if you want to use town school you should probably make another save without SVE

not everything is compatible with SVE or can be expected to be compatible, so like i said, making a new save without SVE is the only way to play with town school

okay well, the damage doesn't look too bad? when i picked up custom furniture (some of the tiles were borked) it did some weird name stuff and reverted into a chair, but i managed to trash it so maybe I can sort things out like that?

as long as your game doesnt crash that means the removal of CF went fine. Just expect to be picking up weird/invisible furniture for a while

so to get 100% perfection rating do I need 10 hearts with EVERY character or just all the core chars? cos I"m currently on 21/34 maxed which is 61% and matches what MouseyPounds says, but other people are reporting that it needs to be with ALL villagers, and I have 94 NPCs listed on my save file, but most are no longer loaded. Does that mean they no longer count towards that 34?

usually it's either that a mod just updated, or there was a mistake in the manifest. or sometimes you thought you installed it but you didn't

yeah sometimes mod makers put the wrong version number in the manifest lol
If you're absolutely sure it didn't update since you downloaded (it's happened before lol) you can manually update the version number manifest.json using any text editor (Notepad or Notepad++). This is optional because the message is harmless

hi, sorry to ask, but because the wiki is down, can someone walk me through updating SMAPI?
the mod is all in there right nothing no errors but the map and npc finder isnt working with RV
Download SMAPI and run the installer. No need to uninstall first, SMAPI will clean up old files
SVE also edits the right hand side of the map. So it might be conflicting with RV/editing the map after RV does
Also make sure you extract / unzip before running the installer
any where i can fix it?
either RV has a SVE-specific patch for the map, or you'll have to redraw it yourself

they edit the same spot on the map, there's no way you can have both visible at once ๐
RV is going to work fine in-game, it just wont be on your map
I use both RV and SVE because y not it adds more
personally that many NPCs in one save sounds hella overwhelming, you might get more out of it anyway if you make separate saves haha

I think a second version would be a giant Slime with a lot of goo and an open sticky mouth
to fix NPCs flashing into a different sprite (for example shane switches back into his default one rather than dsvo because of a mod that alters his schedule) I'd need to manually edit the sprite for that mod, right?

oh huh apparently mods don't matter for mac
If the mod edits shane's sprite, that means that it most likely has 1) A replacement sprite image for him and 2) a content patcher line of code that tells content patcher to change his sprite. Instead of changing the actual image (which means that the mod is still changing his sprite, just with the image you updated), its better to just stop the code from happening by marking it as a "comment" (putting // at the beginning of the line)
or i mean you don't need to change anything for mac
It's being discontinued so it's not recommended. Not even sure if it works properly in 1.5

You could go on Nexus and look at mods that way. It automatically lists off the most popular ones, but you can tweak the results
It will take a century I think, I'm already on page 111 of mods and so far I haven't seen one similar to Get Glam

@tired brook I noticed today that your Chests Anywhere mod has a hotkey conflict with another mod I am using (Teleport NPC by Enaium). Both use "B" as their key.

Seem to be getting a crash with PyTK when in local split screen and the second character quits (going back to non-split screen).

@fast river, "Rush Orders" seems to have this weird discrepancy where the actual config.json will have the instant price tool set to 2 but the GMCM keeps displaying it as 1.5 instead. Testing in the game at Clint's shop does in fact show the 2ร price multiplier though for the instant tool price option.
okay, I have an issue with the journal scraps... it appears that: Isla has read 13 of 11 journal scraps. I HAVEN'T. What I have read is 13 extra secret notes added by other mods. How can I fix my save file to remove these 13 extra secret notes (which don't show up in dashboard at all) so that I can find the 11 new ones? Because I don't think the loot appears until you see the notes?
Is that a mod thing? Or are these journal scraps in the vanilla game?

@dire fractal, once 7zip opens up in admin mode then go to "Tools" --> "Options" --> "System" tab --> then click the + button above both columns. Click "Apply" and then "OK" to save the new file associations. RAR files should open and behave correctly now with 7zip.

left-click the folder once so it highlights in blue --> click the blue dash button that says "Extract" --> then click the "..." button and select the game's mods folder --> click the "OK" button --> you're done. You've just installed a mod.
Yeah, custom notes will probably need to have IDs under 1000 in order to not conflict with journal scraps. Do you think Checkup should put a warning if it finds note IDs that high?

Plus SFR's trees and one of the wildflower grass replacers

it just uses the vanilla Action MineCart, which pulls up a list of the vanilla minecart locations
however, it's fairly easy to edit the warp locations of all the doors in my mod if you're okay with opening the file in tiled or a text editor!
Has anyone used Crowleyโs Arcane Tools? Itโs super dope & pairs really well with Gorgeous Weapons. I even used CJB Item Spawner to give myself the Arcane Hat & Arcane Shirt so I can really be a Wizard! (Donโt worry, I used the Item Spawner ONLY for the outfit. I removed it once an ingame day had passed)
you would just need two of them edited if you wanted to go back and forth, so one in the desert that warps to the farm and a second one on the farm edited to warp to the desert

I am using SVE, RSV, and a bunch of other location and NPC mods. I haven't run into too many issues personally. The only one I've tried that's been a problem is Extended Minecarts. I've seen a few others on Nexus that I'm not interested in that claim that they don't work. But most work fine.

You can technically get away with loading different custom maps as long as they each occupy their own slot of the 7 available during character creation.

I'm using Grandpa's Farm w/SVE right now. I like it a lot more than the vanilla farms myself. But all farms are really going to be preference of style
