All I could find with that message is:
Attempting to plant a seed from the current growing season (or attempting to plant Cactus Seeds) in an outdoor area outside the farm will result in the seed being destroyed, and the message "Must be planted on farm" will display.

So, I went and built the downstairs cave and set it up for growing. However, it seems it doesn't work anymore like it used to as even though it should allow for growing crops, all crops say "must be planted on farm" during my testing. Not sure if this is something I'll be able to fix unfortunately.
So it doesn't recognize the tiles as farm tiles?
oh wait...Leah has a somewhat sheet gown effect for her DesertDove style. I didn't notice it at first because of the white background that the SVO github wiki page uses.

oh my god I really wish I could have waited! My game autoupdated and I tried so freaking hard to revert the update and even after downloading the prior manifest from Steam, SMAPI kept telling me I had 1.5 installed. I finally gave up

Ahhh. Well, yeah, it's turned off now! Steam dragged me kicking and screaming into 1.5 lol but at least most of what I use is updated now

hey, sorry to ping you for a message from a week ago, but i found your screensot in the backlog and i seem to have the same issue where moving the greenhouse would leave the stones tiles like this. was it really the farm extended mod that caused this for you? i don't use the mod but have the same issue and try to narrow it down now

Alright, I'm sure that the answer is that I need to troubleshoot by removing all of the mods I have installed and slowly adding them back but I want to save some time so I wanted to check - does anyone know what might be causing the weird visual glitch or which mods to target for initial removal/testing? Some parts of it are able to be walked through and some parts of it are impassible. This is the beach farm map.

Seasonal Villager Outfits (SVO) is my favorite and no other can compare

SVO with the SVO Anime Portraits mod installed after! Make sure to overwrite the changes SVO Anime Portraits wants to make to the SVO subfolders though
Stardew Valley Expanded has a 'Lower Profit Margins' setting that reduces all sale prices by 20%. Is that just for items from that mod or should it NOT be enabled if I intend to use the built-in 1.5 margin options?
I'm not sure but if you're already planning to use the built-in margin options, I'd leave that feature off from SVE to avoid it potentially stacking, unless that's the desired effect
hi i thought i'd ask here, is there any mod that allows you to reset objects on your farm? like replace or reset all the trees, brush, terrain etc?
I'm actually curious to know if it does stack, would it stack multiplicatively or additively?
all the mods i find that have that functionality are old or broken

It certainly provides options if I want dinosaurs to be purple instead of green, but no larger changes. I use everything Elle makes. 😛

Okay I’ve been at this for almost 2 hours. I’ve gotten rid of rustic walls and iteriors. Industrial kitchen and furniture and still two tone doors. Though no longer white and brown, it’s now light brown and brown.

ah, idk about mods, but there are a lot of trees that can be cut down outside of the farm, and i think they grow back quickly if not immediately. and you can plant several trees on farm and off. @dire fractal
theoretically yes. In the manifest.json for Way Back Pelican Town, add a dependency to Flower Valley and it should work

If needed = always, but yes. Although it starts using indices at index 2000, so if you're near that your items might start overlapping with JA and cause Bad Things ™️

It's indeed quite young so you'll find several spelling and grammar issues along with convoluted sentences.
But we're working hard on fixing those and we're currently working on a major update! (1.2.0)

We've fixed most dialogue errors on the non-bachelors so the only real dialogue issues will be with the bachelors.
But we're working hard to fix that 😄

you can disable just the dinosaurs in my mod (or any of the other ones) by changing its value to "false" in the config

Hey @royal arrow, it looks like the ALYS mod uses XNB files. Does that mean I can use ALYS in conjunction with "Stardew Foliage Redone - A Nature Toned Map Recolour" mod? 
which version of ALYS are you looking at?

you can use an existing framework instead, where someone else did the code lol
then you're just playing with json files, which are fancy text files
you do then need to learn what fields are available for the framework(s) you're trying to use, but that's LOADS easier than learning C# lol

I feel this kind of troubleshooting is gonna be a bit tricky to figure out. NPC Map Locations is using this minimap coloring (on the left) when it should actually be using the SFR minimap coloring (on the right) instead. 
@fast river is there a way to have JA provide me with reserved IDs for my fish? That's the only simple way I can think of doing this

To patch the extended spritesheets you'd need to reference SpaceCore though (I think), unless you gave the texture to JA when registering the dummy item

Okay so I'm adding this change to the content.json file and going to see if this fixes my NPC Map Locations recolor for both the minimap and the main map.

