Everywhere. There is not a single "valid" tile that I can place paths or sprinklers on my farm

Heya. So I used Vortex to install some mods, and as far as I can tell they load. Though I can't seem to select the loaded hairstyles in new game creation?
Installed Coii's Hair Sets Pack and Content Patcher (as well as SMAPI and JSON Asset Packs), and the log says the Hair Sets pack is a loaded content pack, but I can't seem to find them in the char creation.
Kinda new to Stardew modding, so not even sure what I may be doing wrong

smapi also tells me to update mail framework, but theres no new versions either-
sometime the mods get updated on nexus but the version number in the manifest doesn't get updated... This will make SMAPI say there is an update even if your already at the newest version

Oh I see, seems I had to change the config option to long hairstyles, so it had only added short variants without that, and I was checking by looking at the image of the long ones
I have made manifest fixes just to make update messages go away. I've even download mods from nexus opened the manifest that I knew should be up to date to match the number listed on nexus and it hasn't. Changing the manifest version number shouldn't effect the mod itself, but you probably don't want to do it unless your certain it's the newest version and that is the issue. I just know from experience that this has caused me to update mods a couple times over before just to make sure they were actually updated.

i drew the angry eyebrows on the adorable chickens, but i did it in paint and didn't realise it'd lose transparency XD

Is Longevity compatible with SVO? Since presumably they both try to change clothing dynamically
the chickens are from the chonkins mod, and the idea for angry eyebrows came from the angry chickens mod. i effectively merged the two reskins, but inexpertly XD
should probably easily enough open the file back up select the white background then cut it out to get back to transparent

I could do very quickly for you in Photoshop if you'd like... It has selection tools that make doing that type of thing very painless... If you can get around the learning curve of a pro program

Try horse overhaul for the first thing. Tractor is affected by horse mods, and that one adds skinny horses

It appears the site is very strict about only having Korean members... depend on if they are abroad or If your a foreigner living in Korea. Otherwise it's not liking the fact that they can't prove we are who we are so they don't want to clear the membership to the point where we can get access t the files. I've even gotten to the point where they want a drivers license of something to verify real name

As far as I remember south Koreans need to use their personal ID when using the internet. So your account will likely be instantly disabled until you send in Korean ID. Have tried to sign up to naver before and that was my result

You don't need an account to get files on Naver anyway. Only to access the threads that kick you out without being logged in. Afaik they don't actually host files, they just link to a file hosting site somewhere else on the thread. Or they have the download in the top right of the OP

Hmm some of the recipe mods are kinda exploitable. Like you can buy tequila from the saloon for 400 coins, you can sell it for 560 because of Artisian buff. Is this kinda thing intended or just accidental?

I think what happened is the swords ID got changed in game somehow when you put in the custom weapon... Sometimes when this happen the pic or info on the item in your inventor gets messed up. you best option is likely to throw the weapon in the trash, then use smapi commands or Item spawner to give yourself the appropriate weapon back
Major issue for some time in JA is item number changes and is definitely something spacechase0 is fixing with the work being done on JA 2.0
This is often the cause of mismatch sprite / data of items already in ones inventory or chests.

Are there any mods that add economic balance to the game? Like supply and demand? If I ship 100 starfruit wine the value of starfruit wine goes down, adding a new layer to the game

Not necessarily looking for a tax/bill mod, just looking for a mod that would balance profitable revenue streams with the offset that the more you ship the more a product declines, so it could continually keep the crop/product selection fresh as you search for something other than starfruit wine etc to ship
I don't think it exists now... but there is a mod that does similar to NPC gift tastes if you gift them the same gift over and over again. So maybe there's a way to look at how that mod works, then find a way to apply this to crops and cooking and crafted artisan goods

