So question since I am dumb. I forgot to toggle Mature on for the Stardew Valley Expanded mod for this entire gameplay. I am currently in year 1 winter, can I still get the mature events and things like that on that file or will I have to completely start over.
I really don't want to do that but I am determined to see all the content I can with the mod
I more specifically want to see Sebastian's and Shanes one since I am very invested in their stories.

I was able to use and then delete the "cellar stairs" I repurposed for The Lost Valley (added by Boarding House), because I placed one inside the farmhouse before deciding to move it to a spot out on the farm, so I removed the one inside the farmhouse and then placed a new one outside on the farm.
Inside The Lost Valley, I placed a small door to the farmhouse (since the passages are one way), but then when I went to remove it, because I changed my mind about where I wanted it, it acted as if it removed it, and it was no longer listed in the menu, but the door was still there on the map, and usable o.o' (I was able to walk through it) I left the map and went back to it, to try and remove it again, but the menu didn't list it as a removable option, even though it was still on the map o.o' I was able to place a different door on top of it and remove that, but not the door that was still there.

Automate description says I can link chests machines etc by using path as a connector but that doesnt seem to work for me. Any idea on how to maximize one chest?
did you look at the config.json file?
the default config doesn't come with paths as connectors, there is an optional config you can download on the mod page that has wood and crystal paths added as connectors
or you can add other paths by inputting their names into that file

Notably remastered is also built around using SVE, I think, where the fix version is I think someone else just keeping it around for general use.

Generally no? There may be some mods where stuff might not work great on an existing save (big map edits, or stuff where it modifies early game events and then you'd miss the edited content, and even these would probably work they just might look weird).
But tons of stuff works absolutely fine.

@tacit turret I think it's only set up for one cabin layout, so if you did the spread apart version try close and other way around. If by experimental player limit you mean Unlimited Multiplayer https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2213 then yep, it just lets you keep building cabins. Although this mod https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2952 adds some console commands for that to go with the hotel building for larger servers.

Wife followed the instructions on the wiki, but when trying to execute the .command file, it keeps saying it can't find the location
except the locations was c/c'd directly from the mac address bar

@tacit turret You have to use the 'Near' layout! I posted a User Screenshot on SVE modpage Nexus of where your Cabins will appear. (Two on the left by the river, one to the right, in the spot below the first four 'fields' and towards the cave area)
@hollow ingot might be an unescaped space character in the file path (you can escape it by prefixing it with \ character or putting the whole path in quotes ")
The \ on the wiki example are all escapes, but those won't show up in things like pwd output.
Thing I don't understand is that wiki says there are \ but this path only contains /
@hollow ingot to expand a bit on this, whitespace characters like space are interpreted as separators by the shell normally, and the\in the example is used to prevent that

Ok, so in the first block of red text, the Skipped mods section, you'll want to focus on the ones that say they couldn't load "because you have multiple copies installed."
If the game tries to load the same mod twice, it goes
and doesn't load it at all. You'll want to make sure you only have 1 copy of those mods, so just delete 1 and leave the other one in. The error message shows you the file / folder path, so that makes it easier to find
I think it's because you have the PPJA mega pack, as well as the individual mods
So should I delete the PPJA mega pack?
You can either keep the PPJA mega pack, and when mods within it update, delete those folders from within the mega pack, and install the new ones inside it,
Or delete the mega pack, and keep the individual mods.
But you'd have to then make sure you have all the individual mods that were included in the PPJA mega pack
Most of those Skipped mods errors are interconnected. The one that's separate is Quality Products 2.1.2 because it's no longer compatible. Please check for a new version at https://smapi.io/mods
If you go to that link and search for Quality Artisan Products, you'll find an alternative you can use. So you'd delete Quality Artisan Products from your Mods folder, and use the alternative instead.
The other recommendation I have is updating the mods that have updates, which are listed with convenient links at the very top of the log

Ok so I don't want to give you the wrong info on what to put for the manifest.json, so your best bet would be to download the mod again, and then overwrite your manifest.json with the one from the download

I have sad news. The recommended child to NPC has not been updated, so we cannot use mode. I just installed it, but there was an error that all the children in the game had already been deleted

Did you use Custom Farming Redux (CFR) at any point? It's weird how it only just now mentioned it

And uh, juuuust to clarify, for Sweet Tooth, there's a JA component and a PFM component. You need both for the mod to work as intended.
JA component adds the items, and PFM component lets you make the items using machines

I have a Vortex question: I just downloaded a couple mods and installed/enabled then through Vortex, but they don't show up in my Mod folder, but do show up in the Vortex Mod Staging folder. What could I be missing?
I think you need to deploy them, still.

