i uninstalled spacecore and now i cant do any multiplayer, it crashes my game, i cant load either i have smapi or not. how do i fix this please? this is my smapi log.
It looks like you uninstalled a lot more than just SpaceCore - you have zero mods enabled, not even content patcher
should i go ahead and install content patcher now and it should work?
and all the previous mods that made up your save?
theres also an issue in the logs where it says errors abt elle's cuter barn animals when i never even had that mod installed

i installed it because of a cosmetic mod i found thats called updated seasonal japanese buildings

a lesson for next time I guess. your mod list must match, even for so-called cosmetic mods, and that goes triple for a mod that touches save serialization like SpaceCore
for now, get the mod list from the host, install everything on it (since it looks like you deleted every other mod, not just SpaceCore) and try again

before i installed spacecore, i never had an issue with using different cosmetic mods than the host
but after all this fiasco i seem to cant do that anymore.. but of course its my fault but i also want to understand
becasue before i had spacecore everything is all smooth.. during spacecore i need to have the mods... but now that i dont have spacecore, i still need to adhere to the spacecore law?
is it like.. i can never remove the save serialization of spacecore or, is there still a way to revert it back to before the whole spacecore changes was made?
There's no perfect answer, but any content mod that has Spacecore as a dependency likely needs 100% match with the host.

i did it... we started a new world and it didnt require me to use the same cosmetic mods as the host, just the QoL system mods
i think the issue was that the old mp world got save serialized by the old spacecore so it would corrupt even if i didnt have it anymore, but since this new world is in the og saves.. it didnt hawve any complciations

they're both mods for more dialogue after marrige, he's married to sam and im married to sebastian, so we have those respective mods
the problem is that SVE is installed in two locations in the Mods folder, and the fix is to delete both of them and reinstall the mod (for simplicity), the log site tells the locations of the installs in the red messages if needed

I've got a problem with gh peach body, I can't change the eye colour it's stuck dark brown idk why
nvm found the problem...for some reason the oversized sleeves mod was overwriting the eye colour to be dark brown....it didn't do that with the other body mods. Shame it isn't compatible
another problem now...the sprite still has a nose even with the option unticked and with only content patcher, generic mod config and gh peach body

Technically yes. If it is Content Patcher mod, most likely working just fine. But a mod that change game mechanic, most probably won't work. So you need to read mod description/tag/post if someone said the mod is no longer worked on 1.6 or check smapi.io/mod

No clip is a mod that will allow you to walk through walls and any other additional obstacles that you would not normally be able to walk through. This is excellent for debugging for both modded players and mod authors for mod testing purposes.

the cheat mods nd stuff work its just the hair, fit and build mods etc that dont
it says right there you're missing dependencies - Calcifier, Furniture Framework, JSON Assets (make sure to download version 1.11.8)
Though for JA specifically you should check whether the mod that depends on it has an updated version that uses Content Patcher because JA is deprecated

And Portraiture should have instructions in its description. You need to download the raw pngs from DCBurger portraits and put it somewhere inside Portraiture's folders

How AT works is that you need to use the tools bought from Robin to change the texture of the placed objects/items
They don't automatically change by themselves last I recall
(same with FashionSense - you need to buy a mirror from Pierre to change your appearance and equip its items)
hi, me again. trying to unzip the happy birthday mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/520?tab=description) and it keeps giving me errors because the file names are too long

What's the filepath to your Stardew directory? Those are long file names, but that + the filepath may be hitting Windows 256 character limit

Yeah - you might still run into issues depending on how deep the stardew filepath is, but you might be able to trim a few characters from the mod folder name
how likely is the space core mod to corrupt a save file
zilch.
Spacecore actually helps by managing certain items so that removing the mod that adds them doesn't corrupt the file (Custom tools especially, I believe)
If mods were going to corrupt the save file, they wouldn't be used, essentially
The warning is in the log specifically because it does tinker with how saves are done

(SpaceCore is pretty stable, so it's safe to use despite that warning. The warning is there for a reason though; SpaceCore has broken saves in rare cases before, though SMAPI and the game can usually auto-recover.)

