What are ya’ll’s thoughts on the SC Elevator Mod? I realize it’s usefulness, but I can’t help but feel like it’s cheating in a way
I can't even use it, it breaks for me 
I don't like SdV combat that much, so I use the elevator to get back to where I left off - and don't have to worry about finding bombs
i'd like it if the system was reworked maybe? the elevator could only save how far you got over the span of three days or something before resetting, because past a certain point it becomes practically 100% iridium and then you can just break the game from there. it could take how far you got down into the mine and divide it by 3 and round down, so getting to floor 100 would only give you an elevator down to floor 30 or something. a good idea for a mod but needs balancing
Maybe set level 100 to the max floor? That’d probably work

idk what a void delight is, but I know that king salmon should probably not be in the preserves jar

I am currently using Teh's Fishing Overhaul with the unofficial patch https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/866 with Stardew valley expanded https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/3753, I also have Stardew Aquarium https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/6372. All of the stardew valley expanded locations only allow trash to be fished up, I figured this would be the case as no compatibility is mentioned with stardew valley expanded mod, however I am unable to modify the fish.json to any effect, changes to that file don't modify the game in any way, I also snooped around and tried removing fish.json and fishTraits.json and reloading the configs, while the game was running, that brought about no change. So my question is, if any of you know, how I can make modifications to fish.json and have them effect the game.

Hey my game started skipping and stuttering again after I thought the issue was gone. It only happens when smapi is installed. The vanilla game works fine but as soon as I install smapi, mods added in yet or not, the stuttering and skipping starts in every part of the game, even just the title screen. I've been trying to find a solution everywhere and can't seem to fix it /: any suggestions?
Mine's doing the same with a touch of freezing but I attributed it to all my mods

@bright sun last time completely uninstalling my game and smapi and deleting all the folders then reinstalling both fixed the skipping problem, but then the next day I went to play co-op and it started skipping again and had to switch to vanilla ): I don't have a lot of mods so I'm not sure what the issue could be

@cold fulcrum I've found if I do it via sending a letter to set HasFlag it seems to work. Otherwise it will trigger but only if you play through into the next day and dont stop and restart.
Ironically when i used HasFlag to try and load NPCs that didnt work.

Expansion mods can mean different things to different people. Some people want crop expansions, others NPC, some just locations. But Nexus is always a good place to start 🙂
Same for recolor mods. There’s a lot on Nexus and a handful on ModDrop.

No one mod expands everything but you’re probably thinking of Stardew Valley Expanded.

Got that amazing Latias Horse Replacement and No Clop. I’m so glad they both work together. I love Latias. She’s my favorite Pokémon.
I’m also glad the animation mods are working. All except the trees, which I can live without.
Other than that, I’d say my mod library is now perfected!
I even got the Happy Birthday mod, which lets you add your birthday and favorite gift
I don’t think I’m ever going to play without Stardew Valley Reimagined 2 or Tiny Mountain Farm (Unless I decide to get SVE, of course). They’re both great maps and work well with my map recolor mods

I've tried a few other things but my game is still skipping and stuttering and nothing I've done seems to help at all. It even does it on the title screen. All of my mods are out of the folder so it's just smapi that's installed but it's still happening. Any ideas?

hmm, do you have vsync turned on in game? any antivirus or stuff like Rivatuner or MSI Afterburner enabled? a log might also help even with no mods

could it have to do with your GPU and/or screen resolution maybe? if you have a dual graphics card, you could try switching it manually to run using the other one
try running as administrator too, sometimes that inexplicably helps

Many Naver mods are XNB which is no longer the recommended format. You can link the mods here if somebody has a Naver account comes by, the might be able to help you. (Without an account most of us have trouble viewing the page)

in summer they're in the desert so as not to over-write the ice cream shop

and whilst I designed it using their maps with the Character sheet, Claire was not on that character sheet
and not only does she share Jasper's birthday, she also usurpsed his position during the Egg Festival.
What a coincidence 
It's mainly annoying because I liked that position and now I have to move him. But he can stand beside her. Which will probably conflict with someone else
this is interesting, something is placing two random custom NPCs at 79, 25 on the Ice Festival for the Main event, and I'm not completely sure why. Whether it's something I did, or something someone else has done... Also I accidently made Marlon twins