I also noticed there is a typo with the folder name for:

Hey lovelies! I'm trying to get my SDV game running again after taking a break for a couple years. I have all my favorite mods back up and running in the new content patcher format via Vortex except the 2Cute Greenhouse.
I downloaded the ContentPatcher update of it from this post:

But no luck. When I go in the building my trees and plants are there from the save game, but the layout is the standard greenhouse (see attached).

for learnings, the tweak you attempted was a good attempt but not quite in the CP format. The CP documentation starts here https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Content_Patcher
does the 1.4 version of skill prestige work with 1.5, getting mixed messages from old comments
alternative route would have been to create a config setting specific to that patch, so that you could toggle that off via the config.json, but that's extra when you can just comment out the one you don't want hehe
note if this mod ever updates, your edit will be gone and you'll need to do it again
@rare quest Just caught the SVE update. If I'm already on a version past 1.10, do I still need to delete all the existing folders to update, or is overwriting ok?
I think you dont need to but it doesnt hurt to.
I always recommend throwing out folders instead of overwriting.
SVE is condensed to one folder now so it's not too hard haha.

Well, there is one folder, but in that folder is multiple folders, so I just take the multiple folders and stick them directly into the Mod folder because I remember the last time I had a mod folder within a folder within Mods, the mod didn't install
Back in the days of SVE 1.0, I had players replace the town.xnb.

There's a secret pathway players cane take to get inbetween the shortcut warps, allowing them to place flooring decorations. So it could actually be utilized if the entrance is there.

hey all! usually i can fix most modding issues myself but this one is stumping me. i really wanted to start a new single-player play through for 1.5, and i updated all the mods i could and went in. everything was working fine until i got to the community center. once i actually go inside, the game crashes. i tried taking out all my mods, playing vanilla/without smapi in my regular steam directory, and it still crashes. is this an error with my save file since i created it with mods? or is it a missing file in my content? any help would be appreciated, here is my log link: https://smapi.io/log/27aac71b583c43f99c948ad892ce3212

@obsidian spear Oh, sorry, you need to be level 25 for the role. You'll get a ping from the bot to say you have the farmer role when you do, or you can say !level in #governors-mansion to see your current level. (You have the level 10 role, so it shouldn't take too long to get it though!)

I've noticed that the data file startup_preferences has a section for <clientOptions> which has a bunch of the in-game settings you normally tweak..
But when starting up a new farm, the save file generates a <options> which has the default default "options" and resets keybinds and the rest; is there a way or a mod that can transplant the startup_preference's <clientOptions> into the farm save's <options> ?
I'm new to all this, so it just seems weird to me that we have something called startup_preferences but the client options like keybinds, stowing, zoom and all that - resets each time a farm is made (the other stuff carries over though)

It doesn't run the commands and when I run help, it doesn't list the commands, making me believe it's not installed correctly. Are there any logs I can get that can point me to the problem? To be clear, the game isn't crashing as is common with some other greenhouse mods, the interior map just isn't loading for it.

@unreal stratus Unfortunately the game doesn't have any standardized mechanism to get a list of machines (or even to know if a given object is a machine), so that'd be difficult. CJB Cheats Menu would probably need to manually call the APIs for each machine mod multiple times per tick or something, which would have a performance impact.

So how would I get this update key working correctly with Mod Update Menu? "Get Dressed Pack" is v1.0.1 and is and add-on for the "Get Glam" mod, which is v1.1.0 right now. Is there a way to give an add-on it's own correct update key so SMAPI doesn't give me the "These mods have no update keys in their manifest." debug message?

Bethesda games are really complicated to mod so you need a mod manager. SDV modding is far more simple, just install SMAPI and extract mods to the Mods folder. That's why we recommend manual install.
If you're determined to use a mod manager, we recommend ModDrop over Vortex. Vortex is quirky with SDV

this smapi log thing wouldnt help there is no crash log
You should have a smapi-latest
there should be a smapi-latest.txt
though if you have custom furniture thats kind of buggy right now
Windows R %appdata% they are stored in roaming
And despite having no crash, the parser will show us what errors you got
(I say like I'm able to translate errors at all :D )

Agh, I'm using the Fishing Made Easy mod with a setting that's supposed to make all the fish catchable regardless of season, time, or weather, but I've been fishing for in-game days and I have yet to catch a single Walleye or Tiger Trout for the commumity center.

That seems like something is just Load-ing the tree file instead of using EditImage

regular trees yes, but not fruit trees i dont think
I haven't looked to see how fruit trees are stored but that would be my guess

Heya, I'm having some trouble updating SMAPI to the latest version. When I try to open the game, it says "You're running Stardew Valley 1.5.1, but this version of SMAPI is only compatible up to Stardew Valley 1.4.5." I don't know if this has to do with my mods maybe not being up to date, or if this is SMAPI. It said on the wiki to just download the newer version to update it, but I'm still getting this message.

The error message is specific to SMAPI, so it would have to do with the version of SMAPI you downloaded. Could you take a screenshot of the zip folder name you have for SMAPI?

Most likely, yes. The mod author is dropping support on Jan 1 for both NPC Adventures and Quest Framework. I think someone said they would try to look at NPC Adventures' code to see if they could determine how to update it, but that there aren't guarantees.