the odd part is it doesnt always crash when loading grampleton fields it crashed yesterday when loading and today when loading from robins but I went there in game previously today and there was no issue?

my crash has changed, same error just crashing after a certain number of days on the farm - its probably down to a memory leak which I had noticed before but it wasnt making the game crash just start to run poorly after a few days. so the crash is basically just irritating but I guess I'll have to start stripping mods until it stops crashing

Hi!! I've checked my SMAPI log and there's nothing about East Scarp there, and I haven't seen anything similar to this issue when I've looked around. I'm guessing I missed installing something, or maybe something needs moved? All of the signs/things you can usually click on to see little blurbs related to East Scarp dislpay text like this instead, and there are no ES NPCs in town.

You've got a lot of warnings about warps to East Scarp being missing (More then we usually see) - I highly recommend completely removing East Scarpe and downloading a fresh copy

@sinful sonnet You have been told numerous times now, they cannot help you with android modding. Unfortunately, it's just broken right now so who knows if it will be looked on in the future.

Android SMAPI does not currently work for versions of SDV past 1.5.6.39. We do not know if or when it will be made compatible. It is not possible to downgrade to .39 through legal means so do not ask how to do this.
Mod support for 1.5 on Android is still experimental, so many mods are broken or buggy. That's often something SMAPI needs to fix, and we may not be able to provide a solution.

It's fairly straight forward - If you've already downloaded an updated copy.
Go to your Mods Folder
Find the old Content Patcher
Delete it
Go to your updated Content Patcher
Copy it into the Mods directory

Yes - you'll need to unzip it - SMAPI can't read zip files
If you're on Windows, you just open the zip file like any other folder, then you can either hit extract (at the top), or just drag the folder out of the zip.

The Content Patcher folder in Mods, not the Content folder (That's all critical game files).
It's an easy fix, no worries.
Go to Steam - Go to Stardew Valley - Right Click - Properties
deep breath, everything is fine
Go to Installed Files on the left, then hit the button labeled "Verify Integrity of Game Files"
(Steam W)
Steam will detect that the files are missing, then redownload them for you.
That will recover any critical game files you accidentally delete or that somehow get messed up

Once Steam finishes redownloading the files, let me know, and I'll walk you through replacing Content Patcher more carefully.
You haven't done any lasting damage (And your saves are fine), and we'll get it fixed and get you back in game.
Alright. Go to your Stardew Valley Folder -> Go to Mods. (Right now you have 3 mods in there, SaveBackup, ConsoleCommands, ContentPatcher).
Once you're there, delete the folder labeled ContentPatcher
Open the Mods folder
Correct. Just the folder labeled ContentPatcher which is the old version

Ok. Now is when you copy a fresh copy of Content Patcher from the downloaded zip and put it in the Mods folder.
In this case, you accidentally put it one folder back, in Stardew Valley. Go ahead and cut that ContentPatcher and paste it in the Mods folder.

The copy that exists in the Stardew Valley folder is the one you were trying to install.
If you'd prefer, you can get a fresh copy from the zip, but this should be that same folder.

Alright - Go ahead and launch Stardew, and let's make sure there are no errors (And that it's showing that Content Patcher does not need to be updated)

They're all referencing one map, which may have been renamed or removed - If nothing is obviously broken, it's probably harmless to ignore.
The giant wall of warnings for Integrated Minecarts seems like it's looking for mods (that it supports) that you don't have installed, and can probably be ignored (But I don't know for certain)

I have all the major expansions and never ran into any problems with them
In this case, they originally had issues with East Scarp and it was generating a wide variety of warp errors - I just wanted a follow up log to make sure things were looking better.
Certain yellow text is more or less harmless

Hii, I just saw the import option for fashion sense, is it possible to move a saved outfit from one save to another?
Hi! There is, in a manner of speaking - in the latest version of Fashion Sense you can "export" an outfit, which will save it to the clipboard. You can then paste it into a text editor and save it. Then you'd open a different save file and "import" it from the saved location.
Ooh, how do you get to the export function?
Use the Hand Mirror to open the menu. On the right hand side you'll see a little icon that looks like a dresser. Click on that and you'll be able to save your outfits. iirc there should be more info on the mod's github wiki 🙂