Is there any mods that give you a "Choose Quantity" for buying things rather than Shift Clicking?
You could use CP to track the in game # for how many times each items been shipped then use that number as a threshold on patches that reduce the sell price of the items when its exceeded
Big issue with that is the game doesnt count anything sold directly to a shop keeper as shipped
only what gets shipped via the shipping bin
Plus there are a lot of items that could have their numbers effected which could lead to a fairly time consuming mod creation. You need to keep track of the number and make different changes at different points in time and would have to set this up to happen with each item unless you grouped them together like all egg or all milks because then you might be able to monitor item groups. with there numbers like -6 or -12 or whatever the actually item group number is correct
is it possible to track it with CP?
I have a working mod I've been working that reduced the sell cost and edibility and such of the items dynamically as you level up in certain skills, making the game get harder as you get better skilled
@shy orbit I beleive the game tracks the number of things which have been shipped... It show the numbers in the collections screen. I'm fairly sure there's a way for CP to look and see what that number is
well, even if there is the next problem would probably be time limiting the patch
s <item ID> <number> Current player has shipped at least <number> of the specified item. Can specify multiple item and number pairs, in which case all of them must be met. from event preconditions... CP can use these for all it's patches as when variables

The collections screen keeps track.. of the number shipped.. not sold per say... because it doesn't keep track of item sold directly to shop keepers.
We were wondering if this is possible so we could used the number shipped as Tokens in when blocks, to determine when to apply sell price decreases.
The game also has the precondition setting of
s <item ID> <number>
So was hoping CP has a way to utilize this?

There's 2 mods that I wish existed. 1 - A mod that can look at the configs for all of your mods and tell you what the keybinds are so you can figure out conflicts and customize them easier. 2 - A mod that can in-game search via a typeable search box (think CJB Item Spawner type) through all shops that exist in the game (including mod shops) to tell you where a particular item is being sold and, if it's not being sold (wrong season, RNG like for Traveling Merchant) then it could tell you why.

The frustrating thing about having a lot of mods is how many items are spread out among so many places. There's Pierre/Joja/Willy/Adventurer's Guild/Krobus/Dwarf. There's Khadija and Garden Shop. RSV has a shop that sells seeds. There's even more too. If I want to buy a particular type of seeds, where do I go? The answer isn't always Pierre's.
oh, it moved when i updated, it just happened to be last week of spring. fortunately, i managed to get a sneak peek of the moved guild before the update so i could headcanon that they were in the process of moving all spring
but yeah, without that sneak peek, that would have broken my roleplay immersion ^^;

I’m having an issue. It takes Clint literally like 5 real time minutes to break one geode
I know but I find it a bit frustrating. I don't expect an Amazon-equivalent place that has everything, but when I want one particular thing, I don't always know where to go.
pierre's has most. sandy gets the exotic seeds. krobus gets the magical ones. clint gets metal seeds.

@rancid dome seams odd it would only effect His animation and the geode breaking one in specific... Are you running an other mods you recently installed. Sometimes it's a very unlike conflict. It took me a while to figure out that the mod Sprite Master was cause menu opening delays in game version 1.5 as the rest of the mod seamed to be working find... but it was the cause none the less
sve had/has summit content since forever, so flash kinda had to make the summit easier to get to
That's weird. It should only take a few seconds. Do you have a log where you played and had him break a geode? I'm curious if it shows anything there
@distant tiger If you knew how to make a content pack for Shop Tile Framework... You could make a mod for yourself that forces all JA Items into 1 shop and likely most other salable items as well. Once you had it set up, you could probably then just add or remove the JA packs from the shop list in your mod for the different packs you install or remove from your game

Speed up many animations in the game (like breaking geodes or eating). Optionally configure the speed for each animation.
I know it sucks and no one likes to, but you could back up you save, then remove 1 updated mod at a time until you figure out which one update and started to cause the issue

It only happens when I'm joining their world but the weird thing is, when they sent me the save file and i hosted the world, they didn't get the error joining me, only when i join them. Could my character be corrupt? it's odd

mine lags a bit with automate. and i get void maps after 1 or 2 days of play, which is far more annoying.

