It downloads as a rar file. I just needed to unzip it and then was able to just transfer to mod folder

Go to nexus mods and just download it like you did before. Trash the one in the mods folder first then replace with new one

you just download the new CP file, install it like normal, and overwrite the old files

About 70% - 80% of all mod updates have been just a minor version correction inside the manifest.json, lol

it should say 2.0.1 in the manifest.json
the problem is that if you forget to update the manifest, the nexus won't let you just change one digit in one file and upload that. so as an author you either have to wait for your next update to fix it, or push some nonsense changes
Yeah the mod author more than likely just forgot to update it from two updates ago, lol
that mod went from 1.1.0 to 2.0.0 and I bet 2.0.1 was a hotfix, so it's pretty easy to miss the manifest updates if you're in a rush like that

what's funny is that I have a mod who's manifest actually has the correct version number and Nexus has an accidental inflated version instead

The mod author actually came out and explained why Climates hasn't been updated yet. Please try to be more mindful and patient.
You can reinstall to get the command to copy, but it's just adding the smapi executable to steam

Surprisingly (or not) a lot of mods are safe to add/remove mid-game. Other than ones which add a bunch of new content (if you remove them, they'll disappear)
You should be able to add the Climates mod mid-game. I don't believe it bakes anything hard-coded into your save file or anything like that

What mod tells you "You have (x) letters in the mailbox" as a notification in the morning?

That's the right place, but you didn't copy the whole thing, the %command% part is important too as well as the quotes

I'm not creative though, so I just have a different chest for each category of item, and I try to make the chest color match what they use for the category

I initially started off that way myself. I would organize chests by the item group (resource/fruit/forage/flower/seed/etc.) and then pick a chest color that matched as close as possible to that part of the item group tool tip
It's just the easiest way to not have to think about what belongs where

I stumbled across this mod which replaces the in-game time with your computer's clock time. I'm honestly not sure how it affects the in-game time mechanics though.

depends on your definition of completed. I can usually complete all but the red cabbage in the community center (unless I'm lucky) and I'm either married or have the option to marry all within year 1 along with making enough money that there is no issue. Well, at least most of my games anyway.
That is nice, but then I would not see the game time, ideally I would want both to be seen

nah I use mods like crazy. In fact I toned them down after 1.5 update. Went from over 230 to like 80

yeah one of the problems with over-modding is that if one mod author adds a couple things that are unbalanced, the whole game balance can fall apart pretty quickly

I've tried to be careful with it, but with 300 mods I may even run into that problem
really hoping the new profit margin feature solves most of those problems
yeah true, if I were to play straight vanilla, one I would go insane without some of the mods that altar time and walking speed and two I dont know if I could pull off a year one completion and be married all by the end of winter. Guess depends on who i aim for I suppose
speaking of which, I finally found a mod that displays and increments the in-game time per minute instead of per ten minutes 😄
Heyy guys so I added long elf years from ppja abandoned mods and I can't seem to find them in get glam mirror thingy
in fact, the base walking speed and the base time of what 7 seconds per 10 minutes in game is what pushed me to mods to begin with.

You can also use the mod that prevents you from passing out at night, and just use the extra hours afforded by that, but it's probably less immersive

They should. They show up highlighted green in the SMAPI !compat table
I would double-check and make sure the keybinds for the sprint and dash are not being used at the same time for something else. That could cause a conflict and not make it work properly?

I honestly didn’t think there was a restriction given how you can freely move furniture now in 1.5
You can definitely put multiple beds in a house.

The issue with Android modding has always been finding the exact right version of a mod you can use
It might be. I pinged Pathos to see if he has an idea of what is going on, but in the meantime could you try doing a manual SMAPI install? By which I mean running the SMAPI installer yourself

Android is behind PC in versions, so anything that used to work should still, but you probably can't use the latest version of mods
Seems like SMAPI isn't fully updated. Not sure how ModDrop does it, but you could run the SMAPI installer manually and it'll do a full update. (No need to remove it from ModDrop, ModDrop will recognize the new version.)

Basically and briefly. The last version we have of smapi mobile was launched in October and it cannot run the latest version 1.4. So much so, likely that the creator of smapi mobile will go atyal to be able to update the app only in February with Erick who will send the new update 1.5 to us on the mobile

@tired brook just fyi, on moddrop your Fast Animations mod shows as Version 1.19.4 but the manifest version shows as 1.9.4, which makes SMAPI think it needs to update. I think that might be a bug?

also, manually updating the SMAPI version did make it work, but moddrop fails to detect the update and still think it needs an update. obviously an issue with moddrop, just mentioning in case someone else has the problem

Makes your life easier: Allows crafting and cooking from nearby chests as well as allowing you to auto-stash items into chests.

