches.. simple..

Something that is sad about the Stardew Aquarium is I can't use the train station until summer. I already lost a fish in my chest reserved for aquarium donations due to JA shuffle yesterday cause by a mod update adding a new JA item. Apparently today yet another mod update added a JA item. I am procrastinating playing today because I don't want to see yet another fish lost. In my previous save, JA shuffle also liked to pick on my fish box.

Oh? Is that what JA shuffle is? Mod add new items and messes with Item ids?
Both adding and deleting JA items causes the ids to change themselves up. It's no problem if you add or delete and then start a new game. It's just mid-save that's the issue.

Yep, it definitely doesn't cause problems all the time. I've just noticed that machine produced items and fish seem super susceptible to it somehow. I don't recall other items of mine changing so far

They work fine with SVE. You might want to adjust configs for them if they appear too much for your liking. Somebody recently said they were using the overworld chests and felt like they were appearing too much and giving too good of stuff. I've been wondering if it's worth using the fishing chest one or not

Have you looked at Convenient Chests for a replacement?
There's also an unofficial update for it, but I don't think there's any word on an official one.
Where would I find that? It shows only that ot is broken on Smapi.io
Convenient Chests would be the way to go. It has all the features of Stack to Nearby Chests + more

I would definitely recommend Convenient Chests. I use it myself, and it has a number of features I really like.

I agree aith all except for xhests anywhere.
I use all but Colorful Chests. What does that do that the default color picker doesn't?
I lile the restriction of the backpack.
It gives a lot more color options if you find the options available in vanilla to be not enough
There's a version that limits you to chests on the map you're in. So you could access everything on your farm while there, but not while in the mines.

I understand your feeling on the backpack restriction and fair enough. I just have played this game enough times and so many hundreds and hundreds of hours that I think I can have some cheaty mods. I give myself some hard mods to compensate a bit though, so I think I maybe break even a bit

yeah i find it pretty easy to use but sometimes i still end up using the website to download
Can you try downloading the mod outside the manager and manually add the file to it?
