Oh dear, I've never really played that game and only modded it haha, I think I probably just don't care for it at all and keep thinking all the customizing I'm doing will turn it into something else :P
I've always asked myself how anyone could ever have played 1000 hours of it on a console with no mods, but now I know there are more 😄
The thing is like, they can play it with mods just fine, even after 24 or 8 or 0 hours even.
But a curated 800+ mod guided experience which takes 30+ man-hours to implement is not for them
I think I played a couple hundred hours on console without mods, before getting it on PC and then modding the heck out of it and getting presumably a thousand hours out of the extra stuff, not to mention the thousand hours troubleshooting 
I am sweating at the number of hours I have spent modding vs the number of hours I have spent playing, like in theory I know exactly what you mean but on the other I feel attacked haha
But for Stardew is different 😔

Check this thread https://forums.stardewvalley.net/threads/common-modding-issues-in-1-5.3199/, you might be able to fix it with a map edit depending on the cause.
But for softer conflicts like overlay on top of an edit, it doesn't know there's anything wrong and you'll see visual glitch

I understand that, just clarifying in case you didn't see that there is another way.
And to be cheesy, it will be unfamiliar until you try it! You can always make copies of the files as back up, before you edit.
If you're not comfortable going for it that's fine, there is the option to wait for an update.

Depending on the permissions on the mod, someone may be able to post an unofficial update.
But you're right. There may never be an update. In that case, there are other mods you could use instead

Looks like Pathoschild did the last update for Omnifarm. Might be willing to do another.
The SMAPI portion (what Pathos updated) is fine though, it just needs a minor map edit to fix the greenhouse crash. I can't look at it right now but can do it later/tomorrow.

well me problem is that i just came back after a rather long break. Not that i don't still love it, I just feel like, after 3000 hours, I've done all I can with it. Mods, no mods, self-made challenge runs.

So it turns out the mods don't conflict, one just makes the other redundant.
UI Info Suite makes Better Ranching redundant.
I even did a run once where I challenged myself to see how quickly I could complete all of the in-game achievements and challenges (and the com center) doing the absolute minimum amount of farming. I tried to do a run of serial marriage/divorce, but i couldn't bring myself to disappoint the character that badly.
I personally prefer the way Better Ranching handles it, but it is a matter of preference. I don't like the weird hand-UI that UI Info Suite uses to indicate pets are needed lol

@dire fractal I get like that with games once I "figure them out." It's why I gave up on Minecraft. If there's no story to progress or if I don't have friends playing with me, I lose motivation fast.

I think I saw something here about SDV Expanded sprites being invisible, but I can't find it now. They were fine yesterday, and invisible when I opened the game today.

Someone had the issue because they were using an NPC portrait and sprite replacer that was causing issues.
Are you using a mod that replaces NPC portraits / sprites?
(You can use mods, including that mod, on Mac.)
Using barn animal replacement mods, but nothing that should replace any NPCs.

Normally I'd suggest some dialogue mods, but a lot of those seem broken still.
SVE is of course one of the cornerstones of gameplay changing mods.
I'd throw my mod list at you but I haven't updated it for 1.5, so you'd have to proceed at risk (and very carefully read mod descriptions and comments)

if you reinstall SMAPI, then yes, redoing your launch options will make it run with mods
there is nothing wrong with my smapi but the game say a mod crashed

@orchid locust we got another data point for the errors you're having on season change, some of the mods you share with the other game that might be causing it are better garbage cans, better garden pots, better hay and deep woods--i suspect deep woods honestly. if it's not any of those let me know

Removing NPCs is always kinda dangerous.
But SMAPI made us feel safe and protected 
the intro quest logs the names of any npcs you start the game with, not sure if the game trys to pull stuff from that though.
I have an update for Karmylla's but haven't sent it yet because I hadn't decided whether or not to edit special orders <link removed> if anyone wants to test, no one commented on any issues. ( the dropbox for Pierre's is in the bins in front of his register as adding the vanilla one needs more map reorganization than a fix should really do)

i still havent had an actual game session for stardew yet, i’m still waiting for a couple of mods to update, specifically SVR2, Grapeponta’s Vanilla Interiors, and BFAV (or it’s replacement to come out)
I started a new game without SVE to experience the new 1.5 content, but...
BFAV in particular because somebody mentioned that all the animals revert to vanilla animals instead of them disappearing, and I already have enough animals as it is.
I'm really missing the richness of the stuff SVE adds.

