XNB mods often break the game and are not recommended. You need an empty hand and then I believe it's right click

You can modify vanilla chests, so I don't see why not

Both Android SMAPI ports are currently broken. ZaneYork is aware of the issue. There is no ETA for a fix. A large portion of the graphics code got abruptly changed which caused the port to break.
ZaneYork does accept pull requests if you are able to submit a fix. You can also check the repo for updates for when a new version is released. https://github.com/ZaneYork/SMAPI-Android-Installer

Recent changes in the Android version of the game caused both Android SMAPI ports to break. ZaneYork is aware of the issue and working on a fix (and pull requests to help are welcome.) A pre-release version equivalent to SMAPI 3.7.6 for Stardew 1.4.5.151 is now available at https://github.com/ZaneYork/SMAPI-Android-Installer/releases

So bonster's crops was always making the game really slow and disabling every mod I had but when I created a new file in my mod folder with a random name and copied the mod to that new file it worked
Why did that happen

I can't tell without a log
It was just errors with all the mods without any reason and it also showed a message when joining saying disabled mods to prevent crash or something like this
But after just moving the mod to a new file it worked fine without any errors
I'll be just making wild guesses without a log which isn't helpful to you or me

i go into ridgeside after not going for a while and theres 5 scenes queued up lol
It showed me over 1000 errors just after using the mod
But when I removed it all the errors were gone
But after I moved the mod to a new file with a random name it worked
And I want to know how that worked

Like for real it fixed all the problems I had by just doing that and same thing happened with other mods that had the same problem too

@dire fractal they are already on the latest version (for the android version) and all of them worked fine without that mod
But like I said it worked just fine after just moving that mod to another file instead of just directly copying it to my mods

Is there anything I can do to fix a save that has JSON shuffle? Specifically my seed maker just started spitting out weird stuff.

The letter just informs you that there are items you can recover.
However, they can only recover one item.

@final sigil just an idea for the Mail Delivery Service mod. Also items the farmer loses in the mines can be sent to them by mail next day
So in case the seed maker is still busy I could break it to stop the (possibly bad) item it’s working on and then throw the bad ones away and done?

How does that work on vanilla?
1.4.1 is the last (stable) release and 1.5.0-beta is out for testing the new feature (item vacuum). So it's fine to stay on 1.4.1 unless you want to test out the new features
that text is harmless, it just means you don't have an optional mod that the tea station can use
Once 1.5.0 is released without -beta then that means any surprise issues have been worked out

I just released it last night, so these logs are helpful though for getting to a stable release

yup, it works the same as going to the guild, you can just do it from home
so if Digus decides to implement it, it'll be a get-late-game-feature-early sort of thing

If the player passes out from low health in The Mines, Quarry Mine, Skull Cavern or Volcano Dungeon, Marlon will hold lost items in an "Item Recovery Service" option in the Adventurer's Guild Menu. Players may choose to purchase one lost item, for the same price as it would be sold through the Shipping Box. Items will stay in Marlon's menu until the next time the player passes out from low health, when they will be replaced by any new items lost.

There's no cursor on Android unfortunately, so I'm not really sure how I'd make it work there. (I assume there's a way to see the item tooltip on Android, but I can't check since I don't play on Android.)

Vacuum has debris go straight into a chest in your inventory instead of taking up space in player inventory

So i'm trying to get rid of some mods because the update happened, and I want to play with less mods. But on my Vortex it says I have 41 mods (while I only have around 10) even after I deleted them all. How do I make sure the mods I deleted ARE deleted?
i would recommend starting by getting rid of vortex, and go for manual installation

you just download them manually and then drop them in the /mods folder inside your SDV folder

I was using arcane tool mod with loc mod but I didn't know they were incompatible
What can I do now it's annoying :/
I tried disabling arcane mod
install the mod again, delete the frying pan
But pan still stayed there

@fast river Interestingly, SpaceCore 1.5.3 is one thing every person who reported it to so far has in common (see logs at https://github.com/Pathoschild/SMAPI/issues/757). I assumed it was just because it was a root dependency for large mods like Stardew Valley Expanded or Ridgside Village.
Though not every case crashes during the actual save logic.
well, i did update SVE aswell, and the farmhand was seeing some red errors from quest framework

TMXL doesn't come with any buildables, you need to install buildables mods separately
do you think its possible to use a similar approach to add color manipulation to other things? like buildings and furniture?
it may be that the menu isn't opening because you don't actually have anything for it to show
I just reviewed the changes for 1.5.3 and don't see anything that would be memory intensive.
Do you think loading the XML document after 'saving' and stuff would cause a lot of memory usage? (https://github.com/spacechase0/SpaceCore_SDV/blob/master/Overrides/SaveGame.cs#L356) It seems like it wouldn't be enough to cause OOM errors to me though

Maybe but Furniture/Buildings use a Tint which I haven’t researched much yet so it’s not something that would be added to Expanded Storage
I haven't experienced OOM issues ever since I turned off preload for all mods that include Custom Music. That doesn't explain the 1-2 people who don't seem to have anything that involves Custom Music on their logs, but anyway that's been my experience. Haven't had any lag or stuttering since then either

Destroys savefile, order boards and doesn't work with multiplayer. Savefiles are brolen especially in MP, questlog is full of messy data
QF is still required for RSV, so people are gonna have to continue using it until RSV updates, unless you want people to just stop playing until the RSV devs scramble to finish the update...?
And some quests can't be completed after upgrade

yeah, i saw, but the fact remains that RSV is still gonna require it for a little bit because it was pulled without warning, so people are gonna need to keep using it if they want to play on their saves.

