If you look at the whole log, the "warnings" consists of... mods that didn't load, mods that harmony patch the game, and mods that... right.

Question about Garden Village: I know that PPJA needed updating for the update, and by the new readme for GV, can I just install the PPJA updates and GV should already patch them by default?
Does it matter if Winter Grass is not updated yet? It's listed as a requirement for SVE?
So I have the map and what not for SVE but the NPC's arent included in the introduction quest.. anyone know why?
It is not a hard requirement, it just keeps the grass from dying in the winter (since it won't regrow outside the farm). More Grass can also do this.
The debate to wait for mods to update or play 1.5 without mods is a tough one.

I updated it via the mega pack but it's still telling me to update.
That list is only for SMAPI mods. Content packs depend on their parent framework along with the types of changes they make and how they make them.
I think they forgot to update the manifest, because i get the same issue too

If you look at the mod I linked, it re-adds all the new furniture without editing your existing furniture. (and craftables, and flooring, and springobjects, and...) You can also use that as an example for learning how to edit tilesheets without replacing the whole thing.

It's an optional requirement for some of the new NPCs and Gunther. Krobus is currently commented out since {{KrobusStyle}} messes with it. Include also seems to have broken. I should ping the author about that.

It is a completely separate pack, so you can if you want. This is mainly for if you use some recolors, map replacers, stuff like that which may revert vanilla content. The best solution is to wait patiently for those mods to be updated though :)

If you're using a map replacer, the mod needs to be edited to remove the bed. I tried adding bed removal to that pack I linked earlier but the way I was doing it wasn't working, so I need to do it again.

It's probably working, but when you use additional software that not a lot of people use (in this channel, for this game, etc, obviously not in general!), you also shrink the pool of people who can help. So basically you need to really know how to do it yourself and understand what it's doing for you, or wait for help from either the manager devs or others who use it :)

Hi, this is probably a really dumb question, but I've been wanting to get into the PPJA mods for a while, but there's so many. Is there a like "starting point" or good place to look for these mods? It's a smidge overwhelming for people like me who have only been using mods for a short time π
Seems like waiting a couple days is the play right now.
Instead of the mega pack, you could start with just one of them :) I like Fruits and Veggies for a more manageable addition to crops.

It just depends on what they change and how they change it. Even mods that completely recolored all the vanilla furniture would be fine as long as they only edited what they changed, for example. But ones that completely replaced the file will be broken.
(But vibing with vanilla is a good idea after a huge update anyway :) )

All of Pathoschild's mods and SMAPI will be updated day 1. Most major frameworks will be updated within the first week. Content packs aren't likely to break and should function as intended once their frameworks are updated.
Please be patient with modders. You can check the recently updated tab on Nexus and ModDrop to see which mods have received updates. Anything on (or after) 12/21/2020 should be 1.5 compatible.

All of my mods were updated today. You gave me a fright thinking they got removed somehow.
You often don't need to, and mod authors should tell you when you have to, but for such chaos and big updates it's worth just doing clean install just in case :)

It looks like your folder is missing the dlls, which can sometimes be caused by an overzealous antivirus. Can you try again and double check? Did you download from Discord or the forums?

Hrm, looking at the unpacked sprites though, all the beach stuff is a separate portrait set. The portrait mods for the game may not be mega broken. Anyone with a portrait mod had a chance to check?

Does not work on new locations and may have some bugs. It's been tested, but it's just a recompiled version and doesn't make any changes.

@lapis cave Mods won't break automatically, so many mods may either not need updates at all or just need recompiling, so they'll be updated officially (or unofficially if open source) as time goes on.

They will definitely need updating, though my bandaid pack here <#archived-modded-support message> should fix some gameplay critical issues. All big mods like this will need some updates though so just be patient or see vanilla for first time in awhile π

How do certain mods like Automate work in multiplayer? Will the host need the mod, or will all chests be automated if any player in the game has the mod? Or will it only automate items players with the mod puts into chests?

Yeah just updated it for 1.5 no new dialogue until the mod owner plays through vanilla, that's how I understood it
Mega Pack should be updating now. Hopefully Nexus doesn't eat it. Fixes the issue with the More Recipes manifest as well.

Everyone got new dialogue, but if they only carefully edit/replace entries it might mostly be fine. I can think of a couple things that will need updating regardless though

Mods that completely replace all vanilla maps will need updating for some critical gameplay content, though I have a pack which may bandage if it in the meantime.

I was using mod "Seasonal outfits", but after game updated, I decided to uninstall mods and Smapi
my save file working just fine, I didn't use large mods, witch changes map, characters or something

Hmm, for Gwen's you can try installing <#archived-modded-support message> There are a lot of options in the config you can turn off if you don't have any other problems, but turn on objects/craftables/furniture. Let me know if it helps or causes new exciting issues.

@split patrol You can try it, I haven't tested it specifically. It won't fix the greenhouse not being recolored but craftables/furniture/etc will exist but not match. Although I think Gwen already edits pretty selectively, so maybe "mismatch" is what was meant in the first place

sorry, i got an unrelated crash and i couldnt even get to smapi, give me a sec
screen shotted it because i cant type well at the moment. I have custom furniture but the folder is empty as i haven't added any thing to it

There are lots of different kinds of mods, so there isn't really a number.
it's more a question of what your computer can handle I think

yeah, also depending on your machine, the game might take quite a while to load, and you might start getting some slowdowns during gameplay

correct! some people have been having issues with it not deleting the old version, it will tell you if that's the case and you can try deleting it manually

Running the current SMAPI installer and selecting 2 should uninstall it "properly", which might help. You can also leave it installed and just run Stardew via the original StardewValley.exe to play without mods temporarily.

@sharp furnace PyTK/TMXL is not your problem heh, check out the "mods could not be loaded" section for all the explanations :) You have a ton of updates to do, including FTM, JSON Assets, you need Expanded Preconditions Utility, etc

Deleting everything in the mods folder shouldn't break anything then, though SMAPI does come with two by default (Save Backup and Console Commands). Installing SMAPI again later would reinstall those anyway, though, so it's fine.
Yeah, it's A Toned Down Stardew Valley that's messing with my the interior of my farmhouse. And there doesn't seem to be any sort of setting in the config file that I can find that turns off just the interior furniture. though i guess I could just have a triple-wide bed.

Looks like the one with the error, Custom Reminders, isn't updated yet.
Also you can update Custom NPC Exclusions if you want; the version that comes bundled with SVE currently has an older update key in it, but it's the same version.
Can anyone report on whether Mod Update Menu is working for them? It's giving me a Mono-related error (I'm on Mac), but I do have Mono installed so I'm not sure if I need to reinstall Mono again (!) or if it's an SDV 1.5 problem that needs an update.