sounds like memory related issues.. and maps not load properly due to. Been other memory issues of late to. They are working on correcting then in upcoming SMAPI releases
yup. and funnily enough, it's the vanilla map that voids. you can see sve's edits to the town remain visible
@rancid dome I tried looking at your log (including the more detailed trace) and I don't see a single thing on it that explains your geode breaking animation lag. You don't have any errors at all and it looks like Clint breaking geodes is not something that's even logged. All I can think of now is trying MJA1981's suggestion of trying to remove mods to figure out what the culprit is

@rancid dome It most likely isn't a JA mod or a CP mod but instead a mod that patches in some kind of C# code that's causing an unforeseen issue
I saw you mention lag KitKat. Are you using SVE? If you are you can try turning the mist function off in the config. I wasn't haven't issues with it before the most recent update, but the most recent update seemed to add a lot more and caused me problems. I had to turn all of that off and it took away lag issues I started having
one thing did stand out for me, but i'm not sure if it's related to the issue at all. @rancid dome fetk and mfm don't play well together. it's recommended to remove fetk.

Yep! They didn't have the ability to turn off mist before, but they do now in the most recent update
@lyric gale a lot of CP mods are updating on timechange or locationchange now and depending on the number of patch being update this can also cause know lags that are being looked into. SVE and Seasonal Villager Out fits and a few other mods use these update features heavily.

Maybe a tilesheet overlay issue?
in the mods json files the patches are being told to update and check to see if their conditions are met... For some time CP only update the patches at the begining of the day, but recent versions have CP have allowed modders to tell the mods to update on location change (Every time you change maps... going in and out of buildings) or on time change... every time the in game clock goes up 10 mins. this has allowed for more of a real time update to the mods, but at a cost.

i wish we could remove the content packs we're not using from diverse stardew. i don't need samoan alex in my mod folder if i'm using latino alex. that said, would having the whole diverse stardew folder effect load times at all? or does it completely ignore the existence of samoan alex if i'm using latino alex, and not load up samoan alex into the precious limited ram stardew can use?

Say with Seasonal Villager Outfits, if your using a mod that makes it rain partway through the day, then you go to a new map, it looks to see if the weather is different and if it is, changes the sprites over to the rain ones. Couldn't really do that before on the fly the way we can now
That’s all my knowledge then. XD if it were me troubleshooting then. I would still take out the overlay mod and see what happened.

The update on timechange isn't used as often because it cause the lag to happen a lot more frequently... like every game time change, that happens a lot, even if your just running from one side of your farm to the other and back, no map change at all.

But the fast your pc the less lag... some of the limitations are the game is programmed to be 32bit and doesn't take advantage of some of the speed and memory that 64bit programming could offer.... But that an huge overhaul of the games code and will likely never happen.

I've tried doing the same thing but in the opposite order... Mac on PC, but never did get it working.... Wanted to try to learn to use a Mac so I didn't feel so dumb with them.

I will never go back to windows after using Mac. I find it so much more user friendly IMO
you could maybe load the game on the system that works, then throw the items in the garbage.. use smapi to set the date back a day then go to bed and re save the game... You won't lose a game day this way... you might lose a touch of friendship points for not talking to NPC's but I'm not sure.... Make sure you backup you save files first then give that a try.

The problem is, my character crashes when i join their world, when i got their save (playing as them) and they joined me(on a fresh character), there is no problem, i can't get into the world on my character to dump any items, that's why i believe i need to edit my player in the savefile @mild mirage
I tried going to an android after an ipohone and when it was time to upgrade again I went back.
I actually feel the other way around about using Macs. My last computer before this was a Mac because I wanted to give it a try. There's some features I liked about it but meh. Would rather have Windows or Linux personally. But hey, it's good Mac exists for the people who like it!

