How far through the save are all of you, and SVE's a bit iffy in multiplayer
Stuff like if farmhand (not host) marry custom NPC or something it'll break

iirc Save Anywhere has some incompatibilities with other mods, that may be the source of your issue. I don't think there are other mods like it though o:

Parts of the immersive farm map are showing up with what I believe are vanilla coloring
I'm trying to figure out if this is a tileset issue, a map issue, or something else

you might be using recolour mod that is not fully compatible with SVE
It adds some tilesheets that are not in vanilla so they won't be changed by some recolour mods

Is there a way to fix the tops of the waterfalls, or is that just something I'll have to live with (I'm fine either way)
you can fix it by editing the few tiles in the sve files. It'll require a graphics program that can handle .png files and a bit of effort to recolour the tiles by hand c: I can tell you where to find the tiles

Stardew Valley Expanded\ [CP] Stardew Valley Expanded\assets\Tilesheets there will be the 4 .png files you'll need to edit (all named season_z_extras ). The tiles on top of the waterfalls are right under ladder tiles, next to waterfall
its rtgoat's longetivity mod apparently!
and the tiles to colour match to your recolour should be inside whatever recolour mod you're using inside it's assets folder. The ones named season_outdoorsTileSheet will be a good reference as there are the cliffs there.

but I don't know about a time slower
Control the flow of time in the game: speed it up, slow it down, or freeze it altogether. This can happen automatically or when you press a key in the game.

if you simply recolour the tiles there is no coding needed.
if you want to be slightly more fancy with the edit you can make it a stand alone Content Patcher mod that will overwrite the SVE tiles with your recolour. It doesn't require c# either

I'm screwing around with mods, and I got Krobus in my house. He's supposed to be silent on Fridays right? Apparently when he gives you the Stardrop for 13 hearts he does talk?

certain things in the game are "hardcoded" meaning, some extra stronk code is needed to make them happen lol
so depending on the requirements for spouse / roommate to give the player a stardrop, it may override any dialog that was supposed to happen that day, i.e. Krobus saying "..." on Friday

I don't know about the bouquet specifically but be careful because rn farmhands marrying a custom npc will crash the game
Oh, thanks, i just noticed that when coop player tries to date custom npc in SDE game doesnt detect that
they are invisible in events and wont let you check their info
unless you are on the map where the npc is located then you can check their info*

i also have gender neutrality mod but have canon dialogue expansion ;w; it sucks that dialogue mods cant be reliably combined

dialog mods can be combined, it just takes time
you'd have to make sure you don't have more than 1 mod trying to edit the same dialog, i.e. summer_1
in this case though, dependencies would be the way to go

I just realized there is a gender neutral version of Canon-Friendly Dialogue if that’s something you’re interested in. You could have Gender Neutralilty load after it since CFDE is just an expansion after all.

Yep. Gender Neutrality should automatically load after it, so basically just download the gender neutral version of CFDE along with it and it should be all good.
(btw check the optional files for CFDE to find it)

no, because CFDE adds new lines, not replace them.

Yes, this is a known incompatibility once you get past the vanilla chest size. The mod author for ChestEx is aware and had said they would fix it, but it sounds like they haven't yet

I have chocolate in my inventory cheat menu but i want to actually make it
welp, worse come to worst, you can check out what the recipe is by poking in the mod* files
they were newborn, they grew at a normal rate, but at the final stage before turning into an NPC, they aged down and disappeared

hmm weird. the default setting in Child to NPC is that your child should spend one month as a toddler before becoming a real NPC

have you updated to the latest smapi, content patcher? child to npc and custom npc fixes have unofficial updates that are not on nexusmods
I’m using CP 1.19, the latest Child to NPC fix, and the latest Custom NPC Fixes update.
does smapi give any errors when you loaded the save file?
you could maybe try letting your child grow up completely without the mods, then use them. when i was testing i used save files with toddlers that are already grown up
no errors from it at all, and i’ve tried that before with the same outcome
i could look into it further if you want if you upload a smapi log with 'patch summary'

i’ll upload it soon, but i took a look at the patch summary and everything was applied, which is odd. also the log i’m sending uses child age up instead of babysitter so i could check and see if it happens with others
ah i see, both all of them apply the patches but the child doesn’t do anything/age up