It's entirely up to what you want. If you want to play Stardew as "intended", but with different graphics, go for it.
If you mean this program (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/6614), you download it, extract it into a folder anywhere you want (it doesn't have to be in your game folder - I just put it in my Downloads folder), then run it and follow the instructions that are linked in the mod description. It is not a mod for the game and it is not run through SMAPI. It is a completely separate program that uses information from your save file.
I'm experiencing issue on coop mode. When the non-host players interact with a chest via Chests Anywhere mod by pressing the hot key, when they try putting/retrieving items to/from the chest, some items are getting duplicated and some are lost forever. Is there anyone here who experiences the same issue?

Is it normal for them to not show up during character creation?
I've downloaded many recolor/furniture/animal mods that worked perfectly fine but for some reason hair mods never pop up in character creation :(
If it's fashion sense mod, you might need to use Hand Mirror after reaching in game. I might be wrong so someone else might give better answer for you

You and your friend would need to have the same custom farm installed to play together on it. You also can't have 2 custom farms replacing the same map (like, if 2 maps both replace the standard farm)
Also, if the farm map has configurable stuff, you should match your configs as well.

You should also know that SVE has 2 optional files on it's mod page that are both custom farm maps replacing the Standard farm. You can't have both of them. Sometimes this confuses people.

Can you explain what you mean by maps? Is it farm type (standard, forest, beach, etc) or is it location in the game?
maps would be the farm, but there isn't a specific one, I just wanted to know if there was a tutorial because I couldn't understand it from the wiki tutorial.

calling farm "map" is really confusing because there are many concepts with that name, i am interpreting what you want as wanting to have different mods on your standard farm save vs your meadowlands farm save and so on

Everything works perfectly in the spring, but in summer fall and autumn, gwens medieval buildings just disappear

I'd recommend avoiding most mods that haven't been updated since at least March 2024, by the way - especially ones that change how the game works. Some older mods will still work, but many won't.

Regarding SVE. When removing the fences on grandpas farm, they just get cut off at the bottom. is there a way to remove that?

Idk if I can get help here for SMAPI for android. But I'm having issue with just one mod which is virtual keyboard. I can't get the keys I add to show up on the keyboard when I load the game. it works properly there no errors for that mod. It just doesn't add keys when I edit the config in SMAPI. I went to YouTube to see if I was the problem. But the videos I have watch people were doing the exact same way and was able. To get the keys that they added to show up on the keyboard when the launch the game. Is there a specific way I'm suppose to add keys?

Android SMAPI does not currently work for versions of SDV past 1.5.6.39. We do not know if or when it will be made compatible. It is not possible to downgrade to .39 through legal means so do not ask how to do this.
Mod support for 1.5 on Android is still experimental, so many mods are broken or buggy. That's often something SMAPI needs to fix, and we may not be able to provide a solution.

So, in your Stardew Valley folder, there should be one specifically labeled "Mods", if so, please take a screenshot of it. If you've renamed the Mods folder to something else, please confirm.

Ok - How did you open it before when you got all the error messages? Because that was launching SMAPI.
If you're launching via Steam and it's not loading SMAPI, you're likely missing the launch option that tells it to use SMAPI instead (And it's an easy fix)

Yep - You're almost done. Scarp and Ridgeside are loading correctly now. Go back to your Mods folder and delete the following folders.

Ah - That explains some of the mods in your mod folder - A lot of stuff changed with Stardew 1.6 and mod lists from back in the days have a lot of issues.
If you're looking for new mods, stuff released from March 19, 2024 on was all designed for 1.6 - Older content mods may (and often do) still work, but some just aren't compatible with 1.6 (if you get errors when you try them)

It wants you to rename Stardew Valley.exe to something else as a backup, then make a copy of StardewModdingAPI.exe. Rename the copy that you just created to Stardew Valley.exe

So the end result is you have a backup copy of Stardew Valley's EXE, the original SMAPI exe, and the copy that's pretending to be Stardew Valley