Admittedly Iphone has much stronger security but that's about all it's got going for it. IMO there is just a lot less apps and stuff for them I feel, but the ones that are available are better. Similar to the Mac vs Pc versions of Photoshop... Almost all pros swear it's better on the Mac. Even my local college teaches it on the Mac instead of the PC

With some of the map and building redo's and interiors, animal replacements and so on... Portraits and sprites... There isn't much that hasn't been modded
I haven't seen any mods that touch or recolor the interiors of the mines/Skull Caverns yet. Not saying it doesn't exist, just don't know about it
I've even gone so far as to make a custom title screen although it broke for android users
Obviously there's mods that change the things that show up inside, but I just mean something equivalent to the recolor mods but just for caves

The WIP gets harder and harder and it's JOJA's fault, unless you take the JOJA route, then it's greats very very hard and slowly gets easier... Because I wasn't able to change the prices need for the JOJA.. There hard coded... So I had to make it increasingly harder for a JOJA member to make money.
i still have vanilla goats, ducks, and dinos as i haven't found any reskin i click with for them >.> i clicked with chonkins and angry chickens, qute animals (making cows and pigs similar to chonkins), and rabbits with hats. if anyone knows similar reskins for goats, ducks, and dinos, let me know please XD

omg I reinstalled vortex after manually adding all my mods again and it deleted all the manifest and content files

lol I had put in a feature request, and they asked me to send my logs - which I don't have because I deleted them - so I thought 'I'll just reinstall it quickly and generate some logs' not realising it would REMOVE ALL MY MANUAL INSTALLS

also, for going vortex > manual, make sure your vortex setting is 'hard links' - that will move your mods over to the actual mods folder, rather than jsut having aliases in there
Upload your log to the smapi websit and it says every mod you have in that load ao you can make sure you get everything whej redownloading

I think vortex is set to hard links for me Because the files are in the mod folder and the ones that come from vortex have a file in each individual sub folder that says "managed by vortex" or somethin.

a suggestion I would make is to keep the compressed version of your mod (the zip/rar/etc) as your backup copy. that way you can just extract it again without looking for it or redownloading it, and since it's still compressed you won't get it confused somehow with the extracted versions in your mod folder

You should be okay if it is just JSON assets that are removed. You might find that some items in chests and inventory get transformed into other things, but new items will be fine
The Bug Net itself crashed my game every time i went to sleep with it in my inventory. Literally
I think it's only BFAV and NPC mods that need save file editing to fix.

Yeah I think that that issue has now been fixed (I'm using animal husbandry which adds the same type of item) and the spacecore thing has been patched now I think

I mostly only use JsonAssets compatible mods. I'm not sure if Expanded and the Immersive farm are JsonAssets compatible or not tho

I think I figured out why Vortex deleted my mods:
The mods that were deleted all left behind a 'this folder is managed by vortex' file - so I think that, when I reinstalled vortex, it looked in my mods folder and was like 'huh these vortex mods don't have entries, I will remove them' so, when removing vortex, make sure to remove all those files after, in case you one day install vortex again and it decides to delete them

Multiple spouses allows for multiple kids. And I don't think you need a second spouse either
There are a few child to npc mods, but last I heard they were quirky at best with 1.5, if not outright buggy

Some npcs might be "incompatible" in that they might have weird pathing, or you might need noclip mod so you don't get stuck on a pesky flower or something in a heart event XD

(Sorry to be off topic but...) I just checked more into my problem with extreme lag caused by breaking geodes, and apparently if I start a new game, it works just fine. I’m in the middle of summer on my save that just started having the issue

Things like portrait or reskin mods don't need to be downloaded by everyone. But mods more complex than that really do need to be downloaded by everyone.
Clint mails you the recipe for the Anvil when you have the following conditions met:
At least 5 Hearts with Clint
Cracked at least 50 Geodes
Anvil requires these ingredients to craft
10 Iron Bars
5 Iridium Bars
5 Fire Quartz
5 Hardwood
If you know how to edit MFM and JA files you can change these to suit your needs

Heyy seeing Flash pop up in the chat reminded me of another problem I have, it’s to do with SVE. I see people using Rustic Town Interiors with SVE and it looks to work fine for them, but I can’t get it to work for me. I’ve brought this problem up before, but I cannot figure out why it doesn’t work
I don’t think that’s what’s causing my issue, but I can try disabling it! Breaking geodes works fine on a new game, and worked fine earlier in my current game

@rancid dome It would be interesting to see if any of the mods fix the issue.. If it's an issue with the geode breaking animation, your breaking it instead of clint might not make a difference