i’ve had the clone issue once, but it resolved itself and after that this new issue occured- and yes i do have sprites loading
I aged my child up 3 days early cos I wanted her to attend the Night Market with her Dad. She seems okay. Aside from the doppelganger which disappears if i exit and reenter the farmhouse.
If you aren't actively using those mods perhaps remove them all and see what happens
If not, add them in one by one and see what happens lol
yeah i'm guessing removing mass production might help but it's SOOOOOO useful, and it wasn't an issue the last time i played but i can't figure out what's different now. I'm coming back to playing after a little break and i don't /think/ i added anything new but my memory is terrible
I added a couple mods today and now I get this error any time I try to look at a chest I have in my farm, and the cursor lags a ton. Is the error JA related? All I can make out is it seems to be something related to boots

Dumping Mass Production did allow it to start up thanks, although i am sad i will have to go back to massive lines of machines to produce in bulk 
Upgraded Casks / Upgraded Kegs / Upgraded Preserves Jars mimic quite a bit of the Mass Production functionality, maybe you can swap to those?

there's the StardewValleyExpanded folder, and then a bunch with [CM] [CP] [FTM] [JA] [TMX] prefixes in the folder name. should all of those be in Mods/ ?

ye I thought it might involve a bit of JA item ID shuffle, because I had a JA item in that chest change to a new JA item, but even after toggling off everything new, I'm still seeing the error
do you have any error items?
My theoretical rewrite would remove ID shuffling and item name conflicts, but it would break so many other mods (PFM and FTM for instance) that I'm not sure it is worth it

I've found 2 people so far in this chat that seemed to mention a mod that added JA boots and Wear More Rings may have been interacting badly. I think the JA item that shuffled was the rain boots from Rain Gear
Not sure how to fix, though, since I did try toggling off Rain Gear to see if that helped, and it didn't :c
hi im new to mods and i was wondering what would happen if i go on a vanilla farm with mods? would anything happen to my farm if i disabled all of the mods except portraits and recolors?
you can go on a vanilla save with mods, but you cant go on a modded save in vanilla (depends on the mods)

question about the unofficial update to BFAV: There's two folders in the zip, one "Paritee's Better Farm Animal Variety", one "...Source". Some of the source files look like they should be overwriting some of the other files? But there's no installation instructions, just a blank readme file. Anyone able to point me towards an install guide?
SMAPI doesn't go into your mods file, it's the only 'mod' that doesn't. Instead, unzip it somewhere and double click the correct install file for your OS (Windows, Mac, or Linux) and follow the prompts

if you have the cjb cheat menu, you can set to max daily luck and catch legendary fish. but some only appears when you have reached a specific level

Hello hello 🙂 Wondering if anyone here has SDV Expanded installed? Been thinking of installing it but also wondering if there’s any risk of glitch / crashes.
SVE changes a lot in the game, so there is some risk of glitches, especially when you use SVE with other mods. It's not compatible with a lot of other mods, so you'd have to read mod descriptions carefully (and mod comments), as well as the SVE incompatible mods list
Fair enough! I still have a few endgame achievements to reach for my current playthrough. But I’m finally retiring my 10 year old laptop so I thought it’d be a nice opportunity to download SVE too hahah

Both Android SMAPI ports are currently broken. ZaneYork is aware of the issue. There is no ETA for a fix. A large portion of the graphics code got abruptly changed which caused the port to break.

I think I'll just have to say goodbye to this save and start over

I tested rolling back my save to an older backup, still had the error. Can confirm it's the boots from Rain Gear that get shuffled into a new item, but it's not the typical JA item shuffle in which the item looks different but still has the same name. In this case, hovering over the item causes the error in SMAPI, and there's no tooltip identifying what the item is.