IIRC there's a patch to add outfits for SVE characters but otherwise it works fine with SVE

I've downloaded "Immersive Farm 2 Remastered" but there are three different versions (CP, FTM and TXM) could anyone explain the differences or perhaps justt tell me which to use? Cant find anything on the forum
okay, so something is patching two tiles in my Ice festival, I think using Content Patcher to place tiles, but I am not sure what...
all three are required, each one with a different function to make the farm work.

it more or so depends on the patch mode actually, but it would probably act up either way.
at best it would just take whatever is earlier in load order I think, at worst it'd start acting up yeah

I can't get the unlimited players mod to work. whenever someone tries to join, besides the 3 original people that were the world, they get stuck on a "Connecting" screen, and eventually just get sent back to the co-op screen after getting a could not connect message. Anybody know how to fix it?

I've been trying to find a mod that can control everything. Like hearts, money, weather, kinda like a master controller. A lot of the mods I've tried are either only for windows (im on a mac) or are just really old. Does anyone know a good mod that fits the criteria ^

Another question. I'm trying to make all my mods compatitable with elle's seasonal buildings and it said I would need to overwrite the original textures in the files. Its been going well so far but the Tractor Mod's assets dont have seasonal textures to overwrite, do I just put them all in anyways?

Nexus has a solid history, the largest archive, and a good quality in-built virus scan.
Moddrop is the new kid on the block; there are very few Moddrop-exclusive mods (most are crossposted to Nexus) and fewer mods overall, but I've been told it has the better installer if you prefer things automated and it's also safe
How do mods work in multiplayer? Like are there any "global" mods you can dl, or is everything client side?
every mod can be used in multiplayer whether the other person is using smapi or not
well depends on the mod
All texture mods are client side. Almost all Harmony mods (as in, the ones that directly alter game code) need all players to install them. Generally, mods will state if all players need them

if you do all decide to play SVE, or any other mod that adds new marriable NPCs, the farmhands shouldn't try to marry them. At the moment farmhands can only marry other players or NPCs from the base game. It's a known problem with the game code itself, and cannot be fixed until 1.5 comes out

most characters tend to show tremendous character development as you make friends, so fingers crossed
but whilst I can understand why some folks might prefer to not have antagonistic characters, as long as he's not toooffensive, he can stay for a while.

what kind of furniture are you trying to place? have you tried changing where your farmer stands to place it? furniture can be finicky at times

Well, first of all I'd suggest deleting all the multiple copies of many mods
i downloaded them all today moose they should be the most up to date ones
i can only find them as cp files instead

In the parsed log it tells you what mod has copies and gives you path to them.
like this one: Content Patcher because you have multiple copies of this mod installed. To fix this, delete these folders and reinstall the mod: Mods\Content Patcher 1.18.6-1915-1-18-6-1605983779\ContentPatcher, Mods\ContentPatcher
You should be fine to delete the first one and the second one should load fine then

well that technically did exist a while back, but that way required file replacement, possibly corrupting saves and files, and that was the entire reason content patcher came to existence, so it’s not likely we’ll see patching without smapi anytime in the future.

If I remove the content.json made for install a custom greenhouse and use the original, the map works normally, but I lose everything on the greenhouse.