Search on NEXUS for Better, you'll find a series of mods that repleace a lot of the games items skins
I started up a new save without adding or deleting any mods and I gave myself some geodes to have Clint break and that worked just fine. I don’t know why I’m having the issue midways through summer year 1

Usually the no idea warnings are nothing to worry about. It happens when you have a mod which adds compatibility for a mod that you don't have, but you don't need it to make the mod work

like with my tea mod, if you have hadi's shaved ice installed, you can make Iced tea, but if you don't it will show up as a 'no idea what iced tea is' warning I think

Oh it lets you search in the folder - so after I removed vortex, I went into my mods folder and searched for __folder_managed_by_vortex and then selected and deleted all those files. Saves going into each mod to delete the file!

Oh now that you're here Obamoose I wanted to bring up something I noticed with that QF beta. I started a new save yesterday and played through spring 1-4 using the QF beta. Normally quests start showing up on the bulletin board outside Pierre's starting on spring 2 (can you tell I've restarted a lot?). With QF beta installed, I have yet to see a quest show up - either by Pierre's or on the RSV board
I don't know if it's QF or the game is just being random on me, but I'll keep going with it for a while and see what happens

-Various Trees from the more trees mod disappear in multiplayer (i think they are from the more trees mod) but come back in single player. The trees remain and put out, but the sprite disappears
-The products would mislabel but sell for the same when a mod gets removed/added.
As far as i can tell, nothing is redlining and from time to time (on the more rare side) the game will freeze completely which I've noticed is when i get redlines (errors) but i can't read them because i can't stop the scrolling

I know you don't get them every day, but I've restarted the game a lot in the past month or two. Normally you see your first quest appear on Pierre's board on day 2 - if not then, on day 3 for sure. It's just weird to play through 4 days and not see a single quest yet. But maybe I'm just really unlucky this time. But either way, will see what happens!
Another question for you all (I'm sorry for all the questions) but I am using RSV and Rustic Floors and Walls and without spoiling anything, there is a shop located in a waterfall and when I go to access the shop, the only thing that shows is the floor and walls, and they're all free

@alpine talon -The products would mislabel but sell for the same when a mod gets removed/added. this is due to how JSON assets works - when you get a new item it should be fixed though. if it is a crop, you will have to kill it and plant it again!

Hi! I recently married a custom npc and since then I haven't been able to save and events get error messages in smapi. Is it possible that another mod is conflicting with my custom npc or is it just my custom npc interfering with the game itself?

yep found it - it's [CSP] Make Gunther Real. Also [CSP] Make Marlon Real does it too while CustomSpousePatio installed alone doesn't cause problems. Those two packs, either just one or the other, or both breaks a bit of the beach farm tiles.
if i install quality artisan goods, would i need flower meads installed ? or would having both cause conflicts?

Still can't get GetGlam to see hairpacks over the original limit, like they are there but they appear blank in the GG menu but appear fine in the regular customization menu
Turning the sparecore requirement is supposed to make hairs practically unlimited and it does. kind of,

I currently have 372 hairs available in normal CC/customize anywhere, though those passed the 336 limit won't show in the GetGlam menu. But if you use customize anywhere to open up it's menu it's all good. It also sees my skincolor packs.

Hi all, I've been playing a new multiplayer farm with mods and sometimes (as the host) I have to restart my game in order to see the full multiplayer options and invite friends to the game. Not sure if it's a bug with the newest update or with a mod, but I included a smapi log just in case. I attached a screenshot of what my bugged multiplayer settings screen looks like.

'Better Artisan Goods Icons' is BAGI and will do stuff by itself, but also allows other mods to leverage it to do icon replacement for other things it doesn't cover on its own.
So BAGI by itself will make things have input-appropriate icons, and the PPJA Icon Pack for BAGI changes what those icons look like (but it still needs BAGI to do so)

no worries! basically, you need both mods, but since they won't have the same aesthetic, the better artisan goods creator made pngs for bagi that matches the aesthetic. but you'll have to replace the pngs that you download with bagi.