Most mods can be added to an existing save file - Some are recommended against due to the fact you'll miss some content. Major ones like Stardew Valley Expanded, Ridgeside Village, East Scarp can be added mid save, though Stardew Valley Expanded will cause a bunch of maps to have bushes and trees out of place due to the maps they change (On an existing save file)
If you change farms mid-game, everything will be out of place based on their positions on the old map - Reset Terrain Features should help with this

There should be a Mods folder in your Stardew Valley folder that you can unzip mods into
You will need to unzip them though, SMAPI won't touch zips. And make sure you have any dependencies that the mod needs.
You'll know you're in the right folder when you see ConsoleCommands SaveBackup as those two mods come with SMAPI and shouldn't be deleted

You're probably missing a prerequisite
And I think the console should still be available in the background if you want to scroll up, but it's possible the XboxApp does it differently

Android SMAPI does not currently work for versions of SDV past 1.5.6.39. We do not know if or when it will be made compatible. It is not possible to downgrade to .39 through legal means so do not ask how to do this.
Mod support for 1.5 on Android is still experimental, so many mods are broken or buggy. That's often something SMAPI needs to fix, and we may not be able to provide a solution.

okay what I want you to do now is delete you SVE installation and install it again from scratch - do not delete any of the folders in the zip you get from Nexus, just drop the whole thing into your mods folder
however something to note is that when i opened stardew on steam it auto copened the pufferfish chicken
like drop the whole compressed zip folder?
you don't need to use %command% in the installer or anything, just in steam's launch options section

is this for all mods or just specific ones
whenever a mod tells you it needs another thing - get the thing
on the description tab of a mod, there's a section called "requirements" that options a drop-down, which should have info on what is hard required and what is optional
content patcher is a framework mod - many, many mods require it to work
as long as they don't change exactly the same thing - for example, you can't have two portrait mods unless they let you toggle characters on and off individually
contentpatcher.dll and manifest.json

the dll is the actual mod, the manifest is what smapi needs to load it in

good rule of thumb - if it's one solo .xnb file, with no manifest etc, don't use it
if it's from after March 2024, it'll work on the current version of the game
if it's from before March 2024, check the comments and mod description to see if it still works

yes, thats correct. if you read the titles on the files, it'll give you an idea of what that file contains. in sve's case, there's one main file, two farm maps, grampleton fields, and some desktop wallpapers

unfortunately, im not familiar with the tool in question, so i cant really help you navigate using it. i imagine whatever file if generates still needs to be added to the game, but your best bet is going to be looking in the tool's documentation

Hi guys! My partner and I both have the same exact mods installed, we played together on our joint farm around two days ago. Today we both log in and @knotty flame attempts to host the farm as per usual, however, this time it won't give him an invite code and it doesn't show up in my list of existing co-op games even after refreshing several times. I looked at the code and for both of us it says '[game] Galaxy auth failure: FAILURE_REASON_UNDEFINED'
When he sent me an invite through steam to join, hoping that would help - it brought me to the menu with my character but when I tried to click on it, it said "This character belongs to someone else".

Galaxy auth failure usually means that the multiplayer server (hosted by GOG) is down. It rarely has anything to do with mods and all we can do is to wait for it to go back up again.

Alright. So I have been experiencing lots of lag and stuttering at random moments. Profiler blames contentpatcher, but that does not really narrow it down much. As advised I am posting my smapi log here. My most recent one was one I closed while not loaded yet, so I loaded the game again and walked around a little (obviously now not experiencing any lag, lol) but maybe the other stuff is still usefull and anyone can tell me what might cause the lag. I have learned clearglasses can go as it is not doing what I thought, besides that no idea if any weird combos might be causing lag. Any help or suggestions is appreciated! (Except use less mods hahaha xD)

- Grep through your mods folder looking for TimeChanged
In general TimeChanged on map patches = bad
That autoforager mod is taking an insane amount of time
- PlayerWarped I generally do not notice unless it goes above 250ms
I also called the troubleshoot as it has some guidance to run on dedicated graphics card etc but PLEASE follow Atra's advice first