FAVR is pretty close but it might still be like a month or something, MCN's currently kidnapped the author to do a framework for us which is almost done :D

but there's a mod out that has a really neat workaround for "crafting" weapons
they made buildables with STF shops built in, and the cost of the items at the shop is the materials you need to craft them

i think i might’ve made the prismatic weapons too over-powered- it was supposed to be double the strength of SVE’s tempered galaxy weapons, but it can one-shot anything

I don’t get the reasoning behind why 0 damage in JA still does damage? That confused me a lot. Also the Legendary Knockback Hammer knocked a slime into the wall 10 tiles away in less than a millisecond.
So maybe I should nerf that a smidge.

some CP furniture mods work, but custom furniture is broken atm
DustBeauty updated their industrial stuff, and it includes a fix for Mi's Country Furniture
some that work are yellog's (just updated), modern gothic interior (not updated, but works fine for furniture), eemie's classy new interior (only on moddrop) and yeah industrial furniture works as well
may I have a small list? the most common issue I'm encountering is missing textures and tables glitching between vanilla and modded texture

I just downloaded stardew valley expanded-diverse with stardew valley diverse seasons and am having some issues. the expanded diverse mod works just fine. Heck even smapi says its running perfectly. i rememder yelog has some table glitch and the spruce tree conflicts with the closets

I have a question about SVE/Immersive Farm2. I kind of want to play without SVE(I do still like it and will go back to it, just want a break) for a while but wold love to be able to keep using the IF as I absolutely love it. Is there any way for it to be made able to be used seperately from SVE or will it always require it?

Speaking of recolours, anyone else having issues with mismatched interior doors? They are dark on the bottom, light on top. I use atddsdv along with Emmie and one of Yellog's mods. Not sure if one is disagreeing with one of tte others.
you also need to update a lot of mods in order to get other mods working again, that list at the top tells you everything you need to update!
I've actually seen it in sample pics in a mod on Nexus too, lol.
SVE won't work properly until you update all of those mods @blazing jetty (PyTK, FTM, TMXL, JA, and SVE itself), and you also need the mod expanded preconditions utility in order for JA to load

the mod named Expanded Preconditions Utility is now a requirement for Json Assets, which many of your other mods require in order to load
This is a common problem with interior recolors because of how doors work, but I'm not sure which one it's an issue with. I'd just add/remove until you narrow it down - it's not too difficult an edit to make, either :) The doors are on townInterior and Cursors, but there's a semi-transparent door near the top of townInterior that often gets missed

i can assure you map location, chestanywhere, content patcher, & villige outfit isn't causing that
bad luck or villagers walking through them, nondestructive NPCs will help with that

it wasn't obvious from your log, but the usual causes for PPJA giving error items are not updating properly (you need to delete and reinstall, not overwrite) or, more likely, having used Longevity/MCM in the past and having old XNB files
you need to follow the instructions on the wiki to reset your game files on steam or GOG

They're all in here c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\Mods, there are a bunch of SVE related folders.

It looks like you are or were using Vortex at some point too, so you'll have to completely remove them from there as well.
@naive drum I don't know what added/moved the chest there, but it won't be removed on its own; you can place items in the void and they'll stay there. Does it have any special name or contain any items?

yeah anything that draws to the game window that's not been updated will look weird if you have different scales

The separate UI Scale and Zoom is new to 1.5, so basically every mod that hasn't been, not just like recompiled, but completely rewritten in some aspects to accommodate that, will now have everything offset when they don't match