Expanded Storage is a mod that allows custom storages to be added via content packs, and Mega Storage is a content pack for that mod
In Mega Storage the Magic Chest is scrollable and has infinite capacity

clicking the actual smapi.exe opens a config file, double clicking the smapi application (which always worked) throws that error at my face

How long have you had *.exe files associated with the Notepad program? 
That could be your issue?
I think extensions are not being shows, that's just a .exe.txt file
since it was a config file, i opened it once with notepad...

I deleted every .xnb file related to the farmhouse and repaired the game through steam but it didn't fix the issue
try to get a screenshot of the context menu (right click) for that exe file
This may be a shot in the dark, but can you verify if you can still launch vanilla Stardew just fine?

it only launches the old smapi, uninstalls it (3.8.1) and can reinstall it (3.8.1)

But as long as I pasted the correct path it still installed just fine on the latest version
I noticed @arctic spindle's steam installing is in the Z:\ drive which sounds like a second storage drive on the computer
if i try the 3.8.2 installer it simply goes ACCES DENIED

I'm not sure what you're referring to, but that sounds like a launch options issue. Having the full launch options to check if they're valid would be the first step.

hey! this just happened and i tried to use the smapi log parser myself to check what actually happened but this won't show up as my latest log...
i can't replicate this and i have no idea what caused it but it just tried to prompt me to download some software and now it's gone
i'm not sure if this is just mod troubleshooting or if one of my mods actually did this because my sdv has never crashed
I don't own a Mac computer but would that error happen if the smapi log in question is too large of a file size?

Probably unrelated, but I've gotten some false flags in Windows Defender recently for mods, and I've had to manually create exceptions for them

@uncut edge No need to delete SMAPI or remove it from ModDrop. Just redownload SMAPI and run the installer manually, and then you can use it through ModDrop as usual.

SDV has always been on Z: and worked prior to 3.8.2 is that correct?
As far as I can tell it's usually a Windows issue, and every result I find online seems to have a different fix.
External or partition, the OS seems them as essentially the same. Might need to do a chkdsk if that's affecting it

It will run a scan on your drive to see if there are any issues it can detect

yeah turning on hidden folders and files is one of the first things I usually do when personalizing my own computer with the settings and stuff

SMAPI mods are coded in C#, whereas content packs only need to provide graphics and json data

My mod count skyrocketed when I discovered this hidden cache
It's amazing how much of the game you can modify using mostly content packs nowadays, you can have just a handful of coded mods and hundreds of content packs which totally change the game
Some could probably even make a whole new game out of Stardew Valley using only content pack
yeah the seeds thing will inflate your count by about 40 or 50
If you paste your log into https://smapi.io/log you should get a breakdown of how much content you have added by their type

I think the host needs one cabin per player in order for other people to join though

In just about all cases the folder names do not matter. In fact I don't know if they ever do, most mods detect the IDs of other mods

I am getting this from Smapi, which I assume is likely the map tileset overriding the cabin generation.
The new smapi does extra map checking to limit potential crashes. Those are warnings and they're safe
I assume map authors will slowly clean those up in the future as they push new updates
ah, gotcha, that makes sense. It's just something specific with the clutter volume on double standard that is causing cabins to be unable to populate then. Oh well
So delete these two folders then...

there's a tiny bit of tweaking to get the one you want working, but it's only like 30s if you know how to edit a config file

I can't find anything labeled Hilltop Immersive Farm 2 online, but if it's this you need to remove that map
it relies on MTN which is halfway obsolete after 1.5 and 100% discontinued
and it looks like smapi is still loading it despite being super outdated and MTN not being installed

that's smapi 3.8.2 telling map makers what they need to clean up in the future. this last update is being a little more strict about maps and tilesheets. if nothing's breaking those are nothing to worry about

if that's the case, DN is giving you most of the map and the custom IF2R map section is overwriting that bit

If you have these items in your game then delete them, then delete all updated PPJA mods entirely and reinstall them using the new download files

theres stuff you add to global.json which is fine, but the latest also includes a customlocations file without clear indication on which folder to put it in

I also want to add in Elle's Cat and Dog replacement mods and also use some of her coop animals but I'm not sure which file version exactly to download exactly for the cat and dog part and what to do with it and where to put the skins exactly so they'll work correctly. Also I want to make it so some of the cat and dog skins replace the default choices at the start of the game.
which isnt super clear which one is in use or if it combines them in some way, like, there's a map folder for trents boarding house/mermaid, then the various sve/rsv ones.. it gets muddy real fast, hehe

@wary plaza yes, if it's in your inventory or in your world (like in a chest or growing or something), you'll probably want to delete it, then follow the next steps. If that's not possible (as in you're already playing on 1.5), then I'd say backup your save file and then follow the next steps:
Delete Fruits and Veggies, More Trees, and More Food (More Recipes?)
Download the latest versions from the respective mod pages
Install the latest versions and play your game
You should also check if there are any other PPJA mods you need to update. If that's the case, then do the same thing where you delete the old version of the mod before installing the new one, don't just overwrite them
