Although lights probably have their own stuff that needs to be attached that JA may not support as a regular bigcraftable
there are lamps that are added via JA
for example, Gwen's lamp mod has a CP version and a JA version (this one is in the optional files), and ye they're craftable

Agreed. My computer previous to this was a Macbook Pro, using whatever the integrated graphics was for that. No issues at all. My current computer (a Windows 10 higher end gaming computer) is silent nearly the entire time this game runs (obviously gets noisy for other intense games). Most "potato" computers (I hate that term) can probably handle this game with the same quality as me.

spritemaster will slow down stardew valley a little bit

mainly because it breaks apart spritemaps
and also breaks apart sprite batches
so if you are running on a potato, you might notice it
a russet potato
yukon gold potatoes handle it fine.

and reprocesses the entire batches

SpriteMaster makes a lot of internal assumptions that require some refactoring to understand that sprites can change.
it assumes, presently, that changes are long-term.
that is, if a sprite changes, it's probably a mod override and it should keep THAT. CP-A constantly updates them.
Someone showed a screenshot and it looked amazing. But I also love my jumping junimo scarecrow. xD
so, there's a bit of changes I have to make to make CP-A work, and that's on a branch.

So I saw somebody talking about this many hours ago but I did not see the end of the conversation - what's with Better Mixed Seeds saying it can't load things? This is not on game bootup. This is after you load a save file. Is this a change I can make on my end or is this a thing that needs to be changed from the mod author or another dependency?

Alright! I removed Love of Cooking because it was causing the issues we were talking about earlier, now I cannot enter the community center at all with the same error in relation to missing items for bundles is this file just dead?
spritemaster has a more complex rendering and storage backend than the game itself :P

Hi all! Hoping someone can help~ I went to play just now and my game said that smapi had an update. I downloaded the update, saved it to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common (there the old version is) and installed it. But when I went to go run the game it was still running the old version. Do I delete the old smapi file? This seems like a simple question, but in the wiki documentation it said it would update itself?

If you using Skip Fishing Minigame, SDV runs as if your bar never slipped off the fish, so its perfect, which ranks it up. If you're fishing far enough from shore, it goes from gold to iridium quality every time. Short answer, yes

teh's fishing overhaul has difficulty settings for fishing
the one in the common folder won't work, it should be in your game folder

it's most likely still your mods, an error being from "game" just means that "game" is where SMAPI is running into and intercepting the error. but a lot of mods patch base game code directly

Other info: According to the content.json file found in the "[CP] Life Cycle - Craftables" folder, the mod author loads in their own version of the Craftable.png. They wanted to use their own version for the wedding arch and flowers only. The way they are doing so is by replacing the entire Craftables tilesheet ("Action": "Load") instead of editing only parts of it ("Action": "Edit"). You can read more about "Load" and "Edit" on the official stardew valley modding wiki here.

yup, as long as you have sheep_1 through sheep_4 and also have baby and sheared sprites named the same way

So my question re: Life Cycles would be this: Could I remove the offending folder for the time being, put it back in to have characters get married, then remove it again once the wedding is over?
Yes although the marriage will probably work fine without it, just look strange since the arch will be made of random craftables
I couuuuld theoretically fix that too? The content.json for the folder is pretty simple, and I have another mod that includes a wedding arch.

(on mac/linux it also reports 1 singular smapi file as needing to be replaced, so after verifying on mac/linux you need to run the smapi installer again)

Yes it might be possible to fix if I retool how sprinklers are counted. BTW make sure to update to the latest version, the old versions had some bugs that were causing input to not count correctly

Normal chickens get their own coop, rabbits, ducks, blue and void chickens get their own, same with dinos, then cows and goats usually hang out together, with sheep and pigs together

The game saves progress when the in-game day ends, i.e., when the farmer goes to bed, collapses from exhaustion, or collapses at 2am. All progress during a day is lost if the player quits the game without ending the day. In multiplayer, the game saves after all players click through the prompts at end of day and wake up in the morning.

Not that I've seen, but you can change your animal's skin after the fact. You will have to type some code into the SMAPI screen after you've loaded your saved game. Adopt n Skin's Nexus page says how but if you have trouble you can ask here.

you would download the skins and put them in the A&S assets folder
whenever you get an animal, A&S will use one of the skins in its assets folder for that animal instead of the vanilla one
alright, someone said i can give my pet a skin after i adopted them. how exactly do i do that? i tried reading it on nexus but i didnt understand it at all
whenever you want, you can tell it to rerandomize the skins for a specific animal, type of animal, or for all animals
Type (without " ") in SMAPI screen: "list_creatures all" and it should list your animals by name. The first number is the animal's number. Write that down. Look up the number of the animal skin you want for your animal under the folder with the skins. Then type (without " " and parentheses) in SMAPI screen: "set_skin (skin number you want) (animal's number)" For example if you have a cat is listed as ID 1, and you want it to be Cat_5 under your skins folder, then you would type "set_skin 5 1"
or you can use randomize_skin [ID] or randomize_skin cat or randomize_skin all
if you don't care which skin you get just Preferably Not That One

Almost. You have to put all of the animal colors of the same type into 1 folder. For example, my folders are "BrownChicken" "BrownCow" "Cat" "Dinosaur" "Dog" "Duck" etc. All of the pigs would go together in a Pig folder. All the sheep would go together in a Sheep folder.

Cows and Chickens are separated by the colors that the vanilla game has, not whatever the skin is

Like Wingheart said, subfoldering is allowed. So what I do is keep all of the folders for 1 mod together in 1 folder. So the Grandpa's Farm 3 folders would be together in 1 Grandpa's Farm folder. I already have too many mods. I don't need to clutter my main mod folder with multiple folders created by the same mod. Too messy looking.
i was inspired by the critical save load issues that we bumped into with spacecore serialisation and uninstalling mods :p

never load in multiplayer games, only the host's config options are considered, and the current world state is considered for clients only, so hosts should never have a bundle load after disabling in config from there being leftovers in the world state

hi @feral parrot , do you happen to have a log from the host player, too? it's a tricky problem to diagnose since it relies on the host sending the CC data to the client, so i'd need to know if that did/did not happen before you crashed ๐ฅ๏ธ
So like, the mod author set the folder structure up correctly, then put the mod folder in a zip file for Nexus

You just open the zip and the folder in the zip is the mod that goes in your mods folder; no need to find out where any individual file goes because it's all arranged right for you!

So I as usual I'm back to ask questions about adopt n skin, opened the skins folder and I have folders with named Brown Chicken, white chicken ect... but I also have individual files in the skins folder, which is the preferred way of organizing the skins folder? It seems like the nested folders would be easier to organize...

@tired brook Further testing has revealed that it has something to do with console commands, yes seriously, we're still narrowing down the exact frameworks + content packs minimum required for the error but it does not occur without console commands

they are different sprites in different colours, there's a program people have used for renaming skins, I think called bulk rename utility @orchid locust

There's a lot more skin options for the old ones. But the new ones have tweaked designs, if you like those better.

To clarify: Naming the farmer, farm, and favourite thing Test got the error.

Yeah, the old versions have like 30-40 colors/types for each animal, but the new versions have 15-20 for each animal

@tired brook Minimum mod list so far! Does not occur if the farm name is fewer than 4 characters long. Have not tested with small farmer or favourite thing names.