Hi! I need a bit of help navigating through Naver, I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask but it has to do with mods. I'm mainly trying to find older mods however it only let me look up to page 255 for retexture and I wanted to look at mods even older than that. Have they been moved to another spot? Like some retex archives or is 255 pages the limit. Ty!
teh's fishing overhaul messes with fish data, so you can't catch some fish that are added with mods if you use that

Can only assume the xnb is outdated and the sprite sheet has changed since it was made. but I don't know.
you can reset the files. If you use Steam, Right-click the game in the library list, Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity

yeah, that sheet is no longer compatible with the game, you'll either have to find a CP conversion or make one yourself by opening the xnb and pasting the relevant bits into a template

I've come back after several months, I noticed there's a mod called Hybrid Crop Engine, are there any mods that it works with?
not sure, but on the nexus description page, if you click Requirements, it'll list both the mods required to run Hybrid Crop Engine, but also what mods require Hybrid Crop Engine (AKA are content packs for it)
I did check that and it seemed kind of sparse, and I noticed that the BETA for Cannibis Kit is compatible
I wonder if the PPJA mod guys are going to make more of their mods compatible
I think the biggest hurdle is the number of arty assets

In the past I had to stop playing mutliplayer on my modded game because the host computer would lag really badly, has I've attempted to adjust the Automate intervals to only work once a day but nothing has seemed to fix it. Is it possible the most recent SMAPI has helped this?
So I’m excited for 1.5, but also worried about it breaking a lot of mods I use. I’ve been playing modded long enough for it to feel weird when I switch back to vanilla...
yo anyone know why overwolf thinks that i dont have stardew valley installed? its not a piirated version and its on steam so it should work right?
not every mod will break, so you won't necessarily have to go back to vanilla. You'd just have to remove any glitching / broken mods, and the mod authors may update them (or there may be unofficial updates). If some mods don't get updated at all, then you'll have to remove those permanently, but there may be mods that replace the functionality!
You can also make a backup of your entire game folder to keep playing 1.4.5 with all your mods, safe and sound.

there's a screenshot in that guide that shows you that after installing SMAPI, the folder location is listed in the SMAPI installer window. That's why I said "copy the text it tells you to copy."
There's also a note in that guide that tells you what to do if the SMAPI installer says it can't find your game
Apologies because I think I mixed up whether you were working on the Steam options step versus installing SMAPI in the first place

@dire fractal you're getting a lot of errors from custom furniture which is probably slowing the game down
i suggest removing the custom furniture packs you have first, checking if the mod works without them, and if it does add them back in one at time

if anyone else uses the Underground Secrets mod, do y'all know how to lower the chance for the sudden pitfalls? it seems like the lower I go, the more traps I run into, which is irritating. But an increasing number of these traps are pitfalls that dump me onto a lower floor. Sometimes onto another pit trap, which is aggravating because I never get the chance to actually do any mining before my food runs out 'cause i have to keep using it to heal up from falling.
you can adjust the chance percentage by editing the config file in the mod's folder.
again this is a sdv server and you'd have much better luck googling it or joining a minecraft related server.
however i do know a bit about minecraft mods

Both Android SMAPI ports are currently broken. ZaneYork is aware of the issue. There is no ETA for a fix. A large portion of the graphics code got abruptly changed which caused the port to break.

ahhh you have Toshinori! Can you check the mod description on nexus? It has some details regarding the Content Patcher Animations errors. Some can be fixed, some will just be and you kinda ignore them

so you can back up your entire game folder to keep playing 1.4.5, and then give time for mod authors to update (I'm planning on doing that and waiting 2 months minimum lol)

well vortex is functional, but it isnt really built for sdv so to speak. that’s why its more recommended to do it manually and just switch out the folders when updating.

As for the mod manager, we recommend manual install. If you're determined to use a mod manager, ModDrop is recommended over Vortex

Ye premium subscriptions on nexus give you access to this nifty thing. For free you can use Wabbajack, which is a superpowered mod manager, but it won't auto download mod updates for you unless you have a premium subscription. I think that's how that goes o.o

PlushBean, if it's possible to use the config(s), if available, I would recommend that route, to turn off the changes from 1 mod so the other mod loads.
You could add dependencies, but how that would work would vary based on which 2 mods you're trying to force into playing together

fun fact: I narrowed down the odd lag I was getting while looking at the contents of a chest! Turns out Chests Anywhere + Remote Fridge Storage causes a fair bit of slowdown. Removing Remove Fridge Storage got rid of the lag

No worries, we typically recommend having 1-2 messages even if they're on the longer side. Do you have SDV installed to a custom location, rather than the default location? Also are you using Steam?