@modern harbor I used to have that happen, there's a button in the upper right that hides/shows notifications such as "you need to elevate to deploy", it's possible you had that hidden

I think I'm at 385 mods now, removed some (I was up to 390), and manual still works. I'm actually thinking of getting a little more organized, adding some sub folders. Definitely for mods that have multiple components like NPCs, I should just have a folder called Herbert and throw all the components in there >_> it'd make things easier when updating

This mod, which is required for stuff like the Stardew Aquarium and such. The issue is that upon installing this mod, it immediately disables most, if not all, of my BAGI icons, fancy resource mods, etc. No actual function changes, just visual changes. They revert to their base stardew sprites but with sparkles.

@zinc gyro that file includes the English version, the message is to indicate it now also has a Portuguese translation. For PPJA mods, the translations are included with the mod, but they are added over time, as they get translators.

I personally use Better Ranching, which shows a little empty
(rather than red, it's empty) when they need the pets, and then that goes away after you pet them
Yeah I'm monolingual sadly so all of my mods are released in English first
Lol it's all good, I appreciate all the hard work of the translators and you combining all that stuff to make the mod more accessible for others 
I've debated if I need to do this for my mods (I tagged them as English to be on the safe side), I think the only translations I'd need are for the letters via MFM 
MFM makes it very single to add support for i18n which is nice
But it's always satisfying being able to check off another translation for a mod 😄

If you're starting a new game with the mod you can ignore that. It's for fixing issues from adding SVE to a save where you played a bunch beforehand.

You'll want to unpack that somewhere other than your stardew game directory, then run the installer. It'll put SMAPI in place and create the Mods directory for you. 🙂

Scopaf, you get the main file that says it's for SVE. If you use one of the map recolors that there's a compatibility patch for in the optional files, you can use those, but they're not required. Make sure it says "and SVE" though, so "Stardew Foliage Redone and SVE" if you use both

With LookupAnything on android, I change the F1 lookup to use VolumeUp or VolumeDown (either) so that I can press it while facing someone or something
And then I change the more useful Shift + F1 lookup to be a single key on the VirtualKeyboard

Some mods let you edit key bindings, which are controller/keyboard/mouse buttons which do something in-game. This page explains how to configure them. (This works for any mod using SMAPI's standard APIs.)

Thank you @restive zodiac and @fair vessel, because you both have been telling me to put my edits to mods into little CP patches instead of directly editing the mods, and I only finally got around to it because I was worried I wouldn't know how to do it, but now I see the light and it's wonderful~ 
@dire fractal IF2R is a separate mod on the SVE page. It replaces the standard farm, so if you want to use it you need to create a new basic farm instead of forest, mining, fishing, etc farms.
Have you ever created a new save?
When you make a new farm, you choose from several different farm types, some of which have different themes/perks, such as offering foraging or places to mine in a mini-quarry. The standard farm is the top one in all the options, the first on the list.
As a side note, FlashShifter, author of SVE, recommends playing at least through year 3 without SVE, so that you are more familiar with the content and get the most out of SVE. It also adds a lot of content, and can be overwhelming if it's your first time playing Stardew Valley.
Either way, do what you feel, but just wanted to let you know 
(Remember to mention that you're playing modded if you share progress/ask questions in the gameplay channels - since you have no experience with the game, you won't be able to know which things are just part of the vanilla game and which are added by mods, so it might confuse other new people 😄 )

There are pictures of the farm layout on the SVE page, and pictures of all the vanilla farm layouts on the wiki.
IF2R is very big compared to the standard map, and has some functions from basically all of the non-standard maps from the vanilla game (and then some)
(Mods can change tons of stuff; no one's going to be able to list every change for you when you have no familiarity at all with what it's changing 😅 )
There are lots of modded farm maps available - most are bigger than the ones they replace, but not all. Several of them include additional functionality like mini-quarries or forage without being a dedicated forest farm, that kind of thing. IF2R does all the vanilla map type stuff except monsters at night, I think.