I am just a person with my own life. I spent lot of tume without sleep for making SDV mods and I set my borders and said STOP. I don't want to have sleepless night due to modding and be under pressure and forced to immediately fix, ASAP code for mods. I am leaving SDV modding. It's painful, but that's the fact. I have other higher priorities than modding, sorry. There are noone who are able to be granted for NA and)or QF repo and maintain my mods, so it's better to close them. You can say I have a duty to maintain them, but my opposite opinion is I am not. It's no my duty, I am allowed to quit modding when I want.

It's not really overreporting per se. The information about the status of mods is generally not really known by most people in the SDV community. That's the main reason I joined this Discord channel and I also read the making-mods channel. Unless you read those, there is little to no info out there

Modding is not your job. Maybe if you were getting paid to do it it would be a bit different, but even if you were, burnout happens. No problem. Just move on. Doesn't mean you can't come back in the future if and when you want to. But it's not worth it. Do what makes you happy. Life's too short.

ive been getting this issue since smapi 3.9 i think, and usually it helps if i remove the mods that throw out of memory exceptions on boot (im looking at you, wayback pelican town), but this time im SOL

- Before launching the game, open the task manager (by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc), click the "Performance" tab, and make sure "Memory" is selected. (If you don't see any tabs, click "More details" at the bottom first.)
- Play until the issue happens again (but don't close the game).
- Post a screenshot of the performance tab in the task manager.
- Post a screenshot of the "Processes" tab too.

in theory, but ive had it throw the outofmemoryexception when it was only using 1.9GB
outofmemory exceptions should only occur when there is a oversight in code, so i dont think even if that helped that it would be a good solution

- at first issue cropped up only when a different cosmetic mod (usually way back pelican town) threw an exception. issue could be handled by removing/reinstalling the offending mod, up until a week ago, i think? i apologize for the wishy-washy timeframe, my work fries my brain.
- so since about a week ago ish i just. couldnt get past the last day. nada. same error every time.
- memory is like obelix description of switzerland. flat. screenshots in a second.
- switching to spacecore 7 fixed it hallelujah. im not crying tears of joy but its a darn close thing.

Mods read the underlying keyboard codes. You can enter the test_input command in the SMAPI console, then press buttons in-game to see what the codes are for those keys.
Oh perfect because having a non-us keyboard is very confusing otherwise lol

We both have the exact same mod folder because I just sipped up mine and sent it to them. We also both have smapi installed.

There should be a SMAPI Installer folder in the zip and all the files should be in that folder; drag the folder out of the zip and then run the installer.

the one we're talking about right now is a TMXL bug, the "json shuffle" bug is a JA bug
JA scramble shouldn't happen all on its own for no reason at all. I imagine if the cause were well-known then it could be fixed/avoided. I think the risk is minimal if you started a save game on the current version of SDV rather than update from a previous version, and if you don't add/remove JA packs.

At work I'm able to open plain text files that are multiple GB in size using glogg (or klogg)
Part of the problem is that the log parser reads the whole log at once by design, since the whole idea is to surface issues (e.g. errors, update alerts, etc) at the top for visibility. It's not just a log browser like glogg.
It could be optimized to better handle repeating log entries though.

when i just skipped the day by immediately going to sleep, it worked. however, playing the day properly has returned the error.

what i did that day: grabbed a daily screenshot of my farm. planted some rice, taro, pineapple, and a mango tree in my main greenhouse; as well as prepped the greenhouse in grandpas shed with sprinklers and lots of modded crops, as well as beehouses.
went to the island and collected golden walnuts, and did a full clear of the volcano.
came back and watched an event with a custom npc. went home, planted some more taro.
What is the limit for the parser site btw? I think it probably starts having problems around 2MB right?
And maybe compress the log before sending it to the server.
Actually, I dug through the log myself and found some issues and it seemed to resolve the problem. I didn't even know there was a log to dig through so thank you!!

Do you guys know on which game folder are the sounds? Animal sounds, horse sound, walking sound, using a tool sound etc. I can't seem to find it

For bigger logs parsing doesn't necessarily have to be sequential, but I imagine throwing some multi-compute cluster at the problem is out of scope 🙂

My main theory is a memory leak in the way map tilesheets and NPC portraits/sprites are managed, though I'm not sure why it suddenly became more of an issue in the last week or two.

I'm not able to take a deep dive, but I'd recommend checking the last update dates. A lot of stuff changed in 1.5 which was released on Dec 21, 2020 so if those mods haven't been updated since then, they might need updates

Na you download it from nexus mods and get a ZIP file. Then you open the zip and drag the folder into the mods folder.
That sums it ups, unzip the folder into Mods
And to update you usually just unzip into mods and replace whatever it needs to

Point is your Mods folder should just be filled with one folder for each mod with the mod's name

yeah i had a friend that spend like a day downloading a lot of mods and when the game updated, he got so sad that half of his mods didnt work and deleted them
For major updates of SDV (1.4 to 1.5) it's usually good to start fresh, it takes awhile to update and some mods never do
Open those zip files. And drag whatever files are in then to ur mods folder in your game folser that has the smapi application
Plus with major updates that's a lot of new vanilla game content that you might miss out on if you don't just start fresh