The CP error you have is also for Toshinori. Did you tweak anything? If not, try uninstalling and reinstalling Toshinori, then running the game again
That's good! I suspect the reason the SMAPI installer is doing the weird closing thing is for the same error you get with trying to open SMAPI, but I have no idea why you're seeing the error, sorry :c

Rant I'm sure everyone is familiar with: I think I'm spending more time plotting out what mods to use and what's compatible with what than actually playing. It's a little annoying when you want to use Mod A but it requires Mod B for some little thing and you don't want B.
Also argh, so much for my next farm using SVE; it seems its last update made it incompatible with a whole bunch of other mods I was plotting. Maybe I'll just grab the IF2 farm map and save SVE for next round.

Hi, I downloaded the upgrade empty cabin mod recently and whenever I tried to open up the menu to upgrade cabins, I could not open it up at all. Has anyone had this problem before? I am running multiplayer and bought the cabins before installing this mod.

The Fish Info mod shows the conditions a fish requires, from the Collections tab, that's the closest I can think of
does it show it for fish you haven't caught?

To make sure I got this: are you trying to use the ALYS dirt and Earthy Recolor grass (as in, the part of the map that isn't dirt, not the grass that you cut that turns into hay)? If so, that can't be done because map recolors typically come with both the dirt and grass recolor. You would have to manually remove the dirt / grass from 1 mod and that would take ages
then you'd have to rewrite the content.json 
If not, could you clarify what you're trying to do, and what Earthy Recolor's dirt "is not working" means o.o?
You can certainly add a dependency in the ALYS manifest.json for Earthy Recolor, which would ensure ALYS takes priority over Earthy Recolor, but idk if that's what you're trying to do.

Ah, ok so you are indeed in the first case. You can't easily use dirt from 1 mod and everything else from another mod, because they both come with dirt+everything else

Stardew Foliage Redone has 2 versions: one which recolors the map and changes the trees and bushes, and one that only changes the trees and bushes

i removed it but i’m in winter right now so i think i’d have to wait for summer
Flower Valley changes the buildings in town, the trees and bushes, and optionally the farm buildings

They shouldn't be. But if you also have ALYS, that would be competing with Earthy Recolor
because sometimes i get confused about what they actually do(the recolor mods) if they change@both the foliage AND the “shade/color” of things or if they only do the latter
Idk if Earthy Recolor changes the trees and bushes though, which Foliage Only does change

I think you're going to have to choose between Earthy Recolor and ALYS because you can't mix and match the dirt and grass (not the one you cut) as I mentioned.
You could add dependencies to overwrite stuff, but that's still not going to do what you mentioned you wanted to

I have ALYS as a map recolor. I have Foliage Only overwriting trees from ALYS via dependencies. I also have Flower Valley in the mix, but for that, I had to manually tweak content.json and the actual png files, to have the trees and bushes from both Foliage Only and Flower Valley
map recolor would be the tile sheets from the entire map , except the trees and bushes (in your case) right?

okay. it’s just that i want a change of things to my game and it’s why i’m looking into other recolors. but basically what i gathered from you guys is that it’s difficult to separate the terrain from the recolor, unless you add dependencies. if i don’t want to use flower valley, is it still difficult, changing the json? would i have to change the png too?

Assuming your goal is still the same, to use dirt from 1 mod and terrain grass from another mod: it can't be done easily. You'd have to remove the dirt from 1 mod's png files, and rewrite that mod's content.json.
Dependencies make the mod listed loaded first, therefore your mod will overwrite the first mod.
Dependencies allow 1 mod to load before another mod. So for example, I have ALYS and Foliage Only. The Foliage Only manifest.json lists ALYS as a dependency. This ensures ALYS loads before Foliage Only. Because the last one to load "wins", Foliage Only overwrites ALYS.

sometimes the easiest way to "merge" two colours like that is open both their spritesheets in your image editor of choice and paste the relevant tiles from one into the other

If you're using Steam, you can use "Verify Integrity of Game Files" to fix any broken xnbs, it's way faster than reinstalling

a good place to start is going through the required mods for json assets, but PPJA is one that adds a lot of crops! there's also bonster's crops and six plantable crops for winter, and a bunch more that add one or two crops