Map preferences are pretty subjective though, and can have a significant impact on playstyle. It's good to look at the basic ones, if only in a screenshot, to see the impact.

scythe only harvests ripe scythe-harvestable crops and clears grass, weeds, and wilted crops; it doesn't affect growing crops or crops not harvestable with scythe (in vanilla)

you also have to be in spring or summer, and it has to be sunny

When launching the game via SMAPI, a console window should open and print a bunch of text alongside the actual game window opening.
That text (also logged to a file, https://smapi.io/log has a parser to make it easier to read and info on how to find it) will tell you which mods are loading and whether there are any issues at startup / during play.

Hello hello, question. The NPC Locations mod suddenly stopped showing the Traveling Cart Merchant on the map and the log on SMAPI says no error relating to that? I always forget the Traveling Cart merchant days and this mod helps alot with reminding me. I'm also using the SVE updated map and compatible version with NPC locations mod.

If the mod doesn't, no, you can't.

artisan valley has custom machines, which means they wont be on the cjb menu unless someone makes an add on for it

Quite possible, depending on the graphics capabilities of your device. Not sure about mods that could help, maybe if one exists somewhere that can disable the rain graphics?
I wonder if drawing a transparent texture instead of the rain would have a performance difference compared to not drawing it at all 
The first would be an easy CP mod, the second a complicated harmony one

Heh, i actually tried just making it invisible. And succeed. Didnt work tho. So i think its justlag from the sprites changing 20 times /second

Right, 'cause drawing 240 transparent pixels and 16 opaque ones is about the same as 256 transparent ones. 😐 Are you using climate mods or any crazy lighting stuff by chance?
Hello there, does anyone have an idea if there is a map mod made for stardew valley expanded with the immersive farm? When i open the map in game i still see the old map.
Did you download and install the IF2R map under optional files?
And are you using the standard farm type?

Oh yeah, you need NPC Map Locations for SVE to change that

Hello I have question about the Stardew Valley Expanded mod.
My friend and I want to start a new farm world with that mod but I want to know if it will affect/override the single player farm that I already have because I started recently and still want to "finish" the vanilla game in singleplayer.

you can put a . in front of mods to disable the folder (or individual mods) or just run Stardew Valley. ewe instead of StardewModdingAPi. exe

It's ok if it's confusing. Making these sorts of changes to a mod is more of a #making-mods-general thing than a #archived-modded-support thing. It's not expected that a typical player will learn what's required to make mod edits like this.
You pretty much need to learn how a Producer Framework Mod content pack works to be able to edit the mod files for a content pack and change things like the processing time

I'd say the key difference is XNB mods are installed into the Stardew Valley > Content folder and don't have any json files with them. I specify that because there are some Content Patcher (CP) mods that have json files, but also have some files packaged in XNB format
on rare occassions, xnb mods will be updated for 1.4, but at that point, you could make your own cp conversion (if the mod isnt too complicated, like retextures and stuff)

XNB mods replace regular game files wholesale, is a big difference.
That's what "goes into the Content" folder means, yes 
and since those update between main game versions, when they don't get updated they cause all sorts of mischief 
I just didn't want them searching "XNB" in their Mods folder and delete stuff in a panic, because as long as the mod author used a json file to load stuff, their game files aren't being replaced
(I've seen people do it, poor souls)

Did you see the message in the log about Quality Products, btw? That mod is outdated, but there is an alternative, you can find the link to it on mods.smapi.io by searching for Quality Products on there (I use it and it's wonderful, even if it technically makes casks less useful lol)

I think if it's a machine inside the Mod folder it should have a folder started with "[PFM]"