Hey! just a question would the old dialogue mods work without problems or are there any dialogue changes in 1.5?
I don't believe there were significant dialogue changes this time around, except as relates to new content.
Hey i wanna ask, does anyone use Ace Expanded Farm?
I run into a problem where the pytk failed to normalize tilesheets, as a result all my trees and decorations tiles are gone in the expanded farm. Have any of you encountered such problems or maybe you possibly know what could be wrong?
I made sure to delete the old files in Mods folders before i updated to the new ones, i checked content patchers and other supporting mods as well, every mods work fine just this one seems wrong.
@royal arrow can you verify something on Line Sprinklers for me? I placed a Left facing on a patch of tilled soil and then was unable to move it
quick question, i wanted to update DustBeauty's furniture set and interior but they just come as ZIPs? shouldnt they be in a folder?

My friend encountered the same problem but his is also fine, so it is something with my files
It seems there was a conflict with other mod.
In my case, when I local coop, after the day end, it won't save and freezes.
The mod in question are Spacecore probably, it conflicts with PyTK which in turn broke Animal Husbandry Mod (When I got the tool via mail). And after the selling window SMAPI catch some errors and freezes. Not a crash, but still annoying lol.
JA also failed to inject recipes in local coop, although i still can get the custom item via item spawner.
Hmm, i deleted spacecore since on launch there was red texts. Right now i have animalhusbandry, automate, content patcher, mail framework, pytk, skullcavern
Weirdly that also happened to me, and in my coop too so i deleted that mod
local coop is a new thing, expect..many growing pains.

Yeah, it's just a few days after 1.5 released, i expect at least 1 month for a few of my installed mods to work correctly lol.
@shy cedar Just realized it after a few tries of troubleshooting lol, now i've deleted that mod. Haven't tried playing it tho, hopefully it run smoothly.
Am I able to use both “Seasonal Villager Outfits” as well as “Seasonal Outfits - Slightly Cuter Aesthetic” at the same time? I’m able to use multiple grass content packs together so I was wondering if I could do the same with the npc outfits? 🤔

not really, but seasonal/cute seasonal already do have pools of outfits, and they're frequently adding more
so, seasonals the best one-stop shop
If it's CP, you could merge them and edit the content.json yourself. it's gonna be a lot of works tho.

more than that, considering they're literally the same mod with different assets
you would have to pick other times to have one or the other chosen, or use some of the randomization tokens (assuming it even works for pngs)
I mean in theory its possible, but as soon as you open one of those mods and see just how large those content files are.. yeah :p

And i imagine seasonal outfits is way bigger lol

I’ll have to double check and try again when I get home from work today...I noticed I kept going in this weird “update loop” with the skill prestige and its sister mods (cooking, luck, magic) even after installing the unofficial updates from the links provided by the smapi log checker.
afaik it is an XNB mod. not SMAPI, so there's no compatibility

then again stuff like that is why I never get more than like half the cc done before starting a new save because of adding new mods :p

I screwed myself up and kind of overwhelmed myself by doing a mass mod install instead of installing everything one by one 😅
So I started from scratch and building my mod library back up in a much more patient manner this time, lol
I think Climates of Ferngil are the only thing I am waiting on right now... to make my current 'batch'.

yep, I'm also adding all of the new npc adding mods that have turned up since 1.4 that I havent tried yet.. it was..interesting having the first starter quest show 63 npcs to meet without even adding any of the loose npcs
I immediately got lost in ridgeside 5 minutes into wandering the game world :p
Once I get my personal modpack complete (if there ever is such a thing 😆), I can then send zip the mods folder and give it to my 10 year old daughter so we can play together 😊

Honestly I wish, some of thes craft items were a bit clearer on what they were for/used for (The Glass Jar) I get it as a craft able early, when the one that makes Jelly would be more useful
with lookup anything you can hit a keybind to have it spit out what it can make when you hover over it
I also take it that 63 NPCs ( are SDV,SDVE, Ridgeside, Escape to Scarpe
I have 87 npcs and it is not a ball having to look for all of them ugh
I only have SDE so far so I think my NPC count is like 31? 🤔

it's fun having modded in npcs that kinda clash in story-telling or should have interactions with other modded in npcs but don't