You could probably put both the files into two separate json files, then create another using "Includes" that will Include either one or the other each day. But it's a lot of work. What are you trying to combine?

specifically, I'm trying to combine dialogue from specific mods (like Revamped Dialogues for Alex) with Canon-Friendly Dialogue Expansion, which affects all NPCs
well you could do it manually via copy and paste and rearrange the keys so that there are no two the same.
but each NPC in the Canon-Friendly mod has jsons for each separate NPC, so it's easy to separate them
yeah, there are three folders: Festivals, Misc, NPCs; the festivals have Year 2 and Year 3 folders, and the Misc json is for rainy and "jobleave" dialogue
okay, here's what you could do: rename the Alex one to Alex1.json
take the dialogue from the other Alex one, make sure it is formatted similarly and name it Alex2.json but save it in the same file
then in the content.json: { "LogName": "Alex", "Action": "Include", "FromFile": "Data/default/NPCs/Alex{{Random: 1,2}}.json", },

nope. 2 means "Every year past 1"
but you can do different dialogue every year if you want more variety

I wanted to use Platonic Relationships, which allows for players to get to 10 hearts (with or without 8- and 10-heart events), but doesn't change or hide "romantic" dialogue.
I'm too lazy to edit the vanilla xnb files, so I can't eliminate all of the 8- and 10-heart romantic dialogue, but I can at least edit the dialogue mods to only trigger certain dialogue after I unlock "dating" by giving them a bouquet
added benefit: it also prevernts the pesky "all marriage candidates ambush" event that plays when you get all 6 men or women to 10 hearts.

i'm sure some dialogue mod authors would be happy to upload your changes for platonic relationships compat! once you finish you can send them the files over nexus and ask
i've been meaning to do some platonic heart events for it but events 
honestly, the 8 and 10 heart events aren't super romantic in and of themselves

though I also had an idea for a good companion mod to Platonic Dialogue: add a dialogue for each bachelor/ette where they ask, in their own way, whether the player has feelings for them: if they say yes, it unlocks vanilla romance dialogue; if they say no, it keeps the dialogue hidden and/or replaces it with friendly dialogue befitting the close relationship they have.
Though I guess giving them a bouquet does the same thing

there should also be a platonic bouquet for sale or crafting. Who doesn't like to get flowers from a friend?
None of my NPCs start datable.
I made a craftable bouquet cos I couldn't use the f2f ones.
Pity you cannot currently customize gift responses.
but the two mods I want to do are: one that allows NPCs to divorce the player once their heart level falls below a certain threshold; and another one to enhance the "two-timing ambush" aftermath.
I got the first idea from watching DF abuse all his spouses. :P
I want an amicable divorces mod too. I think there kinda is one. But letting the NPC say "look u clearly dont like me, I'm off" seems a great idea.

Which is lame cos she only says it if you ignore her entirely and therefore she has every right to be pissed. Below 8 hearts I think.

the rival romance mods are great, but they never really progress once you help (or prevent) them get together
Rival marriages are a pain cos you have to move people and that involves entirely new schedules.

Emily or Haley's spouse moving in would be great. So much potential for dialogue of either one complaining about the other's husband (or wife). :P

That disables it as long as you see that part first

They are but you want to trigger the rival hearts one before getting Marnie to 10 hearts

Anyhow in regards to your other question the answer is yes.
the penalty for that event is too soft; it just drops them to 8 hearts and you only have to wait a week before you can start dating them all again.
And that is my ship and I will go down with it if need be.
(Also I may expand on it if CA gives us walking sprites for Marlon or I decide to use my own)

if it's not configurable, a better thing to do than deleting portrait files would be to delete the lines in the content.json that load them
it would have a file called config.json

first thing to do is delete and reinstall the entire mod, since the files may not be in the right place
then, after you run the game once, if there is a config file it would be inside the folder for shie's portraits
you can open json files in notepad or another text editor

mochi, that second link can help you find a CP version of the other portrait mod you were using--that way, you can paste the portraits you like from it into shie's

it does reset XNB mods, but you shouldn't be using XNBs at all-at best you'll have invisible items and portraits from using them, at worst crashes or corrupted saves
your SMAPI mods and save files aren't affected at all by resetting though! only ones you put into the content folder

it's pretty simple to convert XNB only mods into CP too
